The new Roto Grip Attention Star S2 takes the Momentous AV+ AI core and wraps it in the Etrax Plus Hybrid coverstock finished at 2000 grit abralon. At 15 pounds, the RG is a low 2.48 with a differential of .049 and an intermediate differential of .017. The original Attention Star is without a doubt, my favorite ball, so I could not wait to drill the S2. I drilled the S2 exactly the same as my original Attention Star with the pin above my ring finger and the mass bias kicked out to the right of my thumb. The original Attention Star was super clean but still would not miss the spot when it encountered the dry backend, and the motion was very continuous on the backend. The S2 when compared to the original, is much more aggressive and much sooner for me. The S2 reads about 3-5 feet sooner than the original and is much more continuous front to back. The first time I threw the S2 and I started going high pocket or through the face, I switched to the original standing in the same place and I left a light hit ten pin. So for me the overall hook of the S2 is about 3-4 boards more than the original. The two balls make a great one, two punch, but the S2 definitely needs oil in the front part of the lane to be usable for me. Luckily, the center I bowl leagues in, has enough oil to start out with the S2 but I usually need t switch to the original Attention Star by the third game if not sooner. These two balls will always be in my bag for league and tournaments.

The Attention Star S2 is simply a hybrid version of the original Attention Star ball. The S2 features the eTrax Plus cover in its hybrid form. As expected, the S2 is smoother than the original Attention Star. It starts reading the midline earlier and has a smoother reaction in the back end. The S2 will be a great ball to use to start the night to help control the back end, then move to the original Attention Star once the lanes start to transition. The original Attention Star has been a staple in my bag since it was released and I fully expect the S2 to be right there beside it. Layout: 4 1/2 x 4 x 2 My Specs - Speed - 16 mph, Rev Rate - 315. Physix Blackout https://www.youtube.com/shorts/n8NFbT7Nrj0 Attention Star S2 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s3G-wOwqjv0&t=1s... Road Warrior https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b8T_lgwG4BM&t=1s Origin https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VFs8AQas00g&t=1s Ball Reviews: Physix Blackout: The Physix Blackout has become one of my favorite balls. It is usable on a variety of conditions and has become the first out the bag on THS in different centers which play entirely different which shows some of the versatility of this ball. The pearl cover with the 2000 finish allows the ball to be clean through the front of the lane yet smooth off the breakpoint and allows plenty of continuation down lane when it is needed most. I have been able to play with my angles closed and opened as well as get a little deeper into game 2 than other asym options that would typically burn up by this point. This ball, also, was good on sport. Bowling on 45' where my angle was closed towards the pocket this ball provided plenty of motion through the pins given the longer distance and higher volume of what I was bowling on. This ball is a must have for the competitive bowler and is another great rendition in the Physix line. Attention Star S2: The hybrid version of the Attention line is out with a much more controllable smooth motion compared to its predecessor the Attention Star. The S2 is great for those medium to heavier oil conditions when control is needed. I found this very usable on sport conditions when my angles needed to be closed and I wanted to keep everything in front of me and control to the pocket. This ball is slower responding than the original which allows you to use this on the fresh. When the lanes begin to hook up front and a cleaner reaction is needed you can piggy back onto to the original to continue to allow your ball to angle down lane without sacrificing energy and hitting power at the pins. Road Warrior: A new iteration the the popular Road line is back with the Road Warrior. This version is a pearl with the R2S deep cover. It is much slower than the original HyRoad pearl, which makes it more controllable. When you need a cleaner reaction than the stronger asym or symmetrical's the Road Warrior will be a good option to go to. Origin: New core, new cover and tons of power. The Origin is great for those medium to heavier oil conditions. At first, I found the ball a little too clean so I adjusted the surface to 2000 to get it to pick up sooner. The surface adjustment made all the difference in seeing the ball motion I was looking for. I found success on THS when the lanes play tight and I want to play more up the track area. Origin reserved tons of energy as it exited the pattern and continued well through the pins. Also, saw success on sport when my angles needed to slowly open up this ball was strong enough to dig into the deeper part of the lane where oil was still present yet provided strong continuation down lane that didn't sacrifice carry. The Origin will be a good option on on fresh or transition.

Attention Star S2 features the same Momentous AV core with A.I. core technology, this ball has the etrax + hybrid coverstock. This ball picks up earlier than the original Attention Star making it more versatile on a wider range of oil patterns. This ball allows me to open up my angles when other sanded asymmetrical balls burn up and go to forward. Players who are looking for a cleaner sanded asymmetrical ball will love this ball, as well as players on house patterns where the Attention Star is a bit too clean on the fresh.

The new Roto Grip Attention Star S2 the latest addition to the SPI family. The S2 features the hybrid solid cover stock and uses the AI technology. My first impression of this ball after I drilled it was strong. Everything you love to see out of the original and more. I drilled mine 65x5x45 pretty clean for me as I lift the ball but with My higher rev rate I’m able to really get this ball through the pins. This is one of the first balls out of my bag. PAP 5” Over 1/2 up Rev Rate 300. Tilt 20. Rotation 50. Speed at release 17 Review: The Attention Star Pearl was a very good release for Roto Grip and the S2 (series 2) should be well received also. I drilled mine up and found the Attention Star S2 to be very strong. It read the lane very early at the box finish and was just too much surface for our house shot. I sanded the ball to 3000 then applied the new Power Edge Polish and the ball reacted much better. The polish even makes this good looking ball look even better. We did use the polished version for the video. I still feel this is a strong ball and I would put it under my Harsh Reality Solid and above my Ion Pro in total hook. The reaction for me is very smooth and strong. I feel the Attention Star S2 will be a good choice for heavy oil at the box finish and a strong versatile ball for medium heavy patterns with surface adjustments. If you need a predictable ball to help you cover boards on a medium to oily lane but not burn up too quick the Attention Star S2 may be a very good choice. Summary: The Attention Star S2 is a very strong ball. This ball hits hard and has very good pin carry. The Attention Star S2 will be a great choice for slicker lanes. The new hybrid Attention Star S2 from Roto Grip is going to be a huge hit. With eTrax Plus hybrid cover and coming out of the box at 2000 grit, this is the perfect complement to the Attention Star. I drilled mine 4 x 4.5 x 4 which has been my go to pin down asymmetrical layout and this ball really blends out the lane. Its a lot cleaner than the bigger asymmetrical solid balls but makes a similar controllable motion on the fresh. If you were in love with the Attention Star and just want something a little stronger, definitely purchase an S2.

Roto Grip Attention Star S2: Momentous™ AV + Energized by A.I. Core with eTrax+ Hybrid coverstock Box finish: 2000 grit Abarlon Here is why is new Attention Star is a rising to the TOP of my favorite balls: Seeing that the Master of Squad RG, Chris Schlemer a.k.a Roto Schlem, brought the eTrax+ Hybrid coverstock from the one of my favorite balls from the past year the TNT Infused, and added to the Momentous AV core from the prior Attention series from overseas and then wrapping it with A.I. core technology, brought the 2nd release in the Attention Star series to league and tournament bowlers a new way to attack the lanes. I cannot say how much I love and use the Attention Star since it was released and this S2 being added just added another tool to my toolbox. The way the OG Star rolled for me, it was clean, predictable, not an “over reactions” ball at any point during my ownership of it. The S2 adds a second layer to the predictability, with hitting the coverstock with 2000 grit evens out the pearl aspects of the coverstock and gives me another even and readable ball reaction. The taller core helps me get the ball further down lane then my other asymmetrical balls I currently have and still provides a BIG punch in the backend of the lane and does not lose energy when tracking through the pin deck. This will be #4 out of #6. The bags are now: Hustle X-Ray, Lighting Blackout, Sublime Focus, Attention Star S2, Attention Star, and Origin. Don’t sleep on the Attention Star S2. It will add some “Merry” and “Jolly” to your bowling game. Check with your local pro shop operators to see when their next Matchmaker Live event will be happening.

Just as good as the original Attention Star, but so much smoother. This ball has slowly fit into my bag for when the lanes transition. It lets me move back to where I was and gives me such a smoother roll to the pocket. The first night with the ball I tried to use it out of the gate but slowly found that the ball would probably work better for me when the lanes transitioned in game 2. The following week I did just that and was able to put up a 240 plus game. I have not had a chance to try this ball outside of my league house but it has kept a spot in my bag every week.

The OG Attention Star was clean and jerky and got a little forward. It confused me a lot. There were times I wanted it to be clean and it hooked and times I wanted it to hook and it didn’t. The S2 solves that problem. It definitely picks up a little earlier and doesn’t lose much backend. I find it much more consistent than the OG Attention Star. The S2 hooks every time I expect it to and still backends! To me this makes it better than the first Attention star!

Now that I have your attention, the original Attention Star was a star in the making around the world at every level when it was first released. It was only a matter of time until Roto Grip followed up with its successor, the Attention Star S2. With the eTrax Plus Hybrid Reactive coverstock, momentous AV + AI core from the original Attention Star, the S2 is Roto Grip's newest ball designed to be that all-purpose benchmark ball bowlers are looking for. I drilled mine at 50 x 4.5 x 35. I tested it on a 42ft league pattern at Fishkill bowl in Fishkill, NY, and was very impressed with the ball motion the S2 could create. I worked my angles playing the deep inside part of the lane, with the S2 having a solid 2000 grit finish for a hybrid, the ball read the fronts and midlane, checking up a little earlier than expected, but still finishes smoothly into the pocket for the down lane motion. The original attention star, in comparison, read the lane much later and didn't have that sharp backend as the S2 does, but still a smooth finish and went longer. This would be one of the best 1-2 punch you're looking for depending on what lane conditions you are bowling on. The S2 would also be considered as an alternative asymmetrical ball lined up below the X-Cell. I would highly recommend this ball for bowlers that had success with the original Attention Star, and for leagues/tournaments on medium/heavy conditions. Be sure to stop by your local pro shop and drill an S2 today! You won't be disappointed!! Thomas Coco (Storm staffer)

This ball improves upon a unique shape offered by the original Attention Star. For me, the Attention Star was earlier and rounder than the VEBO, but not as straight/slow as the Harsh Reality Pearl. This was a great little gap to fill because I have several shapes in my pearl asym progression, which is a pretty high-mileage area of my equipment. The S2 for me slots under the Ion Max for me. The Attention Star S2 maintains the smoother shape of the original but comes with a little more surface and stronger cover overall. As a result, the S2 lets me play the hold on the cliff, and if my Ion Max is too smooth, the S2 is typically my second look that stands up a little bit harder without overall being too far down the lane to use on fresh. Once the S2 starts to hit flat, I can then get into shinier/pearl balls like the VEBO, Harsh Reality Pearl or Origin. The S2 fills a great gap, and I've already bowled 300/780 off the press with it! You don't want to miss this one. -Chase Valenzuela

RG did a great thing here by making this a 2-part pearl, 1-part solid hybrid cover finished at 2000 that allows for this piece to be a bit cleaner while still digging into midlane oil and have enough on the backend to kick out the corners. I went with a pin up, mass bias in the thumb with a 5x4-3/4x2 buffer to get this piece to go longer but see the friction faster. It was a bit too soon for me, so I took it up to 3000 finish and shot 288 out the gate on a shorter pattern covering a LOT of boards! This piece is somewhat the same shape as the 900 Global Harsh Reality pearl except sooner and stronger so these two would be great compliments! Layout: 4 1/2 x 4 1/2 x 4 Surface: 2000 Abralon Rev rate: 470 Tilt:.13* The new Attention Star S2 is a release that has many bowlers excited for. The success of the original Attention Star pearl has a lot of anticipation for a stronger version. This S2 is just that. The Momentous EV AI core is brought back but is paired with the successful Etrax Plus Hybrid coverstock. This coverstock has more traction for heavier oil conditions while giving the same strong backend motion expected out of the Attention star line. On my 44ft typical house pattern, I saw a ball motion designed for the fresh and first transition. The strength of the core and coverstock combination gave me heavier mid lane read while reading the front part of the lane stronger than the attention star. The pin down drilling i have, gives this ball really good continuation and backend motion that I expected out of this ball. On the fresh, I was able to open up my angles more than a X-cell but gave me similar type of reaction. I was able to play the fresh around 15 at the arrows to around 7 at the break point. Missing right into the friction controlled the hook more than I expected but still had moments where it over read the pattern. Missing in the oil did what you probably would expect and read I'm the oil fairly well. It had no issues of under-reacting. As I moved into the middle part of the lane more during transition, I found the same strong overall reaction. The layout was slightly too smooth at time to continue through the pins for carry but I had no problem getting to the pocket from basically every where I tried to play. For me, this ball would be best playing semi straight angles while also being good in first transition on most environments. A pin up layout would give more flare and backend to move a lot deeper on the lane. I recommend this ball for those who have the attention star and want an earlier and more controllable version or those who want a ball for the fresh who have some difficulty with solid asymmetrical balls reading the lanes too early.

The new Attention Star S2 (Sequence 2) again features the powerful Momentous™ AV + core surrounded by Amplified Inertia technology. They wrapped it in a sanded Etrax Plus Hybrid cover. This cover creates greater footprint earlier than the original while still providing great down-lane movement. I tested the S2 the first time in league. Anticipating the need for more oil I wanted to give it the first try out when I was sure I'd have a fresh condition. It only took a couple balls to realize that this had a very unique motion from the Attention Star. The S2 has a very noticeable mid-lane read and great continuation. It reminded me a lot of the Eternity Pi in the midlane but with more motion in the back-end of the lane. This allowed me to stay in the ball longer. In terms of overall hook it is a small step down from the X-Cell but in my opinion it stays in play much longer. I did also bowl a practice session on a lane which had some open play and was pleasantly surprised to observe that the S2 had no problem finishing on a lane with more carry-down. The ability to trust this ball to start hooking in the middle of the lane takes a lot of the guesswork out of what it will do in the backend. This ball makes a great alternative to some of the more aggressive Assyms that want to get a bit forward as soon and the fronts start to hook. It's also better suited as a first ball out in oil for people who have slower ball speeds.
