Visionary Charcoal Executioner Bowling Ball

(11 reviews) Write a Review
By encasing the highly successful Executioner core with this two-toned reactive shell, this ball will grab sooner and more in the oil than most standard reactives. This new cover/core combination creates a heavy arcing reaction, and will allow you to open up the lanes, even on heavy oil patterns. When the lanes have too much oil or carry down for the Crimson Pearl, pull this ball out of the bag, and score at will.

Picked this one up used, in excellent condition. Span was so close, didn't need any plugwork. Drilled pin next to ring, cg stacked below and to left, no weight hole. Kept the factory/box surface, around 1000 grit abralon, no polish. Ball worked well on a fresh, heavy house shot and never overreacted all night. Easy to keep in play and left only 2 ten pins all night. Moved total of 2 boards all night from game 1 to game 3. Hit and carry are typical Visionary! Highly recommended if you can find this gem. No wonder you never see them for sale used! Guess I just got lucky.

I wet sanded this ball to 1500 grit. The pin is above the bridge on the center line. the CG is 1/2" right of grip center. I have a high track, with decent hand. I am able to use this ball anywhere on the lane. The most impressive feature is the control this ball has. It rolls like a Pulse on steriods. No over/under. Just line up and let it work. The way I drilled it, gives good length and a strong arc to the pocket. The strike pocket is wide!! This ball is not what I call a "shock and awe " ball. It is a workhorse or benchmark ball. Many thanks to the Wonders!! As for me, from now on I will own Visionary.

Laid this thing out 4 x 3 I have never thrown a reactive ball that hooks like this thing. Honestly, it is probably more ball than I could ever need, but it just hits so hard I have trouble putting it down. The Charcoal can open up a shot with ease, the only catch is that you'd better be willing to play fourth arrow or even deeper. Unlike the Granite Gargoyle, this thing does not roll heavily and hook at the arrows. In fact, on a house shot I can play within a board or two of my Granite and strike a lot more. The Charcoal Executioner does not roll out if it catches dry too early or overeact when it gets to the breakpoint. Honestly, this is not my favorite ball from Visionary, but if you're looking for a heavy oil ball, this is it!

My Charcoal came to me with a 3-4" pin out distance and weighs in at 16lbs. It is drilled practically label with the MB close to strong position. This ball doesn't like oil or dry for me, it doesn't hit very well, but somehow manages to carry better than it should. My line of preferrence was slide foot on 30 throwing the ball out to 10 as a break but I couldn't do that with this ball. I tried this ball on a medium oiled crown pattern, wooden lanes not sure of the oil numbers though. The first shift was a slop fest and this ball went straighter than an arrow, but the second shift is when this ball did something a little decent. For the first shift it was 15 to 10 and the second shift it was 30 to 10, only after slowly moving out there. The reaction is very even, controlled, and not jumpy. The ball starts relatively early and arcs into the pocket. This could be a decent control type ball on medium lanes, but if there's oil in the backends toss this baby in the bag.

Ball had a 2-3" pin, drilled stacked leverage, polished surface. This ball gives good length [with polish] not skating in oil but slight skid, excellent mid-lane read with a strong finish. Even with polish, charcoal executioner is still stronger than crimson giving you an earlier roll and solid drive to the pocket. This ball transitions well from wet to dry without jumping too hard once it hits dry boards. I would say if you're on a fresh house shot this should be your first pick out of the bag. If you're looking for an excellent mid-priced alternative to more popular labels that will give you a strong reaction in medium to heavy oil, this should be your choice

Mine is drilled pin over the bridge, CG down the midline to gain length and store energy. Box(dull) was just too much for my hand so I polished it using Storm 1 and Storm Extra Shine. Ball reacted nicely in around 3rd arrow out to the 7-8 boards and came charging around the corner hard. I would compare it to a Storm Trauma perhaps or a slightly less aggressive Ebonite V2-Solid. All in all a very solid reactive....very controllable....very dependable. I really hate this 100 word minimum requirement. Sometimes you only need 30-50 words, if you know what I mean.

Just picked this ball up off of a guy here yesterday and what can I say. It was nicely polished out of the box so I didn't have to worry about it and had no obvious track on it. Wasn't drilled for my hand, but I went and used it anyway. First game = Bombed the first ten, then left a stone ten pin on the 11th and picked up the spare for a 289. Every ball in the first ten were complete bombs because I kept the speed constant. Next two games were ok, I kept changing my speed to see what it would do. When the speed is taken out of the ball it loses a lot of its hitting ability. But when thrown with some speed it just destroys the pocket, much like the Buzzsaw's I own. Only real negative is that it scuffs up really easily. I had to clean this puppy after only a game and a half! Of course, the house I bowl in is crap and all the balls scuff easily, but having to clean it after a game and a half is a pain in the butt. I'll write more after using it more later.

Really like Visionary products. Have joined the test staff. I have 5 of Visionary balls. Overall they are a good product for the money. The Charcoal Execusioner was a great investment for the other balls I have tested for Visionary. It also is really easy to drill. Very simple layout. This ball acts just like the Crimson Execusioner. I have to admit I enjoy the Crimson a little more than this ball. However when the lanes are oily and the other balls fail to react, this ball goes right to the target. Recommend trying out Visionary line of quality bowling balls.

First off, let me say that this ball is drilled with the pin above the ring finger, stacked over the cg with a placement of 3 1/2 inches out and a weighthole just above my pap. The lanes I bowl on are oiled heavy 8 to 8 for 35 feet and buffed to 45.Overall, this is a really good sleeper. I have thrown stuff from the big boys and they have nothing on this one. In factory dull finish, it really digs through the oil and will hook way early if you don't have a ton of oil in the heads. Once I took it up to 800 and put some black magic on it, it really came to life. Got through the heads really clean with a good midlane read. Revved up at about 45 feet and from there to the pocket, it was an awesome sight to see a ball hit this hard and still be this easy to control. Remember, this is an aggressive ball and when the heads started to leave, I had to put it away, but until then it will keep up with the best anyone has to offer!!!

i purchased this 15lb chr executioner 2 weeks ago and bowled with it 2 times in league. The ball hooks well in oil and hits with a lot of power. This is the first time i used visionary and i am very pleased. Carries good also strkes when light strkes when high. My very first time in league i shot a 679. the week after a 694 with ease. so the ball really worked magic for me. I raised my average 5 pins in two weeks. I would recomend this ball to anyone, especially the ones that think there ball isn't carrying enough

I was very suprised at the aggressive nature of this ball. In Box condition I could not throw it on our normal house shot. Ball hooks super-early and still has a hard arc reaction on the backend. Heavy oil is the only shot for this one when dull. Smoothed out ball from 600 to 1500 grit and ball polished itself. Could now throw it on a leaugue condition. More skid, super hard arc/flip roll and had great carry. 716 on a difficult shot with a big O.B. right. Ball is impressive! Doesn't work on fried heads. Great oil RESIN ball!!
