Motiv Apex Jackal Bowling Ball

The Apex Jackal isn’t just an upgrade, it’s an entirely new predator.  And when a predator evolves, everything else becomes prey.  This beast stands alone from the pack based on what’s on the inside; the brand-new Apex Predator core. We don’t roll out new tech just to say we did.  We do it because it creates an advantage bowlers can witness.

Steve Wilbur from the Motiv R & D team said, “we’ve discussed adding a dual-density asymmetrical core to the line for years, but anytime we introduce new technology we want it to fit in the product line and offer something that wasn’t already available.  This core is nothing like what we had before; it’s dynamic, it’s unique, and powerful enough to carry the Jackal name.”

Featuring patent-pending POWER BAND™ Core Technology, the dual-density Apex Predator™ core is built for maximum angle and maximum dominance.  POWER BAND Core Technology introduces a new outer band wrapped around proven core designs.  That single change shifts everything. Density placement controls energy transfer.  By strategically reinforcing the core with this high-impact density band, we’re able to boost torque, increase stored energy, and unleash a more violent, explosive motion down-lane. The result is unmistakable.

With an RG of 2.52 — the highest of any Predator core to date — you get easier length through the front of the lane. And that means more stored energy for when it matters: down-lane.  A higher intermediate differential creates a sharper, more explosive skid-to-hook transition. Add the Predator core’s signature high differential flare, and you have a core engineered to create serious angle, even in heavier oil volumes. This isn’t variation, this is an expansion of the performance ceiling.

Following the success of the Evoke Hysteria in 2025, the Propulsion MXV Pearl being added to the Jackal line was an inevitability.  This cover offers angularity, can deal with high concentrations of oil, and is the most versatile pearl on the market.  Add a color formulation that was tuned specifically to amplify backend reaction, and the result is the most angular Jackal ever produced. Period.  This is what happens when precision engineering meets performance obsession.

When to Use

Speed Dominant - For speed dominant bowlers it is sometimes difficult to find a pearl that is reliable and strong enough to always catch down lane and provide the necessary angle.  The Apex Jackal will be an outstanding first pearl out of the bag for speed dominant bowlers.

Balanced - For balanced bowlers, the Apex Jackal will be a staple as a dynamic and angular asymmetrical ball that doesn’t need as much friction as other pearls in the line like the Nebula or even the Steel Forge.  The Apex Jackal will be the pearl that sees the lane before the very cleanest pearls are in play.

Rev Dominant - Some rev dominant players will want to use the Apex Jackal early and on fresher patterns where an angular ball is still an option.  Some rev dominant players may be able to even use some surface on an Apex Jackal to have a more controlled look from the Propulsion MXV coverstock rather than risking using earlier rolling and smoother covers that might not carry the corners as well.

The Apex Jackal has become a VERY useful bowling ball immediately since it’s released. The Predator core wrapped in the Propulsion Pearl cover stock has created a ball that I can create a rounder shape with and have it not over hook while covering boards or playing straighter. The triple P combination has been exactly what Motiv has been looking for in a pearl Jackal! Having thrown this ball on tougher patterns and a house shot, I can see how the control this ball provides would benefit pretty much any bowler no matter where they are bowling! Core: Apex Predator Type: Asymmetrical Coverstock: Propulsion MXV Pearl Reactive Box Finish: 5000 Grit Laser Scan Sanded Layout 45 x 4 ½ x 70 Strengths Apex Jackal's new dual-density weight block design brings a different motion to the Jackal line. Apex Jackal is an asymmetrical ball that doesn’t need as much friction as other pearls like the Nebula or Steel Forge. Power Band Core boost torque, increases drive, and provides a compelling ball motion down-lane. Weaknesses Apex Jackal can be heavily forward in the transition exiting the pattern, which can force you to move your feet or increase your ball speed. Overall Summary Using Apex Jackal on a house shot playing in the oil, I played straighter angles to the pocket. Apex picked up in the midlane and made a solid move at the breakpoint. As the fresh began to transition I still had the option to continue to play straighter, or to move a step left which allowed me to test the recovery of Apex Jackal in which I was not disappointed in. On a heavy sport pattern Propulsion MXV Pearl gave me a lot of length, for science purposes I used a green scotch brite pad to blend the ball motion at the breakpoint. Even with the green scotch brite adjustment the Propulsion MXV Pearl coverstock kept Apex Jackal from sitting up too early. Apex Jackal follows the success of Evoke Hysteria in terms of Propulsion MXV Pearl, making it the most angular Jackal ever created. Because Apex doesn’t require as much friction and Steel Forge or Nebula, it will see action on the lanes before the cleanest pearl in your arsenal. Should you be in the market for Apex weaponry I encourage you to look at Apex Jackal. Your game will thank you for it. . K.C. White II Motiv Staff Genesis Bowling Staff Royal Flush Apparel Staff

The Apex Jackal is here with a twist. A patent pending core design and modified cover. For those that like to play small angles and or speed dominant this ball is for you I really like a ball that i can keep in front of me with control This will be a USBC Nationals killer
