The Roto Grip MVP original was good ball, but was a little early for me. So when the MVP Pearl came out it was the perfect compliment to the MVP. From what I've seen so far from the MVP Pearl, its going to be "The Ball" to have in the RG line. From its great looking color scheme and hard arcing backend motion. I drilled mine pin down with 5 inch pin no hole. You still get the similar motion as the MVP but the pearl likes friction. It is a high response ball. But its not the skid flip motion. This ball is hard to throw through your breakpoint. The MVP Pearl is must have in anyone's arsenal! Brian Watson Pro Shop Staff PAP - 5 up 1 1/8 SPeed - 16 RPM - 400 Tilt - 17

I had a lot of success with the original MVP over the summer and when they announced the MVP Pearl, I was very excited. I drilled mine 5.5 x 4 x 5 and I actually broke the cover 2000 grit. This ball revs up strong on the mid-lane and gives me a similar reaction that my Winner Solid but the Winner was a lot cleaner and stonger on the back end. League bowlers will love the MVP Pearl all around and tournament bowlers will love this ball later in blocks because it is not as long as other pearl balls.

The new MVP Pearl from Roto Grip might have the strongest fun-per-dollar ratio on the market today. It's got a pearlized version of the MVP cover (VTC-P19 at 1500/polish) and the same modified Wrecker core (Neutron NXT at 2.55 RG and 0.040 differential in 15#). The shape feels EXTREMELY familiar to the MVP, but where it creates the gap is the extra length and downlane pop provided by the cleaner coverstock variant. It's easy enough through the fronts that it's very throwable once the lanes get a bit fried and you need a strong hockey-stick type motion, but the heavy-rolling shape through the pins means that it's equally at home on lower-volume fresh conditions. Finding an excuse to use this one is pretty easy - go get one and see for yourself!

The first MVP was very quick for me. I needed lots of friction to the right and it seemed as if it was scared of the puddle on house conditions. It is a good ball, it just didn't match up with my game. With this in mind, I drilled the MVP Pearl stronger to try to control that downlane reaction. The results were exactly as I wanted, I now have a weaker pearl symmetrical that doesn't boomerang off the end of the pattern. Boomerang shapes are unstable and uncontrollable. With the stronger drilling, the MVP Pearl had good length but was much smoother off the downlane friction. This is my new go to ball for the dry house conditions and the burn in tournament competition. For the players who are speed challenged or rev dominant, I think this ball will play to your benefit the most. It will give you easy length with great pin carry. Players who are rev challenged or speed dominant, if you drill this ball on the stronger side, it will offer similar shape to an Idol Pearl.

The newest iteration of the MVP series, the MVP pearl will provide more length and angle versus the original hybrid MVP. Featuring the new VTC-P19 coverstock the pearl will float easier down lane than the original MVP. This will be a great selection for when the lanes really see a lot of play up front and a clean weaker core/cover is required. This will be a great step down from the original MVP hybrid or when a really clean pearl is needed late in a block to reserve energy and shape the mid lane properly without sacrificing energy down lane. The newest additional coming to the HP2 line is the MVP Pearl. As it states in the name, the MVP Pearl is the pearlized version of the MVP. Same core as featured in the original MVP, but wrapped with a pearl coverstock (VTC-P19). The MVP is designed to be a "get in a wheel it" kind of ball in the Roto Grip line. The original MVP is a hybrid and what I noticed is that at times, it was too strong for me in certain parts of the lane. The original MVP is phenomenal for me on medium patterns, but when I get to a certain point moving inside, I noticed that it started to lose its energy unless there was a lot of oil on the lane. The new MVP Pearl allows me to get just as far left, if not more, and go absolutely sideways through the pins. Since the ball is going to retain more energy because of the pearl coverstock, it's going to give me the motion I am looking for from deep inside. I'm excited for you guys to get your hands on one of these! Nate Garcia PBA Regional Champion

Ball Specs: Roto Grip MVP Pearl 1500 Polished VTC-P19™ Pearl Reactive Weight Block Neutron NXT™ Core (Symmetrical) Color Royal/Golden/White Review: We were so happy to see them continue the MVP line. This ball follows suit as a ball that fits in a variety of bags, no matter the level of talent. It's always nice to see seasoned veterans throwing this rock. This ball really allows someone who typically swings it out to move right and play down and in. We feel this ball has the perfect amount of length down lane without that overpowering snap effect some balls today have. The continuation and hitting power is legit! Don't feel like you can't add this ball as your "go to" because of it being in the HP2 lineup... this ball brings some serious heat and is a real MVP in our books! The MVP Pearl features the Neutron NXT core, which was inspired by the original Neutron core found in the Wrecker series, and is also featured in the MVP. The MVP Pearl shares a lot in common with the MVP, and is really just a cleaner and sharper version of it. It has the same heavy rolling chuggy feel but still creates a lot of pop down lane. While it's heavy rolling, it's not super quick revving due to the medium to high RG and medium differential, so it helps the ball slow down and manage the midlane without digging in too quickly. This should create a lot of lane control and ball motion for lower rev rates, and should also be good on burn when you're forced left. It will create a rollier motion to help the ball stabilize while clearing the fronts and giving you a sharp and decisive move from deeper angles when ball reaction can get tricky.

The Roto Grip MVP Pearl utilizes the Neutron NXT Core and VTC-P19 pearl cover. The MVP Pearl is cleaner through the front part of lane in comparison to the original MVP. The MVP Pearl will be a great option to ball down to from the Idol Pearl when it starts to hook too soon and a step up from the Hustle AU.
