When information was released about the Haywire I was really excited to get my hands on this new release since it was a Hyper Cell cover and Disturbed weight block. Well this ball did not disappoint in any way as it rolled exactly how I thought it would. It picked up very well in the midlane yet very continuous because of the weight block. I compared this to my original Disturbed and found it to be much stronger than the original Disturbed. I put my favorite layout of 4 ½ pin to pap distance with a 1 inch kick from my center grip and thought that the ball rolled very well. I used many different releases and played multiple parts of the lanes with this ball during practices and tournaments finding success with this ball in many different parts of the lane. It is very versatile on the lanes and you can see that by watching anyone throw it on the lanes. None of my teammates at Wichita State are disappointed with this ball as almost all of them have one in their bag. I rate this ball as a 9/ 10 for as I really enjoy throwing it but nothing can compare to what my Disturbed and Hyper Cell do. Every right-hander should have this ball in their bag especially as a 2 ball because it seems to be an ideal ball once the lanes open up. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8fhUNK86DSU

The Haywire is a hooking machine!! It is probably the most aggressive symmetrical bowling ball I have ever thrown. I am so glad that another ball came out with the Disturbed core and the Hyper Cell cover. Who would have though those two features would be on the same ball!! I knew this one would be a favorite of mine as soon as I heard about that combination. The Haywire is a great addition to the HP3 line to go alongside the Unhinged and now Critical. I was able to throw the Haywire at the Greater Tulsa Open team even last month. For us, the lanes got very wet/dry in a hurry. The Haywire allowed me to play deep in the oil and still gave me the motion I needed down lane to kick out the corners. Granted, I had to keep the ball straighter through the heads because if it leaked right, it would hook instantly. That is my only concern with the Haywire, Other than that, I have never been able to get inside and still have the recovery with any other solid cover until now. The Haywire is a must have!!

Intoroducing newest ball to the hp3 line the haywire.Roto grip has done a great job by building this ball and adding it to there line up,hands down this ball will be fore sure a ball of the year no problem in my eyes.Everyone that ive drilled this ball for has nothing bad to say about it.Thing that i like most off about this ball is the cover stock and the box finish on this ball, the box finish seems to work well for everyone that ive seen throw this ball, has alot of roll tons of mid lane with some really good backend motion.Ball really looks to me asylum and disturb slamed togther, and those were to great balls, with the disturb core this balls rolls like a ball ive never seen before in there line up that what make it unique in my eyes.So to all you bowlers out there dont wait drill this beast of a ball up and start seeing a reaction in you bag like no other, great job thumbs up to this build.

The Haywire is Roto Grips newest HP3 Line release. The ball is factory finished at 2000. The ball is wrapped by the 80H Microbite coverstock which is found on Roto Grips Hyper Cell. The core is the Middle Roll 70 which is found in the Disturbed. This combination makes the Haywire a Hook Monster. I drilled my Haywire with a 60x5x65 layout. I wanted a pin down layout to help get the ball roll a bit earlier and read the midlane sooner for heavier oil pattern. The combination of ball and my layout is exactly what I was looking for. The ball rolls great in the mid lane and is still very strong in the backend creating a lot of room for error. I can miss right and have the ball hold and as well as miss right and be confident that the ball will recover. I would recommend this ball for anyone looking for a strong ball for a great price. This ball will be great for the lower rev players who need a little extra ball strength to create some hook. This ball will also be great for more experienced bowlers looking for a ball for longer oil patterns and heavier volume patterns.

The new Haywire by RotoGrip combines the Hyper Cell shell and the Disturbed Weight block. This combination creates a devastating yet versatile ball motion. The Haywire has more length than the Hyper Cell but more overall ball motion than the Disturb. That just means that the Haywire will stay in your hands longer because you can keep moving left and the still get around the corner. The drilling that I used in my Haywire was pin over my ring finger with no hole. My characteristic are: PAP 5 ½ over and 1 up, ball speed about 16 mph and my release is slightly up the side of the ball. I compared the Haywire to the disturbed and Hyper Cell. What I noticed right off the bat was the backend motion was noticeably more than the other two balls. The Hyper Cell rolled great on the tighter patterns until I had to move left and go around the carry down. The Hyper Cell was just too early and not enough, the Haywire was able to get down lane and gave me a strong backend motion. The Haywire compared to the disturbed would be described as the Disturbed on Steroids. More overall ball motion but still very readable, the best of two worlds. The Haywire will be the first ball that I use if I am bowling on medium or even long patterns because it is that VERSATILE.

The Haywire is the most recent release in the HP3 line from Roto Grip. This ball uses the same great middle roll 70 core that was previously found in the Deranged, Asylum, and Disturbed, but is wrapped with the 80H Microbite cover that is on the Hyper Cell. The numbers on the Haywire are Rg of 2.50, and a differential of 0.043 in 15lb balls. The Haywire has a guts, grit & grime rating of 70/80/H. This translates into a hook potential of 70, a cover strength of 80, and H for heavy oil. The Haywire has an unusual color combination of Navy, Peach, and Sky Blue. Everyone will definitely know when they see the Haywire roll down the lane! I drilled my Haywire aggressively because I needed a ball in my bag to compliment my Marvel S which is also drilled very strong. I went with a 3 ? x 3 ½ x 2 ¼ layout. I placed an extra hole on my VAL about 2” down from my PAP(drawing a line from grip center through the CG, onto the VAL). This placement is roughly a P2, for those that use that system. The Haywire has given me exactly what I was looking for, a slightly cleaner, more angular Marvel S. I have used my Haywire on many different medium-heavy, and heavy oil patterns. The Haywire was the ball I used to propel my standings from 16th to as high as leading the tournament averaging 221 through match play on a very difficult 41 foot World Championship pattern, at the PBA Xtraframe Gene Carter Pro Shop Classic, in Middletown Delaware, (where I would eventually qualify second for the show, and loose with a 242 game in that stepladder finals). The Haywire performed so well for me, because it didn’t bog down in the front of the lane, while not storing up too much energy, to be uncontrollable through the backend of the lane. The Haywire slowed down at the perfect time, to give me a wide pocket. The Haywire shines on those medium-heavy to heavy oil conditions (with surface adjustments). I wouldn’t recommend the Haywire for dry conditions as there’s a plethora of other options for those conditions. In closing, the Haywire will be a great ball on medium-heavy to heavy oil for most bowlers. Stop by your local pro shop, and drill a Haywire today. Own It!

I drilled this ball with the intention that I would throw it only on longer sport patterns. I used a 4.5" x 4.5" layout and the ball does exactly what I expected, hooks. This ball rolls out very quick on any type of friction making it very shot sensitive. I recently tried to throw this ball on WTBA Paris(47') and found that the volume was not high enough on this pattern for this layout and ball. Even when I tried to shine the surface to store more energy the ball would try to roll out. When I find enough oil this ball will finish harder than anything I have thrown to date through the oil. I have an Asylum which has the same core and weaker cover and the two compliment each other well. The Haywire is only in my tournament bag because it is entirely too much ball for me on house patterns. If you have a lower rev rate or higher speed than this ball is a safe bet. Layout: 75 x 4.5 x 35 - box finish. I drilled up the Haywire to give me something stronger along the lines of my Optimus Solid. I polished the Optimus Solid so I needed some more friction up front if the lanes got tighter. This ball is awesome on slicker lane patterns. It grabs pretty well and is still pretty continuous in the back. I have noticed that the moment I start pinging tens to either make a 4 and 2 move left or ball down. The Haywire is very strong and will need oil upfront to keep it from burning energy too early.

I tested the Haywire on my 39-foot house shot as well as tournament conditions. I was able to use this ball equally as well under both conditions. The 2000 the box finish matched up perfectly for these conditions. My Haywire is drilled with the pin below the fingers with the CG kicked out toward the PAP. This ball was clean through the front end and produced about 4-6 inches of flare. The ball rolled strong off my hand and in the mid-lane the ball revved up nicely and made a solid, strong move to the pocket. This ball was devastating as it continued to drive through the pin deck (what I have come to expect from Roto Grip). The Haywire has a very predictable reaction, and with the 2.50 RG and .043 differential makes it a great addition for the lower rev medium speed league player. As the lanes transition, I could simply move left, play a little deeper and continue to use this ball. I found this ball to be a couple boards weaker than the Hysteria. The hybrid cover of the Haywire allows the ball to read the fresh oil nicely and make a nice predictable move off the dry area. What I enjoyed the most about this ball is the predictability of the cover. It produced a nice steady hook to the pocket. I was getting 4-6 inches of flair and bouncing the ball off the dry all night. The Haywire is a great ball for the league or tournament. This ball will make a nice addition to anyone’s arsenal. Roto Grip Haywire Ball Review by PJ Haggerty The newest addition to the HP3 line is the Haywire and has become a fast favorite of mine. This ball fits right in the middle of my bag as a great benchmark piece. It is one of the stronger benchmark balls I’ve drilled and have been able to use it on several different patterns and surfaces. I’ve drilled two of them so far. The first one I drilled may have been drilled a bit too strong, but it still serves a purpose. The layout is as follows: 4 x 4 with a 63/64 hole on my axis. The purpose for this layout was to use it on heavier volume & flatter patterns. Drilling the Haywire this strong definitely makes the ball read the lane early, and slows down the response time a lot. I’ve used this ball when the lanes are tough and I’m not looking for a ton of motion down lane. The second Haywire is drilled as follows: 5 ½ x 4 ¾ with a 27/32 hole two inches below my axis. This one also has some shine on it. With a weaker drilling, a polished surface, and a hole below my axis, this one creates more length and a quicker response time. I haven’t been able to use it a ton on shorter patterns. I’m extremely confident this is a great ball when there is a good amount of volume on the lane. The Haywire provides a strong, forward motion that compliments a lot of the more angular pieces very nicely. Another great addition to the Roto Grip line! #OwnIt

I drilled the Haywire for medium length and volume patterns, and was hoping that it would be versatile enough to use on our house patterns. Quite happy to say that it is quite good on the house as well as sport patterns. I’ve used the Haywire quite a bit on the house patterns around here and really like the shape I get at the breakpoint. I am going to say that this is probably the strongest pin-up ball I currently have in my bags. It gets through the fronts with ease, even when they start to break down and it recovers with a big move at the end of the pattern. After putting a few games on it, I really wish that I had drilled it with pin-down sums, but I really can’t complain. This ball is just fun to roll. My normal roll is pretty much up the back of the ball and this ball still clears the fronts really well, but when it comes time to make small adjustments in hand position or release, it accommodates these adjustments with no issue. I am looking forward to getting many more games on the Haywire and can’t foresee any reason why this ball doesn’t stay in my bag for a long time. The Haywire is a very special release from Roto. This can be a great ball for anyone.

Weight: 14 lbs. Pin Length: 3 ” Drilling: 4 X 3 3/4 X 2 Pattern Length: 39 ft. & 40 ft. Pattern Volume: Medium and Light Pattern Type: THS Right Handed The HAYWIRE has the symmetrical Middle Roll 70 weight block from the popular HP3 line, wrapped with the proven 80H Microbite Solid reactive cover stock. The box finish is 2000 grit, but as always, can be polished or changed to suit a wide variety of lane conditions. I have used the HAYWIRE on a 39 ft. light volume house pattern, and a 40 ft. medium volume house pattern. For the 39 ft. light volume THS, I tried the HAYWIRE at the 2000 grit box finish, but had better success changing the surface to 4000 grit and adding a bit of polish. This allowed me to get the ball through the heads easily and save plenty of energy for the back end. I was able to move in with it, but found that by game 3, I struggled a bit with corner pins. At this time, the UNHINGED became my “go to” ball. Although the HAYWIRE has the same Middle Roll 70 core as the DISTURBED, I find the HAYWIRE to have more overall hook than I anticipated. On the medium volume 40 ft. pattern, the HAYWIRE performed best for me at the 2000 grit box finish. As the pattern broke down, I was able to move further in without losing my carry. It is more aggressive coming off the pattern than I originally thought. If you are looking to possibly replace the DISTURBED in your arsenal, the HAYWIRE may be just what you’re looking for. The HAYWIRE is very versatile with different surface changes, and even works well with a little polish for drier lanes. Carol Teel Roto Grip Amateur Staff Member

Haywire review by staffer Tony Marino The Roto Grip Haywire is the combination of the Middle Roll 70 (MR70) core, featured in the Disturbed line, and combines it with the strong 80H Micro Bite solid coverstock. I have average to above average ball speed (~17MPH) which tends to balance out my rev rate. I drilled my Haywire like my favorite IQ Tour with the pin above the middle finger (6.25”) with the CG kicked out and small P3 weight hole. I have thrown the Haywire on house patterns, as well as a multiple flatter Kegel oil pattern. The first thing I noticed about this ball was the midlane shape. Even though the Haywire uses the strongest cover in any of the HP lines, it does not read too early. I was surprised how versatile this ball really is. The MR70 core is a perfect balance of powerful midlane hook and predictable length. I have already had some great success on some longer, heavier volume patterns. I recently won a tournament on the Kegel 45’ 2008 Istanbul Open oil pattern. The Haywire hooked back from an absurd part of the lane that gave me a huge advantage. If you bowl in a center that puts what seems to be the standard puddle in the middle this ball has the potential to strike a ton! Because of my speed and roll, I tend to use a lot of solid covers, and the Haywire gives me the entry angle and motion in the mids at fits very well in my bag. If you have high ball speed, don’t generate much shape downlane or just have a hard time getting a ball to make a move in heavier oil, I would highly recommend the Haywire. The new RG in the HP3 Line is the Haywire. RG took the successful Disturbed core (Middle Roll 70 and wrapped it with the Hyper Cell Coverstock (80H Microbite). This combination has created a very strong continuous motion. The Color scheme has great shelf appeal. I drilled mine with my favorite drilling 5 x 4 x 2 3/4 pin up. This ball has amazing backend reaction and recovery. It just doesn't quit on the backend, even when you think you missed too far right the Haywire comes back. I have used it on sport and house patterns. On sport I added a little surface it to blend out and tame down the backend motion. For house I shine it up and can open up the lane with this ball. Its the disturbed motion on steroids. This ball is going to be very popular with all bowling styles and this is going to be RG's home run! The newest addition to the RotoGrip HP3 line is the Haywire. The Haywire combines the Hyper Cell cover stock (80H Microbite) with the disturb weight block (Middle Roll 70). This awesome combination leads to a strong continuous hooking bowling ball. The colors are eye catching and the reaction on the lanes is jaw dropping! I drilled my Haywire with pin over the fingers and the cg kicked out about 2 inches from my center line with a medium size hole at 6 inches. For the dual angle people, the coordinates are 45 X 5 ½ X 45. My coordinates are PAP 5 5/8 over and up ¾, Rev Rate around 300, more up the back release and my ball speed is around 15mph. I like to go straighter if possible. I was able to throw the Haywire on various patterns and against a wide range of bowling balls. The first pattern that I threw the Haywire on was a basic House Pattern. The Haywire was way too strong for the dry house pattern that I bowl on but I kept moving left. The Haywire did not lose too much energy compared to a Hyper Cell or Crux. The Middle Roll Core adds versatility to the Haywire. If I was going to only bowl on house patterns or dries lane conditions, a surface change and or some polish would be a viable option for the Haywire. Unless you like to stand left and pitch it right then the Haywire is already setup for you! The next pattern was Paris (47 Feet) which is a longer pattern compared to the house pattern (38 Feet) and has more volume. What I noticed with the Haywire is the motion at the break point was aggressively controlled but super strong and the backend was continuous. The Haywire was strong enough to make the turn if I missed in but was readable enough if I missed right. Again the Haywire out preformed the Hyper Cell and the Disturb with its versatility and overall ball motion. I only touched on two patterns but the RotoGrip Haywire was a gamer on the medium through long patterns. The RotoGrip Haywire is a versatile bowling ball that will stay in my bag! Bowler: Keven Williams Speed: 18mph Rev Rate: 425rpm Left handed Reviewed on a Typical House Shot Pattern Medium-High Volume The new Roto Grip Haywire is one of the strongest balls on the market today! The main problem I had with the hyper cell was it was too strong in the fronts, and never kept a roll down lane. Even though it is an earlier rolling ball, it still continuous its strong roll down lane too. This ball is great for sport conditions and heavy oil. Best ball for its price point so you can’t go wrong with a Roto Grip Haywire.

Ball: Haywire Layout: 60 x 4 x 40 Surface: box condition Test patterns: 41ft THS and 37ft sport pattern Outcome: Oh WOW!!! Largest movement in the backend of the lane I ever seen. I was really surprise of the motion, maybe the colors have a part in it, but at first I could not stay off the head pin playing the same part of the lane I was with the Menace. BIG step right and look further down the lane helped me get the reaction and carry I wanted and needed. Oh my GOSH this ball is going to be the Ball of the Year… This ball was not affected by the ice/fire oil patterns I tested on as much as the Menace was. The ball push thru the “flood” and still drove thru the pins like a fully loaded truck and trailer, I have not seen pin mix like that ever, the new pins flew around like toothpicks. Like I said this will be the Ball of the Year, hands down…

The new Haywire by Roto Grip is an absolute must in any bowlers bag! For league bowlers, this will be the perfect ball that allows lower/mid rev players to open up the lane and spray pins around like the crankers. The proven Middle Roll 70 core revs up easily and provide such an effortless move towards the pocket while still saving all the devastating energy needed destroy the rack. Wrap that legendary core with the 80H Microbite cover, one of the best coverstocks that we've seen in recent years, and you've got unmatched traction in the oil that reacts great to surface changes and a variety of lane surfaces. This ball can handle all the medium-heavy oil that you can throw at it. It could very easily become ball of the year and should find its way into every bowlers arsenal.

(Disturbed, Deranged, Asylum). In short this ball is has a Disturbed core with the Hyper Cell cover. It’s Roto Grip’s version of the Marvel S but better, IMO, because it doesn’t rev up as fast and burn up trying to turn the corner. This ball is a HOOK MONSTER on oil. The roll is great and the reaction is unbelievable for the price point.
