Belmo's newest release with Storm has the looks, but does it have the touch? If you need something to get down lane easily without sacrificing backend power this is what you are looking for. Sometimes it can get a tad jumpy on me but when it is the look, it is THE LOOK. I have also noticed it likes to be clean, if I don't keep up on my ball maintenance I don't love the look I start to get from it. It can be unpredictable at times but never enough to take it out of play. Great ball for a  house shot in particular.

If you're a big fan of Jason Belmonte and have liked his past balls, you'll definitely like this one! The Fate is a monster with being able to clear the fronts and the motion of looking like someone kicked it left. It has no boundaries as I did see it look better through transition but definitely playable on the fresh. It is a great compliment to pieces like a Phaze 2, IQ Tour, and Zen. Storm Fate Layout - 60 x 5 x 30 Likes: Clean through the heads, strong backend reaction. Great 3rd game ball for my bag. For me the ball did not like seeing oil early in the league session. This ball was great after the lanes started to transition and I could not throw my benchmark Zen anymore. Dislikes: Pretty comparable to the Phase V in my opinion, just a bit stronger. Not different enough on a typical house shot to have both in the bag. Tournament bag however, definitely.

And with its combination of the new F-8 symmetrical Core and the proven ReX Pearl Coverstock, the Fate delivered some very satisfying results on a THS for this straighter, high-speed/low-rev player. So, let's take a closer look and see why Fate belongs in your arsenal! When I first rolled the Fate, I was pleasantly caught off guard by the crisp yet balanced motion I saw from the F-8 symmetrical Core. First, I liked how the F-8 Core gradually builds momentum through the mid-lane and stores plenty of inertia as it heads toward the pins. And as the F-8 Core "stands up" and makes its move to the pocket, I like how the F-8 is decisive in its motion but also has welcomed forgiveness that I didn't expect to see. And as I got more dialed in with the Fate, I could count on the F-8 Core to provide a clear margin of era that increased my strike percentage! Further, as it unleashed its stored inertia, I liked how the F-8 Core strikes with a brisk and powerful impact yet leaves enough energy for a strong continuation through the pins. And lastly, as a straighter, high-speed/low-rev player, I found the F-8 Core to be an excellent balance of torque and power that is reliable for my style. The ReX Pearl coverstock is an excellent choice for the Fate. However, the Reacta Gloss finish needed tweaking for my speed and rev rate. Surface is a straighter bowler's best friend, and on a THS, the surface can be the difference between striking or leaving you with ten-pin nightmares. So, I sanded the ReX Pearl with 1000-grit Abralon and followed it up with Storm's Step #3 (1500-2500) compound, and the results were outstanding! On a fresh THS, the Rex Pearl cut cleanly through the front part of the lane and had a crisp, biting motion through the mid-lane. And as the Fate made its way off the pattern, I liked that the ReX Pearl was decisive without overreacting off the exit. And as the night progressed, I enjoyed how the ReX Pearl kept its consistent motion without becoming jumpy or erratic through the spotty conditions. So, overall, I found that the Rex Pearl coverstock performed brilliantly on fresh and burned THS conditions. And with the proper surface adjustment, it produced some quite effective results. So, in conclusion, the Fate is a superb release in the Storm Signature series. And for any straighter, down-and-in player, the Fate is an excellent choice to complement your game. Furthermore, I highly suggest the Fate as your "go-to" when strong asymmetrical balls like the Storm Infinite Physix's become too much ball for the conditions. Storm Fate Coverstock: ReX Pearl Core: F-8 Factory Finish: Reacta Gloss Layout: 4 x 6 x 4 Belmo's newest collaboration with Storm is the Fate. The Fate has the ReX pearl cover found on Dark Code and Infinite Physix, two of my recent favorite releases. The Fate has a new core called the F-8, which has enhanced differential allowing multiple angles and superior performance. To avoid another long and flippy type reaction, I decided to try a pin under on my Fate which allows it to start up a bit sooner and rounds out the backend. Compared to my identically drilled Phaze II, the Fate is a very nice complement with the Fate being a touch sharper and the Phaze II being earlier and more round. My pin up Phaze V definitely retains more and has a more angular shape on the backend. The Fate seems to match up for a variety of styles. I find it to be a nice league ball that can be used all night long because it is strong enough on the fresh but also manages transition well. As we move into tournament season, I expect the Fate to be useful on flatter medium volume/length sport patterns in games 3-4 as they blend out a bit. Storm Fate Specs: F-8 core with ReX pearl reactive coverstock finished with Storm Reacta Gloss Layout: 50 x 5 x 50 I was chopping at the bits waiting for this ball since I wanted something to replace my 900 Global Wolverine that served me quite well for several months. I used a little stronger overall layout over the Wolverine because I started to bowl more and more at a center with SPLs that are well maintained and well cared for. Well, Storm and Belmo came out swinging with this latest signature release. I really love the overall and readable reaction, and I can see more bowlers using the Storm FATE over any other of the signature releases. Of all the newer releases, this has become a favorite for me fast. It has a little later angle entry then my trusted Hyped Hybrid, but not shockingly hard like the Phaze V with Reacta Gloss. I feel that the Reacta Gloss bonds very well to the ReX coverstock. I found myself using the FATE more and more in practice and league matches because the ball just works well on all stages of the pattern breakdown, if the track area starts burning up, I don't have to make major changes, I will move left and go more direct and using a breakpoint farther down the lane instead of changing to a different ball. The Storm FATE has actually taught me how to play the lanes better during the course of a match, practice or even fun bowling with friends. The Storm FATE has been heavily used during the Storm Matchmakers events that I have been a part of or had the privilege to run and coordinate. The Storm FATE is a solid piece for any level of bowler and any type of lane surface and pattern. The FATE is the newest in the Belmo line of balls. Having thrown everyone so far I can say that they have gotten better with each release. The FATE is using a new core that has not been used before so that alone gives us something new to the ball motion as it goes through all three phases of ball motion. What I saw from this and even the Trend2 which was also a "Belmo" ball were that these balls were the sharpest off the pattern for me. With the lower rev rate I like to use this ball on the fresh to help burn up / open up a spot down lane. This ball can and will be useful for many types of styles including #2hands. This ball is also very responsive to surface changes as 4K-Fast and Reacta Gloss has not match up with my style and rev rate I have been taking an older 2000 pad to knock the shine off on a spinner. Different results may vary so if you get a ball with either finish feel free to try it first to see if it matches up to you and your style. Belmo is back with yet another collaboration with Storm! This time Storm brings the f-8 core which features a slightly higher RG than your typical benchmark pieces, which helps get the ball down the lane just a touch more. Think of Hy-Road with a little more mid-lane read! Doesn't that sound amazing! The Fate will be beneficial in league for myself especially in a bowing center where there is a ton of friction in the fronts. The mid-RG and Reacta-Gloss finish help to clear the ball through the fronts but maintains enough mid-lane read where my ball doesn't jump off the back of the pattern. It has also looked great on some medium length sport patterns when I need to create a little more shape and a little less traction! The newest addition to the Belmo and Storm collaboration line. Introducing, the brand new Storm Fate. The new F-8 core wrapped around the ReX Pearl reactive cover stock that was also featured on the very successful Dark Code, makes for a deadly combination. I'm very excited about this ball. I believe this Fate is going to be the perfect fit when I need a symmetrical option with enough teeth to cover a lot of boards across the lane. Rotation 50. Speed at release 17 Review: The new Fate is no doubt my favorite Belmo Series ball. This is the most versatile and should fit most types of bowlers regardless of their style. I have been using this ball a lot in my leagues and normally can stay with it all three games and adjustments are very easy to make as the pattern breaks down. I have really been impressed with how the Fate hits and carries. I believe this is because of how it stores energy for the back part of the lane. The Fate has a nice angular motion even when moving deeper inside. This ball has been selling really well and the lower to higher rev rate bowlers all seem to be having very good success with it. I would call the Fate a medium to strong ball that fits under my Exotic Gem but above my Electrify G/O. The Fate is also a bit weaker overall than my Phase V but with a more angular motion. I recommend this ball to anyone who wants a medium to strong benchmark ball with a strong back end. I don't think you can go wrong with a Fate in your bag. Summary: The Fate is an excellent ball for all types of styles. The way the Fate moves on the back provides hard hit and excellent carry. Although this formula provides an extreme angular impact on a bowling ball the Reacta Gloss finish helps the ball move longer through the front part of the lane. In addition, your eyes will see a more controlled reaction compared to the traditional 1500 Factory Finish polish that was previously used. The FATE will perform best in situations where you need to open your angles on most THS conditions. The FATE will provide a nice amount of length with good recovery downlane. If you are currently a fan of the previous Belmo releases you already know what this one can do. If you have not been introduced to the FATE be sure to check this one out. For me, I decided to go with my standard benchmark 2LS layout. Before rolling this ball I was a bit concerned that the the FATE would be a touch sideways and likely over/under for me. However, I was pleasantly surprised how smooth the FATE is through the front part of the lane and the room I had available off the spot as I continued to move inside. From what I personally have witnessed so far from SPI MatchMaker events and for the limited time I have had with this ball it appears to be a homerun for most league conditions. At this time, I have not changed the surface on my FATE, but likely will touch it up with a 3K or 4K pad. As a general rule I tend to knock the factory shine off most of my pearl pieces. I drilled my FATE at 60 x 4.5 x 30 which is a favorite drilling for me on pearl balls. I cracked the surface with a fresh 3000 pad to get the shine a little duller. I put it side by side with some other high end pearl Storm releases like the PHAZE V, INFINITE PHYSIX, and NIGHT ROAD. I used this primarily on house conditions as when it was released, the PBA50 regional season had ended. On our house shot which is close to 40 feet with medium volume, the FATE is a beast and sometimes hard to control if playing too close to the friction. Obviously compared to the INFINITE, the FATE is a ball or two down as the INFINITE is definitely stronger and earlier. The PHAZE V is closer to the FATE. The FATE got thru to the spot a little easier for me and if I scuffed the PHAZE V, then the FATE would be a great 1-2 option for these pairings. Compared to the NIGHT ROAD, the FATE is quicker and stronger. Again another 1-2 option scenario with a little surface on the FATE. To me, the FATE is the strongest Belmo release from Storm so far. Drill this one up when you want something to get thru the fronts cleaner or when you INFINITE is starting up too quickly.

Storm Fate – I love the colors of this ball! They really catch your eye going down the lane. Compared to my phase 5, this ball hooks just a little bit less and gets down the lane just a bit further before it hooks. It's a great addition to my arsenal as a benchmark type of ball.

The Fate is the newest collab between Storm Bowling and Jason Belmonte. This thing is a backend monster! The mid-RG makes the core spin further down the lane, while the higher differential makes the ball flare enough to recover from anywhere! The 4th iteration of REX Pearl, this cover compliments this core in a way that gives it length, traction, and continuation. This ball is great for those rev-dominant players who want to see the ball clear the mids and jerk down the lane!

Wrapped in the REX pearl coverstock, the new F8 core is by far one of the strongest cores I have thrown and is one of the strongest symmetrical cores to date in the Storm line-up. This strong core/cover combination allows the Fate to blend wet/dry conditions like house shots or sport patterns when they start to blow open. I drilled my Fate with a 4x4x4 2LS, which has been my go-to layout on my pearls like my Phaze 4, Phaze 5, and Wolverine Dark Moss. The stronger cover on the Fate bridges a gap between my Zen and my IQ Tour Emerald or Ruby. Like the Night Road, it cleans the fronts very well. However, it starts to pick up a couple of feet earlier than the NR and gives me a reaction like the Wolverine DM. I think the closest thing in the SPI line-up is the Dark Moss. Nonetheless, This has by far been my favorite Belmo release to date. The Fate is clean through the fronts but gives me a consistent and strong reaction down lane. Storm Fate Ball Review by Trevor Roberts The Fate is the newest collaboration between Storm and Jason Belmonte. I have liked several of Belmo's previous releases, so I was excited for this one! I noticed right away that the Fate has a very clean cover stock, which allows it to clear the fronts very easily. I practiced with this ball on both a fresh house shot and one that had a lot of games on it, and it got through the fronts on both very well. You will notice that the Fate hooks quite a bit down lane when it sees the friction. I threw it alongside the Wolverine and Night Road, and the Fate out hooked them both. It surprised me how fast it was off the spot. This is going to allow you to open up your angles and have the confidence it is going to hook back from further right.

The FATE will be a welcome addition to the arsenal of anyone who is a fan of the Belmo Balls. The Fate features the new F-8 core. This strong symmetric core features a higher RG for length but a higher Differential for power. They teamed it up with a highly polished version of the REX cover which was so popular on the Dark Code. The new reacta gloss finish really gets the length and I think it works well with this core. I tested the Fate on our high volume house pattern at my home center. While it certainly is strong enough to use on a fresh pattern, for me it's best use was in the transition. This ball is really good at clearing the fronts when they burn up which is a constant worry on our surface. Alot of balls can feel very over/under because the added volume tends to result in carrydown. When the fronts burn and the backs tighten up simultaneously it can make you feel like you're in jail here game 2. The fate shows its power in the perfect part of the lane for this starting its motion midlane but making a strong continuous move off the back of the pattern. I think the motion of the Fate will also be very popular on sport patterns as they transition and in places where they over-oil to counter act a not so great surface. The Fate is an exceptionally well rounded and versatile ball. It's fairly clean and responsive, but that's tempered by the strength of the ReX cover formula which gives it strength and control. It can be in play on a very wide range of conditions for a wide variety of bowlers because of its very balanced ball reaction. I used a 4.5 x 4 x 2 layout and left it at the Reacta Gloss box surface, I'm left handed, speed of 17mph, and rev rate of 375. The Fate gives me a reaction I don't normally get out of shiny balls on the left side, typically I have to use surface on something to get this kind of reaction, but the Fate puts me in a strong but smooth and controllable reaction while not transitioning the lane as fast as something with more surface does.

The overall strength surprised me. Possibly as strong a shiny ball as I've used. While the amount of backend motion was incredible it still didn't have any trouble handling some oil for me. Definitely fills a spot in the bag that I didn't have.

It features the new F-8 core, which in 15-lbs has a medium RG (2.52) and a strong differential (0.053), and is wrapped in the ReX pearl coverstock with the Reacta Gloss finish. This produces a ball motion that's clean with a round and continuous backend that's pretty versatile. I've found the Reacta Gloss finish to be pretty comparable to the previous 1500-grit polish. So, as I often do with shiny bowling balls, I hit the surface with an old 3000-grit Abralon pad by hand just to get a few scratches on the surface and tame down how quickly the ball responds to friction. I've quickly become a big fan of the ReX pearl cover which is also found on the Dark Code, Infinite PhysiX and Night Road – it digs in the oil more than R2S but still manages to produce a strong backend motion. The ball motion I get from Fate is controllable yet clean and responsive. I liken it to a stronger Hy-Road, or perhaps a better comparison is the (now banned) Spectre. Compared to the Phaze V, which has a stronger core but weaker cover, Fate gets more traction in the oil and isn't as quick off the dry – I think of Fate as a smoother Phaze V. The Fate is strong enough to dig through all but the heaviest of oil, but it retains energy so it's still firm off the friction. The extra traction keeps the ball in play and I've been able to stay with it for an entire league set. Plus, being a Belmo ball, it's safe to say that the Fate has no problem with steeper angles towards the end of league. The Fate is a perfect fit between Infinite PhysiX and Night Road as all three feature the same ReX pearl cover and offer great progression as the lanes go through transition. League players will undoubtedly this one, and tournament bowlers in need of a transition ball should look no further. I know many folks are on one side of the fence or the other when it comes to Belmo balls. I was pleasantly surprised when throwing this ball. It has that nice smooth shape with a sharper angular backend motion and strong continuation through the pins. The Fate is like several pearl balls we have in the SPI line. It is a bit later than the Zen and Phaze V and a bit more angular on the backend. The FATE is a ball you can move in with and will come around the corner and finish strong.
