The Shape Lock HD core is a very rolly core. The SPEC cover is a very aggressive cover. This combo creates a ball that reads the mids really well but has a lot of continuation downlane. This ball has more backend than the Crux Prime. i drilled mine with a 2 1/2 inch pin to PAP layout. i use this layout when i want the ball to stay smooth and not bounce off the dry. if you have a house shot that the first couple boards are like bumpers and the middle is flooded, this works awesome! You can move right and not have to fight the over-under. The cover is versatile enough to fine tune to your ball speed and rev rate. Because this ball doesn't create super steep entry angles, it carries really well. And because it's very chuggy and heavy rolling it mixes up the pins and carries the light hits. A great first game ball. On challenge patterns this is one of the first balls i try. It tells me whether i need to ball up or down.

The Gravity Evolve is the second asymmetric ball released by Storm featuring the Spec coverstock. As you may have guessed, the Evolve uses the same core from the ever popular Gravity Shift series from a few years back. The Virtual Gravity was one of the most successful balls in Storm's history so it makes sense to see a new version with such a unique cover like Spec coming to market. Using the tried and true Shape-Lock HD core combined with the hook and control of the Spec cover, gives bowlers a unique combination of board coverage with controlled shape. I drilled two Evolves. The first Evolve has a layout of 3 X 5 X 1.5 which is mainly intended for use on flatter, tougher patterns. The second Evolve is drilled 4 X 3 X 2, and more intended to be used on medium to high scoring conditions early on while the pattern is still fresh. Using both balls with the box 2000 grit abralon finish, the second Evolve only covers a couple more boards than the 3" pin Evolve, but isn't dramatically different, especially once both balls lane shine. Getting into 1000 or even as low as 500 Abralon, the 4" pin Evolve creates a much more defined move at the breakpoint, as well as about an arrow more worth of board coverage. It is very interesting how close in board coverage the two balls are with less surface, and how much different they are with a lot of surface. It goes to show how important it is to get both the layout and surface correct for a bowling ball. Even at lower grits, the 3 X 5 X 1.5 Evolve has a controlled hard arch to the pocket. This is great for challenging conditions that I want a readable reaction throughout the lane. The 4 X 3 X 2 Evolve does as expected and opens up patterns that are easier and allows me to be less than perfect and still score. The biggest take away I have with the Evolve as well as the Crux Prime, both balls using Spec cover, is that they aren't going to be big backend hockey stick shapes. The Spec cover creates traction with controlled shape for heavier volumes of oil. The Evolve isn't the typical strong response to friction at the end of the pattern like many of Storm's covers but is a reaction shape needed for hook with control. Thank you for taking the time to read my review of the Storm Gravity Evolve. As always reme

My Name is Doug Cutler and I am Storm Staffer. I am left handed and throw between 15-16 mph. All I can say about the Gravity Evolve is WOW. Storm did great research on this ball. For this ball with this Spec Cover Stock I did not have to alter the cover stock where I bowl at for me to use it. I liked the Crux Prime but I had to bring it up to 5000 grit because it was too strong in the midlane and rolled out. The Gravity Evolve I really like because the ball got strong the more I used it. Plus it did not soak up oil that much during a set like some of the other balls like the Crux Prime. The Gravity Evolve is really clean in the mid lane and has a really strong back end reaction. If the gravity evolve starts to read to early, I would go to my Phaze 3. I have used this ball on Typical House shots, and also on Medium to Heavy Oil Patterns. I have had 1-300 Game with the Gravity Evolve. This is a ball I think you should have in your bag. This ball will be in my bag for Nationals. This is a Home Run for Storm. #stormnation Doug Cutler Storm Staffer PBA Regional Champion

The Gravity Evolve is the latest Premier line release and features the Shape Lock HD core from the famed Virtual Gravity, and the new SPEC coverstock that was on the Crux Prime. The result is a ball that feels like a blend between the original Virtual Gravity and the Virtual Gravity Nano, earlier and smoother than the OG, but a bit longer and stronger than the Nano. This is definitely the most shape we've seen out of the SPEC coverstock thus far, which is a strong, early, and smooth cover, but the aggression of the core helps create a nice balance of strength and control. Due to the shape differences, I don't see any overlap with the Crux Prime, but there may be some with the Halo. If you were a fan of the original VG or the VGN, the nostalgia is strong with this one, it will definitely take you back and remind you of those two.

My review of the Gravity Evolve from Storm This ball is everything you read about. This ball is STRONG! If you are looking for a ball that can handle a wet or long pattern then I would look into the Gravity Evolve. With the Asymmetrical weight block and SPEC solid coverstock you will have zero problem hooking this ball. I tested this ball on a pattern called Carbon. It isn't exactly a hard pattern but it has more oil than most bowlers are use to. I adjusted my surface and this ball was turning corners and driving through the pins with ease. I gave the ball some room to breath and it had no issue making it back to the pocket. 40x4x35 was my choice for a layout. Pick one up and see for yourself! Worth every penny in my opinion! I would put this ball up against the Crux Prime all day! Thanks for reading!

My Stats Left Handed Ball Speed: 15-16 mph Rev Rate: 375-400 PAP: 4 ½ over by ½ up Ball Storm Gravity Evolve Core: Shape-Lock HD Cover: SPEC Solid Surface: 2000 OOB Layout: 45 x 4 ½ x 65 I was one of the unlucky ones who did not get to enjoy in the original Virtual Gravity series, so you can imagine my excitement when I saw Storm's announcement of the Gravity Evolve. The Shape-Lock HD core wrapped around the strong SPEC cover makes this ball a beast for any heavier or longer lane conditions. For me, the Gravity Evolve provides more downlane motion than the Crux Prime, but still in a very controllable manner. The 45 x 4 ½ x 65 layout puts the pin under my bridge and MB kicked out a fair amount. This is one of my go-to layouts and it did not disappoint on the Gravity Evolve. I very rarely have seen this ball overreact on me, which is great for a high end piece. This ball reads the lane consistently and I have had no issues moving further inside as our house shot begins to break down and still carrying corner pins. Overall, I feel Storm has knocked it out of the park with this release. It should be a staple at the top end of their lineup for quite some time. Tyler Meyer Storm Pro Shop Staff

Storm Gravity Evolve 125 x 1.5 x 50 So far the SPEC cover has been very "Diggy" and smooth rolling. Both the Crux Prime and the Pro Motion are rounder in how they motion, so when selecting the layout on this ball I wanted to compliment the design intent as well as the other balls in my arsenal. This ball is very rolly and smooth, it does not over hook off of the friction, it just rolls. For league players, this ball will blend out the wet/dry very well, it is very controllable so don't expect skid/flip. This should be best used on heavier volumes, medium to longer lengths, and fresh oil. Speed dominant players - don't be afraid to use lower grit surfaces and stronger pins, rev dominant players looking for a strong ball, this is the one for you!

Storm Gravity Evolve Cover: SPEC Core: Shape-Lock HD Layout: 50 x 5.5 x 20 I drilled my Gravity Evolve 50 x 5.5 x 20 which puts the pin above my bridge with a very slight MB kick right. I get a very Crux Prime type look with this ball. To me, the balls are similar in where they pick up on the lane, but a similarly drilled Prime doesn't quite make the move on the backend that the Evolve does. It is almost like the Evolve has another gear just at the very last second. Compared to a Physix drilled the same, the Physix is noticeably longer with a lot faster response to friction. Simply put, Crux and Evolve are slow off the spot and the Physix is noticeably quicker when it sees friction. I don't think you can go wrong with either the Evolve, Prime, or Physix, but it really just depends if you need slower response to friction or if you want to see your ball bounce off the spot more. MPH: 19 Rev Rate: 398 Tilt: 4 degree PIP: 5.5 over 1/8th up Decided on a 3x4x1 layout. Why? The goal is to get the ball to be a bit slower through the front part of the lane therefore not overreacting when it responds to friction. Having the ball get into the roll sooner makes it easier to predict and more controllable on the back end. I liked my ability to play right longer vs. needing to jump inside sooner. I get plenty of flare on the ball and love how it gets into the roll quicker. When the fronts blow up and there is still hold in the middle you could use the same layout but ball down. This is a heavy rolling ball with the Shape-Lock high density core. This ball can power through heavy oil with ease!! Thank you Strikers Pro Shop & Coaching, Jeff Fox and Lava Lanes Bend for the support as always!! I appreciate you all more then you know!! My initial reaction out of the box was that I was going to have to really get left with this ball. After throwing a few shots it really blended out the condition where I had to move a little right. Great ball when there is a lot of oil up front

Another great release from Storm in the Gravity series. Early rolling controllable reaction that still has the energy to continue on the backend. Dual purpose ball that can be used to get the ball started and break down the pattern on high volumes. Also shines on the flatter patterns to smooth out the breakpoints and control the pocket.

This ball is amazing!! When I wanted a ball for medium to heavy oil I looked no further than the gravity evolve. For me this ball rolled very smooth with no jumping off the spot. Highly recommended for someone who likes a smooth rolling asymmetrical solid that wants an earlier roll.

The Gravity Evolve is the WOW factor with me! This ball is strong but man, this motion is amazing! The SPEC Cover with the Shape Lock HD core, this ball blends the front to back shape of the pattern really good!! The Gravity Evolve specs are, RG 2.48 Diff. 0.52 inter Diff 0.20. Asymmetrical balls for me are usually pretty strong and pick up on the oil and starts to die out downlane but, not with the Gravity Evolve. I put a 5 inch pin to PAP and it really controls the lane for me with a mid strength Mass Bias (PSA) position on my ball and for my style and I can play straight on flatter patterns and I can hit surface with a 1000 grit pad and I can get the ball to hook up and swing it a little bit more but still with a continuous breakpoint motion. This is one of the most versatile Asymmetrical balls I have thrown to date. For me, the Gravity Evolve is between the Physix/ UFO and AstroPhysiX. When this Gravity Evolve was announced, I was ecstatic to get it since I was a huge fan of the original Virtual Gravity. This ball does not disappoint. It reads the midlane hard and keeps continuing down lane. The colors of the ball really pop out on the shelf as well. I can use this ball on both house patterns and multiple sport patterns since it has so much control. It gives a nice backend shape and continues very well. The SPEC cover allows it to be strong in the oil when the conditions call for it. This ball also allows me to play deep angles which is unheard of in most High Performance balls today.

Over the last 10 years or so, we can all admit how good the "Gravity" series from Storm has been. The one that sticks out the most was the Virtual Gravity. Our best minds at Storm decided to use that famous Shape-Lock HD core and wrap the SPEC cover around it, to create the Gravity Evolve. It's been a nice addition to the line and my league / tournament bags. I've drilled one Gravity Evolve so far and have had success with it. I drilled it with the following layout: 4.5 x 4 x 70. This puts the pin above my bridge and the mass bias next to my thumb. I also hit the surface with 1000 pad with my goal being to use this ball on heavier volume patterns. With a strong drilling and a good amount of surface, the Gravity Evolve has a perfect spot in my bag when I need something early, forward, and strong. I've had success using the Gravity Evolve on a few different types of patterns. On shorter patterns, I've been able to throw it to the gutter and have it stand up / late the lane do all of the work down lane because the Evolve is so strong and forward. On the opposite side of the spectrum, when I've had to really gear down and throw it slow, the Evolve has read the lane perfectly when there's a good amount of oil on the lane. #StormNation

The Gravity Evolve is the latest of the SPEC Coverstocks, and this ball lives up to its hype. This ball reads the lane well even when lanes are breaking down and it seems to blend those lanes so well that it gives you the control you are looking for. With the SPEC Coverstock it doesn't absorb oil as fast therefore maintaining a more consistent reaction. This ball is definitely the most shape we've seen out of the SPEC coverstock, which is a strong, early, and smooth cover, but the aggression of the core helps create a nice balance of strength and control. When I compare this ball to the CRUX Prime I find much more control off the end of the pattern. I have drilled 2 of these, one with a 3 3/4" pin and one with a 5" pin and the longer pin seems to work best for me on most patterns and the ball stands up nicely but continues to hit with amazing power even on shots that are not flush in the pocket. I highly recommend this ball as a strong ball in your bag that you can trust.

Gender : Female Rev Rate : 315 Ball Speed: 16.5 mph P.A.P : 4 1/2 & 1-1/8 up The Gravity Evolve is not something That I would typically use on a house shot But if you're looking for something for higher volume patterns where you need to fight through the oil then I think this would be a great addition. Though this ball is very strong, it's still very controllable and even rolling down lane. The evolve definitely has a slower down lane reaction which makes it easier to move left with your feet and cover more boards without losing energy or carry through the pins. STORM | Gravity Evolve Review - John Struckman Like many other bowlers, one of my favorite bowling balls of all time would be the VIRTUAL GRAVITY! Remember when that bowling ball came out and it seemed like everyone had one??? Practically every rack had one or more of them on them... And now Storm Bowling puts a modern spin on the original Virtual Gravity - out comes the GRAVITY EVOLVE. Excited about this ball is an understatement! Using the same Shape Lock HD Core and pairing it with the new cover SPEC which is also found on the CRUX PRIME and PRO MOTION reminds me of the loved Virtual Gravity but gives the control and heavy rolling shape bowlers need in their bags to combat adverse lane conditions. Technical numbers = RG 2.48 / DIFF .052 / 2000 grit abralon factory finish / 6"+ flare potential / SPEC Solid Coverstock / Asymmetrical Weightblock / Shape Lock HD. I have found this bowling ball to be versatile and allows me to smooth out overall reaction and control the break point. Controlling the middle of the lane with a strong asymmetrical ball can be essential to bowling on tough lane conditions. When the Crux Prime becomes too much ball and can't control the down lane reaction, Gravity Evolve has been a great bowling ball to pull out of the bag. I highly recommend having an Asymmetrical ball in your bag, especially one that can control the middle and back ends. Gravity Evolve has a spot in my arsenal.

The new Storm Gravity Evolve gives me a ton of different angles I can play with all the continuation you could ever want. That big core gets it into a roll early but it never burns up down-lane. It's very strong and would be a great choice for all types of bowlers. Especially on high volume oil patterns. A+

Storm Gravity Evolve The Gravity Evolve is the newest premiere release from Storm. It utilizes Shape-Lock HD as the engine and SPEC as the tires. The HD stands for high density which should give bowlers a heavy rolling shape on the lane. The numbers for a 15 pound Evolve are 2.48 RG, .052 diff and .020 intermediate diff. SPEC makes another appearance here, coming off two great releases, the Crux Prime and ProMotion. We tested on Stone Street, which measures out to 42 feet with a nine and half to one ratio. We use Kegel Curve for our conditioner. It took our ball tester a few shots to get comfortable with the Evolve. Our tester was right handed, with about 400 out of his hand and his speed is right around 17mph. He said it was the strongest ball he's thrown in awhile. Normally we stay safe with his ball choice, something more mellow to combat wet dry house shots. Once he moved his feet left and trusted the reaction, it was impressive to see how much room the Gravity created. Watching him bowl, I would put it between a SureLock and a CodeX as far as angle down lane. That seems pretty specific but, it makes sense from my stand point. If you're looking for a big rolling asymmetric ball to battle those high volume patterns, look no further. Another great design from team Utah Stop by your local Storm VIP ProShop and experience the GravityEvolve.

Alright so at first glance this is an easy choice for me! I am higher ball speed and lower tilt player. I am usually around 17 MPH with about 475 RPM, these SPEC coverstocks are the truth... I have no fear I can stand left and send it right with confidence its coming back from anywhere. I bowl in a house with a lot more oil and I generally struggle getting my ball through the oil if I need to play farther left on the fresh. Well not with this one, paired with the Shape Lock HD Core I get about 4-6 more boards of total hook than my Crux Prime drilled with the same Layout! I have been looking for a ball to pair with my Crux Prime when the volume is just too high for the Catalyst core to make it up the hill I know the Gravity Evolve can! layout 85x4x45

The Storm Gravity Evolve was such an easy choice for me! I have a lower ball speed, around 14 mph, and a lower rev rate, about 275 rpm so these SPEC cover stocks are the truth! I have no fear I can stand left and send it right with confidence, knowing it will come back from anywhere. I bowl in a house with a lot more oil and I generally struggle to get my ball through the oil if I need to play farther left. But, not with this ball. The SPEC cover paired with the Shape Lock HD Core I get about 5-7 more boards of total hook than my Crux Prime drilled with the same layout! Which was a great option for me to have something just a bit more aggressive when I need to open up the lanes some. If you are looking for a ball to help you open up the lanes give the Storm Gravity Evolve a shot today. My Layout: 40x4x25

Out of the box, like other SPEC cover stocks I've had, I added a little polish and this ball just came to life. (generally the places I bowl don't usually need surface) On a house pattern, this ASSYM is best for me when I'm playing the track area more direct and up the lane. As the transition occurs and I migrate left, this ball blends everything and keeps up with the breakdown of the lanes very well for smaller moves as I go. I haven't really found myself in a situation where this one ever hooks too much. It's a great combination of control and continuation. If I were to give an example of the reaction of the Gravity Evolve, it would be a combination of a RotoGrip Hyper Cell Fused, crossed with a Storm Phaze 2.

The Gravity Evolve is the most recent Asym. using the legendary ShapeLock HD core. The Virtual Gravity changed the game. This time around, Storm is using the SPEC overstock that is also a game changer. The Gravity Evolve reaction wise is predictable in the mid lane with a strong smooth reaction off the spot. comparing this ball to the ProMotion, which also has the SPEC cover, I see the Gravity reading the lane a little sooner and providing more control down lane. The ProMotion is cleaner and more angular off the spot, especially after it gets some lane shine to it. The Gravity Evolve is going to be at the top of my bag as something that I go to when needed. For me the First ball out of my bag right now is the ProMotion. Layout on the Gravity Evolve is 60x5x35. Balls that are getting some looks right now: Winner Solid- 60x5x35 PhysiX-60x5x35 ProMotion-60x5x35 CodeX-60x5x70 Idol Pearl-60x5-1/2x35

Length:42 Volume: High Type (THS, Sport Pattern etc):THS Rev Rate: 450 Ball Speed: 17 mph PAP: 5 1/16 x 3/4 up Introducing the Gravity Evolve, the newest release in the Primer line. With this release they bring back the Shape Lock HD core used in the original Virtual Gravity and wrap it with the SPEC Solid cover. With the release of of the Gravity Evolve I think they have captured the magic they had with the Virtual Gravity. The layout I used on this one was 5 x 4 x 2 1/2 which puts the pin right above my fingers. I was blown away with what I saw from this ball. It handled the fresher heavier conditions with ease but what really impressed me was when they started to break down and I started moving in it just didn't quit!
