Motiv Trident Nemesis Bowling Ball

Let’s get right to it…the new Trident™ Nemesis is undoubtedly the most angular asymmetric ball ever created by MOTIV®! It proudly features our latest Infusion™ HV (High Volume) Pearl Reactive cover technology and new Sidewinder™ asymmetric weight block design. Intended for medium-heavy oil conditions, the Trident Nemesis has impressive backend motion and powerful continuation. The new Sidewinder™ weight block expands the MOTIV® spec range within the asymmetric category making the Trident Nemesis a very attractive ball because of the impending balance hole rule change coming in 2020. Asymmetry will give ball drillers more influence over ball motion. The Sidewinder™ design is featured in every Trident™ Nemesis from 16 down to 12 pounds. The Infusion™ HV Pearl Reactive cover used on this Trident™ is at the forefront of innovation. With the introduction of Infusion™ Pearl Reactive cover on the Supra™, we saw more angle than ever from a MOTIV® ball. However, the Supra™ was intended for lighter oil conditions, so the task was to tune an already great cover to handle more oil without sacrificing down lane motion. After extensive testing, Infusion™ HV was developed. This cover creates more traction in the oil, yet still creates all the angle a bowler could need. The Trident Nemesis is impressive on and off the lanes. The gorgeous Teal Pearl and Black Pearl cover has a polished 5500 Grit LSP finish and utilizes a ball pattern with bold blocks of color. This look is complemented with Silver Pearl and Aqua Pearl NeoMark™ graphics.

The Trident Nemesis is a new pearl from MOTIV featuring the HV Pearl Reactive cover which was also used on the Supra. The core is the new Sidewinder weight block that generates a .049 differential. The teal and black color combo certainly has the most shelf appeal of any ball in our shop. I drilled my Nemesis pin up with no hole which is my go to layout on pretty much everything. This ball is going to allow me to stay to the right with everyone else on PBA patterns in senior regionals as the patterns become wet/dry and the solid balls start to react to soon. For league I'm able to move left and open the lane up with ease. I see the Nemesis being a very versatile piece to have in the bag at all times.

Review: The Trident Nemesis is the latest release from MOTIV Bowling products. This Asymmetrical beast is ready to hit the lanes that will give MOTIV fans that long, angular motion through the pins on medium-heavy oil and to dominate the competition. The Nemesis brings together a brand new core to the MOTIV line, the new Sidewinder and we paired it up with the Infusion HV Pearl Reactive Cover Stock to give the Trident Nemesis a long, angular motion and impressive continuation through the pins on medium-heavy oil conditions. Also with the new Sidewinder core, with the new rule changes going into affect bowlers will have no worries about putting a weight hole because with the shape of the core that worry will go away. Weight Block Sidewinder Cover Stock Infusion HV Pearl Reactive Finish 5500 Grit LSP Comments: The Trident line has been a great product line for me over the last couple of years. All of them have brought me success with honor roll scores and tournament success and with the announcement of the Trident Nemesis I was licking my chops to put some holes in this bad boy and I haven't been disappointed. I love the Nemesis because of the long, angular shape it gives me on the lanes and the hitting power is through the roof. Bowlers of all styles will love this shape because when lanes breakdown, they won't have to worry about losing the pocket because this ball will still hit from anywhere. Likes: Long, angular motion: lots of backend and powerful continuation through the pins. Dislikes: None I recommend the Trident Nemesis for all types of bowlers MOTIV Staff Player, John Robertson www.motivbowling.com

The Trident Nemesis comes with the Infusion HV Pearl Reactive coverstock wrapped around the all new Sidewinder core. Being that this cover is a new formulation of that on the Motiv Supra, I was pretty excited to see just how angular this asymmetrical ball would be. I drilled mine with the pin above the bridge which is the same layout I used on my Alpha Jackal. Out of box at 5500 Grit LSP, this thing is super clean through the fronts. I was a good step right off my Alpha Jackal line and felt like this ball played great for my play style up the boards. After a few games with the Trident Nemesis, I switched to the Supra and moved about 3 boards parallel right to get the Supra to the pocket. I wanted to get the Trident Nemesis to roll just a tad sooner, so I hit it with a 3000 pad and went out for another practice session before a big tournament coming up. As you can see in my review video, the Trident Nemesis became much smoother and easier to read when carry down was present. It was still about 4 boards weaker than my Alpha Jackal so it earned a spot in my bag for the tournament. The Trident Nemesis came in handy as that seemed to be the only ball in my hand the entire week. Whether it was the fresh squad or the burn, the Trident Nemesis rolled great on this heavier and longer pattern. This would make a great pearl asymm piece in your bag if you're looking for something cleaner than your Alpha Jackal or Jackal Ghost. The Trident Nemesis is the newest in the trident line. It has a new Sidewinder asymmetric weight block along with the Infusion HV (High Volume) Pearl Reactive cover technology. This ball since getting it drilled has not left my bag for a league or a tournament. This ball shows more continuation through the pins than any ball I have seen. The shape this ball provides is just like the Supra, but a lot stronger. This ball is awesome on the flat patterns when you have to play deep, but you still need angle and continuation. You will be making this ball your nemesis if you don't order one. Kye Shipley Motiv Staff and PBA member.

I can't say enough good things about this ball! The Nemesis features the same Infusion Pearl Reactive cover stock as the Supra, with an all new Sidewinder core. This ball is particularly helpful to me when I start seeing early friction. At that point, having the ability to go to a ball with a pearl cover helps me get through the fronts, but still have mid-lane read and continuation down lane through the pins. The Nemesis has also been my go to ball in league because I can immediately get into the oil and throw it to the dry. Since drilling it up, my league sets have been 761, 749, 741, and 755, raising my average almost 10 pins over that time. I highly recommend this ball to anyone who has trouble with early friction, but still wants reaction down lane! Devon Miller MOTIV Staffer

I went 65x5x40 and I am pleased to say the least. I wanted something a little earlier and a little less angular than my Supra, thus the layout ( my PAP is 4 ¾ x ¾ ). It did exactly what I was looking for...first game...10 strikes 2 splits ( 4-9, and greek church ). I looked at my buddy, said I am moving 3 and 2 left and BINGO...300!! It really felt good to know I could wheel this beauty to the right and not have it overreact or go over/under on me...which I see a lot with other pearls. This is a great add to my arsenal and I am sure it will be to yours as well...Go Nemesis!! Carl Cramer Motiv Staff

MOTIV Trident Nemesis The Trident Nemesis has a tremendous down lane motion for being a bigger asymmetrical piece. This ball lets you open up angles but being a bigger ball it starts up sooner and still maintains a strong continuation. Not only is the motion this ball creates amazing the ball looks amazing. I drilled mine 80x5x70. This layout is my go to asym layout, it lets me create length and smoothen out the motion a little more so I'm able to control the pieces with my higher Rev rate and medium speed. If you want a strong down lane motion for heavier oil the Nemesis is the ball to get! Motiv Staffer: Sean Mackie Youtube: https://youtu.be/PVboBm_Kzz

The one thing missing in my bag was a Strong Asymmetrical Angular Pearl ball. This ball is Hot off the Spot and does not disappoint. Love the transition when my benchmark balls (Ghost, Shock) cant carry those pesky corner pins; I am able to pull out the Nemesis and let it fly to the dry and never have to worry if it will make it back or not. Drilled mine 35x5x20. Here is a link to my video: https://youtu.be/RhdbMGg0JLU Tim Emmers- Motiv Staff

Motiv is getting closer to a high-end Asymmetrical skid flip reaction with the Trident Nemesis. The new sidewinder core appears to be versatile and responds well to different layouts. First ball drilled at 63-4-75 has a long hook zone with good continuation I enjoy this shape but the pattern has to be transitioned just right to get the corners out consistently. Second ball is 65-4 3/4-30 creates a much more traditional "skid flip" reaction. Personally, the cover was just a bit too clean for my liking, it gave me over under on a handful Med to Med/Hvy patterns and couldn't count on the ball responding to the friction consistently. A light scuff with a used 3000 pad cured most of the issues. All in all, the Trident Nemesis is a fantastic looking ball that is a step in the right direction of a skid flip assym ball from Motiv. Trident Nemesis is a bit pickier on lane conditions compared to the RipCord or Supra due to the fact that they seem to react to the friction more consistently. Layout: 60 x 4 ½" x 30 Building upon the Infusion coverstock technology introduced on the Supra, MOTIV's strongest asymmetric pearl offering to date has arrived: the Trident Nemesis. Boasting a bold teal and black color scheme, this medium-heavy volume release stands out on both the shelf and the lane. Two new technologies are at work on this ball: Infusion HV Pearl coverstock (5500 LSP) and the Sidewinder core (2.52RG, .049Diff). This shell was designed to provide high-powered backend motion when there are heavier volumes of oil on the lane, a compliment to the heavy hitters for when they chew up the fronts but cannot open their angles enough to break the lane down further. The core gives enough flaring power to read the midlane well while also retaining enough transitional energy to deliver a snappy backend reaction. I laid mine out with the intention of having a transitional ball that would compliment the Alpha Jackal when the angles are too much for the Forge Fire or I just need something that will simply push down the lane and flip on the backend on fresher house shots. Out of the box this pin distance actually gave me a bit too much length for the conditions I typically bowl on, so I hit the surface with a 3000 pad by hand and that made the world of a difference for me. I could easily start the league night with the Nemesis crossing around 15-board, with a breakpoint around 5-board, if I wanted to. With this color scheme it is easy to see just how hard the ball is working to gain traction in the mids but then works even harder to explode off the friction down lane. Between the 9-pins I have left and the multitude of errant shots that hit outside of 3-board at the breakpoint yet still came screaming back to the pocket (including several of those 9-pins I might add), I cannot overstate the backend power of this ball. With that in mind, I see this ball shine the most during the transition. Once my Alpha has worn out its welcome because of early friction, the Nemesis' overall strength is an assurance to have in the bag for both the immediate ball reaction need and the next several games as the angles this ball can create and still strike truly is impressive. Between the excellent color scheme and the head-turning response time to backend friction, feel free to unleash angle with the Trident Nemesis. Trident Nemesis: The layout I used on the new Trident Nemesis is 70-4 ½-30. This ball is a great step down from the Alpha Jackal when it starts to read the lane too soon. This ball is clean through the front with plenty of angle downlane to get the corners out. It definitely has the most angle downlane of any asymmetrical ball I have ever thrown. I feel like I will be throwing this ball a lot in league this season and in tournaments when I need to ball down from the Alpha Jackal. David Hooper Jr Motiv Staff

The Trident Nemesis features a brand new asymmetric core combined with a new version of the popular Infusion pearl coverstock that's designed to handle more volume. The result is a ball that will easily skate through the fronts and mids, and then rev up hard, using all that saved energy for a massive corner on the backend. The Trident Nemesis is a great option for bowling looking for a ball for medium-oily fresh conditions and oilier conditions that have broken down somewhat. The core is extremely versatile and takes well to drilling patterns. Drill it to play straight up the boards and you get a nice ball that stays on line, or drill it for a huge backend angle and move inside to open up the lane. The Nemesis will give you a look that no MOTIV ball has ever produced. I recently uploaded a YouTube video featuring the Trident Nemesis using two different layouts on two separate balls. Bryan Ramsey Motiv Regional Staffer The trident series has been my favorite motiv line to date, the Quest was my absolute favorite piece. Let me tell you what, this ball is something special. First night it hit the lanes I went 735. Ball gets through the fronts so well, with a ton of angularity on the backend to punch out those corner pins. The new sidewinder core paired with the Infusion HV cover is such a great combo that's going to put up some big scores on a variety of shots. It's a perfect step up from your Supra and the perfect step down when your alpha is to strong. I'm expecting huge things from the Nemesis moving forward, well on its way to being one of the best pearls produced in 2020. This is going to be one that every bowler needs in the arsenal. Best company in bowling keeps raising the bar with every release. #NEMESIS #MOTIVBOWLING

The layout I used on the Trident Nemesis is 70x4x20. This bowling ball allows me to really open up my angles. The first night of league I shot 300 and 805 with it! This is a very clean and angular asymmetric ball. Comparing this ball to others, my first comparison is to the Supra. For me, I threw both at the same surface and the Nemesis is about 7 boards stronger than the Supra. My second comparison is to the Alpha Jackal. The Alpha Jackal hooked more overall for me and read the mid-lane a lot sooner. The Trident Nemesis was cleaner and a lot more angular. I believe the Trident Nemesis would be a good ball for when the Alpha Jackal starts to burn up or hook to much in a certain spot on the lane and the Supra is too weak. When seeing the name Trident on the ball, don't think about the other Tridents. This is a completely different motion. Drew Crain Motiv Staff

Where to start with the Trident Nemesis. I have mine drilled pin down and I love it. It's a versatile ball that I can use on the fresh oil, or after the conditions have been beaten up on towards the end of league. It's clean and reads the mid lane very well. It drives through the pins and seems to get the corner pins out very well. I have already ordered a second one to put a different layout on it. I feel like it's a great step down from the Alpha Jackal but it's also the perfect compliment to the Supra. Well done Motiv, well done!
