ROCKER™ + A.I. CORE TECHNOLOGY
Born to rock the pins, the Rocker weight block is taking center stage yet again in the strong symmetrical category. This marks the second time we've used this innovative shape energized by A.I. Core Technology to help disperse energy through the pins for better pin carry.
Whether your style is more vintage and you play up the boards, or you're more alternative and rip it from coast to coast, the symmetrical Rocker shape allows for a variety of drilling styles to create the perfect harmony of motion between your genre of play and the lane.
NANOSTAR™ PEARL COVERSTOCK
For years, our groundbreaking nano-particle cover technology has set the standard, continually refined by our expert chemists. While many innovations have come and gone, the resilience and performance of materials like MicroTrax have remained unmatched. To create something that not only complemented our proven technology but also offered enhanced versatility, our chemists went back to the lab.
It was during this intense process that a particular material combination emerged, standing out as truly revolutionary. This is how NanoStar Pearl was born. This material features nanoparticles throughout, but at a lower percentage than our MicroTrax material. This allows the NanoStar Pearl coverstock to be cleaner through the front of the lane while providing more reaction to friction down lane, delivering an amplified backend reaction that will leave your pins shaking. We've taken the best of our past and engineered the future of coverstock performance. Get ready for a game-changing experience!

RockStar Amped
The Rockstar took the place of the Optimum Idol as the strong solid symmetric in the HP3 lineup, the Amped takes the place of the Optimum Idol Pearl as the strong pearl symmetric. That said, they are distinctly different than the Idols. The Idols had the MicroTrax cover on them and the Rockstars use NanoStar - the MicroTrax cover is significantly stronger (reads the lane earlier) than then NanoStar cover on the Rockstars. The Amped is a straight cover swap of the original Rockstar - NanoStar pearl replaces NanoStar solid. As you would expect, the Amped goes down the lane further and has a stronger backend reaction than the original RockStar, making it an excellent complement to the RockStar as the lanes start to transition and you need to get the ball further down the lane. Roto Grip Rockstar
The Amped is the perfect step-down from the original Rockstar – it's cleaner, more responsive, but still is not sensitive to oil. Whereas the first Rockstar was perfect for medium-heavy lane conditions, the Amped rules on medium to medium-dry patterns. Comparing it to other recent releases, the Amped is about as clean as the 900 Global Ember, but it makes a more defined move down lane. The Amped has the stereotypical “Storm motion”, in the best way possible. With the box shiny finish, it is certainly too clean for fresh heavier conditions, but that is where the Rockstar is meant to be used instead, anyways.

Roto Grip Rock Star Amped Ball Review by PJ Haggerty
The Rock Star Amped is the newest addition to the HP3 line at Roto Grip. I felt like the original Rock Star was excellent. I don’t think it got the attention it deserved because it was really good on several different patterns and surfaces. It’s still available so if you haven’t drilled one, it could be worth drilling before they’re gone! Back to the Amped…so this is the same core as the original Rock Star (Rocker Core), but the coverstock is the new NanoStar Pearl. The goal for the Amped is to be cleaner and more responsive than the original Rock Star, and it does just that. After using it for the last couple of weeks, I’ve noticed that the Amped needs some volume on the lane. I’ve drilled one so far and really like it. It’s mapped out as 4.5 x 4 x 3. This puts the pin above my ring finger with a stacked CG. I’ve also left the surface alone (Power Edge Factory Finish), but I plan on scratching the surface with a 3000 pad to smooth it off just a bit. It’s the perfect compliment to the original Rock Star, which is a staple in my tournament bag. Also, I think it fits nicely between an Ion Pro Solid and an Equinox Solid. But, like I said before, I think the Amped needs some volume on the lane. It’s stronger and more responsive than you might think, but I think it’s really good! Go drill one!

Amped Up
Amped is an understatement when it compares to this Rockstar. I loved the original Rockstar because it was one of few symmetrical solids I was able to move left with and still get it to finish strong. The Amped reacts the complete opposite for me on the fresh, that I have better results when I move left. This so far is one ball that is a touch too strong when I play straighter from the start. Now once the lanes transition and there is some carry down this ball is truly amazing. I used this ball this week for game 3 in league when the RST Hyperdrive Pearl started pushing a little too much and it was my saving grace.

All AMPED up!
Roto Grip Rockstar AMPED Ball specs:ROCKER™ + A.I. CORE TECHNOLOGY with NANOSTAR™ PEARL COVERSTOCK. Coverstock finished with 2000ab with Power Edge. Layout: 3 ½ X 4 X 1 ½ My Specs: Rev rate 420’s, ball speed 15.3 to 15.8 mph off the hand, axis tilt of 16 degrees and axis rotation of 70 degrees, PAP is 3 15/16th up 3/16th. Tested on Pro-lane surface on a 43ft medium volume house pattern and 37ft sport pattern. The follow up to the very popular Roto Grip Rockstar, Roto Grip releases the AMPED - the pearl version of the OG Rockstar. The main difference between this coverstock from the Hyperdrive RST and Gremlin is that there is nano load in the AMPED coverstock and there is no nano load in the Hyperdrive RST and Gremlin. The nano load in the cover allows the ball to pick up sooner on the lane adding a different look down lane when it comes to pearl coverstock balls in the Roto Grip line. For me the AMPED is the 2nd ball out of the bag following the OG Rockstar when the pattern starts to breakdown or the carry down starts to build up in the track area on the house pattern and when bowling on the short to medium sport patterns, it's the first ball out of the bag, because it provides medium length and strong back end with out being like a boomerang or hockey stick reaction and not being over/under when trying to adjust speed or angles. I LOVE this ball almost as much as my 3 Rockstars I currently have in my bag rotation. The AMPED is taking the place of 2 balls for me in my 6 ball THS and sport pattern bag, by replacing the Storm ION Pro solid and Hyroad 40, which will free up a spot for the all new 900 Global Viking. My current 6 ball league and sport pattern leagues are: Rockstar, AMPED, Equinox solid, Gremlin with 2inch pin to pap for early and consistent roll and reaction, Hyperdrive RST pearl, and the Viking which I will be reviewing later this week. Thanks to Earl Burger at ABC North Lanes and Lounge, Bret and Damion at Bowlers’ Supply, Mike SInek, Roto_Schlem, Travis Celmer and the rest of the SPI team that supports my bowling life. Rockstar Amped
The new RotoGrip Rockstar Amped features the same Rocker AI core as the original Rockstar, but this time it is wrapped in the Nanostar Pearl reactive coverstock. At 15 pounds the RG is a low 2.48 with a differential of .050. I drilled the Amped the same as the original…5x5x2 which puts the pin above my bridge. The Amped is the perfect step down from the original Rockstar. When the original starts to lose its energy and keeps leaving those weak corner pins, that’s the time to pull out the Amped. The coverstock of the Amped provides easy length and a very controlled, smooth backend motion. This is not the quick response pearl reaction you see in many balls. The Amped provides the length you are looking for with the backend motion like that of a solid ball. This makes the Amped a great choice for when the lanes get tougher and the scoring pace is lower. The Amped helps control the pocket on the tougher conditions. This ball is a must have for tournament bowlers and anyone looking for a pearl ball that easy to control.

The uppercut the Rockstar needed. If you have a Rockstar and needed a ball with the same roll but more down lane. Look no further this is the ball for you.

Roto Grip Rockstar Amped Review by Lonnie Pemberton
LANE CONDITION Length:44 Volume: Med-High Type (THS, Sport Pattern etc):THS COMMENTS Core: Rocker + A.I. Core Technology (14-16#) Cover: NanoStar Pearl Reactive Finish: Power Edge RG: 2.48 Diff: 0.050 ME: Right-Handed Tweener Speed: 12-13 mph Rev Rate: 315 Axis Tilt: 14° Axis Rotation: 74° PAP: 5 1/8 R 7/8 Up Ball Layout: Pin Over Bridge 5 X 5 X 2 VLS With the success of the Roto Grip Rockstar a Pearl version was easy to forsee. What came to fruition was a pearl powerhouse loaded with Nano called the Rockstar Amped. Same great Rocker core with A.I. this time wrapped in a responsive Nano Star Pearl reactive cover. The Nano makes it a little diggy in the mid-lane for a pearl cover, but it doesn't look responsiveness. I tested the Amped on our house shot behind a session of the senior league. This usually equates to the second game of a normal house league in my experience. With plenty of oil still out on the lane I did see a little bit of over/under which makes me think I'd had some polyester balls go down the lane before I bowled. I found that a small hand position adjustment to get the ball started a touch earlier took care of it and I started striking consistently. This ball should be great in the transition and it's definitely strong and responsive enough to keep getting left with it. When I transition further left game 3 is usually when I have to ball change. Rather than hoping to be lucky and get the first two games in first, or as is usually the case having to switch balls after each game, the Amped is perfect for game 2 and just gets better in game 3 and beyond. I could see this ball being really good on tournament conditions and in longer blocks. Roto Grip Rockstar Amped
Cover: NanoStar Pearl Reactive Core: Rocker + A.I. RG: 2.48 RG. Diff.: 0.050 Finish: Power Edge The Rockstar Amped features the same Rocker AI core found in the OG but is now wrapped in Nanostar Pearl cover. It is the newest addition to the HP2 line, complementary to the success of the Rockstar Solid. Comparing this ball to the Optimum Idol Pearl, it clears the front very similar, slightly smoother in the midlane than the Opitmum Idol Pearl, but with more back end. This is great game 2 and 3 ball on THS. This was a great compliment to the Rockstar Solid and they make a great 1-2 punch.

AMPED Up!
The Roto Grip Rock Star Amped is here! The layout is 4 1/2 x 4 1/4 x 2 1/4 (50 x 4 1/2 x 35 using the Dual Angle Layout) 3 things to describe this ball… RELIABLE, CONSISTENT, and PREDICTABLE! Great length and consistent backend reaction. The Rockstar Amped is a really good compliment to the original Rock Star, especially if the Rock Star is hooking a little too early. This is a ball to take to your local leagues and tournaments! The Rockstar provides an equal amount of midlane motion with the equal amount of backend and continuation through the pins, which is something that I like to see from pearl coverstocks, and with the Rocker + A.I. core combo! This ball will be really good during transition. I added this ball to my arsenal and has been an immediate staple in my ball arsenal, especially for tournaments. You should as well!

wow amazing reaction
House shot or a sport shot, this ball works. I have the Rock Star and now the Rock Star Amped. You have a great ball in your bag, and you find its match maker now. It's a great ball to go to, or start with If you have to. For me, I like to start with the Rock Star, once the oil carries down and you lose some back end action, I switch to the Rock Star Amped, its such a smooth transaction, it picks up on the back end. Then you can hopefully carry that 10 pin like this right hander lol. I left it out of the box surface, keep it clean, and it looks so good rolling down the lanes!

Roto Grip Rockstar Amped Cover Stock: Nanostar Pearl Reactive Finish: Power Edge Core: Rocker + A.I. Essentially, this means to the bowler more length and more motion off the spot compared to previous releases in this category. You'll also keep hearing that A.I. technology provides up to five-percent more carry on off hits. Keep in mind the cover is Nanostar which is one of the more aggressive coverstocks RG offers. The Rockstar Amped is proving to be an excellent symmetric option for medium type lanes. For me, the Amped is in my wheelhouse for THS patterns. In addition, working several SPI MatchMaker events the Rockstar Amped is showing to be a great #1 option in the arsenal or a ball that fits a great range on an array of THS conditions. A good ball to compare the Rockstar Amped to is the Optimum Idol Pearl. For me the Optimum Idol Pearl was a tad earlier and smoother. Also, the Optimum Idol Pearl for me would tend to burn up early and to the eye not go through the pins the way I ideally wanted on transitioning patterns. However, the Rockstar Amped at the OOB finish is perfectly fine and I'm more pleased than I initially thought from reviewing the specs. To point out the Rockstar Amped minor adjustments compared to the Optimum Idol Pearl make this a must have ball. Also, as I'm 900 Global focused I prefer the Amped to the Zen 25. The Amped for me has that little extra range compared to the other balls I noted above. SPI definitely has been listening and made those slight tweaks to give the bowler a better experience. I prefer the the Rockstar Amped slightly more angular shape compared to other offerings. This is due to my personal preference for smoother arc type reactions for tournament play. However, I still like a touch of extra pop on THS conditions. Rockstar Amped
Ball Specs: Rockstar Amped Cover: Nano Star Pear Core: Rocker AI (Symmetric) Finish: Power Edge Review: The Roto Grip Rockstar Amped is designed to give bowlers a clean, effortless move through the front part of the lane while still creating a strong, fast response downlane. The pearl cover and updated Rocker core work together to store plenty of energy, so when it turns the corner you get a sharp, confident move that drives through the pins without feeling uncontrollable. It’s a great option for medium to medium-heavy house shots, especially when your stronger solids start reading too early or your weaker pearls don’t quite have enough pop. The Amped shines for bowlers who like to open up their angles or play a little deeper as lanes transition, but it’s still predictable enough to stay in play for a wide range of styles. It may be too quick off the spot on drier conditions, but on the right pattern it fills the “clean and punchy” slot in the bag extremely well. The Rockstar Amped - Rocks!

The Rock Star Amped is far more than a Rock Star with a Pearl cover; instead, the NanoStar Pearl reactive coverstock on the Rock Star Amped, combined with the Rocker + A.I. Core, delivers a smooth and predictable Pearl that straighter players like me crave to achieve striking results. So, let’s take a closer look at the success of the Rock Star Amped. The heart of the Rock Star Amped is the Rocker + A.I. Core. Similar to the original Rock Star, I found the Rocker Core to be smooth, stable, and predictable. Furthermore, as a straighter, low-rev player, I liked how the Rocker Core establishes a smooth rhythm in the mid-lane and maintains that sync, giving the Rockstar Amped a decisive look off the pattern you can count on. The addition of the flip-block on the bottom of the Rocker Core provides the Rockstar Amped with that crisp snap we straighter players love to see. Then, when you add the A.I. Technology around the Rocker Core, you get a symmetrical core that delivers powerful striking results to any straighter and low-rev players' game. The NanoStar Pearl Reactive Coverstock with the factory Power Edge Finish was a winning game-changer for me, and in my opinion, what makes the Rock Star Amped stand out among the competition. The NanoStar Pearl Reactive is silky smooth through the front part of the lane and has a soft-biting traction in the mid-lane, leaving the Rockstar Amped plenty of reaction time at the end of the pattern. As a low-rev player, I appreciated how the NanoStar Pearl provided me with the decisive gripping turn off the pattern I depend on, without the headaches of jumping or skidding that I tend to experience with Pearl coverstocks. Lastly, the NanoStar Pearl cover enables the Rockstar Amped to store a substantial amount of energy as it makes its way down the lane, and this stored energy is transferred to the Rocker + A.I. Core, which delivers plenty of power and punch as it goes through the pins. As I stated earlier, the NanoStar Pearl makes a great combination with the Rocker + A.I. core, making the Rockstar Amped a powerful choice for any straighter player like me. In closing, Roto Grip has created a striking success with the Rockstar Amped. For any straighter player like me, the Rockstar Amped is a smooth, predictable powerhouse that fits nicely between the Ultimate Wrecker and the RST Hyperdrive—the combination of the Rocker +A.I. The Core and NanoStar Pearl Reactive Coverstock make the Rockstar Amped a great go-to choice when you need a smooth, predictable motion that is powerful enough to deliver the results you can count on. Dual Angle: 55 x 4 1/2 x 25 Storm Vector: 4 1/2 x 4 1/2 x 1 3/4 I was super excited for the Rockstar Amped and it did not disappoint. I drilled this ball with my standard layout which the thought that it would be my step down pearl symmetrical ball. This ball is clean through the front with a nice predictable backend. I expected the ball to be really angular but was pleasantly surprised by how smooth it was on the backend. For me this ball is the Attention Star but a bit weaker. https://youtu.be/T3TSwapWzhA?si=FJSZgskM3bCYHAkY

Rockstar Amped Review by Kyle, Joel, & Dean Johnson
Ball Specs: Roto Grip Rockstar Amped Coverstock: NanoStar™ Pearl Reactive with Power Edge Core: Rocker™ A.I. Core (Symmetrical) Color: Chili/Maroon/Raspberry Review: This is a sleeper ball for sure. We have had a lot of people questioning the release of so many pearls from SPI lately but it is important to note that they all have characteristics that make them different. One is not better than the other and vice versa. This is a great and underrated transition ball from say an original rockstar or the original phase 2, just to name a couple. Our style: tweener, 350-375 revs, 16.5mph, layout of choice is 4x4x2 (pin is above bridge). The NanoStar cover really gets this ball to clear the front part of the lane really well. For this reason, this ball didn’t look great on the fresh. Once we broke it down with a stronger, heavier grit ball for a game and a half is when the Rockstar Amped really shined. We recently watched Anthony Simonsen throw this at the Championship Bowling tournament and he made this ball look incredibly good. If you are looking for that next transition ball or have found that some of the other recent pearl releases from SPI are not working for you, give this one a try. It really rocks! Rockstar Amped
The Roto Grip Rockstar Amped is the new high-performance pearl entry, utilizing the proven, high-revving Rocker + A.I. Core technology wrapped in the new NanoStar Pearl reactive coverstock, finished with Power Edge Polish. Designed to attack medium-to-medium/heavy oil conditions, the Amped provides easy length through the front of the lane and a sharp, explosive backend motion. Compared directly to the original Rockstar (Solid), the Amped is cleaner through the heads and far more responsive to friction, making it the ideal ball for transition, or when the solid-covered Rockstar begins to read the lane too early and lose its punch downlane; it is positioned in the lineup to be a powerful, angular follow-up to stronger solid balls, blending mid-lane control with fierce down-lane drive.

Rockstar Amped!
The Rockstar Amped features the same Rocker AI core found in the OG but is now wrapped in Nanostar Pearl cover. The Amped is clearly the Pearl version of the Rockstar. The Amped is the perfect ball for when you still need a large core to help blend the lane front to back but there is too much friction to use a slower response piece. The Amped is available for purchase from any Storm VIP Pro Shop today! Review Video: https://youtu.be/nbN6r8hVcmg?si=AM-Stf5THFaSl8Uo

Rockstar Amped Review
Layout: 5 x 4 x 4 1/2 Surface: Light 1000 abralon Rev Rate: 470 Tilt: 13* The Rockstar Amped is the newest Hp2 pearl symmetrical ball in the Roto Grip lineup. The Rocker AI core is brought back but this time paired with the new Nano Star Pearl Coverstock. This new coverstock has Nano Technology making it stronger than the current pearl balls in the current lineup. Compared to the Rockstar, the Amped gives similar midlane motion with a cleaner but still strong backend motion. It is certainly more forward off the pattern than other pearl balls such as the Gremlin or Ultimate Wrecker. I went with a pin down layout here to be able to keep my breakpoint closer to the friction without it trying to read too strongly. I got to try this on a 42ft typical house shot. On the fresh and at the Power Edge box surface, I found the Amped to be cleaner than expected with the layout I chose. It would give me too much length to see the pattern consistently enough and using a smooth layout, the ball would have trouble picking up in the right spot. I hit the surface lightly with a 1000 pad to remove most of the Power Edge polish so the ball would see the lane earlier overall. This definitely did the trick. The Amped was still clean enough to get through the front but read the midlane enough to shape the lane nicely and see continuation through the pins. Compared to the Rockstar, the Amped was cleaner and a little more off the spot, even with the layout. It gave me the exact look I was expecting on my house pattern. It controlled the friction and helped blend the lane really nicely. The down fall to this layout, is that it does not like too much left to right motion. The smoother layout does not allow it flare enough to open up my angles. A more traditional pin up layout would make the ball flare more and have the ability to open the lane up more. The Amped is definitely a good step down from the Rockstar solid. I would not expect the ball to have a ton of angle in the back part of the lane. Compared to the Gremlin, it is definitely smoother overall. The strength is similar but the two balls have a distinct difference in backend motion. The Amped will be better for more of the down and in bowler who needs more length and slightly more angle then a typical solid symmetrical ball.

Roto Grip Rockstar Amped
Roto Grip Rockstar Amped Ball Review .The Amped uses the Rocker Core with AI which was used in the orginal Rockstar wrapped with nanostar pearl cover stock The nanostar pearl coverstock has a medium load of nano particles allowing to clear the fronts with a stronger response to the friction The Amped is a symmetrical core with a RG 2.48 Differential.050 Polished with power edge I drilled my Amped 5.25x3x2.75 using the VLS LAYOUT system gives me a clean motion through the fronts with a quicker response to friction down lane. You can start with the orginal rockstar as your benchmark ball then transition right into the amped for more backend The Amped will be a great complement to the orginal Rockstar with a cleaner motion through the front part of the lane with a strong backend motion. I also compared the amped to the RST hyperdrive Pearl and hyperdrive Pearl was cleaner with a sharper backend motion but amped responded to the friction quicker. The Amped will be my strongest symmetrical pearl in my bag on medium lane conditions The amped is available October 24th

Rockstar Amped
I drilled the new Rockstar Amped with a 5x4x2 layout. This is the newest addition into the roto grip family and the third pearl addition in the last 4 months. All 3 roto pearl balls complement each other really well. This is the earliest and smoothest of the 3. If you have a gremlin and would like a ball to roll a bit earlier, then this is the ball for you. If you have a hyperdrive pearl and would like a ball to be smoother, then this is the ball for you. This pearl ball with a bit of nano in it complements the original rockstar, or even a phaze 2 really well as a step down. It will give you reliable and predicable motion every time you throw it. 10/10 from me!

Rockstar Amped Review
The Rockstar Amped is the newest addition to the HP2 line, complementary to the success of the Rockstar Solid. While the Rockstar Solid is one of my favorite symmetrical pieces to throw, it was time for an upgrade with a pearl version. The Rockstar Amped is featured with the returning Rocker core (found in the solid) and is featured with the new Nano Star Pearl Reactive cover stock finished with Power Edge technology. Ball layout: 50 x 5 x 35 (same layout as my Phaze AI). Tested at Nutmeg Bowl THS 42ft, I was mighty impressed with the ball motion the Amped can create. Very clean through the fronts, more smoothness, less angular in the friction. More length gave me the opportunity to throw the ball longer than expected before switching to something weaker like a Gremlin or Hustle X Ray once the lanes opened up. While the Amped and Phaze AI matchup almost similar to each other, the Amped is a touch more cleaner down the lane with striking results. However, I may not see the Rockstar Amped be a first ball out of the bag for fresh conditions (depending on how much volume there is wherever you bowl), I would consider it to be a great transitional ball once the friction is starting to show and you can move your feet and open up your angles. If you are looking for a new symmetrical pearl and a ball that gives you more length and control, the Rockstar Amped is the choice for you. Roto Grip RockStar Amped
The new Roto Grip RockStar Amp is a fantastic addition to the lineup, delivering a strong yet smooth motion that’s both reliable and versatile. With the NanoStar Pearl cover and Rocker AI core, this ball bridges the gap between angular pearl reactions and smoother, more controllable shapes. For me, the 4.5 x 4 x 4.25 layout produced a strong midlane read with a continuous and predictable backend motion — not overly jumpy, but still plenty of pop through the pins. The RockStar Amp gives me that “strong smooth continuation” reaction that blends wet/dry conditions extremely well. It really shines when I need something to pick up a touch earlier than a pure skid-flip pearl but still store enough energy to drive through the pocket. I’ve found it to be the perfect complement to the Roto Grip Gremlin. Where the Gremlin tends to be a bit more angular and sharper off the friction, the RockStar Amp offers a rounder, more stable shape that keeps me in control without losing hitting power. On medium to slightly heavier patterns, it allows me to stay in my comfort zone longer without worrying about overreaction downlane. Higher rev players will really enjoy the blend this ball provides — it’s responsive, but not uncontrollably quick off the spot. It’s the kind of motion that lets you stay confident when the lanes transition and you need something that reads consistently without burning up. Overall, the RockStar Amp is a dependable, smooth-rolling pearl that fills an important slot in the Roto Grip lineup. It’s a ball that rewards good shot-making and provides the continuation and control that competitive players look for when the lanes start to get tricky.
