The Lab Series is the future of exclusive bowling ball performance. Built in a lab where possibilities are endless, and innovation is the only acceptable outcome. The Level is the first ball in the new Lab Series. Each product in the Lab Series represents countless hours of experimentation, refinement, and the use of groundbreaking materials. The goal of the Lab Series is to explore chemistry and weight block paths never pursued before in order to give bowlers ball reaction that is completely different from anything seen in the industry. The Lab Series is not limited to a specific type of ball reaction. Some of the earliest and smoothest directions will be explored in the Lab Series as well as some of the latest and most angular paths. Bowlers will find the Lab Series is for those who understand that excellence has no ceiling, who recognize that true innovation comes at a premium. These products are created without compromise, designed for bowlers who demand the absolute top of performance.
Wrapped around the new Level is a new coverstock material that has physical properties never seen before in the bowling industry. This makes the Level a great choice when consistent, continuous, predictable ball motion is needed.

Storm - Level
The Level is the first bowling ball in the new Lab Series by Storm Products. This bowling ball features a brand new coverstock called the RPM and the Equalizer A.I. core. The coverstock is what makes this bowling ball different – it absorbs oil faster than any previous coverstock and results in a smooth overall reaction. Since this is a lower differential core, I drilled my Level with a stronger pin-up layout: 60 x 4 ¼ x 30. Since this ball features some new technology, I didn’t set any real expectations on how this bowling ball is going to roll. After testing it out on a few patterns, I can certainly say that it creates a very smooth and controllable ball motion. The bowling ball definitely allowed me to keep my launch angles a bit more closed and keep my lines of play closer to the pocket. I did feel like I wanted to use a little more surface on my Level to make it read the mid-lane a little bit sooner, mainly because of my naturally faster ball speed. I did compare the Level to some of my urethane bowling balls and the Level certainly allows me to open up the lane a little more than any urethane bowling ball. My Level has some continuation when I open up my launch angles, but my ball speed certainly has to be slower for this ball to work. I do believe this Level creates a nice bridge between urethane bowling balls and weaker reactive bowling balls. I think this bowling ball will work well on a lot of medium patterns that range between 38 to 41 feet, especially if those patterns are a little flatter. Higher rev-rate bowlers will certainly like this bowling ball; however, it may take some surface adjustments or practice on different patterns to really figure this bowling ball.

Storm LEVEL by Roto Grip Rick Ball info and layout: Equalizer AI Core, with all RPM solid coverstock - factory finished at 1000 grit abralon, but I changed the surface to 3000 grit abralon after using it at 1000 grit and 2000 grit. Layout is: 4 x 4 x 1 which was suggested by Earl Burger at ABC North Lanes and Pro Shop. My updated specs: Rev rate 420’s, ball speed 15.3 to 15.8 mph off the hand, axis tilt of 16 degrees and axis rotation of 70 degrees, PAP is 3 15/16th up 3/16th. Tested on Pro-lane surface on a 44 ft house pattern with lower volume used for the junior and senior leagues, a 44 ft house pattern with larger volume, and patterns that ranged from 33 ft to 39 ft sport patterns. Time to see what the LEVEL is all about: When the teaser hit the Stormbowling.com website, I thought that we were just trying to recreate the wheel again. But instead, WE have completed a whole new LEVEL when it comes to ball dynamics and ball motion. I will start with the ONLY downfall to the LEVEL for me, the 1000 grit out of the box surface was too early and looked like a lane gnome would kick it sideways down between the first and second tracer boards and the ball would immediately go right on me. After playing with the surface in the pro shop on the Innovative Haus machine, I landed on 3000 grit with VISE abralon pads, which hold up very well over the course of time and usage. I found the LEVEL to be smooth like urethane on the front and mid part of the lane, but have a slightly stronger reaction and motion after the second tracer board than the !Q 78U and very predictable Roto Grip X-Ray that I LOVE LOVE LOVE so much. The LEVEL meant my expectation once I tweeted the coverstock to my game and what my “eyes” liked to see in my ball motion. The LEVEL stayed consistent for me during the course of my time on the lanes and once I was locked in, my angles and starting spot did not change much because the LEVEL stayed true to the roll and reaction, once a little carry down occurred on the 33 ft and lighter volume THS, I just need to move a closer to the 13-15 board as my starting spot and close the swing angle down a smidge so that the ball rolled more end over end to keep the energy stored a little more. LOVE the LEVEL on the shorter length patterns from 35 to 39 ft patterns where urethane is not strong enough for me and the X-Ray and even the new Tropical Surge blue/purple solid would be way too strong. On the THS, but lighter and heavier THS the ball struggled inside of the normal track area, it needed to see the friction a little bit earlier than the X-Ray, but would still recover remarkably well. If I square up with the X-Ray, the X-Ray would start its final move towards the pocket at the same point as the LEVEL but would be too strong entering the pins and would leave a bunch of 6 pins or even 4 pins. The LEVEL would stay firm and carry through the pocket and still have enough energy to kick out the corner pins. The LEVEL is NOT designed to be a BIG HOOK IT in the box piece, it was designed to absorb oil,but still be predictable, and still produce better pin carry. Over time the ball will keep the cover profile and will not need resurfacing like balls similar to surfaces. The LEVEL will be replacing my !Q 78u spot. MY ball bags will now consist of: BALL#1 - LEVEL BALL #2 - Roto Grip X-RAY BALL #3 - Storm Lighting Blackout BALL #4 - Roto Grip ROCK STAR - which is now my benchmark ball BALL #5 - Storm Equinox BALL #6 - Roto Grip Attention Star S2 My tournament balls will be: LEVEL, Hustle RIP, Physix Blackout, Zen 25, Attention Star, Idol Cosmos, Hustle X-Ray, Origin and X-Cell depending on pattern lengths. #SquadRG #3Gshoes #BeCoolCrew #ViseInserts

Storm Level Ball Review
I am slightly speed dominant, rev challenged 220-250ish, low tilt and high rotation. The Storm Level is a symmetric reactive that has a RPM solid coverstock and medium flare potential. I drilled mine 4 x 4 x1. My axis point is 1 3/8 up and 4 1/4 right. I love this ball because it is very smooth and allows me to control the lane. ALL NEW LEVEL
-Storm Level- Cover Stock: RPM SOLID (Regenerative Polymer Matrix) RG: 2.59 DIFFERENTIAL: .027 LAYOUT: 4X3.5X3/4 The Level is paired with the new Equalizer a.i. core with the new Regenerative Polymer Matrix cover stock (RPM). This ball is not to be confused with urethane, even though the Level has an extremely smooth reaction this ball is reactive. This ball is about 2-3 boards stronger than my IQ78 and is similar strength to my Zen U. This ball is going to be a great “out of” urethane ball or when urethane is reading the lane too early the Level should give you more length but with a smoother reaction than other bowling balls.

Storm Level
Layout: 30 x 4” x 40 When I first saw the review videos for the Level, I was ecstatic because this type of reaction is exactly what I need for tournaments such as USBC Nationals, where the lane patterns are more difficult. The reaction that I was looking for was an early reading ball that is very controllable, but preferably more overall hook than urethane, also without the negative aspect of pushing oil down the lane. The Level absolutely nails that, while also adding more versatility than expected. This ball will is very usable on fresh house conditions as well, provided there is enough oil in the front of the lane. Overall this ball is a few boards stronger for me than the Pitch Black is, while maintaining more continuation down lane and being much more able to chase the pattern left.

Storm Level Review Rev Rate: 375 Ball Speed: 15-16 mph PAP: 5 inches over, 1/2 inch up Layout: 4 x 5 x 1 (I have attached a link to the Level Ball Review that I did on YouTube. Feel free to check it out!) https://youtu.be/s2TSFGWXkaM?si=RktrS3OoH4ltVi86 The Storm Level is the first ball in the new Lab Series, a new design that has a urethane-ish look but with reactive qualities. You get all of the control of a urethane piece while being able to play the lanes like a reactive ball. A brand new core(Equalizer A.I.) wrapped around a brand new cover(Regenerative Polymer Matrix), this ball will definitely be used more for sport conditions while also being able to be used during league as well. This will be a great “unique” addition to your league and tournament bags.

Storm Level Ball Review by PJ Haggerty
Urethane is becoming more and more pivotal in bowling and Storm continues to be a huge part of the evolution of the game. With rev-rates increasing and players wanting options that allows them to keep their angles straighter, the Storm Level was developed to provide just that. The Pitch Black and IQ 78 were some of the best urethane balls I’ve ever used so to see an upgrade from those is exciting. The Storm Level provides players with a new Equalizer AI Core which features lighter density to create more differential than normal. This allows the ball to flare more, thus hook more, which is necessary in todays game. I’ve drilled one so far and really like it. I drilled it the same way as my favorite Pitch Black which is 4 x 4 x 1. This layout has a very short pin buffer which helps the Level change direction down lane. I’ve also left the surface alone and it’s been a great addition to my bag for several types of patterns. On the shorter patterns, it blends out the friction nicely but on the longer patterns it still picks up and isn’t too quick down-lane. If you haven’t drilled a urethane ball yet, make sure you see your local Storm VIP pro shop so they can measure your specs to accurately drill your Level. Go drill one! #StormNation

LEVEL UP
Storm Level Pattern: 43ft House Layout: 30 x 3 3/4 x 30 Finish: Box (1000-grit) The Storm Level is the first among the new SPI Lab Series of performance bowling balls. Featuring the new Energizer A.I. Core, the Storm Level provides a completely new addition to their lineup. The combination of the new version of the A.I. core and the RPM solid cover-stock provides control with a smooth finish resembling a motion seen in urethane based equipment. However, the Levels cover absorbs oil much faster than most covers, allowing it to maintain its shape. Overall, the Level is a great option if you are looking for a controlled ball motion, and if you need it for heavier volume patterns, I suggest hitting it with a 800 or 500 pad to give in an earlier roll. Level
The all-new Storm Level is the first release in the SPI Lab series. The Level features an entirely new coverstock material called RPM (Regenerative Polymer Matrix). The Level also features a new core design with the Equalizer A.I. core. The ball comes finished at 1000 grit abralon and at 15 pounds it has a high RG of 2.59 with a differential of .027. I took the suggestion of headquarters and drilled the Level with a short pin buffer. I drilled mine at 5x5x1. The Level provides a controlled reaction similar to urethane bowling balls but with more backend motion and much better hitting power. The biggest difference between the Level and urethane bowling balls is where the ball hooks on the lane. Urethane balls are designed to hook in the front part of the lane. The Level with its high RG, provides a much later ball reaction. This ball is a great choice for shorter patterns and tougher tournament conditions where controlling the pocket is important. The Level allows me to play straight up the lane on drier, shorter conditions and the core/cover combination provides good pin carry, much more so than traditional urethane bowling balls. This ball is a niche ball, but it fills a big void in my tournament bag that I have been needing for a long time!

LEVEL Bowling ball
Storm nailed this one. The Level is just like Urethane. But with the power and benefits of Reactive. No more team mate's complaining that your using Urethane. This ball is 100% Reactive with a special mix to roll like Urethane. The Drive through the pins is unmatched!

Storm Level
Level the playing field with this new offering from Storm! This ball fit between urethane and reactive resin, with an emphasis on control and predictability. While the ball reaction is somewhat similar to urethane, the huge difference is the way the Level absorbs oil. This thing absorbs oil insanely fast, and this means the lanes will break down more like if you were throwing a big dull reactive ball, and your reaction with the Level will remain super consistent. This truly is a unique piece, one that is a great control ball for everyone! I use mine game 1 in league to blend em out, and also on flat/short patterns to calm them down. Get yours now!

LANE CONDITION Length: 44ft Volume:Medium Type (THS, Sport Pattern etc):THS COMMENTS Layout: 4 x 5 x 2 VLS WEbsite states: The Storm Level is a high-performance bowling ball that bridges the gap between traditional urethane and reactive resin balls. It features the innovative Equalizer™ A.I. Core, designed to provide a smooth, continuous motion on the lanes. The coverstock utilizes Storm's proprietary Regenerative Polymer Matrix (RPM) technology, which absorbs oil quickly while maintaining its surface integrity over time, ensuring consistent performance throughout a series of games. My Review: Control, Control, Control. That is my best description of The Level. Tested on a broken down THS and I was able to move further right and play the friction without the crazy bounce or hockey stick left turn. For my game its drilled strong so I can optimize the true performance of the cover/core tech and take advantange of the urethane like reaction. With my lower rev-rate I really had to roll it so it could read the midlane. For a solid you can really read the balls transition through the entire lane. Light pocket hits were average for me and will be higher for the bigger revrate players. I see the Level as a higher revrate/2hander bowler dream. I will likely only use on shorter patterns at tournament. This will be ideal to have in your tournament arsenal, because it will be a staple in mine. I did not throw the IQ Tour 78U or Pitch Black, but compared to my ZenU it maintain better oil absorbtion and maintained a cleaner cover after wiping out with a shammy. The Level fits nicely under my IQ Nano Pearl and Badger for tournament and drier conditions. In summary, The Storm Level is an innovative bowling ball that offers a controlled, urethane-like reaction with enhanced continuation, making it suitable for a wide range of bowlers. All new EVERYTHING in the Level
The Level is Storm’s entry into the Urethane-like category. Storm has done a great job describing the reaction of the Level without actually using the word “Urethane.” The Level is designed as a reactive control piece and it’s very good at that. It’s part of Storm’s all new SPI Lab Series of balls, with the new RPM Solid reactive coverstock and the new Equalizer core. The coverstock absorbs oil very quickly - if you go to throw a spare, you’ll still see some oil on the surface, but going back fro the next frame, it’s gone - very un-urethane like. The RG for the ball is extremely high - 2.60 in the 14 pound version I’m throwing, and a relatively low differential that sits square between the Pitch Black and the iQ Tour. Tilt 20. Rotation 50. Speed at cameras 15.5 Review: The new Storm Level was a nice surprise to me. I did not expect as much hook and hit as I am getting with this ball. The Level is new technology from storm and this is not marketing. You can see it in the Level itself. The ball seems to resist lane shine. I have only put maybe 20 games on it at two different houses and only spray cleaned, but it has not glossed yet. One difference about the Level is by the time I get up for my next frame in our 5 man league there is no oil on the surface to shammy off. The absorption rate is fast giving the Level a consistent roll. I have also noticed that the Level goes through the pins as good as or better than any enhanced urethane type ball I have ever used. This ball does not jump or fool you, and you can be aggressive with it knowing it will not get out of control at the breakpoint. When drilling these balls you can tell the cover is visually different than other balls. The level is what I would consider a medium to strong ball with early read and a long arching motion that drives through the pocket. The carry is excellent even on light hits. Once you get lined up with this ball it seems you can stay in your comfort zone for a long time before a move is required. I would put this ball between the Ion Max and Solid Surge in total hook. I think I will drill another and shine it for dryer conditions. If you are looking for a nice strong predicable ball that hits hard this could be the one. I look forward to more balls Lab Series. Summary: The Storm Level is a very controllable ball. The Level has great hit and drives through the pocket hard. This ball is a great start for the Lab Series balls to build o Glenn Wendel Sidewinders Pro Shop Storm Pro Shop Staff gwendel@comcast.net www.stormbowling.com

Storm Level
Coverstock - RPM (Regenerative Polymer Matrix) Solid Finish - 1000-grit Abralon Core - Equalizer A. I. Core RG - 2. 59 Differential - .027 The new Storm Level is first ball in the newly formed Storm Lab Series Line. The Equalizer A.I. Core is a high RG, Low differential core, similar to most urethane cores, wrapped with the brand-new RPM Solid cover, that is predictable and smooth. For me, the Level is the perfect fit between Urethan and traditional resin. When throwing urethane starts to read the lane too early, or just not enough down lane, the Level really shines. IT still picks up earlier than resin, so you can still play similar line as Urethane, but with just a little more motion on the end to get out those flat 10’s. Where this ball really helps me, is on those tricky over/under league conditions. The ball helps me go more direct, but doesn’t overreact off the dry, but picks up enough when you get in oil, but still has enough to finish strong.

Ball Specs: Level Core: Equalizer AI Coverstock: RPM Solid, 1000 grit Abralon Scent: Grapple Review: The Storm Level is the first release in Storm’s Lab Series, designed to blend the controlled motion of urethane with the hitting power of reactive resin, making it ideal for bowlers seeking smooth yet effective motion. The ball promotes a controlled, predictable shape by featuring the Equalizer™ A.I. Core with a high RG (2.59) and low differential (0.027) symmetrical design. It is wrapped in the RPM (Regenerative Polymer Matrix) Solid coverstock, finished at 1000 Abralon, which quickly absorbs oil to maintain consistency while reducing lane shine. On the lanes, the Level provides early read with smooth and predictable motion, offering more continuation than urethane while maintaining control on medium to short oil patterns. Its low flare potential prevents overreaction, allowing for a smooth and manageable shape through the lane. Compared to urethane, the Level delivers more continuation down lane without sacrificing control, and compared to reactive resin, it avoids excessive motion while still offering enough hitting power to carry pins effectively. The Storm Level is a great choice for bowlers looking for urethane-like control with enhanced pin action and versatility, particularly in challenging conditions or on shorter oil patterns. Review with Video
The Level is a unique ball designed to be clean and controllable. It is high RG with low differential designed for the fresh and to keep your angles tight and up the lane. I find this ball to be ideal for fresh conditions and when I want to take the lane out of it on house. I will play in the dry portion of the lane to optimize carry. I have found that if I am a little firm or too much in the oil my carry percentage goes down. If I play more in the friction and the shape is there this ball is very good. I drilled mine pin down for additional cleanliness and to keep my lane play further to the right and up the lane. I have used this ball when I find the lanes cliffed and my stronger balls playing left to right are not carrying. This is a great option to have when opting for control and not looking to create big angles. Also, I can see this being very friendly on shorter sport conditions when control is paramount. This will give a cleaner shape than urethane with more angle through the pins yet still providing plenty of control. https://l.facebook.com/l.php?u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.youtube.com%2Fshorts%2FnmKU2bzQ7oU%3Ffbclid%3DIwZXh0bgNhZW0CMTAAAR35r0sWu7oe9BtrSPVO83raIyExYqoS42kOtGMfpFHEFzmTgMcIY5oVf0Y_aem_4NfhYlvBlVSbvHOqpIXdAQ&h=AT2kAlqGF-SX-i_S6q-WWXFkUN2sXqUZpizblogOKUGe2syTvyvgTtUudw36zvP30LkRr7ugw0oHAsOCT_EtAHx5OoHRE5GbNElDhx6xr4-I4U5a22mWfScEwgUXSC9-cj0IcH1vRYzfkoZ0pAn1bFA&__tn__=-UK-R&c[0]=AT0SzJhhBxYADZEzYvMOgfnG_QBiauN-PXAU6uFKDbhJMu88veok8tkfRewku9tDaBmEn15UtSYGZSEMbfcDBYtk0GI0HgWU3E-yLLXbCwZBDUxgsLHK16Vy9FNyc4XKQ3lLrQ65BYDteM5wp3gM80C6HCl8t9p1i98Rm0Wigvt9lq0pNhqeSoHCv_F-Jc7F73x6e7OkEeDBdg7uD1wHNMg

Level Bowling Ball Review
I drilled my LEVEL at 4 x 4 x 0. I have thrown it at the box finish which is 1000 grit. I went with the strongest pin distance and buffer possible because I have trouble getting the small hook balls like urethane to retain energy at the pins. I can line up and hit the pocket but get 9 counts all day with urethane and really super low flaring balls. This ball is perfect for players like me who want to take advantage of the control of urethane but not shoot several single pins the entire set. I threw it up against my ZEN/U since it is the only urethane I get any movement with. My ZEN/U is smaller hook and set motion. My LEVEL is about 4-5 boards stronger and has a reactive type of movement on the backend of the lane. My pin carry was better than the ZEN/U once the lanes started to loosen up some. I would say drill this one if you are lower rev/slower speed and want a control ball in your arsenal but something that has more hitting power than the Hustle/Electrify lines. It would also complement higher rev rates that like urethane to start when the lanes are tougher and want to transition inside and get hitting power with control.

Storm Level
Storm has created a new line called the LAB series. The first ball in the Lab line is called the LEVEL. All new Equalizer A.I. Core wrapped with a new RPM Solid Reactive coverstock. This ball is not urethane thus does not require to have 78 hardness. High RG (2.59) and low Diff (.027) I drilled mine with a strong layout of 4 x 4 x 2. I am a tweener player these days and when using urethane I cannot create shape or area like the higher rev bowlers. So the Level is perfect for my bowling style. I reminds me of the older 1980-90's urethane motion. I compared the Level against my Zen U on a house shot. The level to me was about 6-7 boards stronger than the Zen U. The level had more motion down lane at the breakpoint. Where with the Zen U I had to play much straighter. I have drilled a few for local bowlers and they all tell me the same thing. Smooth and Controllable! I feel like I have a better chance of success on the shorter sport patters now where before I would struggle with my ball roll. I also think the more surface added the better for me to help create some miss room. Plus the coverstock is unique as it does not absorb oil! Great Addition to the Storm line. The unique cover doesn’t absorb oil as fast as most reactive covers this allows me to have the same ball reaction through out a 3 game league block. Level Up!
Time to LEVEL up your game! Introducing Storm's newest creation in the new Lab Series, the Level! This ball features an all new coverstock, RPM (Regenerative Polymer Matrix), designed to create ball motion like no other material. I drilled mine with a layout of 60 x 4.5 x 35. Testing it at my home center of Cortlandt Lanes, located in Cortlandt Manor, NY, on its 44ft THS, I was extremely impressed with this ball motion. Very versatile, strong midlane traction, and aggressive backend. It almost felt like I was throwing urethane, only the level absorbs the oil. I could stand almost anywhere, playing the lanes with proper hand motion, and different speeds. Going out to the friction, the Level responds with a smooth, controllable finish and not over hook. Playing in the oil, the ball would react smoothly and save its backend motion at the finish. I compared it to my IQ 78D urethane. Urethane tends to read the lanes early and that's what I saw with the 78D as it was finishing straighter. Unlike the 78D, the Level will go longer and stronger to create more traction to be more responsive in the backend. I'm looking very forward to throwing this ball on the shorter patterns if the urethane game is over/under, as well as medium-heavy conditions depending on the mL volume. This just may be the missing piece bowlers need! The Level is one ball that needs to be in every bowler's bag. Be sure to drill one up at your local pro shop today, this is one ball you surely don't want to miss out on!!

Storm Level Ball Review Layout-VLS 4x4x1 Surface -1000 Grit Dull Storm has created a unique ball motion here with the new Level. The level will bridge the gap between your urethane and reactive bowling balls but with a very smooth ball motion. The level is a reactive ball with a quicker oil absorption rate then your typical urethane balls and maintain its surface grit for a longer period of time. I compared the Level against the IQ Tour 78/U and the Level was about 3-5 boards stronger with more midlane motion than the 78/U. I feel like the Level will be a great on those shorter oil patterns or on those wet/dry house patterns. Storm Level Coverstock: Regenerative Polymer Matrix (RPM) Finish: 1000 Grit Abralon Core: Equalizer A.I. (14pd.) RG: 2.60 Differential: 0.026 Layout: 4 x 4 x 4 5/8 - 2LS Layout Extras: 2 1/8 Finger Depth, "X" - 4 1/2 D and 1 Inch Left Tester: PAP 6 1/2 R, 1 1/4 D Viewable Review: https://youtu.be/UK6fJOyFQOY?si=N0fjC-SZszOpGmya Review: The all new cover/core Level from SPI is a new standard for smoother transition on house patterns and should shine on short oil patterns. The new Equalizer core is designed to respond slower to friction providing the player maximum control. The RPM coverstock is where the "new" comes into play. This coverstock absorbs oil allowing the player to stay in the Level longer than traditional urethane type offerings. When the initial announcement came out from SPI regarding the Level I already had the mindset that as long as I'm not rolling in a PBA event, I'll stick with the Pitch Black and Fast Pitch offerings. To my surprise the Level created more shape then my Pitch Black and was more usable after a few games compared to the Fast Pitch. In addition, the Level transitioned smoother down the lane compared to the Tropical Surge Navy/Purple. As for the !Q Tour 78-U, the Level will shape more for most style of players. Pro Tip: For those that traditionally tend to dislike urethane or urethane-ish offerings, don't hesitate to surface your new ball to a higher grit like 3K or 4K than gradually bring the surface down to your 1K or 500K grit. The reason being most bowlers dislike the early motion of the ball oob and give up before letting the lane shine and peaks of the ball to settle in a bit. If you have had this experience previously give the surface suggestion the "good old college try". I think this pro tip might just work for you. I think you may find a great use for this ball when planning out your tournament adventures. I highly recommend the Level. From my understanding, it’s a urethane-esque shape, but with significant oil absorption instead of oil dragging that you see with a typical urethane bowling ball. That information right there was enough to sell me on the ball. It does come pretty dull, out of the box at 1000 grit, but in the shots that I threw, it didn’t really act like a normal 1000 grit reactive ball. I bowled on a fresh THS and was able to stand much further right than I typically would with any reactive piece and the ball shaped very well. When I was forced to throw urethane, the second I had to move even the slightest bit left I was caught in a 4 pin/flat 10 pin reaction that would get incredibly frustrating. With this, I was able to move left and still watch the ball shape off the dry, and have a very nice rounded motion downlane without running out of steam. Even at a dull surface it still wouldn’t read the lane as early as urethane and maintained energy downlane much better. I can certainly see this being a great piece for sport patterns, the Open Championships, or even for some drier house patterns when swinging the lane isn’t working. A very interesting release from the people at Storm and one I’m looking at using in a plethora of tournaments. Brent Ritchie SPI Pro Shop Staff Member

The Lab brings you the LEVEL
TESTING ENVIRONMENT Length:42 Type (THS, Sport Pattern etc): House Shot BALL: Storm LEVEL Coverstock: RPM Solid Coverstock Core: : Equalizer A.I. Core Finish: 1000 Grit RG: 2.60 (14 Pounds) Differential: 0.026 (14 Pounds) MB/PSA: N/A (14 Pounds) ME: Right-Handed Tweener Speed: 13-14 mph Rev Rate: 210 PAP: 5 1/2 right 1/4 up Ball Layout: 3x4x1 The Lab Series is the future of exclusive bowling ball performance. The LEVEL is the first ball in this new line. The LEVEL tho not urethane is going to give you that same-ish reaction. Like a urethane they hook quickly in the heads and just roll. What I have seen from this ball is it floats in the front part of the lane and will hook up without breaking off line too quickly. For me when I have surface on this ball looks great but after a game or so it tends to get too clean and I have to jump into a ball like the new 900 Global Zen 25 on the house shot. I am going to shine this ball up and see what it does with polish as recommended by Matt Mcneil. The video is live on Youtube and you can see an early hook with a fresh surface and then where it tames down and Darrell saw the same thing on the left side of the lane.
