The Dare Devil is a good long/strong ball for late shift or tournament burn. I like the shape I get down lane, when everything else seems to be a bit strong. It is sharp enough to get back where a ball up would burn up. It clears the fronts with ease and corners with no problems. The cover is a bit stronger than I had anticipated, so it can stand up a bit quickly if the middles are jumping. I've found that I can give it just a bit more room and still get it back when this happens. The Dare Devil definitely has its place in my bag for the upcoming tournament season.

The Daredevil is the latest ball from Roto Grip in the HP3 line. It's a big backend ball that revs very strongly, but doesn't hook nearly as early as you'd expect it to, it gets down the lane very easily. It has a very hard arc on the backend, it's strong, but not jumpy off the friction. For me it's best from angle after transition forces you inside. It revs strongly enough to keep it stable in the midlane without hooking early, and the transition to the friction is smooth enough that it doesn't dive or cut through the pins, it goes through them properly and keeps them low. This is a ball that allows you to really get a handful at the bottom without it grabbing early and without it being too strong through the pins, but still rolls heavy enough to be consistent from deeper angles. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rVxQwcl7EXc

The DareDevil is a nice addition to the HP3 line. My customers love the color, the price and the performance. For me, it was smoother than I originally expected it to be. I drill most of my symmetric equipment using a pin above/below basic layout depending on the intent of the ball. I went pin above with my DareDevil and saw a nice shape that is a bit uncommon for a pearl cover ball. I'm slightly speed dominant with lower tilt, so my pearl stuff can be a bit unforgiving on certain patterns. The DarDevil was a refreshing site to see with easy length and controllable down lane motion. I highly recommend this ball to anyone with some hand, slower ball speed or a player trying to get the pearl length with a solid type look on the back. Great ball, go grab one today! #rotogrip #SquadRG #ownit

The Dare Devil is the latest pearl covered bowling ball released in the HP3 line from Roto Grip. THe Dare Devil has a new core shape called Madcap core which produces an RG of 2.48 and a differential of 0.041 in 15 lb balls. The Amped cover with a Teal/white/black color combination looks great sitting on the ball rack, and rolling through the pocket! I drilled my Dare Devil using a 4 ¾ x 5 ¼ x 2 ½ layout during the PBA Fall swing in Las Vegas. The first I used it was for the team challenge event, playing outside going up about 7-8 on a 42 foot pattern that played somewhat tight. The Dare Devil rolled excellent and gave me an unprecedented strike percentage when I made great quality shots, enough so, that fellow teammate Liz Kuhlkin commented " I think you've struck every time you've thrown that ball!" Truth be told, if I could've executed slightly better that day, I would've definitely been able to help my team out more, and push us up higher in the standings as I could not of had any better ball reaction. I have since used my Dare Devil on a variety of different patterns from high scoring to low scoring. The Dare Devil is a ball that I can play out when they are tighter, and chase in as the pattern breaks down. The Dare Devil was also a key factor in winning a doubles tournament with my good buddy Jeremy Gilbert. The best way I can describe my Dare Devil is it is the best combination of an Optimus and Marvel Pearl. The Dare Devil is clean and easy through the heads just like my Optimus, but has the rounded off slightly smoother and continuous down-lane motion like the Marvel Pearl. Comparing the Dare Devil to the Deranged, the Dare Devil reads the lane a little earlier and also has a touch more continuation, compared to the hook set motion of my pin over ring Deranged. The Dare Devil not only rolls great, but looks great as well. I am always honest with my reviews, and if I have a better ball already in the bag, I will be honest and say it. With that said, it also goes for when I really like a ball, I'm being honest about it. The Dare Devil is a really great ball for me, and I believe it will be a great ball for many of you. Thank you for reading my review of the Roto Grip Dare Devil. Own It!

I have found this ball very useful on house patterns and end of sport conditions where I am able to move left and begin to open up my angles. This ball will get clean through the front and have a nice angular motion down lane at the break point. This ball is a must for house and sport bowlers!

Dare Devil What a great release in the HP3 line. This is going to be my favorite ball ever....I have thrown this ball on just about all patterns. I have put more polish on it for dryer patterns and have dulled it down on some heavier patterns. On the dryer patterns, I never had any problem getting the Dare Devil down the lane, and with the backend that this ball has the amount of miss room I had was ridiculous. This will be my American Express Card, never leave home without a Dare Devil or three in my bag. For me I feel that this ball and I can pretty much match up to most any lane condition. The ease the Dare Devil gets down the lane, the read in the mid lane and the strong continuation through the pins are absolutely awesome. Can't wait until the solid Dare Devil Trick comes out. This one-two Punch is sure to knock out the competition. Excellent job Roto Grip.

After the Marvel Pearl was discontinued, the Dare Devil is the closest ball to it. I've had a ton of success with the Dare Devil so far and it goes everywhere with me. Being the newest addition to the HP3 line with an RG of 2.48 and a differential of .041, the Dare Devil wants to read the lane early and have a medium/higher response time down lane because of the pearl cover. I've drilled two Dare Devil's so far. The one I've used the most is mapped out as: 4 ½ x 3 with a hole under my axis. Because I wanted to slow the response time down even more, I hit the surface with 1000 and now that it has some lane oil in it, it reads the lane great on all types of surfaces. I've been able to use this on medium/heavier volume patterns as well as house patterns. The other one I drilled is mapped out as 5 x 4 with a really tall pin above my ring finger. The CG is just under my ring, so I had to drill the fingers extremely deep to keep it legal. My goal drilling it this way was to create more length with a quicker response time, but not as quick as a HyRoad or Wreck-Em because the RG is still much lower than both of those. I did knock the surface down on this one too, I used a 3000 pad by hand. This still kept the clean and predictable shape I wanted. If you need a great benchmark ball that can be used on multiple conditions, drill a Dare Devil! #OwnIt

Likes: Strong reaction, great hitting power, color combination Dislikes: none The Roto Grip Dare Devil is Roto Grips newest HP3 line release. The Dare Devil contains the Madcap core. The balls is covered with the Amped Coverstock and is finished at 1500 grit polished. I drilled my Dare Devil with the pin above my ring finger with the CG kicked out to the right of my pin with a weight hole directly on my axis. I wanted medium to medium strong reaction with a smooth backend. I wanted a ball that was different from what I already had. This is a new layout for me as well. The ball reads the mid lane real well and has a strong yet controllable reaction in the backend. For me Dare Devil is a bit stronger than the Roto Grip Hywire. But I think they are quite similar in motion. This ball has worked great for me on the 2012 US Open pattern as well as house shots ect. I can't wait to throw it in my first tournament. I recommend this ball for a bowler who is looking for a strong mid priced ball. This ball packs a lot of punch for the middle range. The polished cover along with the pearl coverstock gives the ball plenty of length and snap in the backend. The Dare Devil could be used as a bench mark ball or a ball that is used on medium oiled sport patterns when you need some pop in the back.

The Dare Devil is the November addition to the HP3 Line for RotoGrip. The Dare Devil has the amped Pearl Reactive Coverstock with the new Madcap Core. This combination provides generous length and a predictable but fierce backend motion. The layout I used was pin in the grip with cg kicked out about 45 degrees with a balance hole down. I went with layout because the Dare Devil is a very versatile bowling ball. The backend motion did not suffer from this lay out and the predictable mid lane aggressiveness is unbelievable. The Dare Devil gives you the skid and flip motion that was missing in the HP3 line. The HyWire and Haywire are aggressive early and smooth down lane compared to the Dare Devil. To get around the corner hook just drill a Dare Devil and the let the Strikes Fly! #OwnIt

I drilled my Daredevil up with a 65* x 5 x 35* layout. I intend to add a motion hole once I have some time to throw the ball exclusively to mark it out. I left it in box condition. The Daredevil is something that Roto Grip has needed for awhile, a low RG pearl. I can use my Daredevil on most house shots even to start out. I did have to lightly touch the surface with a 3000 pad to smooth out some of the over/under I was getting with factory shine. Drill one of these up to get you that medium condition rolly pearl ball in your arsenal.

The Dare Devil is not only a new ball, but a whole new shape for Roto Grip. The combination or the Madcap Core and the Amped Pearl cover creates the most backend shape I have ever seen from a Roto Grip ball. The Madcap Core has a very low RG value, which means it will rev up quickly, but the Amped core is very slow response cover. These two combine and you get a motion unlike any Roto Grip ball in your bag. I drilled my Dare Devil with a 4-inch pin, 3.5 inches off my VAL and no weight hole. You can see the core rev quickly like an asymmetrical ball, but once it sees friction it makes a very hard and sharp turn. I have used my Dare Devil on the house shot at my center as well as 2 flatter medium patterns. On the house shot, I had to actually take some of the polish off of the ball because it was giving me some over/under. I attribute that to my slight speed dominance as well as the very high volume of oil in the middle of the lane. The flatter medium patterns were a completely different story though. I was able, forced almost; to get way in and the Dare Devil hooked circles around my Hywire. I would be careful not to drill this ball with too short of a pin-pap distance. This core revs very quickly and you might lose a lot of backend motion with too strong of pin placements. To watch my ball motion video, please use this link below... https://youtu.be/96drj-8YQmU

Bowler: Keven Williams Hand: Left Handed Rev Rate: 450 RPM Speed: 18-19 MPH Location: Sunshine Lanes, Springfield MO Pattern: High Volume Typical House Shot Layout: Pin over ring finger, CG kicked with a weight hole The Roto Grip Daredevil is exactly what they were missing in the lineup, a low rg pearl ball. The pearl cover gets the ball through the fronts, but the strong low RG core gets the ball into a strong midlane roll with continuous backend. I am a big fan of lower rg bowling balls like the Haywire and Hywire because they are smoother rolling and more predictable. At times they roll too early and I cant get a ball through the fronts. The daredevil solves that problem. The Dare Devil is a must have for fans of the Haywire, HyWire who want a similar motion, but just further down the lane.

RotoGrip's HP 3 line has a new addition... The Daredevil. The Daredevil features the Madcap core and the pearl Amped coverstock. This combination allows the Daredevil to glide through the front part of the lane and unleashes a powerful backend motion that ravages the pins. The layout that I used on my Daredevil is pin over the fingers with the CG kicked out with extra hole on my axis. My coordinates are 5 5/8 over and ¾ up for my axis point, the rev rate is around 300, ball speed medium (approx. 15mph) and I am right handed. I was able to throw the Daredevil on some short patterns and a house pattern. Along with the Daredevil I threw the HyWire and my favorite pearl the Sky Rocket. What I noticed was the length the Daredevil created was unbelievable compared to the Sky Rocket on all the patterns. The length was unforgiving early but later on as the house pattern broke down and the carry down formed the Daredevil came alive. The Daredevil glided through the beaten up fronts and reacted like there was no carry down at all. The HyWire was in play on the fresh house pattern because it smoothed out the over under. The Daredevil was interesting on the fresh whether it was a house pattern or a shorter sport pattern. The Sky Rocket was more controllable and read the mid lane really well on the short pattern early. As soon as the carry down occurred the Sky Rocket had me opening up my angles too much. The Daredevil with more length and more reaction on the backend opened up the lane for me. This powerful skid flip motion was needed in the HP 3 line and the Daredevil delivers. The Daredevil is perfect complement to the Haywire and HyWire in the HP 3 line because it gets down the lane and booms on the backend.

The new addition to the HP3 line from Roto Grip is the Dare Devil. A strong low RG pearl with a medium differential. I drilled mine with a little weaker layout, 5.25 x 5.25 x 2. This ball hooks a lot for symmetrical pearl. Similar motion to the Haywire but much cleaner through the fronts with the pearl cover. Most of the bowlers who through the Dare Devil in the matchmakers were very surprised with the amount of hook and backend. Dare Devil is great addition to the Roto Grip line. It will fits all styles of bowlers. Brian Watson PAP - 3 up 1 1/2 Speed - 16-17 Rev rate - 400 Tilt - 17

Roto Grip dare devil Layout: pin below the bridge cg out to the right 1.5 inches. Oob condition Lane conditions: 40 ft ths, hpl This ball is absolutely amazing. I wanted it to fit between my wreck it and no rules and was unsure if it would hook enough. I really shouldn't have worried this ball hooks a ton. I could play deep in the oil and the ball would still have the power to kick corners or swing it out to the dry playing whole lane and still had no problems getting back to the pocket. This ball is available now. Go see you local pro shop operator today, you won't be disappointed. Roto Grip own it.

Orientation: Right Handed Rev Rate: 375 RPM Speed: 16-17 MPH PAP: 4 5/8 straight across Location: Enterprise Park Lanes, Springfield MO Pattern: High Volume THS Layout: 40, 5 7/8, 40 The Dare Devil is the latest Low RG pearl from Roto Grip and it is AWESOME! The Pearl cover gets the ball through the fronts, but the strong low RG core gets the ball into a strong midlane with continuous backend. I'm a big fan of balls like the Haywire, but sometimes, I want them to go through the heads a little cleaner but still create a strong motion. The Dare Devil has no problem with that. The Dare Devil is a must have for fans of the Haywire, HyWire who want a similar motion, but just further down the lane.

Roto Grip Dare Devil Coverstock: Amped Pearl Core: Madcap Finish: 1500 grit polished Flare: medium to high Layout: 45 x 5 x 45 – box finish Test pattern: 44ft THS with Kegel Flex with Ice oil and Defense-C cleaner Test results: Comparing to the Hy-wire, the Dare Devil was less angular and less over/under with similar layouts. The Hy-wire has been a "conditional" ball for me due to my rev rate and tilt. The Dare Devil provided me that extra length and good angle into the pocket. It rolls very similar to a Defiant Soul and a Totally Defiant with a pin down layout. Very consistent and did not vary too much after the conditioner started to carry down the lane. Played a few different entries into the pocket, from playing the gutter with more speed and less hand to 4th arrow with lessen ball speed with more hand, and both worked wonderfully. Will add this to my 4 ball THS arsenal. No Rules, No Rules polished, Dare Devil, and Hustle PRO.

I drilled this ball 4 x 4 x 2 and my PAP is 4 x 11/16. I found that this ball rolled so smoothly and consistently. I used the ball on White #2 and Typical House Shot. I played 30 to 4 and 30 to 12. Both angles I found the ball to be amazingly the same. What I mean about that is when the Dare Devil tracked out to the 4 board she rolled smoothly and came screaming back to the pocket with truly amazing pin reaction and carry. When I tracked the ball to 12 she rolled smoothly and when she reached the break point she was not amazingly aggressive and uncontrollable I found her to be opposite. She sat their until it was time to move and she crushed the pocket as if it rolled her out to the 4 board. The pin reaction on the 12 board line was just as amazing as if I rolled it out to the 4 board. I have been throwing this ball for 2 weeks now and I have average 244. This ball is a must get and great for pin reaction.
