This is a ball I've always wanted, but have never seen in action or seen anyone that owned one. I liked the title the Mutant because it was something that stuck out and I wanted to have something that most people I know did not have. I finally came across one and got it drilled for me and I shot 719 first night with it. I instantly fell in love with this ball and I wish that there is a new one undrilled out there because I will pay the price to own such a wonderful ball considering it fits my style of throwing.

Im right habded have it drilled with the pin about an inch above my ring finger and cg out to the right, with balance hole. With this ball i can throw a deeper line and still get good carry. 1st time using ball in a different centre (not home cente) bowled 287,279, then lost it and got 176 for 742. While there is oil this ball is excellent but one it gets dry it should be put away. With this ball at the moment i have about 5 to 10 boards that i can put it over to hit the pocket, and it carries everytime if it is in the pocket, i have not left any corner pins with this one yet. I don't know why track ever stopped making this one.

The Track Mutant is one of my most favorite particle balls of all time. The movement of the ball is very predictable but at the same time it has a booming hit with carry to match. This is an excellent ball on heavy oil patterns. The Mutant gets through the front part of the lane with relative ease. It does not skid but rolls into the lane. This particle ball can recover at wider angles unlike most particle equipment. I would strongly recommend the Mutant for flooded lane conditions. If you can no longer find a Mutant than the most similar Track ball on the market would be the Arsenal Aggressive.

this ball is great for oily lanes it is VERY VERY strong. it revs up early and hooks a lot on the backs. I bought this ball used from a friend and it still hooks a ton. I carry a lot of single pins. my only dislikes are that the angle entry is like 90 degreese wich in term leaves a lot of ten pins. this ball is definatly made for oily lanes if the lanes start to dry up then consider putting this ball back in the bag. this ball is great for carry down. this ball soaks up oil slowwwwwwwww it has about 50 to 60 games on it and is still hooking like a monster or mutant.

overall the mutant is one heckuva ball. consistent, hits hard, and hooks well, as long as you use the ball on lanes that arent freshly oiled. i find myself going back to the trusty hammer high rev 3d on heavy oil when i cant get a consistent shot with my mutant on my thursday nite league. even so, i still love my mutant, its an awesome ball when used on appropriate lane conditions. this was my first new ball i've ever purchased, i paid 187 dollars for it at my local pro shop, including drilling. it seems a little high, but all in all this ball has paid off. several high games in the 250 range, still chasing that 300. before, i used an older ebonite ball and my high game was around 168. <sc

Same specs as last time. Ball is still amazing i used it on my league shot which is a nightmare for med-high revolution players who like to play the big hook. Now before i talk about the ball i need to explane the conditions i was bowling on. Ok heres the deal 36 foot long pattern with NO oil on the outside 7 boards thats right they see NO oil at all its like rubbing a rubber shoe sole on sand paper and praying that it wont grab, it just doesent happen. ok so i was standing on about board 30 throwing it out between the 3rd and 4th arrows. the ball would come screaming back and RIP the rack to shreds. the only problem i had was finding out where to play the lanes which can be seen in my 1st game. my average is 149 and im 13 years old and the games i shot were: 134 (way to many splits trying to play 2nd arrow), 178 (found pocket after 2 opens), and a 216 (never left the pocket a few 10's and a nine and something else that i cant remember mabie a 7) not bad games for me but i expect be

Ball specs: 13 lbs 6 ounces 3-4 in pin mass bias in arc position pin over ring finger This ball is like a dream, i never leave ten pins! This ball hooks a ton (track was telling the truth saying strong arc) i am forced to throw it from board 38 over the fourth arrow and it will come screeming back and put all ten in the pit. But the ball has a tendency to be speed sensitive... when i get into like the 3-4th game i start to throw it a little slower and i have to move at least 5 boards over with my feet and 2 with my target. But otherwise i would recomend this ball to anyone looking for a good strong arcing hook.

I got this ball basically new off a friend for 20 bucks so i really cant complain even if it was a bad ball. but the ball is well worth 5 times that amount. when the lanes have a lengthy pattern of oil down this thing keeps its target and destroys it. usually this thing hits like a truck, but once in a while i have to put it down because of unwanted 10 pins. i think the reason it doesnt hit that hard once in a while is because im forcing the ball down the lane. usually in league(dry conditions at my house) it wants to bite a little hard, therfore i force it down the lane causing a not-so-pleasing reaction. if i polished the ball it would pry work a lot better for the typical shot i bowl on. but i cant right now because i have to save it for this league in a month(League im gettin in is a pba shot league, gonna be hard!) im excited to see what it does sanded down. Thanks track, another good ball!

I'm not going to go into all the specs because I'll just tell you how it played for me. I got this ball a little over a month ago and I've bowled about 10 times with it maybe more. When I first threw the ball I seemed to have some sort of reverse spin on the ball cause it was going sideways and backwards at the same time. I am an average bowler who didn't get the fingertip type drill because I am a straight shooter. Anayways It was sticking to my thumb so I brought the ball back in and he cleaned a little of the hole out and it's fine now and I don't seem to have that spin anymore. This ball is very odd for me to say the least. I throw the ball fairly fast so when I hit the pocket the balls usually fly (at least with the house ball I always used) but with this ball about half my damn shots are complete dudds and the other half destroy the pocket. I've read the reviews on this ball and everyone says this ball will destroy the pocket but thats not the case for me at all, even when

Its not the ball that hooks the most in oil made by track but it works just fine. It hits just as hard as all of the other track equipment and it carries ten pins. You hardly ever leave splits until carry down or if you dont adjust. You have to know what your doing or you will get screwed over. This core is a great deseign and it seemed to work well for the freak and freak out so y wouldnt it work for the mutant. Give this ball a chance and i am sure you wont be sorry

the likes to hold its spot on the lane for a long time then onces it get to the brak point it flips and flips hard. do not think this ball is perfect it has it down falls. If you do not maintain your ball well enough then it will start to die. then anouther down fall to the ball is hooking to much. this ball need some oil or do not bring this ball out. but if you are a stroke like me then you could use this ball for lane were the oil is off of three arrowa and you would play 15 to 10 and you drill the pins

Ball is drilled with the pin next to the ring finger. It looks like the mass bias in the track. It had been plugged and redrilled. As I said before this is a found ball. I found it on the racks one day when I was practicing. The next day I went back and it was still there. I took it and left an Eraser Blaze in it's place. The ball was polished for some reason. I scuffed it with a burgandy scotch brite. This brought back the reaction. Now it's a good oil ball. I use it when my Xfactor encounters carrydown or the lanes are too oily. It's a very good complement to the Xfactor. Add my Tornado and I feel like I can cover any condition. Arsenal complete. Even though I also have a Duece. I'll review that after some more games with it.

drilled this one up 80 x 4½ x 60, reads the oil great everytime, very smooth on the backend. Never inconsistent. Works great on a variety of oil patterns. Checks up like you wouldnt believe. Awesome carry everytime thrown. Track really lived up to its name with this awesome ball. play inside the 4th, doesnt hesitate to come screaming back, play a straighter line, holds great and lets the pins have it. i would recommend this ball for anyone, it is a very great addition to anyones bowling arsenal. check out www.mccorveysproshop.com 2 members of the track amature staff work here

This ball is a good ball for me. I throw a down and in line to start, and move my feet to the left as the night goes on. Once I get to 20, and throwing to 5, I get a different ball, and start the process over again. This ball is the first one out of my bag and will last me most of the night. It does EXACTLY what it is supposed to do and what I bought it for. It is a suprisingly forgiving ball for me. It rolls true, breaks consistantly, and has plenty of drive to carry the rack most of the time. It will also let you know when it is time to put it up. It will drive, but the break will be sharper, sending it through the nose or worse. It will usually carry if you hit high, but that is its forgiveness letting you know that you should probably move. This is my first ball from Track, and probably will not be my last.

To this point the best ball I have ever thrown. Very consistant. It does what you have it do. The extra revs gets you more bite etc.. There is not ball I have thrown or seen thrown that hits like the Mutant. I have not had the pins fly the same way 2 times with this ball. It is awesome when you have 4-5 people behind you watching you bowl and ask what ball that is. I have tried to sand it down more, and I have tried polishing it up to 2000, it works great and hits great with every surface. This is a ball everyone should own. You would not think so by how the specs say this ball hooks, but this ball can fit into any bowler's game.<scrip

I was looking for a new all purpose ball. I had herd some good things about this ball so I gave it a try. I drilled it with the pin under ring finger with the MB right of thumb (about 1 inch) with a balance hole 1 inch below PAP. I felt this drill would give me a strong mid lane movement with a controlladle back end. With the box finsh it started to move to early. So I put 2000 polish on it and it did the trick. I have not found a shot that i can not play this ball on. If there is alot of oil i play down the boards with more forward roll. If there is lighter oil i move inside and play a deeper shot. You do have to go to something eles when the lans dry out. But over all this is a great ball well worth the money.

I just purchased this ball from a friend about 3 or 4 days ago. Since then, I've thrown it on both wood and synthetics, but not on any tournament or sport shots, just house shots so far. Normally with a heavy oil ball, you would expect the ball to roll early and hook early as opposed to getting further down the lane before hooking. This ball believe it or not gets down the lane quite well and has a strong backend reaction. I have this ball in more of a polished finish at the moment. I used a scotch brite pad and then followed that with applying 3 coats of Track's magic shine polish so the finish is tacky and there is a shine to it. I'd like to try this ball out on a sport shot and have it scotch brited and in a very dull finish to see how it would work, but I must say that so far it's worked great. If you're someone that doesn't have a lot of hand or revs and wants a lot of hook, this would be a good ball for you.

When I first got the mutant I did not know what to expect. First this is the first Track ball I have ever thrown. And second I bowl in two leagues that uses two different oil patterns. But after a week of throwing this ball. I realized you have to have proper release if you want to get the full potential out of this ball. When I was realeasing it correct the ball just snaps back to the pocket. However when the ball comes back it also loses energy on the way to the pocket. Resulting in a couple of 10 pins. Overall this is a great ball that cut through any lane condition while still carrying a lot of pins.

I bought this ball in late May and had it drilled on June 1. It came back with this setup: * Pin 1.25" right of ring finger * Mass Bias right under thumbhole (part of icon is drilled away) * Weight hole 4" right and 3/4" down from ring finger I needed something for a tournament and decided on a Mutant. It was the first time I bought a 15# ball and it took awhile for me to make the proper adjustments. I pulled it out for the tournament even though I was still learning how to throw it since I wanted to see how it would do on heavy-oil. I left a good number of 8 and 10 pins, but I still like the way it came back for me. I didn't get the results other people seem to be getting, but I'm still happy with the way it performed. I just wish I had more practice time with it before tournament day. It made its league debut about 2 weeks later and I shot 224, 189, and 238 for a 651, and that's WITH mechanics and timing problems. This ball amazed me and my dad because

I can not open up another review with how hard this ball hits or carries, all balls out right now, given the right night, the right condition, will hit hard and carry well. What I will say about the Mutant is when that night is there, this ball will move pins all over the deck and knock a lot down, no doubt about it. I took this ball and drilled, once again, my favorite stack leverage drilling in an attempt to get length and flip in the back end. I took it over the first night and left it as it was out of the box. If there is dry early, put this away. I could not get the thing past 30 feet before it turned and it's energy was gone. Went to another house I work in, still to much, although they at least had enough oil in the middle to get it down the lane some and achieve a nice even arc, just to much arc for me. Polished it to death and went back out, much improved. This ball, even polished, still needs good oil to get down the lane and react, but I love what it does when that

Almost any amount of oil is usuable. I have never had a ball that hit as hard from the inside angle and still had a readable breakpoint. I can swing the g, loft 6th arrow or anywhere in between and the ball doesn't stop striking. Having worked for Track for a year or so now, I have thrown all the previous Morpheous core balls, this one is the best by far. It combines the control of the midlane the Freak gives with the backend reaction of the Freak out. I can't put this ball down, I have to force myself to throw the other balls in the line.<scri

Just got my Mutant drilled up today and did some testing tonight. 15 LB. Mutant with out of the Box Finish. On a fresh medim oil shot with decent backend I started a little deeper than the Inferno, 12 at arrows out to about 5 or 6. Started game 1 in 220's and game two was 246, followed my a 244, with a high game 5 of 258 ! A low game of 199. Only 3 solid ten pins left in 8 games. Only made one move in 8 games, that was to play 3rd arrow out to about 5 or 6. The carry continued to be superb. So far on a League type shot, there was plenty of room with ole Mutant. I had a couple of boards to my left and right. Much better to send it than to tug it... I like the fact that it starts to hook earlier in the midlane and it just keeps on driving ! It will be a excellent complement to my Inferno wich just skids and snaps. Definatly a different angle hitting the pocket. On the same type condition that I tested the Inferno last week, I found less solid 9 pins with the Mut

this is one great ball for oil or medium oil. has real good lenght for a particale ball. it has the biggest snaping on the backend ive seen of a soild particale ball.when this ball reads any dry at all it jumps real hard. i can open up the lane real good with this ball.i even see a few messengers with this one.i got the vicious particale and this out hooks it by 10 boards for me anyway. the cover really soaks the oil. clean and dull works real well on this ball to clean it. way to go track . iam a track head again

this ball is awsome hits like a mack truck. doesnt leave many 10 pins but but it left the 7-10 split 1 time in 3 games this ball also hooks a ton but this is still an awsome ball. my first 3 games with it were 202 132 177 the second game i was foolin around and tryin new stuff so i had a 511 set. if this ball doesnt hook for you either your doing somthing wrong or theirs somthing wrong in you drilling. anyone thats looking for a ball that hooks and has masive hittin power this is the ball for you.

Smooth as silk in its transition. Played medium/heavy oil standing 28 throwing to 5 at 30'. Haven't thrown league yet, but it's amazingly consistent on oil. Had troubles at first carrying the 7, but a three board adjustment to the right (!) carried any/all pocket hits. I was concerned that the ball would start running too early and be uncontrollable but the 5x5 layout made it ignore the first 40'...then a smooth, hard hook. Tried this ball on lighter oil and just could not consistently get it lengthy enough down the lanes to be accurate. Even so, it broke down a lot splits I should've had. Just have to put this ball away when the oil has been saved for otehr things.
