Breaking rules and building balls with a conviction others would probably call crazy. But that’s how you do things when you’re young. When we have a problem that needs solving, everyone participates. We hold often-impromptu meetings, where wild ideas are born and deep-seated concepts come screaming to life. BE FAST OR BE LAST Many look to Storm to cut through oil and create supreme entry angle, but not every situation requires maximum ball motion. In fact, shorter oil patterns and drier conditions can be as equally as challenging as a lane with oil backed up to the head pin. Balls in the urethane classification can be sensitive to the weight blocks put inside them. The perfect position of the RG, the proper amount of differential, symmetric vs asymmetric – these all play a vital role in the motion in this type of ball. Dialing in the precise measure of each was no easy feat, but we were up to the challenge. Urethanes are meant to bring back the breakpoint to control shorter patterns. But when the RG is too low, the end result is simply too much of a good thing. The higher RG, medium differential Tour Block weight block keeps the Fast Pitch reading the lane exactly where its needed. Controll XL is making its debut on the Fast Pitch, bringing the performance characteristics between the Pitch BlackTM and the Pitch PurpleTM. The Pitch Black reigns supreme as the hook/set type of reaction with the Pitch Purple being the cleaner and more angular option. The Fast Pitch blends the line between early read and entry angle making it the most versatile Pitch series ball to date.

I drilled this ball 50X4X40. This ball offers the Control XL solid cover with numbers at 2.61 and .030. I feel this urethane is smoother than the pitch black and less backend motion as the pitch purple. i play this ball around the 2-3 board and it easily walks into the pocket with a surprising amount of carry. This ball would be good more outside shot or second game or late in the block when the oil is gone. Urethane is something everyone needs in rotation.

The fast pitch is the perfect middle ball to the pitch black and the pitch purple. All you urethane lovers are gunna want to add this one to the bag if you want a new motion. This one definitely fits the bill. I use this one when the pitch black is to much and the purple is not enough yet.

Storm Fast Pitch Ball Review by PJ Haggerty The new Storm Fast pitch is the latest Urethane addition to the Storm line. Obviously, the urethane balls have made a huge impact on the game of bowling the last couple years, and the Fast Pitch has quickly became my favorite. I've had a lot of success with the Pitch Black on multiple patterns and have noticed some differences with the Fast Pitch. I've drilled one Fast Pitch so far and really like it. I mapped it out as 4 x 3 and the surface is currently at 1000. The easiest ball to compare the Fast Pitch against is the Pitch Black. The Fast Pitch still digs in the front like the Pitch Black, but it's definitely cleaner and more responsive down lane. I've been able to move left, keep my eyes right, and create some shape with the Fast Pitch. Also, the patterns I've been able to use the Fast Pitch on are all patterns with lighter volumes. It tends to blend the lane out front-to-back and the pocket becomes bigger with this ball. If you need an excellent urethane ball in your bag, the Fast Pitch is what you should drill! #StormNation

PAP 4 ½ over and 1 up ball speed 15 rev rate 275 Drilling 75x4.5x55 When first looking at the Fast Pitch I was a little tentative to pick a layout, I really like my Pitch Black and didn't want them to overlap. After some thinking I decided to go with the same layout as my Black just a further pin to PAP distance. This giving me a little less flare potential to hopefully show me more length an continuation with the Fast Pitch, that being said I absolutely love the motion. I get about 3 feet more length and around 4 boards more overall hook, which is perfect because my Purple is about 8 boards stronger down lane than my Black so everything fits together like a puzzle! I find the Fast also gives me a great look on the fresh for patterns around 39-43 feet!

PAP 3 ¾ over 1" up ball speed 17 rev rate 475 Drilling 65x5x75 So I went with a pin down layout to pair with the Fast Pitch's design intent. When drilling a new ball it is extremely important to follow along with a balls particular attributes. With that said compared to my Pitch Purple the Fast is about 3 ft sooner and 3 boards less overall hook. In comparison to the black they are quite a bit closer the Fast being a little smoother through the fronts and hooks maybe 2 boards more overall. For me the Fast is a Perfect gap filler for the Purple and the Black. If you didnt find success with a fever pitch and are looking for something in between the Fast Pitch is perfect. I find this much more usable on my sport shots than the Black and is quickly seeing the lanes more often.

Storm's newest urethane features an all new core and cover combination. The Fast Pitch features the Tour Block core, which resembles the trusted Hy-Road core and has an RG of 2.61 and has a diff of 0.030 in 15 lbs. It also features the new Controll XL solid urethane cover which fits in-between the Controll Solid in the Pitch Black and the Rev-Controll Solid in the Pitch Purple. I drilled mine 5 x 5 x 3 and after throwing mine for awhile I noticed that it gave me the same reaction as a Pitch Black with a just overall strong motion. I would actually compare the Fast Pitch more to a Roto Grip Hot Cell on strength but this ball will absolute help all urethane loving tournament bowlers you stride for the blended shape urethane gives and short pattern dominance.

The newest urethane bowling ball in the Thunder Line is the brand new Fast Pitch! This ball features the Controll XL Solid Urethane Coverstock wrapped around the Tour Block Core! The Fast Pitch is a different shape from Storm when it comes to urethane balls! My Fast Pitch I drilled is pin over my ring finger with the CG kicked which is pretty standard layout for me when it comes to urethane balls! For me this fits the gap extremely well between the Pitch Black and Pitch Purple! Sometimes the Pitch Black isn't quite enough but the Pitch Purple is to much off the spot on shorter or medium lane conditions this Fast Pitch will come into play! It's smoother than a Pitch Purple but more than a Pitch Black! If your looking for a brand new Urethane shape for shorter to medium lane conditions this is the ball!

Fast Pitch Layout - 55 x 4.75 x 25 The Fast Pitch is the perfect compliment between the Pitch Black and Pitch Purple! Its more overall hook than the Pitch Black and cleaner through the front. The Pitch Purple was a bit too shiny out of the box for me, I needed to take the shine off of it to get it to behave more like Urethane. The Fast Pitch is going to bridge that gap between the 2! It is a perfect mixture of both! Slower ball speed players and tournament players definitely need to put this one in your bag!

The Fast Pitch features the Control XL solid cover wrapped around the tour block core. This cover resembles much of the same characteristics as the control solid cover found on the Pitch Black, but does so from a zone farther down the lane. This is accomplished by a series of additives in the cover that allow it to absorb oil at a very slow rate. Not nearly as fast as the Fever Pitch and Pitch Purple, but quicker than something like the Purple Hammer. This combined with a no filler core provides a shape and continuation matched by nothing on the current market. I was and still am a huge Fever Pitch fan. I'm currently on my 6th one, with two more stashed for later on. The one thing the Fever Pitch struggles with, is slowing down enough to use the first game of a block on a short pattern. The Fast Pitch utilizes the same core with a cover that provides more friction to use before I get into my Fever Pitches. When compared to the Pitch Black, the Fast Pitch is roughly as strong left to right but starts to precess 3 to 4 feet later than the Pitch Black. The Fast Pitch will be a great option for when you still need a urethane esq shape, but the Pitch Black is slowing down too fast to properly travel through the pins. Be sure to stop into your local Storm VIP pro shop and pre-order your very own Fast Pitch for the October 9th release! Review Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UIYKUnHUFz8&t=1s

The Fast Pitch is the newest ball in the thunder line and Storm's newest Urethane Ball. The fast pitch fits perfectly between the Pitch Black and Pitch Purple in terms of overall strength and continuation. The fast pitch to me is a great "benchmark" urethane ball and it isn't as early rolling as the Pitch Black and not as angular as the Pitch Purple. I prefer to use this ball on short oil and sport patterns as it really controls the backend. As lane surfaces become older and oil becomes less, it is pertinent to have bowling balls that don't read the front of the lane as strong but has stronger midlane roll. This Fast Pitch really accomplishes that task and gives a lot of the right ball motions that are really needed for a urethane ball. If you have a Pitch Black that is too strong or a Pitch Purple that you can't use as much as you want, then this Fast Pitch is the ball for you!

The Fast Pitch is the newest urethane ball from Storm. As you know the Pitch Black and Pitch Purple are already staples in most Storm bowler's bags, so this Fast Pitch will add another motion in that line. When I reviewed the Fast Pitch on my YouTube channel, I of course had to compare it to those two other urethanes. The Fast pitch for me fit right in the middle of the two. The Pitch Black picks up in the front part of the lane, where as the Fast Pitch is a little cleaner and more responsive in the middle third of the lane. The Pitch Purple is the cleanest and most angular of the three, so I believe that this Fast Pitch is more similar to the Pitch Black.

Fast Pitch: The Fast Pitch is a throw back to old urethane providing plenty of control from front to back. The Fast Pitch features the Tour Block Core combined with the Control XL coverstock. The Fast Pitch fits perfectly between the Pitch Black and Pitch Purple as it is not as early as the black yet not as long as the purple. This will be a great option to go to when bowling on those short to medium patterns and control is of the essence.
