The RST X-3 is a big, hybrid asymmetrical bowling ball. I have not personally thrown the X-1 or X-2, but I am a huge fan of the new X-3. I drilled mine pin above the bridge and kicked the MB 2" right. In my YoutTube video, I compared it to the Rubicon -- another big asymm. While the Rubicon was a little earlier, the X-3 was a little more clean and had plenty of energy at the back end of the lanes. I've been rolling this ball for weeks now, and it has quickly become one of my favorites out of my bag. If you're looking for a new asymmetrical ball, then the X-3 is the one you're looking for.

The Roto Grip RST-X3 features the Micro Trak Hybrid Reactive cover, Roto Star Tour core, and comes at a 4-k fast finish. The X3 is the third ball in this line following the RST-X1 and RST-X2. Compared to both of those, the X3 feels like the strongest in the line and one of the strongest in the SPI catalog. The RST-X1 was strong but more of a controlled shape and the X2 is clean with more punch down lane. Now the X3 feels earlier and harder off the spot compared to those two balls. The shape is different as it gets the spot, goes left (like someone kicked it), and doesn't stop. The X3 forces me into the 4th/5th arrow on my house shot and sometimes it is just too much. I did get a chance to throw this ball on the challenge pattern "Great Wall of China/48ft" and it looked amazing. For me, this ball is going to require heavier oil and I think this ball will be good for speed dominant bowlers and lower revs players who need a ball that is going to hook. Tobias Myers #RotoGrip

The RST X3 is the strongest ball so far in that line. The X2 is still one of my favorites, so I'm excited to be able to throw the X3 right before I pull that one out. The RST X3 has an asymmetric core, wrapped with a hybrid cover stock. So far I have seen it start up pretty early, earlier than I thought, and be very strong in the mid lane. To me it is stronger than the Reality Check and Nova, but weaker than my Reality. So it will be one of the stronger balls in my arsenal. It has already shined up after a couple games, which is going to help me get it down lane easier with my slower ball speed. I will throw the RST X3 on heavier volumes and early in tournament blocks. Cover: MicroTrax™ Hybrid Core: Roto Star Tour Core (RST™ Core) Finish: 4K FAST RG: 2.55 (14lbs) Differential: 0.053 PSA: .016 ME: Right-Handed Tweener Speed: 12-13 mph Rev Rate: 315 PAP: 4 7/8 Right 3/8 Up Ball Layout: Pin under bridge 4 5/8 X 5 1/4 X 5 VLS The New RST X3 from Roto grip is the 3rd ball to feature the Roto Star Tour core. They matched up the RST core with a Hybrid MicroTrax cover finished at 4k fast which allows the ball to lane-shine very quickly, giving you a reaction similar to a polished ball. I tested the RST X3 on our 43 foot higher volume house shot. My first time out with it I tried it the 3rd game of league night. The fronts tend to go away very quickly here and it didn't take me long to see that this was the wrong time to bring the X3 Out of the bag. The X3 is very dynamic when it sees friction and the early friction caused its strong move to happen too soon. I next tested it on a much fresher version of the house pattern. I definitely see the X3 make a big move when you get it to the dry part of the lane. It was pretty handy dealing with carry-down because it would read and set so early it took the slow back-ends out of play much more. For a ball that gives you some mid-lane read it makes a pretty quick move in a small window. I feel like on a more medium pattern with cleaner backends the angles would probably need to be fairly steep and it does need some volume at the front of the pattern. Higher speed bowlers in particular will really be able to take advantage of it's dynamic motion.

RST X-3 – WWRD 8/19/2022 Roto Grip's new RST X-3 is a Hybrid Asymmetrical piece that is good for Medium-Heavy lane conditions. PAP is 5 5/16 R 1 3/16 Up. Drilled it with the Pin above the Bridge and the CG kicked out 1 ½" and MB 1" from the Thumb. Out of Box motion was good length with continuous backend motion through the pins. I haven't thrown the RST X-1 or X-2. I compared it to the Storm Infinite PhysiX on my YouTube Video. RST X-3 was 3-4 stronger all around than the Infinite PhysiX. RST X-3 is smooth on the backend compared to the 900 Global Reality Check. If you are looking for a strong piece this is the ball to get.

The RST-X3 continues a very successful line of balls from Roto Grip. Just like the RST-X1, this ball features a hybrid coverstock. Unlike the X1, however, this hybrid formula is 2 parts pearl, one part solid. This makes the RST-X3 fit in between the X1 and X2 for me. It's clean through the front and mids just like the X2, due to the pearl-heavy cover and the higher RG, but its smooth off the spot like the X1 because of the solid component in the cover. This unique clean and smooth combo gives me a hard-hitting ball with a big ball that doesn't over-read friction or dive off the back of the pattern. Go to your local pro shop and pick one up, it fits a really unique spot in the bag! -Chase Valenzuela

Ball Specs: Roto Grip RST X-3 Cover: 4k Fast MicroTrax™ Hybrid Reactive Weight Block: RST™ Core (Asymmetrical) Color: Yellow/Smoke/Grape Review: We had several customers overlook the original RST and the RST X-2 at first simply because of the name seeming too technical. We had a demo event a few weeks after the release and I think a lot of our league bowlers were surprised at how it stood out from the rest of the bowling balls at the event. Fast forward to the X-3 release and we were not surprised at the immediate excitement and all the talk amongst the bowling community. This ball is special and stands out with its unique color scheme. This ball fits perfectly into the RST line with the tour preferred shape and gives off vibes of the ever popular cell line. This will be a first out of back for most league shots and early tournament blocks. The latest iteration of the RST series is the X3 which provides more of a dig in the mid lane versus the X2. The X3 is 2 part pearl 1 part solid and is designed for medium to heavier oil conditions. Those looking for higher performance to combat heavier volume should find success with the X3. The X3 is the strongest of all the RST X line balls thus far and has been a staple in my bag since I had a chance to throw it. The nice part about this ball is the 2:1 ratio of pearl to solid as you have the opportunity to throw a stronger ball when the fronts might hook a little early which is a characteristic I see in a lot of the houses where I bowl. Due to the 2:1 nature I can still be in the stronger ball and see plenty of control, see the ball slow down enough down lane and still corner pretty hard. The X3 is suitable for all players of varying skill levels.

RST X-3 - Ball Specs Cover Stock: MicroTrax Hybrid Reactive Cover Stock Finish: 4K Fast Core: Roto Star Tour Core RG: 2.53 Differential: 0.053 Intermediate Diff: .016 Review The RST X-3 is the newest addition to Roto Grips HP4 line of balls. The RST X-3 has the MicroTrax Hybrid cover combined with the Roto Star Tour Core which creates a higher level torque down lane reaction. I tested the RST X-3 on a 44 feet typical house pattern, I was able to play track area and deep inside with great success. The RST X-3 is cleaner than the Gem, because of its 2.53 RG, which gives it more energy on the backend for max carrying power. This is a great ball for all levels of bowlers. The RST X-3 is the newest HP4 line ball ball from Roto Grip. It has the proven RST Core and a version of MircoTrax Hybrid cover. I drilled mine 5.5 x 5 x 5 and after throwing this ball for awhile I completely fell in love with the shape this ball gave me. With the higher RG on this ball and the Fast 4K this ball did get down lane pretty easily and really didn't lose any energy going through the pins. Also when I did miss in the oil with this ball it didn't push too far, it still dug in and give me plenty of giddy up through the pins. Compared to my Infinite Physix which is drilled very similar, the RST was a bit cleaner and more angular down lane. If you are looking for that perfect transition ball after the bigger hook monsters or just looking for a bigger ball to give you some length and still have some big back end motion, you're going to want to get this RST X-3.

The X-3 is the newest HP4 ball in Roto Grips line. This ball is a hybrid coverstock similar to the RST X-1 that was released a couple of years ago. This ball gives me good length along with a quick response off of friction. This ball is going to be a great step down from a Roto Grip Gem and a great step up from something like an RST X-2. Throwing this ball on a house shot what I found is that this ball would be somewhat clean through the fronts and gives a quick jump off the friction. This is going to be a ball that you will be able to get left and throw it at the spot. Compared to the Reality Check I found this ball to be a couple boards more but not as round as the Check. I did also polish this ball and gave me a better look on what I was throwing on. The polish allowed it to be about 2 feet longer and gave a more continuous shape. This is going to be a good ball for speed dominate players and also for people who like to hook the lane. Alex Thomes #StormNation #StrikingWorldwide #SquadRG #Driven2Bowl

RST X-3 Coverstock: Micro Trax Hybrid Reactive WeightBlock: Asymmetrical Finish: 4K Fast Color: Yellow/smoke/grape Review: Roto Grip continues to produce RST bowling balls that have proven they can keep up with everything else in the line. This ball on its own stands out just because of the color but once you throw it a couple times you will quickly fall in love with the shape that this ball makes. After throwing it and changing the finish a little I have concluded that this ball is a great step down from my Gem. I get a similar shape with better backend motion once the carry down starts to happen. I found this ball to be great first out of my bag on the league shot during out second shift leagues. Roto Grips newest high performance bowling ball is the brand new RST X3! This RST features the MicroTrax Hybrid Coverstock wrapped around the RST Core (Roto Star Tour Core) My RST X3 is drilled pin over my bridge with the mass bias by my thumb! This RST with it being a hybrid is a smoother than the RST X2 but more downlane than the original RST X1! Sometimes the X1 is to early and the X2 is to quick downlane this is where the new X3 will come into play and fit that gap amazing! Definitely will be in my bag for the heavier lane conditions! Layout: 30 x 4.5 x 30 Surface: 1000 Grit Abralon The new RST X3 has been great for me in the first week having the ball. Sport shot league and a PBA Regional has really given me great ball reactions to help me score well. I put it to 1000 grit abralon to give me a ball for the fresh that is cleaner then the Reality but can still dig into the midlane when there is more volume. Even though the RST X3 is a hybrid with two parts pearl, it does not act like a pearl type hybrid at all. Even at the box finish, the X3 hooks a lot sooner then the X2 and is more down lane then the X1. At the 1000 grit finish, it would be best used on heavier oil and longer oil patterns. Test Pattern: PBA Don Carter Pattern At 1000 grit abralon surface, I saw a lot of front hook and strong midlane read while still continuing well down lane. What I like the most about it, is how consistent the ball reaction is. Whether I am playing up the lane on the fresh or more left to right, I saw the same continuation which allowed me to stay using the ball for multiple games which for me is very tough for a 1000 grit ball. As the lanes broke down, I was able to play 4th arrow with ease as long as I projected the ball to the 2nd arrow. Throwing this ball up the lane wants to hook pretty soon which will make it a great fresh ball if you are in the market. House Pattern Test: At the 4k fast finish surface, this ball should be really good on the fresh as well as the first transition for most house patterns and your style. If the X3 is too strong for the fresh, definitely bring the ball to a 2000 grit surface and then use Storm reacta shine to give you a more traditional skid/flip reaction. I would use your favorite ball drilling for the best results! Adam Chase Storm Staff
