Brigham City, Utah - STORM Products announces the release of the "BLUE THUNDER STORM PEARL."
This factory polished high performance bowling ball introduces CURELYON reactive
cover stock for greater length and possesses "glow in the dark" properties.
The weight block of the "BLUE THUNDER PEARL" features a modified two piece construction with the FE2 ionized weight mass in the 13 through 16lb models. A unique single density weight block is utilized in the construction of the 11 1/2 and 12lb. versions. In 10 and 11lbs., a dual puck/four piece core design is adopted.
Following the success of the "BLACK THUNDER STORM," named by one leading bowling publication as "1996 Ball of the Year," the "BLUE THUNDER PEARL" is designed to have more length down the lane and a sharper back end reaction. The medium-low RD "BLUE THUNDER PEARL" has a track flare potential of 6"+ and a hook rating of 17.
The appearance of the "BLUE THUNDER PEARL" includes a trio-colored "PBA" logo (a first in the bowling industry), the Streaking STORM "S" logo, "STORM" center of gravity logo, orange/yellow "BLUE THUNDER" logo, "STORM" logo, and orange locator pin.

Back in '97 I saw P.D.W. using one, so I just HAD to have one, but was totally disappointed. Ball was so unpredictable and skid/flip for me that it was useless. Fast forward to 2007. Guy has one he want to trade me for a P.O.S. ball I had in my bag, so we swapped. The Thunder was drilled strong, so I just slugged the thumb and re-drilled. Totally different story than the first time around. This one reads the lanes so nice. Clears the heads smoothly and makes a really hard snappish arc, not a hook, with MUCH predictability and carry is great. Not oil sensitive at all, only need to use it on the condition it is meant for. Now, I am looking at getting the Thunderstrucks. Same core and stronger/better coverstock. If they are anything like this, almost everybody could use one on a T.H.S., except for the extremes.

I'm only posting this review because I managed to find a brand new BT Pro on Ebay(which I will be reviewing later). Anyway, I remember getting this ball the day before the Tournament of Champions, so I couldn't get familiar with it. But it was my first Storm ever, and did hook more than any other ball I had thrown, so the novelty of it was thrilling. I eventually threw my first 700 series with this gem, so that's a fond memory. Needless to say, I became a Storm fan from then on. I followed with the Thunder Road, Meteor Storm, and the Bolt. But brand new out of the box, it was a beautiful sight rolling down the lane.I can't wait to try the pro version. 10 out of 10.

This ball is awsome on carrydown and on really out of bounds shots where u might need some room to get ur ball to the pocket. I know if i make JOG then this will deffidently bring this ball along. I think from now on its going to b storm and storm only. I got the ball from a center where it has been used (abused) as a house ball for the last few years. bought this ball got it filled and drilled leverage with a 3 3/8" pin a little right and down off the ring finger and cg kicked out to produce enough side weight for an extra hole and put a resurface on it. now this one hooks like mad - holds energy well to explode on the backend. I`m an 350 rpm player and if I put some hand on it this ball it comes back from about the 4-5 board for a good carry except some solid 9s I think this happens because of the angularity but HEY this ball did cost me 10$ :-)
