Technology is in our DNA!
WHEN SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY COLLIDE
We start from the innermost part, the weight block, and work our way out. In this case, it’s the inventive Supercoil weight block. The intent was to develop a super low RG shape with a greater undrilled intermediate differential. Traditionally, weight blocks with more of the mass placed around the equator drive the RG down and read the midlane better. The cutaway on the Y-axis helps to maintain dynamic integrity after drilling. When it’s time, the coverstock is poured. In just a few minutes as the liquid transitions to a solid, an extreme amount of heat (about 200 °F) needs to be released for this to happen.
IT'S ALL WITHIN US
We refer to this as “exotherm”. This stage in the process is crucial to the chemistry of the coverstock and by controlling the peak temperature, heat rate, and cooldown speed we can manipulate the chemical porosity deep within that helps with oil absorption and displacement. This creates caverns of porosity and cliffs so deep which give this state-of-the-art shell the kind of cutting-edge traction that’ll leave you in awe. Enter: EXO Reactive coverstock.

DNA Review by Sandy McIntire
I am a higher speed, rev challenged 220-250ish, high tilt, high rotation, and super low track player, I drilled my Storm DNA 5x3x2 using the Storm VLS and my axis point is 3 ¼ right and 7/8 up. The Storm DNA is a very strong asymmetric ball that reads the midlane well and has continuation through the pins. However, I did drill a 14lbs ball equating to a higher RG and smaller diff, which does not serve me well. If I were to drill another ball I would consider drilling a 15lbs ball, so I can get the benefits of the lower RG and bigger Diff. Overall, the ball is responsive and I see myself using this on heavier to medium volumes of oil. My YouTube video of the ball can be found at: https://youtu.be/HBRwxdeByaE

Wow!
“The DNA has been a great addition to the bag. Often times, my Reality or Gem were too strong for the shot, but the step down was too weak. Well, this DNA has filled that slot. For me, it rolls like a stronger phaze 2, with it being a tad earlier and more hook overall. If you need a good first ball out of your bag on house, or a good 2nd ball on sport patterns, I'd give the DNA a shot!”

It’s in your DNA
For me the DNA has been a really good step above a Phaze ll. Once it got a little bit of lane shine on it which happened pretty quickly it immediately gave me Phaze ll vibes. Although the DNA is crazy strong cover and core wise as soon as it lane shined it was getting down-lane just like a Phaze ll would for me but the only difference was the DNA is a touch more forward but not a lot! I also enjoy it a lot when I put it back to 3000 or even 2-1000. Then it becomes a comparable option to a reality for me. Overall for a ball of this strength it can still be pretty clean and can still open a lane up pretty well! But all in all if your looking for a similar but stronger option to a Phaze ll then look no further than the DNA!

DNA is the new big solid asym in the Storm family. For me, this ball is in the same vein as the Reality. While being big, strong and early, both still manage to store energy and maintain a high carry percentage. The DNA is a touch cleaner and more dynamic overall, making it a great balance of control and continuation. DNA allows me to play more in the oil and create more traction and control, but i don't have to sacrifice any pin carry or throw a ball that is "slower". Overall, the DNA is quickly becoming my go-to big ball.

The new solid Asymmetrical ball in the premier line is the DNA. The DNA has a brand new Supercoil weight block and wrapped it with the EXO solid coverstock. I'm normally not a big fan of big strong Aysm. solids as they just don't match up with my ball roll. But the DNA is an exception, as for solid the DNA has a lot of motion downlane! I drilled mine with a 4.25 inch pin up. I used the DNA first on the house pattern, and was very impressed. The DNA got down the lane better than expected and had a lot of backend motion. The DNA handle the puddle with ease and it didn't quit or labor when it hit the dry outside boards. I have used the DNA with Storm Step 2 and while bowling on sport patterns I have added 2000 pad to help the ball motion with good success. I have the DNA below the Reality and Gem, but to me it rolls like a beefed up Phaze 2. Its not flippy at all, but just a strong rolling arc. Really a different motion in the SPI line. Great Addition! I drilled 2 DNA’s. (5 x 4 x 2 ¾) and (5 x 4 x 4) Both reactions are similar, but the pin up one rolls more forward down lane which is good on more oil and the pin down one is good when the lanes are a little drier. I don’t use the DNAs on Fresh, I use them when I move left and need the ball to slow down in oil. Most of the sport conditions I bowl on are flatter in the middle when moving left, so I use the pin down DNA to control the Midlane. I have never used the ALPHA Crux, but it feels like this is a similar shape but with more down lane. Compared to the Super Nova, the DNAs over all hook less which is not always a bad when needing an asymmetrical ball to be controlled. The colors are like the Phaze 2, so it is sometimes hard to see which bowling ball is being used, but overall, it is a staple ball in my bag.

DNA creates a strong bond with the lane
I drilled my DNA 4.75x4x4 2LS to match the layout on my Reality. The new SuperCoil core really does what it says. Even though the DNA is wrapped in an extremely strong Exo Solid coverstock, the core real helps this ball shape off the end of the pattern. Compared to my Reality, the DNA goes 2-3ft further downland before it gets into the hook phase, and it covers several more boards left to right than my Reality. I think this piece is going to be really good for lower rev players that need to cover boards on higher volume patterns and see more downline shape than the Reality provides. Personally this ball is not for me, but I can see this being a great option for lower power players, and a great piece on longer/higher volume patterns.

And with the winning combination of the new Supercoil Core and EXO Solid Reactive coverstock, the DNA brought some pin-crushing results. So, let's take a closer look at what makes the DNA a potent weapon to add to your arsenal. Storm has done a brilliant job in developing the new Supercoil Core. I like how the Supercoil Core reads the lane more methodically than other big asymmetric cores. It has a clean rhythmic motion that starts more in the mid-lane. And I liked how the Supercoil Core progressively builds momentum as it continues down the lane. And being a straighter player, I enjoyed the Supercoil Core's ability to turn that momentum into potent raw power. And that power translated to a destructive explosion at the pins and a relentless driving continuation through the deck. So, no doubt, straighter players like me will love the results from the Supercoil Core! Continuing the DNA's success is the EXO Solid Reactive Coverstock. From my first roll on a fresh THS, I loved the EXO Solid's biting traction from the moment the DNA hit the lane. And being a straighter player, I could count on the EXO's course texture to deliver a smooth, consistent motion through all sixty feet of the lane. Further, as the night went on, I especially liked how the EXO Solid Reactive blended the over-under conditions that developed as the night continued. And if you are looking to play around urethane and the heavy carry-down it presents, look no further. The EXO Solid Reactive will give you the confidence to play far right and still have plenty of power to spare at the pocket! So if you are a straighter, low-rev player like me. You can count on the EXO Solid Reactive Coverstock will keep you in contention all night against many adverse lane conditions! In conclusion, the DNA is a strong and outstanding new release from Storm. The brilliant combination of Supercoil Core and EXO Solid Reactive coverstock makes the DNA an excellent choice for straighter low-rev players like me. And for those down and in players looking for that "edge" to compete against the modern power game, then the DNA will be a great weapon to keep you in contention all night long! Storm DNA Coverstock: EXO Solid Reactive Core: Supercoil Factory Finish: 2000 grit Layout: 5 x 4 x 4 Storm’s new Premier line ball is the DNA. I drilled my DNA exactly like my Infinite Physix with a 5 x 4 x 4 layout putting the pin in my middle finger. After some practice, use in league, and use on a 40 ft sport pattern, the DNA and Infinite seem to have similar overall hook potentials. The difference I see is in the covers, which were both at 2000 grit for comparison purposes. The new EXO Solid Reactive cover on the DNA seems to have a larger footprint and definitely bleeds off energy earlier than the Infinite. Although I hit the Infinite with 2000, its ReX Pearl cover seems cleaner and a touch quicker on the backend. I expect that the DNA will have more use on the fresh and as the fronts dry up and/or push a bit, the Infinite Physix will come into play. The DNA is going to be a perfect fit for rev challenged and/or speed dominant players. I also think it’s going to be great at blending lanes and controlling sport patterns. Review
The next big hook monster is the DNA. Featuring a new cover/core combination we see a strong low RG asym that doesn't quit. I am beyond impressed with this ball and think it will be the next big thing and go down in Storm's history as one of the most popular asym solids of all time. Think of your Alpha Crux, Sure Lock and Code X level of popularity and this is where I believe the DNA will be in line with. I have thrown this ball a few times and am impressed with how much it continues even as the lanes transition forcing myself deeper and deeper into the lane. Historically, these bigger solids tend to quit as we see a lot of transition although I have yet to see that with the DNA. In league, I have been able to throw it all the way until the end of the night and it continues as well as it did in game 1. This ball will be very versatile and adjust well to different surface changes. This will be great for a variety of lane conditions as well.

DNA
It’s in our DNA. The all new DNA is a brand new ball with a brand new cover and core combination that we have never seen. The all new Supercoil weight block was developed to create a super low RG shape with a greater undrilled intermediate differential. This combined with the new “Exotherm” coverstock that will give you the traction that you are looking for in a strong asymmetric bowling ball. I have seen a lot of great things out of this ball so far. For me this ball is stronger and quicker off the spot than a ball like the Reality. I find myself using this ball early in blocks and/or on longer or high volume oil patterns. Make sure you go out and get yours today. Layout: 40 x 5 ⅜ x 25

Storm DNA
Storm’s newest premier line ball is the DNA of what they stand for. This ball features a brand new cover and core combination, starting with the Supercoil weight block that yields an RG of 2.47, Differential of 0.053 and PSA of 0.023 and is wrapped around the EXO Solid coverstock. I drilled mine 5.5 x 5 x 5 and when I first got this ball I was super excited for it because I have had such success with the Proton Physix and Super Nova. Looking at the numbers I thought this ball would be as early and kinda lazy on the back like the Roto Grip Gem was but after throwing this ball for a little bit I was shocked on how much this ball actually continued on the backend. I would say its more of a stronger/earlier version of the 900 Global Reality more than the previous balls I mentioned. I can see myself using this ball as a number #2 ball right after my Proton or Super Nova because its going to be just as strong but offer me a touch more continuation and before balls like the Zen Soul and Eternity. If you feel like solid asymmetrical balls haven’t matched up to your game because they are just too strong but still want to give it a try your going to want to grab a DNA because it gives you the best of both worlds.

Storm DNA
Layout: 60 x 4 5/8 x 35 The biggest compliment that I can give the DNA is that it rolls like a stronger, beef-ed up Phaze II. Indeed, I see a similar motion between the two, with the DNA being 2-3 boards stronger overall. Even though this ball is a touch cleaner in the front part of the lane than the Gem or Super Nova, it can still handle any heavy or fresh oil conditions. The DNA has a massive amount of midlane roll without detracting from its entry angle. The DNA fits perfectly between balls such as the aforementioned Gem or Super Nova, and the strong shiny asyms such as the Exotic Gem or Absolute.

Out of Box ball motion starts in the mid lane with a smooth motion on the backend. I took a 2k and 3k Abralon afterwards and it was still started in the mid lane with a few boards more on the backend motion. I compared this to the Storm Super Nova & IQ Tour. Storm Super Nova cleaner through the fronts and is 2-3 stronger. IQ Tour was a similar line but stronger on the backend. If you are looking for an Asym Solid that gets length and smooth backend this is the piece to have in the bag. I got a medium continuous cleaner asym that creates a TON more backend that I was expecting! The DNA is much cleaner overall than the Super Nova, Gem and Reality. The Reality was the “tippy big ball” before the DNA. I think the DNA now takes that spot. I’ve never seen a solid Asym come off the spot as hard as the DNA. It really hits the dry and keeps hooking. Usually I can’t drill the bigger asyms pin up because they stand up too much with my ball roll. That is not the case with the DNA. It creates plenty of backend even with my pin up layout. It almost feels like an asym Phaze 2 more than a giant solid asym. The DNA is a unique piece.

DNA Ball Specs: Coverstock: EXO Solid Reactive with 2000 Grit Finish Core: Supercoil (Asymmetric) Fragrance: Strawberry Shortcake Review: Looking for a new asymmetric solid? Look no further then the new DNA. This ball comes with the new Supercoil core and the new EXO cover. This ball gets plenty of traction from the new cover. From what I saw this ball was slightly stronger than my Reality. I went with a pin down layout on this ball. It gave me a very smooth ball motion that got through the fronts but had plenty of mid lane motion. I plan on using this ball early and often on tournaments with higher volumes and at leagues where the center tends to put out higher volumes. I can see this being a good ball for lower rev bowlers who may struggle getting a bowling ball to hook. This ball is going to pick up at the mid lane and give them a nice smooth reaction to the pocket. Make sure you pick one up when these get released! Looks like a duck, quacks like a duck…not a duck No seriously, The DNA looks like a Phaze2, Rolls like an Asym. Phaze2…Definitely NOT a Phaze2. The DNA has the all new combo of the Exo solid Cover and the Supercoil core. This ball defines smooth, predictable, hard hitting. The pins seem to stay low all the way through the pin deck. As long as the lanes aren’t hooking too much in the front, This ball is such a great benchmark ball. I know exactly where I need to go after this ball starts burning up in the fronts, which seems to be the typical thing for it to do. I actually smoothed the cover to a light 4000, just so I could stay in it a bit longer! This one should not be passed up! I used my typical pin up layout: 5x4x2 Balls getting a lot of play Infinite Physix: 5x4x2 Eternity: 5x4x2 Phaze4: 5x4x2 Fate: 5x4x2

Ball Specs: Storm DNA 2000-Grit Abralon EXO™ Solid Reactive Weight Block: Supercoil™ Core (Asymmetrical) Color: Red/Black/Violet Review: An all-new core and cover combo is here… Storm’s DNA. Before drilling we expected this ball to be different. Looking at the numbers you can see this big asymmetrical solid has an unconventional low RG and high differential. We drilled this ball with our normal layout: tweener, 350-375 revs, 16.5mph, layout of choice is 4x4x2 (pin is above bridge). We were surprised at how different this big solid is compared to that of a Super Nova, Gem, or Reality. The DNA really stands out compared to these and is much more versatile due to its ability to get through the lane a little cleaner and less flare. This ball will be best used for medium to oily conditions when the Super Nova or Gem is a little too much too early. This ball is suitable for all skill levels and overall we are really happy with the gap that this fills in the Storm line of products. Storm DNA review by Ethan Fiore
The New Storm DNA has the Exo Solid Coverstock and the Supercoil Core. When I got the DNA, it impressed me with the shape it made. A lot of midlane control and wasn’t too angular through the pins. When I compared it to my Absolute with the same layout, I saw that they both complimented eachother. Read the same part of the lane, just in fractionally different spots. While the DNA hooked earlier and more forward towards the pins, the Absolute read the spot more angular. I have very high hopes for this one and want to see a lot of success with the DNA! The first thing that I noticed with this ball is that it is cleaner than other big asym balls that are out there. The DNA still allows to have great mid lane read but gives you that continuous motion downlane. The box surface is a great starting point if you need the ball to read earlier. The cover is also going to allow for surface changes very easily. This ball is going to be a great option for when you want something like your proton physix but allows you to see more motion. With being higher ball speed off my hand this is a great ball to start with and use for a majority of league. This ball is going to be great for a variety of bowlers whether you are high speed or high rev rate. This ball is a great ball will be great for heavier patterns or your weekly leagues. DNA
The new Storm DNA features the all new EXO solid reactive coverstock finished at 2000 grit abralon and the new Supercoil Asymmetric core. The 15 pound DNA has a low RG of 2.47 with a differential of .053 and an intermediate diff of .023. I drilled the DNA at my usual 5 x 4 x 2 for my slower ball speed and higher rev rate. I was a little skeptical at the release of another “big” asymmetrical, I mean how different could it be from the Super Nova, Nova, or previous releases. Well, this DNA is different. For me it is much more playable, and what I mean by that is I can throw this ball longer than previous asymmetricals if given enough oil. The DNA needs oil, that’s a given. However this isn’t just another big ball where once you need to open your angles, it needs to find its way back into your bag in favor of another ball. The DNA has more downlane motion than the Super Nova and Nova, probably due to the difference in the core. On errant shots to the right I could usually expect a weak ten pin with the Novas, but the DNA seems to have an extra gear that gets it not only back to the pocket but gets it to go through the pins the right way. Don’t misunderstand me, this isn’t a stand left, throw it right and watch it hockey stick back, but this ball does seem more forgiving on the heavy oil, longer patterns than most of its predecessors.
