The HP2 Line is SOOOOO BACK BABY!

That’s right, after a brief hiatus, we felt there was no better time than now to resurrect and revitalize this gap in our product line. We saw the posts, we heard the cries, we read the messages, we heard the yells, we jotted down the in-person requests. You SPOKE; we LISTENED!

From the start we knew that to make the HP2 Line great again, we had to re-imagine what the overall performance from this line of balls should react like. And trust us when we say that this was not an easy task. Multiple bowling styles and countless tests paved the way to our final decision to bring back and modify this legend to battle the conditions and beat up lane surfaces of today. Trust us, you won’t be disappointed!

So, whether you need something a bit stronger than your favorite Hustle, or you need a good step-down ball from your more aggressive higher end stuff, this wrecking ball has you covered. From the PURE-Response Hybrid coverstock to the Wrecker + AI Core on the inside, this ball checks all the boxes. Versatility – CHECK!... Clean through the heads – CHECK!... Reaction down lane – CHECK!... Style & Appeal – CHECK! Trust us when we say YOU NEED THIS IN YOUR BAG!

The Wrecker line had a brief hiatus, Roto Grip felt there was no better time than now to resurrect and revitalize this gap in their product line. They saw the posts, they heard the cries, they read the messages, they heard the yells, they jotted down the in-person requests. You SPOKE; and they LISTENED! PRODUCT DETAILS COVER STOCK: PURE-ResponseTM Hybrid Reactive CORE: WreckerTM + A.I. Core Technology COLOR: Cherry / Old Gold / Wine FINISH: Power EdgeTM CONDITION: Medium Oil FLARE POTENTIAL: Medium-High Rg 2.59 Diff .046 The WRECKER™ + A.I. CORE TECHNOLOGY The higher RG Value provides more length or tumble, while the medium amount of differential increases the potential of direction change. In comparison to the Hustle™ Core, this shape will provide more length and more overall change of direction. Now, pair that with our proven A.I. Core Technology, and you get the ULTIMATE amount of motion that everyone needs in the bag. If you love predictability because I know I do then the Ultimate Wrecker provides it with ease! The PURE-ResponseTM Hybrid Reactive gives that nice even motion from the midlane to the backend part of the lane. I’m able to play slightly straighter on a house shot, and even when they are broken down, or when the lanes start to transition, I can move right, keep my angles just a little closer to the pocket, and still provide that shape and length that I’m looking for. This ball is amazing and gives that same nostalgic feeling of the OG Wrecker some years ago. If you had and loved the Wrecker, you will definitely enjoy the Ultimate Wrecker! Roto Grip Ultimate Wrecker My updated specs: Rev rate 420’s, ball speed 15.3 to 15.8 mph off the hand, axis tilt of 16 degrees and axis rotation of 70 degrees, PAP is 3 15/16th up 3/16th. Tested on Pro-lane surface on a 43ft medium volume house pattern and on HPL on Wiper V2. Coverstock: Pure Response Hybrid coverstock Core: Wrecker + A.I. outer core technology Factory Finish: Power Edge My layouts: 2x5x1 at factory finish and 2x6x4 at 2000 Ab. After drilling my first Roto Grip Ultimate Wrecker at a 2x5x1 and trying to use it on THS and Viper patterns, I realized that this layout was a little too strong off of the pattern and basically OUT HOOKED anything I currently have once the ball got to the end of the patterns. To me it was very hook or miss. I needed to get the ball to boards 1-3 right before the breakpoint and if I did not, I missed the pocket by a good bit. It was a very “conditional” layout. So, I decided to have Earl Burger at ABC North Lanes in Harrisburg to drill my second one with a layout and desired surface that he would recommend for me. Well, UW#2 is simply AMAZING and a HUGE “pin wrecker” for me on both the THS and Viper patterns I have been bowling on lately. The reaction was later down lane, not as drastic and more predictable and more to what I “like” to see in the overall ball reaction down lane. Because I did not have to have it tip on BOARD 1 to keep it on my side of the pocket. The Ultimate Wrecker is not a “tame” ball by any means. The U.W. is strong for being in the HP2 line from Roto Grip, the proven Wrecker core is back and better because we added the A.I. outer core technology to give it more POP through the pins. The U.W. can be used by any level of bowler out there because it has a great balance of great core and very proven coverstock to make it a benchmark ball for the upcoming fall leagues. The 2x6x4 Ultimate Wrecker will be new #2 ball in my fall league bag along with a fresh Roto Grip Rock Star and RST Hyperdrive. It will fit nicely between them two. Roto Grip has officially unleashed the Ultimate Wrecker, finally filling that critical HP2 gap in their lineup! This isn't just a comeback; it's an evolution. It features an updated Wrecker core with the revolutionary AI Outer Core. My 14-pound version boasts a high 2.59 RG and a 0.046 differential, wrapped in the enhanced Pure Response Hybrid coverstock (a souped-up version of the VTC found on the Hustle and Hyped lines). Having heard tales of the original Wrecker line - especially the Wreck-Em, my anticipation for the Ultimate Wrecker was sky-high. My first few throws on a used house shot, however, were a head-scratcher; the ball seemed to sail endlessly, refusing to drive through the pins as expected. A quick surface adjustment—a light scuff with a 1500 Tru-Cut pad—transformed it into exactly what I expected to see. This minor tweak brought the reaction closer, slowed the ball down exactly when needed, and finally started kicking the 10 pins out. This experience is a powerful reminder: don't let initial reactions define your ball. A simple chat with your pro shop operator can unlock the true potential of your equipment, possibly turning frustration into your new favorite ball. The Roto Grip H2 Line is back!!! Roto Grip introduces a new look to an old classic. The new Ultimate Wrecker features the Wrecker AI core wrapped in Pure Response Hybrid coverstock finished with Power Edge. At 15 pounds the RG is 2.54 and the differential is .045. I drilled mine 4x4x2 which puts the pin above my middle finger. This ball fills a huge void in my bag. It is a nice bridge from my high-performance symmetrical balls to my higher RG skid/flip reaction balls. The Ultimate Wrecker allows me to close my angles and stay closer to the dry than the stronger bowling balls. The coverstock provides excellent length even through burnt up heads. The backend reaction is a controlled arcing finish which provides great pin action and helps avoid those big ugly splits. This ball will be a must have for tournament bowlers and will be useful to many styles on many different lane conditions. We knew we missed the H2 line, but we didn’t realize just how much we missed it until we threw the Ultimate Wrecker. Don’t miss your chance at what is sure to be the sleeper release of the summer.

  • Versatility!

The new Ultimate Wrecker from Roto Grip is easily my favorite league ball right now. The versatility is unmatched. It's enough ball for fresh oil if my angles are a little straighter, and then the reaction only gets better as the night goes on and the track area develops and I can move left and open up. I drilled mine on the strong side with a 4x4x2, this way the clean cover and medium strength core don't miss the breakpoint if I happen to throw it less than stellar. The higher RG of 2.54 and medium differential of .045 allow this ball to continue through the pin deck quite convincingly, which everyone likes to see. I see this one being a great choice for multiple styles of players due to how many things this ball does and does very well. Absolutely a fantastic choice for league!

The Roto Grip Ultimate Wrecker, with its striking gold and red pearl cover, blends eye-catching looks with impressive performance on medium oil patterns. Featuring an RG of 2.54 and a differential of 0.045, it offers a strong mid-lane roll and angular backend reaction, making it more dynamic than the newer Roto Grip Hustles. While the Hustles provide smoother, more controlled motion ideal for lighter oil and beginners, the Ultimate Wrecker delivers a stronger overall hook and better continuation for bowlers seeking more aggression downlane.

The hybrid cover with the new Power Edge polish gave it the cleaner path to the breakpoint and the stroinger angular motion I required. The Ultimate Wrecker is a tamer Storm Journey and slightly earlier than my Revenant with the same layouts. The Amplified Inertia "A.I." core gives it better carry on light hits and predictability. After 25 games I have the confidence in using the UW more on THS patterns. Feels real comfortable in playing the track area as a tweener and getting left if need be. Slimilar shape as my UC2 but with a bolder motion. As always cover is surface change friendly, but I prefer the OOB polish version. The newest addition to the HP2 RG Line is the Ultimate Wrecker. I was a huge fan of the original Wrecker. So when RG Schlem decided to bring it back I was pretty excited. Same original Wrecker Core with AI technology and a PURE-Response Hybrid Reactive cover. I drilled mine 4.75 x 4 x 1.75 pin above middle finger. I have only got to use the Wrecker on our House Shot. I was forced a little left on the fresh as the backend motion was pretty strong, not flippy just a hard arcing motion. But it gives me that good medium Roto Grip motion, where it reads the midlane and continues through the pins. Its a great compliment to the Rock Star as when it starts to labor a little. The Ultimate Wrecker is still stronger than the IQ's series, Hyroads, and Zen 25 to me. But beneath the Rock Star, Phaze 2, and the bigger Asymmetrical bowling balls. Great Addition to the RG Line! Roto Grip Ultimate Wrecker I've been in the pro shop business since 2006, and the original Wrecker is probably in the top 3 top selling balls I've ever had in the shop, so seeing the Wrecker name return is a very welcome sight. The original Wrecker was a menace on medium-light oil conditions, which is what I essentially see out of the Ultimate, though I do think the Ultimate is stronger overall. The Ultimate gets through the fronts very easily, but picks up in the midlane enough to handle medium oil patterns. Overall, the versatility of this ball to handle both medium and medium-light oil patterns makes it a great ball to have in your arsenal. I do consider this ball to have a slightly bigger overall footprint than the other recent Storm release, the Typhoon.

Review by Nicholas Hogan on the Ultimate Wrecker The Ultimate Wrecker starts to pick up a little in the mids for me and has a pretty good violent reaction. If that is something you are looking for this is definitely your ball. This ball really isn’t for me. I don’t match up with it but I definitely have some niche spots where I can use it. Hybrids and I don’t get along and the pattern has to be something pretty special for me to pull a hybrid ball out. I just have a weird tilt and how I throw the ball typically goes pretty forward. That being said, I believe people will love the shape of this ball, when the lanes are a little beat up from play, this one will wreck right through it. The Ultimate Wrecker is the newest addition to the HP2 line at Roto Grip. This part of the line always reminds me of the equipment that you get the most out of for the money you spend. After having success with the original Wrecker many years ago, it’s awesome to see an upgraded version be released and it still packs the same punch it did back then. Our excellent minds in Utah upgraded the original Wrecker Core with AI technology and the cover is now a hybrid coverstock, giving players a versatile ball on many conditions a nice option to have in their bag. I’ve drilled one so far and think it’s excellent. It’s mapped out as 4.25 x 4 x 2. This puts the pin above my ring finger and I left the surface alone out of the box. As lane beds continue to get beat up, balls with higher RG numbers (this ball is 2.54) and solid differentials (this ball is .045), these numbers will be more and more valuable over time. The Ultimate Wrecker is a perfect compliment to my Rock Star, Origin EX, and Equinox. I’m able to create more shape left-to-right with it and it comes off the spot with some serious motion. Go drill one!

The Wrecker is FINALLY back!! Even before i threw Storm equipment, I knew this one matched up well to me. This is the perfect example of a clean benchmark-type medium ball. Like other mid-RG mid-Diff symmetrical balls, the Ultimate Wrecker goes a few feet longer and transitions a little more smoothly, but unlike those other balls, the Ultimate Wrecker REALLY continues through the pins. Comparable balls for me tend to get lopey/tumbly downlane, but the Ultimate Wrecker never quits hooking. This ball has been great for me on medium/blended friction, and with so many centers now having so much built-in friction, this ball is a must-have for me in the middle of my bag.

This ball is an excellent weak transition ball. When the stronger to medium performance balls go away, as they become too strong and lazy, the Ultimate Wrecker is a great step-down ball. If you prefer tighter angles and migrating back to the right (for righties) this will be an option to go to. I will bring either this or the IQ AI as the weakest ball in my bag for league play on house. If bowling on patterns, pending the pattern, there is enough differential in the shapes and performance to justify bringing both the IQ AI and Wrecker. I see more length out of the Wrecker against the IQ AI given the higher RG nature of the Wrecker. This ball will clear the front part of the lane and provide good mid lane read with control off the back end. If you’re looking for that weaker piece, the Ultimate Wrecker fits that niche.

Ball Specs: Storm Ultimate Wrecker Cover: Power Edge PURE-Response™ Hybrid Reactive Core: Wrecker™ + A.I. Core (Symmetrical) Color: Cherry/Old Gold/Wine Review: Finally, a new HP2 Ball! This is one of those staple balls we look forward coming into our shop for many reasons. The color is nostalgic and the performance to money spent is well worth it (yes this matters to a novice bowler looking to step up from a Tropical Surge or a first ball purchase of something a bit more than “entry level”). This ball also serves many purposes for the traditional league bowler as well as seasoned tournament veteran. The Ultimate Wrecker could be used to fill the gap for a traditional league bowler who either does not have a symmetrical piece of equipment or has not yet experienced a hybrid coverstock to help stay to the right part of the lane on those nights where you may run into some dry conditions. This ball is also a must have for the seasoned tournament veteran who needs a ball to get through the dry conditions late in a block without having to move against the ball return. We drilled this ball with our normal layout: tweener, 350-375 revs, 16.5mph, layout of choice is 5x4x2 (pin is above bridge). For us it provides us with all the above. This line has been missed! Ball Specs: Ultimate Wrecker Cover: Pure Response Hybrid Reactive Core: Wrecker with AI Technology Review: I took the Roto Grip Ultimate Wrecker out for a few league nights, and it didn’t take long to figure out what kind of ball this is. It’s clean through the front, smooth in the middle, and gives a nice pop off the back without going wild. It’s not a ball that tries to do too much; it just does what you need it to. For me, this ball came to life once the lanes started to transition. When my stronger ball started grabbing too early, I switched to the Ultimate Wrecker, and it gave me exactly what I was looking for: more length and a controlled but noticeable hook to the pocket. I didn’t feel like I had to fight it or baby it at the release. It just read the lane the right way. The backend isn’t super snappy, but it’s strong and very readable. It gives you that smooth arc that you can trust, and it still hits with plenty of power. I’ve had great curry with this ball, especially on lighter volume patterns or late in blocks when I needed something to stay clean up front but still finish. The Ultimate Wrecker is Roto Grips newest HP2 line ball. The HP2 line has been lacking for some time now. Ive felt like the jumps from Hustles to IDOL/Rockstar hasn’t been bridged very well for a while. The Ultimate Wrecker features Pure Response Hybrid wrapped around the Wrecker AI core. The hybrid coverstock provides the right amount of length with a good amount of backend punch. This ball was released at the right time for summer where drying lanes tend to be more prevalent. The Ultimate Wrecker is smooth, reliable and very predictable. To bring to light a similar ball for Roto Grip fans, the Hyped Hybrid quickly comes to mind. Layout: 4 1/2 x 4 x 4 1/4 Surface: Power Edge Rev Rate: 470 RPM Tilt: 13* The Wrecker is back and so is the Roto Grip HP2 line! This time with AI Core Technology! The Wrecker AI core is paired with the new Pure Response Hybrid cover finished with Power Edge and designed for medium oil conditions. There has not been a Roto Grip HP2 ball since the Hyped Series, so this was a well needed ball in the lineup. I was able to test this Ultimate Wrecker on a broken down 44ft typical house pattern. My intent of the layout was for a clean response and controllable backend for medium oil transitioned lanes. This is what I got out of the ball. The higher RG got the ball through the front well and easy while the moderate differential core got me enough midlane reaction to continue through the pins correctly. My first few shots showed that the ball was actually cleaner than I expected. When I got the ball a little firmer off my hand, it gave me a little too much length. When I stayed softer with my ball speed, the ball read the lane nicely and angled well through the pins. This ball is definitely a step from the Hustle Line balls but still a good step down from all the HP3 and HP4 lines. I would recommend the Ultimate Wrecker for anyone looking for a new and weaker transition ball. A game 2 or 3 ball of a medium house condition would be the ultimate condition for this. The hybrid in the coverstock gives better midlane roll than the previous hyped hybrid and more down lane motion as well. Unless your house pattern has really old lane surfaces or use low volume, the Ultimate Wrecker should not be the first ball out of the bag in most scenarios. I can see this ball being very useful in a longer format tournament that reaches 4-6 games. It will be a great step down from the Attention Star S2 or even the Rockstar if you still need a symmetrical option. For me, this ball will be brought where I need length and control. Longer patterns where the hook is closer to the head pin and medium to shorter oil conditions when I need a ball to get down the lane and control the backend will be the best options for me. A pin up drilling will give a stronger midlane read and faster response if you want more overall backend motion. Adam Chase Storm Staff

PAP 5” Over 1/2 up Rev Rate 300. Tilt 20. Rotation 50. Speed at release 17 Review: This is a ball I have been waiting for. The original Blue/White Wrecker was very good, and this one is probably better. I was not sure what to expect from this ball, so I rolled it on our typical house shot. I found the Ultimate Wrecker to be forgiving, strong enough for all but heavy oil and it created a nice shape on the lane. I was able to swing the ball to the dry for some nice pocket hits but surprisingly this ball played like a champ up the boards where the oil is thicker. When the Ultimate Wrecker got to the end of the oil pattern it had a nice back-end motion. The AI core seems to be helping the carry in this ball. This ball covers more boards than my Hustle M-M but not as much as my Equinox. I would have liked to see it in a color more like the original, but I have heard this color scheme helped in the target ball motion. I do not see a reason to change the surface on this ball unless you want to sand down for more teeth under a new polish. I would recommend this ball to anyone who wants a medium polished benchmark ball. This ball should work well for any bowler. Summary: The Ultimate Wrecker will be appreciated by those who had the original. The ball has just the right amount of motion for medium type conditions. This will be a versatile benchmark ball that shapes great and hits hard. Glenn Wendel Storm Pro Shop Staff gwendel@comcast.net www.stormbowling.com

Hybrid cover, AI core reboot, what more could you ask for! The signature of the Wrecker series was that it’s pretty clean and pretty slow downlane for a high RG ball. I loved that motion because the heads are choppy after some bowling and the backends get tight, and the Ultimate Wrecker solves that problem. I drilled a pin up and pin down version and they both took me back to that signature motion that I loved and struck so much with over the years! I will say you need some friction somewhere to throw these balls, either in the heads or on the backend, but if you have it you’ll be glad you have the Ultimate Wrecker!

Looking to wreck some havoc on the lanes when they are starting to get toasty? The Ultimate Wrecker is the ideal choice for you. With the return of the HP2 line, Roto Grip has re-designed the performance of the original Wrecker Core and enhanced its weight block shape with AI core technology. Its symmetrical PURE response hybrid reactive cover stock is perfectly designed for medium oil conditions. The Ultimate Wrecker gives results none other than pure reaction, predictability, response, and performance. Ball layout: 60 x 4 ¾ x 55. I decided to go with a pin down option to compare/contrast with the 900 Global Zen25 (same layout), for a smooth motion down lane. Testing it at my home center of Cortlandt Lanes in Cortlandt Manor, NY, on its 42ft league pattern, the Ultimate Wrecker gave me results I would find most suitable when it came to transition. Seeing it’s a hybrid and with its Power Edge finish, I didn’t see much ball motion until the friction started to open up. Once the ball was in play, the Ultimate Wrecker gave me the results I needed, a clean, smooth roll down the lane, with a pure finish. Comparing it to my Zen25 with the same layout, the Ultimate Wrecker tends to react a little cleaner, but with similar results to its ball motion through the pins. This would fit in my bag right above the Hustle line. If you were a fan favorite of the Original Wrecker, this would be the perfect upgrade. Be sure to stop by your local pro shop and drill up an Ultimate Wrecker today!! Thomas Coco (Storm Staffer)
