Venus

Once again Roto Grip® delivers exceptional performance that far exceeds the price with the introduction of the Venustm. We bring you a light loaded particle pearl coverstock (Sure Grip IItm pearl particle) for enhanced traction on those lane conditions that have more volume in the front of the lane but the overall pattern is shorter. The Orbitertm core with its oversized body and flip block provides far superior ball motion than all the competition combined. The synergy of coverstock and core is definitely another WINNER from Roto Grip®.

The venus hooks way more than I ever thought it would...especially for the price of the ball..its almost a steal. The Venus gives very good midlane reads...and even better backend break off the spot. As is true with all RG balls that I have thrown, it hits like a ton of bricks... carries pretty good..the occasional ten or seven will stand and fight. I threw this ball on the PBA "VIPER" pattern and was awed. The Venus was going straight down the lane at around 8-10 and the made a turn left and slammed the pocket. Great Ball...another winner from ROTO

This bowling ball was recommended by a pro shop for a dry lane ball. Wanted a cheap ball that would clear the heads and make a very small turn on the backend. We not what a got my venus clears the head and jumps on the backend probably 10 boards movement on the backend. Pins is above the ring the mb kicked right supposed to clear heads with continuation through the pins it snaps not arcs. We i recommend this ball for anyone wanting a cheap bowling ball that hooks like a high performance. It hooks almost as much as my RAID and Shift do. Very disappointed by the DRY LANE description the ROTO GRip gave for this ball

Since rejoining bowling after 15 years away, this is the ball the local pro shop recommended. I took his advice, since he has known me for 25+ years and knows my style of bowling. It did take an adjustment to the ball, it was sanded to give me the more gradual hook which I am accustomed to. My oler balls were the urethane balls of the late 80s and 1990. The charge at the end of the lane is fantastic and I do not worry about the pocket 8-10s from my old urethane balls. I Have thrown back to back 600s for the first timethis year which has brought my average almost to 200, which is what I averaged prior to getting away from bowling for 15 years. I still use my urethanes for the 10 pin since it goes straighter. Looking forward to getting a ball which will handle a little more oil on the lanes.

14lbs 5oz, 3.4 oz.T.W.,3" pin. Drilled label leverage. At first I was somewhat disappointed in this offering but I endevoured to purservere with this orb. My patience was shot I was getting angry. Then I moved outside first down 10 GRRRR,then down 5 ARRRRG, out to 2, now the channel was clean from front to back. I was sure this ball would find the dumpster and my buddy now in tears from laughter bellied out between gasps "quit grabbing it your not on a date" so up the back I went. Straight up the 2 board and 45' later she went hit friction and smoothly faced the pocket and struck. Beautiful, time after time it worked not all strikes but the concept of me playing outside priceless.

over all, its a decent ball, especially for the money. didnt like that all it would do is skid on anything but real light to dry lanes, had to play about hte fifteen or sixteen board to get it to hit the pocket even on a league house shot. good beginner ball for someone starting out an arsonal, or the roto-grip fans that got to have em all. better to pony up extra cash and get the new shift from storm if you want a good particle. or better yet, FURY!! so far that is the best ball i have ever laid hands on, oterwise, the SD73 classic is also one of the best i have seen in a long time

This is my second Roto Grip and definitely will not be my last. Got it from Ken Jessee in Huber Heights. Best ball driller in the Dayton OH area! This ball has more backend than some of my higher price equipment and hits just as hard. I can throw it down 5 with a little oil but I've found that swinging the ball from about 20-10/5 is the best and the ball recovers nicely. The ball is not squirty off of the oil. A winner from RG. Keep up the good work! The Roto Grip line is definitely a bang for your buck line. I am looking at the new Epic Odyssey next for my next purchase.

The Roto Grip Venus is the latest performance entry in the "value added" Planet Series. It joins the Planets: Mercury Reactive Pearl (rumored soon to be replaced by - Neptune; with the inverted Orbiter II block; in February), and Saturn Solid. All the current line of balls offer the same weight block (Orbiter) and basic coverstock (Sure Grip II). The series are fairly high RG (Radius of Gyration) balls, and offer a fairly aggressive coverstock with a low-medium flare potential. This line, for entry level, are some serious bowling balls. I traded my NIB Saturn model (which was a replacement for a cracked ball - that I bowled with for about half of a year; which Roto Grip gladly replaced), for the Venus model. The Saturn proved to be too much ball, I was looking for ball that would go a tad bit longer than the Saturn, yet be a ball that was a versatile ball, that could be used on house shots - The Planet Venus was that kind of ball. In mythology they say that Venus is the "goddess of

This ball is the picture of flexibility. Depending on how you lay it out it can be your best dry lane ball or your best medium-heavy ball. Its easy to read, easy to predict, hits like a truck, easy to control and it only seems to get better the more you throw it.. lol! I already have 2 and my 3rd is on order! (To prove that it actually happens to everyone, my 3rd is backordered). This ball is a must have for every arsenal. Great looking as it goes down the lane and on the shelf! This is my first strike ball. I've been using a straight ball for 2-3 months and chose this ball based on the reviews here. My previous high was a 187. I've had the Venus for 2 days, bowled about 4-5 games and my new high is a 203! I feel like it bowls extremely consistent and has major pin action. I can put as much or as little hook on the ball as I want. The ball is fingertip drilled with inserts. I'm anxious to get some more playing time in with it to hopefully push that score even higher! Update. After having this ball for about a mnth, I've managed to score a 241. My average is getting higher as well, but when you get in a rhythm with this thing, it can deliver the goods!<

I can play anywhere with this ball. The pin is under my ring finger, CG is kicked out 1.5" right of center span, and the balance hole is past my PAP line. This reaction gives me a powerful, yet controllable arc. All I have to do is move my index finger and pinky to change lines. The carry is phenomenal, the pins are kept low and swished around. This ball is smooth and predictable but still strong enough to get the pins out. Nice change of pace when your tired of fighting off dry boards. Particle shell gives it good traction while the low torque weight block keeps it under control. Use it for mediums and dry and you can't dislike it. If you get into too much slush the ball will not have enough strength to overcome the oil and slow down. Therefore it won't be turning the corner for the pocket any time soon. Not what this is made for. Great ball for the down and in people. It won't take off hooking in the dry spots and yet will handle a fair amount of conditioner if you have a good hand and want to play in a little more. It get great midlane reactin for a ball that plays with this much control. Doesn't hydroplane for 40 feet like some other "control" balls.

Ball specs – 15 lbs 4 oz, 2.68 top weight, 3.0 inch pin. The Venus was drilled 4.5” X 45 degrees with the pin above the ring finger about 3/4 of an inch. The cover was left in OOB condition. The pearl particle cover stock of the Venus surprised me in how well it read the midlane which had a fair amount of conditioner on it. It then continued with a strong arc and hit very well. (Was comparing the Venus and the Saturn, please see my Saturn review) In comparison with the Saturn, the Venus’s particle cover stock read the midlane stronger and was a little stronger and angular in the back end. The Venus is stronger and hits better than its entry-level placement would seem to indicate. The Venus, and the entire Roto-Grip entry level Planet line, provides the best performance for the price in the industry. John Brodersen <scrip

The Roto Grip entry level balls are by far the best on the market. If you go to their website you’ll notice under balls, the entry level is marked as “Entry Performance” As a beginner or advanced bowler you will find what your looking for here. The Saturn coverstock was amazing. Easily fine tuned for a variety of conditions, but best on the ugly ones. With a light load particle coverstock the Venus is a great compliment to the Saturn. Smoother and stronger than the Saturn. The Venus transitions into a great end over end roll. As a beginner you could build a 2 ball arsenal under 300.00! Tournament bowlers will benefit from great predictability of the Venus when the shot gets tough.

This ball provides the same heavy pin hit as the Saturn with some added length because of the polished cover. The light load particle is a definite plus. For tournament players on light to medium conditions this is the ball to have when the lanes start to go. Drill it with a 4" pin/pap and you should be able to play the outside line with no problem on the shorter (36' or less) patterns. The 1500 polished pearl cover will get it thru the fronts, the particle will enable the ball to read the midlane. On a league shot, if you have an extreme wet/dry, the Venus may be the ball to play the dry.<
