Storm Trend 2 Bowling Ball

For a ball to be emblazoned with Jason Belmonte’s insignia, you know it must be special. After all, his 13 majors and multiple PBA Player of the Year accolades is no small feat. This man knows what he’s talking about, so we’ve enlisted his help in designing some of the highest performing balls on the market, balls which reflect his career. Now it’s time to set another TREND with the Trend 2. “Of all the Signature™ line balls Storm and I have created, Trend 2 has us the most excited. With a stronger cover and a redesign of the weight block, we have created an absolute monster for any style of player,” said Jason. “Trend 2 will give you the ability to move deeper on the lane without losing entry angle into the pocket. If you are in need of throwing that big couple games, Trend 2 is going to have your back.” Fragrance: Orange Meringue

Its got great shelf appeal with it's Indigo/Black/Rose color scheme. The modification they've made to the piston core for this version definitely sets it apart from the original Trend They wrapped this ball in NRG Hybrid which definitely causes the ball to read the lane sooner than the original Trend. I feel like this makes the Trend 2 useful much sooner as the original would usually look best once you had developed some friction to the outside of the lane. The Piston LD Core makes this ball smooth but still very continuous. I feel like the combination fits particularly well in houses with a more medium houseshot. This is definitely a ball you can stay in through the transition. The finish/cover combo gives you enough midlane motion to throw it on your average fresh house pattern but still gives you the continuation to throw it left to right as they break down.

Strom Trend 2 NRG Hybrid Coverstock Piston LD Core I drilled my Trend 2 4x55 and sanded to 3000. Just enough to get the polish off. I tend to do better with high grit sanded hybrids. Right out of the box I saw much more motion from the Trend 2 than I saw from the original Trend...earlier, stronger, smoother reaction. For me this one is a solid 1st ball out of the bag option on a typical house shot. Also can help smooth out the reaction when you see wet/dry conditions. I hope the Piston Core stays around for a long time!

Storm Trend 2 Review Rev Rate: 375 Ball Speed: 15-16 mph PAP: 5 inches over, 1/2 inch up Layout: 60x5x30 Part 2 of the Jason Belmonte Trend series, this ball is another out of the park success. The Trend 2 is a step up from its original counterpart. The original Trend had a smoother, less violent reaction downlane. The Trend 2...it HOOKS! The stronger cover and modified core gives it more versatility which allows you to have more options in your plan of attack. This ball has turned out to be my favorite in the bag right now. If you're not starting off with this ball, it will be a great step down to your higher end equipment or a definite step up from your lower end pieces. The Trend 2 is a wonderful addition to the Storm Family. ⭐️ 5 stars all around ⭐️

i just got a chance to drill up my Trend 2 and from wh9at i had been seeing i wasn't disappointed. This ball is very clean in the midlane and a nice smooth motion off the spot. I drilled my Trend 2 using 45 x 4x 70 and with my loft this really helps my game and a nice step up from my phaze 4.

After drilling and loving the trend I was excited to drill the Trend2 and it did not disappoint. The original was a pearl and was very clean down lane and smooth of the spot. The trend2 for me is a tad earlier and definitely stronger on the back but predictable and controllable. Loving this new piece I can be very versatile and would use on a house or tournament pattern

RG: 2.54 Diff: 0.041 Coverstock: NRG Hybrid Layout: 70 x 5 x 30 RPM: 360 (Left Handed) I was intrigued while watching the videos of fellow staff members throwing the Trend 2. I, at first, was hesitant to drill one up as I did not really match up with the original Trend. Let me say am I glad that I gave this one a chance. I laid the ball out the same as I had on my original Trend, as I am looking for a piece that will allow me to get in more than I usually comfortable and still be able to make the corner down lane with my relative moderate rev rate. This ball gives me exactly what I was looking for, it gets down the lane really easy and when it sees friction it makes a very strong move, coming in strong enough to slap out the 7 pin. Storm Trend 2 Layout: 45 x 4 ½ x 35 Where the original Trend had a smooth down lane motion for a pearl, the Trend 2 has a tremendous amount of downlane traction. I would not quite call the motion skid-flip, though – I would classify it as a strong, hard arc. It is great for moving left and opening the lane up after the big solids and asyms have opened the pattern up. I would place it as being at home on anything from medium-light to medium-heavy lanes; it has too much traction to use on true dry lanes. For me, the Trend 2 fits perfectly between the Idol Helios and the Electrify Solid.

Storm Trend2 Layout: 4.5 x 4 x 2.5 Storm Vector Layout Rev Rate: 325 rpm Testing information: 41 foot THS (medium to light volume) Bowling Center: Fulton Bowling Center Kegel Machine – Brunswick Anvilane The Storm Trend2 utilizes NRG Hybrid coverstock along with the Piston core. This Piston core has a lower differential than the one used in the Trend. The lower diff prevents the Trend2 from being too strong on the back end. The Trend2 already has some teeth on the front end due to the NRG coverstock. I have seen this ball used by various bowlers in tournaments and it has looked really good on most conditions. The Trend2 reminds me a lot of the Axiom Pearl. I don't think you need both in your tournament bag. #Stormnation

The Storm Trend 2 bowling ball is an intriguing one. Not only because it has Jason Belmonte's insignia on it, but also because of The Piston LD Core and NRG Hybrid Reactive coverstock. The higher RG of this core helps the ball to get down the lane easier while strong NRG coverstock has no problem fighting higher volumes of lane conditioner on the lanes. Many people can find this ball to be a very good benchmark ball. I drilled my Trend 2 quite strong: 65 x 4 ½ x 30. With this layout, it flares a little bit more than I expected. It seems like the strong coverstock and the amount of flare makes this ball "read" the mid-lane very strong, which results in a very smooth and "forward" motion down the lane. With the layout that I chose, the Trend 2 seems to be a little bit "in between" for me. I can see where this ball can be very useful, so I am looking forwards to drilling another Trend 2 with a pin-down layout. In my opinion, Trend 2 can be very good on longer patterns where you don't want to give up the "pocket" very much. It is also very useful on some medium patterns on slicker lane surfaces when straighter launch angles are required. Trend 2 works great for me on a "house" pattern because it blends the 'over/under' reaction very well. I can see higher rev-rate bowlers really liking this ball as well as bowlers that have a little more axis of rotation. Want to see me throwing the Trend 2? The latest and greatest Storm and Belmonte collaboration is the best one yet! Trend 2 features the Piston Core in which Storm lightened the density of the weight block to create a higher RG with a lower differential. This combination gives more continuation off the end of the pattern with the core dynamics concentrated in this range. This ball is an absolute beast, I have thrown this ball in every single tournament I have bowled in the past few months, I cannot seem to take it out of my hands. This ball will be great for bowlers of all styles and abilities, go out and get yours today!

Storm Trend 2 Cover: NRG Hybrid Core: Piston LD Layout: 5 x 3 x 2.5 I decided to compare the newest Belmo ball to the Zen because many reviews are talking about it in the same breath as the Zen. I get that. It's shiny, yet still a bit early, and it's pretty strong. I think it's pretty obvious in the video I get a bit more easy length and pop put of the Zen. The Trend 2 seems to want to dig a bit more even with the super shiny box finish on its NRG Hybrid cover (also on a favorite of mine - Physix). My Trend 2 really sees the back part of the lane and kind of locks up and rolls through the pins. This was alleviated mostly by really getting left and opening up the angles (maybe even more than normal which speaks to the overall strength of this ball). Although I like filming box surface first for these comparisons because 9/10 bowlers will probably leave it box, I now have the surface at about 2000. For me, the Trend 2 is more useful and more controllable with the surface. The surface also serves to provide more separation compared to other similar balls in our line. Storm Trend 2 Rev Rave 425 Pap 5 3/4 over ¼ up Axis Tilt >5 degrees Axis Rotation 45 degrees Storm Pro Shop Staff Before drilling the Trend 2 I drilled the original Trend, not for any reason I just wanted to see what a 4 ½ x 5 x 4 layout would roll like on a symmetrical ball. That layout is very situational for me and I can't use it as much as I thought. Now, drilling the Trend 2 I went (5 x 3 ½ x 2 ½) The ball is very clean and still responds down lane. I love the before drilling core numbers and the strong cover. This combination is perfect for bowlers who like shiny covered bowling balls that still slow down at the right spot. I will keep the surface OOB and use it when the lanes have early friction. I see myself using the Trend 2 more for tournaments due to its strong cover and semi strong core. Today's PBA tournament conditions use a lot more oil so the Trend 2 will be a ball I use later in the day when the lanes start developing the early hook. Looking at core numbers it is very similar to the Roto Grip Wrecker, so if that was something you liked in 2015 then you'll have a great time with this new ball.

The Trend 2 is the newest "Belmo Ball" in Storm Bowling's line up. There is always a handful of hype behind the Belmo balls and they always seem to create a ton of controversy in the bowling community as to whether or not they are actually good or just sell because of the name printed on them. I personally LOVED the ProMotion more than any of them and also really enjoy the OG Trend. The Trend 2 is proving to be a great compliment to its predecessor the OG Trend. It covers a surprising amount of boards for me which is exactly what I needed in my bag right now. When everyone is standing right and burning up the outside the Trend 2 allows me to move inside of them without losing any traction. As Luke Rosdahl mentions in his YouTube review "it isn't really a step down or up from the OG Trend, it is more of a step sideways" this is why they complement each other so well, especially on modified house shots or sport shots. The OG Trend has gotten quite a bit of play time on sport shots.

Storm Trend 2 Ball Review Hey everyone, I'm back with another ball review, and this time it's for the Storm Trend 2 and in 15 pounds this ball is wrapped in the NRG Hybrid Coverstock and comes 1500-grit polished with an RG of 2.54 and a Diff of .041. Layout for this ball is 4 X 4 X 2 This ball is everything I thought a ball with Jason Belmonte's name on it would do. Go down lane and turn left! For the players like me that are rev challenged this ball will not disappoint. When the OG Trend came out and I threw it I was shocked that I can cerate that much angle and this Trend 2 does the same. I found the Trend 2 to be a touch stronger and made me move left into a zone I done get to much on fresh. This ball checks off all the marks from performance to smell this ball will fit in your leage and tournament bags. The Trend has been a staple in my league bag since the release date. It has always been my go to ball when i need to play around second or third arrow. Once the lanes start to open up I usually have to change balls and move left. The Trend 2 gets to about the same breakpoint for me but is very very responsive off the spot. I am about 5/6 boards left with the Trend 2. This will allow me to move left and open up my angles without losing the back end. I feel like the Trend series is great for many different styles. With being a symmetric weight block it allows for great roll for many different speeds , rev rates and ages. This is going to be a must have for any bowler looking to improve there scores.

Storm Trend 2 Ball Review I have thrown the last three Belmo signature releases: the ProMotion, Trend, and latest the Trend 2. At first glance the piston core with a stronger cover was something I wanted to try since I like medium strength pieces. I just couldn't match up with how strong the Spec cover was with the lower volume house shots in the area. Next up into the arsenal was the Trend. I drilled it with a higher pin placement to help with the weaker pearl cover. This was very conditional for me. The cover was too weak for me on the area house shots and ended up not using it very much. After seeing the videos for the Trend 2 I was excited about the adjustment to the core but most of all about the NRG Hybrid cover. My favorite ball, the Physix, had the same cover. This ball does not disappoint. For me it rolls like a stronger version of the original HY-Road. When my Zen becomes too early and lazy down lane I can move right into the Trend 2 and play in the same area for a longer period of time. With the stronger cover and even with the polish I have not had to adjust the cover. Usually shiny pieces have a tendency to have some over/under characteristics on some house shots but not with this core/cover combination. I REAALLLYYY love this ball since I throw it. I use it with the hybrid OOB surface. On house or sport patterns this ball impress me so much because in all cases, this ball reacts so well off the end of the pattern even if is really agressive at the middle of the lane. It's one of the ball that I try on first to give me a good imprression of the lane pattern. I can use as much on all kind of pattern, just front of me when there are much oil or cross the lane when oil condition are more dry. The Trend 2 give me a lot of possibilities !!! In my bag for all tournament this next year for sure !! #stormnation

I've been throwing the Trend 2 for a few weeks now. House shot, Challenge Patterns and Sport Shots. The common thread in all cases is how well the ball reacts off the end of the pattern. I opted to go with a layout that ultimately ended with the pin drilled out. This gives me more of the "pin under" feel through the skid phase, but I get an extended hook phase without losing the powerful angle off the end of the pattern. Credit the hybrid NRG cover for a some of that too! The Piston LD Core gives me that same tight, medium flare I've seen on the original Trend, the Axiom (solid) and the ProMotion. All balls that have been, at one time or another, staples in the bag. Like those balls, the Trend 2 is proving to be dependable when I'm in trouble. When big asymms are slowing down too early and fast symmetrical cores are creating crazy over/under, this Trend 2 has managed some pretty tough patterns and allowed me to stay in contention and saved a few cuts for me already! Storm Trend 2 55 x 5 x 25 This is the best Belmo ball yet! It is super versatile and has great shelf appeal. In the Storm lineup I have it cleaner/longer than the Phaze 3 and much more back end continuation! This ball takes surface changes really well and will be best used on medium/heavy oil! If you were a fan of the Trend this ball is more more angular and usable on more conditions! She smells great too!

The Storm Bowling Trend 2 is truly just "different". I drilled mine 70x5x80 and the versatility of this ball is unbelievable. I can play from 2nd to 6th arrow comfortably. What catches my eye is how the ball acts at the pins...consistently going through the 8-9 or through the center of the 8 pin at least 85% of the time. Maybe it's just a great matchup, but I'm truly impressed. The hybrid cover seems to do all the right things and is an absolute house shot killer. There's not a single style I wouldn't recommend this ball for.

Storm Trend2 - Layout: 45 x 6 x 45 - 1500 grit polished Ball test conditions: Practiced on 44ft THS on SPL and 46ft THS on older HPL My findings: During warm-ups the Trend2 went into transition from skid to hook a tid bit sooner then the Global Zen and the OG Trend. After a few games on the lanes, I needed to move my feet and break point farther outside the normal track area, for the fact that once it caught the carry down lane conditioner, it ball started to respond later and later, less "hook" in the back end and once I moved out into the lighter oil on the pattern, the original reaction that my eyes liked was back. Felt and seen I need to play more close angles to allow the ball to read and roll correctly for myself. On the short time I bowled on HPL with the ball, the surface of the lane patterns made a HUGE difference, Was able to open up the lane a lot better and was able to keep a good look down lane even as the pattern changed, was able to migrate my normal way inside and away from the area everyone was using during our practice session. Ended up like the Storm Trend2 on the HPL then on SPL.

55 x 5 x 30 on the layout Axis point is 4 7/16 over and 3/8 up. Revrate in the upper 300s, ball speed between 15 and 16 mph. I typically like to start at 15 on a typical house shot and migrate in from there. Initial reaction...the colors on this ball are super bright and the scent is lovely. It will certainly freshen up the bag. On to the review: In the past, I haven't had too much success with the Belmo releases. After having the opportunity to throw this at our Matchmaker in Port Huron, MI, it really was eye opening! I could get seemingly unlimited to the left and it would recover from just about anywhere. After this, I made the decision to order and drill one up for myself. I put the same layout on the new one and hit the lanes. On the fresh, this ball was very strong off the spot, almost to a fault. Because of how my rev rate and speed match up, this ball just wanted to face up way too quick off the end of the pattern (a common problem with the piston core for me). This caused inconsistent ball reaction and not a enough forgiveness for my liking. After this, I hit the cover with a 3000 pad and then used it on the broken down pattern, moving into the 20 range at the arrows. This seemed to be more of the sweet spot for this ball for me....hitting the pocket almost at will! To me, this ball seems to be a much more responsive version of it's predecessor. This super-strong hybrid cover wrapped around the piston core seems to be a much better matchup for speed dominant players. If this accurately describes you, I think you will definitely like this as a benchmark piece.

Speed at release 17 Review: This is the best Belmo ball I have ever rolled! I never used the Timeless; the drive was a good control ball for me although not very popular. The Pro Motion is great on certain conditions, not so much on others and the Original Trend was close to being what I wanted. This Trend 2 though is a very, very good ball! The first thing I had to realize was how much stronger the ball was than I expected. I had to keep moving deeper but once I did the ball was impressive. It corners a lot better that the Original Trend and seems to carry better also. This ball gives me more messenger strikes than I am used to. We had a recent ball demo and this was by far the best seller of the group of very good balls being tested. For people skeptical of the Belmo series don't miss out on this ball. It is more versatile than previous balls in the series. I have rolled this ball a bunch since it came out and it rolls well on multiple conditions. The Trend 2 is a ball I know I can trust on various lines and conditions. I like the box surface very much but for the sake of science I hit it with a 2000 pad and let it lane shine a bit and saw a stronger overall but similar shape. It is nice to know you can rough the ball up a bit for heavier oil and maintain back end motion. I am a big fan of this ball and it is a hit at the shop. This ball should be a great option on medium to heavy conditions and work for many styles of play. I would put this ball under my Zen Master but above my Hypes in total hook. Summary: The Trend 2 is the best in the Belmo series in my opinion. The motion and hit are very strong. The Trend 2 is a strong versatile ball.
