The Storm Bolt doesn’t just identify a Storm bowling ball. It represents over three decades of tradition, a commitment to quality, and a promise to always roll better than ever before. The covers are robust. The cores are exact. Because when the scores add up, the thrill of sending all ten back tells you that it’s worth it. SMARTLY DESIGNED INVERTED FE² TECHNOLOGY Every Hy-Road™ is the result of master engineering and precise workmanship, all hand-built from start to finish. They are the foundation of the entire Storm bowling experience. This jewel of an engine generates more torque down lane than any ball in production. A technical tour de force, the Inverted Fe2 weight block has historically had a higher RG orientation. The higher the RG, the more resistant the ball will be to changing direction as it travels down the lane. This promotes a cleaner shape through the front part of the lane with a later transition down lane. This compact powerplant of a weight block utilizes more coverstock material. The result? More efficient power transfer to the pins at the point of impact.

Newest addition in the Hy-Road line is the brand new Night-Road! This ball features the ReX Pearl Reactive Coverstock that was seen on the Dark Code and Infinite Physix wrapped around the famous Inverted Fe2 Technology core that was seen in the Hy-Roads! My Night-Road is drilled pin over my bridge with the Cg kicked and for me this ball is a shiny shape that's smooth on the backend! The Night-Road clears the front part of the lane but smooths out the downlane motion for the transition! Head over to your Local Pro Shop and get yours today!

Storm Night Road Coverstock: ReX Pearl Reactive Core: Inverted Fe2 Layout: 5 x 3 x 1 I have had many Hy-Roads over my bowling career. Different layouts and surfaces, they all have been good. I even liked the Hy-Road Max from a bit ago. This new Night Road is a clean ball that really reads off the spot. Wouldn't call it angular by any means but it does hit hard. I did not like what I saw out of box so I almost immediately hit it with 500, 1000, and Step 2. This seems to be the surface most liked on this ball. Due to a grip change, I don't have comparison Dark Code and Infinite Physix balls which share the ReX Pearl cover, but from my experience with them, the Night Road is more responsive. Compared to my shiny control piece, the Zen, it's quite evident the Zen picks up a bit quicker and is less violent off the spot. I see the Zen as more of an all around ball where the Night Road feels like a house shot killer to me. The 3 latest Storm releases will create instant versatility in your bag and cover a variety of bases for any lane condition. The Super Nova is the strongest of the 3 designed for heavy oil conditions. The Night Road and Phaze 5 are designed for those medium conditions. For those that enjoyed the Proton Physix the shape seen from the Super Nova will be comparable. When battling heavy oil and/or tight conditions the Super Nova will be an excellent selection to manage that environment. The Super Nova has one of the strongest covers Storm manufacturers and compliments this core very well. There is plenty of control with this high end asym and would be a cleaner option against the Gem which is earlier with more arc. The Night Road which boasts a higher RG will be good for those early hooking surfaces early on or as a step down off the bigger balls like the Super Nova. I see this ball fitting in my bag on the early hooking surfaces so I can keep everything in front of me early on without giving away the pocket. I have found the sanded finish provides plenty of blend off the backend as opposed to the stronger angular shapes we seen from the Hy-Road Pearl. Also, do not be afraid to polish this ball to create a longer more angular shape. The Phaze 5 like the other Phaze balls does not disappoint. a direct replacement for the 4 the 5 provides plenty of continuation down lane when making its move off the spot. This ball will go with me everywhere I bowl and be that step down ball off the bigger asym or solid sym's. When you are looking to start creeping in and opening those angles up this ball will be one of your best assets.

The Night Road is built with Storms proven Inverted Fe2 Technology Core and wrapped with their brilliant mixture - the NeX Pearl Coverstock! And the NeX Pearl coverstock is brilliant because it takes the meaning of "Pearl" to a whole different level! And that elevated level gives the Night Road a place of its own in the Storm Thunder Series. So, let's take a closer look. The Inverted Fe2 Technology Core is one of Storm's most trusted and proven cores. And if you own or watch the original Hy-Road in action, you can understand why. The Inverted Fe2 technology Core provides a smooth rolling ball with a predictable motion in the mid-lane and a crisp, clean turn-off the pattern. And being a straighter player, I became most fond of the Inverted Fe2 Technology Core's ability to retain its energy as it steamrolls through the pins. And with its strong continuation, I can count on the Inverted Fe2 Technology Core to deliver a strong pin reaction that keeps me striking. Rather than deflecting and leaving a ten-pin to shoot at in the tenth frame! The NeX Pearl Coverstock is what gives the Night Road a place of its own in the Thunder Series! This brilliant mixture is not another "Pearl" like the Hy-Road Pearl or a Hybrid like the original Hy-Road. Instead, the ReX Pearl Reactive is what I would label a "Pearl-brid." Because the Night Road reads earlier than your standard Pearl Coverstock and retains that smooth, clean look we like to see in the back end. And when I took the NeX Pearl's factory 4k-fast finish to 2000-grit Abralon followed by Reacta-Shine polish. I found the NeX Pearl provided a softer and more methodical transition through the hook and roll phases than a Hybrid. And I especially liked how the NeX Pearl blends the wet/dry conditions and has a smooth response when it finds friction. So, needless to say, I am a fan of the ReX Pearl coverstock. In conclusion, the Night Road brings a new dimension to Storm's Thunder Line. And standing on its own, the Night Road makes an excellent fit for many league bowlers. And for those who love the Hy-Road, you will find that when combined with the Night Road, you will have a strong combination to tackle any type of conditions you encounter on your way down the lane! So, talk to your local pro shop operator today and see where the Night Road fits into your arsenal. The Night Road is worth the trip! The Storm Night Road is the latest addition to the Thunder line and it's been a great piece to drill. As bowlers, most of us are familiar with the great history the HyRoad has provided, and the Night Road is continuing that tradition. With an RG of 2.57 and differential of .046, the Night Road is a ball that all types of players can use. It's wrapped with the ReX pearl coverstock along with the Inverted Fe core under the hood. I've drilled one so far and think it rolls great. I drilled it with the pin above my bridge with a slight kick of the CG. This comes out to 5 x 4. I also put the ball on the spinner and hit it with 4000 and water just to give it a bit more shine and create a faster response time. After some of the bigger-cored balls go through their transition (Gem, Reality, Infinite Physix), the Night Road is the perfect ball to transition to. I haven't used the Night Road on shorter patterns yet, but on house shots or patterns with a decent amount of volume, this piece is definitely in my bag. Also, I think it's close to a Wolverine Dark Moss, but I have the Night Road cleaner and more responsive down lane. If you need a ball that creates angle, is clean through the front part of the lane, and compliments the high performance balls, the Night Road should be the next ball you drill. #StormNation

The Storm Night Road features the ReX cover, the Inverted Fe2 core, and comes with the 4-k fast surface. The ReX cover on the Night Road was recently on the Infinite Physix and I was hoping this ball would be a step down when the Infinite is hooking too much. The NR, for me, was a smooth shape and reminded me of the Infinite. I needed some friction for the NR to shine and still give a smooth controlled shape. This ball will be used later in a tournament block or when there is a lot of friction on the lanes and you need something to get down the lane. It is a ball or two down from the Infinite with a similar shape and will be a go to when I am looking for that kind of shape when the lanes break down. Another home run in the Road series! #StormNation Tobias Myers

The Night Road is here! Featuring REX pearl, which is on the Dark Code and Infinite Physix, the Night Road is the strongest Hy-Road-family ball to date. It midlanes more than the Hy-Road Pearl but still has that signature Hy-Road backend motion. With a surprising amount of traction in oil, the Night Road is a great compliment to cleaner strong balls like the Reality Check or Infinite Physix. The Night Road cover is strong enough to make it a great 3 ball when your big stuff starts to be too much but they aren't quite dry enough for your weak stuff. Layout - 4.5 x 70 Surface - 4k Fast The new Night Road brings back the Inverted Fe2 core found in the previous Hyroads but with the REX coverstock. What I like about this night road comparative to the hyroad pearl is how much stronger it reads in the midlane due to the stronger REX cover. With my higher ball speed, I was not able to use the hyroad pearl as much as I wanted to due to the ball not slowing down enough for higher volumes of oil. The night road allows me to have a larger footprint on the lane while still giving me that traditional angular motion that the hyroad pearl is known for. My pin down layout at the 4k fast finish for me still gives me a pretty angular backend while allowing the ball to be more continuous overall. For me personally, this is the type of reaction I really love to see. For some of my customers in the pro shop, I brought the surface back to 1500 polished to keep that consistent from previous balls. Bringing the surface back to the old finishing process gives that polished and more angular look for drier lanes and a late game tournament ball. A pin up layout will give that long and angular motion that is accustom to the hyroad line throughout the years. Adam Chase Storm Staff

So excited for the release of the Storm Night Road! Not only does the black and purple color combination look amazing, the fruit trifle scent is pleasant as well! The Storm Road series has been a really solid line of bowling balls and the Night Road will fit right in. With the release of the Storm Infinite PhySix and the Storm Super Nova the Storm Night Road is a great compliment to either one or both of those balls. Like most in the Road line, the Night Road is very smooth heading down the lane. It is very responsive off the friction, but not snappy, it maintains that typical smooth symmetrical weight block motion. Handles wet/dry conditions very well, good for when the lanes start to break down and open up, good on fresh patterns with lower volume and/or high friction surfaces. For me I see the Night Road having very similar motion and overall reaction as the Storm Phaze III. On the same patterns I am 1-2 boards right with my feet with the Night Road compared to the Phaze III. If you have that stronger 1st ball out of the bag already, but don't have the next step down this is the ball you should buy! I used the dual angle layout on the Night Road, 35 x 4 x 40. I am a tweener who tends to spin it some.

The legendary Hy Road line continues with the Night Road. It has the iconic Inverted Fe2 which has an RG of 2.57 and Diff of 0.046 and is wrapped about the REX pearl cover that was also found on the Dark Code and finished with Fast 4K. I drilled mine 5.5 x 5 x 3 and my first impressing of this ball was that it was super clean down lane but didn't overreact off the spot. I actually fooled around with the surface of this ball and finally settled on 3000 which gave me a little bit more reaction of the pattern and more of a stronger Hy Road reaction than a Hy Road Pearl reaction that I was expecting. I can see this ball being great later in the day on medium/longer patterns or someone who wants to really have a strong backend reaction in league.

Night Road – WWRD 9/23/2022 Storm's new Night Road is a Symmetrical Pearl piece that is good for Medium lane conditions. PAP is 5 5/16 R 1 3/16 Up. Fragrance is Fruit Trifle. Drilled one with the Pin above the Bridge and the CG kicked out 2". Out of Box motion has good length with strong backend motion through the pins. Drilled another one with the pin in the Ring Finger and CG under the Ring Finger. This layout was about 2-3 right with a smoother backend compared to the one I drilled above the Ring. Pin Up Night Road was overall 3-5 stronger than the Original Hy-Road and 5-7 more than the Hy-Road Pearl.

The Storm Night Road is the newest installment of the Thunder Line. This ball provides that big shape that I've seen out of HyRoad series in the past. The Night Road (4.25x4x4 2ls) is super clean throughout fronts and starts to pick up when it sees friction. I did a reset on the overstock before this review and it is a 3000 grit, and saw the shape I was hoping to see. Compared to the 900 Global Dark Moss (4.5x4x4), I see a little bit more of a rounder shape from the Night Road and the DM picks up about 1-2 feet sooner. The Night Road has a higher RG which explains this. I also compared it to the IQ Tour Ruby (5.25x4x3) as well because pearl IQs have been a staple in many peoples bags for the past few years. The Ruby is much cleaner compared to the Night Road and is a solid 5-6 boards weaker overall. I also compared it to the 900 Global Zen. The Zen (4.5x4x4) is a solid zone sooner on the lane and is more forward off the bag. Once the Zen starts to hook too early or starts rolling out, the Night Road could be a good step down depending on the amount of volume you are bowling on. The Night Road is going to be a great bag in the arsenal when the fronts start to get burnt up and Lower RG symmetric pearls start to hook too early. Bowl up a Storm!

Night Road - Thunder Line Coverstock: Rex Pearl - 4K Fast Core: Inverted Fe² RG: 2.57 Differential: .046 (15 lbs) Layout: 80 x 5 x 45 PAP: 6" Right, 1 3/8" Up Axis Tilt: 16° Rev Rate: 450-500 Speed: 17-18 mph Location: AMF Pin-O-Rama, Utica, NY Pattern: Kegel Main Street V2 The Night Road is the newest addition to the Thunder Line. It's wrapped in ReX pearl, which is the same cover as the Dark Code and Infinite Physix and uses the proven Inverted Fe² core. The original Hy-Road is one of my all time favorites, so I was extremely excited to drill the Night Road. The Night Road reads earlier and hooks 3-4 boards more than the Hy-Road while having a smoother reaction off the end of the pattern. The Night Road looked better as the lanes transitioned, so it won't be the first ball out of my bag, but will have a spot for later in league or tournament play. For bowlers looking for a stronger and more controlled reaction compared to the Hy-Road or Hy-Road Pearl, the Night Road will be a great fit. If you want it to go a little longer with more backend, shine is your solution. Stop by your local Storm VIP pro shop to check it out! Dave Jecko Storm Amateur Staff Member

The all new night road is the newest addition to the storm thunder line. If you're looking for an updated hyroad pearl with more punch on the back then this is the ball for you. I drilled mine 55x4 3/4x35 and i can't get this monster to stop hooking down lane. This ball is a no brainer if you're a fan of the road series this is a must have for your bag. The Storm Night Road is the newest ball in the thunder line. This ball has the same coverstock as the Dark Code and Infinite Physix. The Night Road is earlier and smoother than the Hyroad and Hyroad Pearl. This is going to be a ball that you can go to if you are looking to control a pattern and the other Hyroad's are too quick off friction. I've thrown the ball on a couple of different conditions and have found that depending on how much friction there is the ball can sometimes burn up too quickly and puke. This ball is going to be good on more medium volume patterns along with a fresher condition. This ball fits into the Hyroad line well and gives a new shape to it. This is the ball that I have been waiting for since the announcement came. I LOVE the Dark Code. So naturally I was excited with any ball that came out with this cover (Infinite Physix, too). I immediately was thinking about the different tournaments I would throw this at and where it slotted into the arsenal. I drilled this one pin down, same as my byroad pearl. Im getting older and the slow hook or more options on the burn are what Im constantly looking at. With this cover being a bit stronger it also makes it a bit earlier, especially right out of the box. I expect to add some shine to this ball at some point. Over all, for me, its the best byroad since the pearl. I'm a fan already! My pin down layout is: 50x4.5x65 or 4.5x4.5x3.75 Other balls getting a lot of play: Dark Code-4x6x2 UFO Alert-4.5x5x3.75. RST-X3-4x5x2 Wolverine Dark Moss-4.25x5.25x2

If you want a HyRoad that hooks much earlier than the OG HyRoad or the HyRoad Pearl, this is the ball for that. The Night Road catches so much more midlane than the OG Hyroad I actually have to play it more right than the HyRoad because it doesn't jerk off the friction. IT IS SMOOOOTHH. It also gives me All Road vibes so if you liked that ball, this is a no brainer.
