Layout - 50 x 5 x 40 Bowler Stats: Rev Rate – 400-425 Ball Speed – 16.5 mph (down-lane) PAP – 3 3/4 over, zero Right-handed Test Environment: 2018 US Open Pattern #4 (43') Review: The shelf and on-lane appeal of the Trident Horizon is amazing. On the lanes, I compared mine along with the original Forge and the Forge Fire due to its location on the ball chart. My first impression was everything I imagined it to be – a slightly cleaner piece than the Forge upfront, but with a more continuous motion downlane similar to the Forge Fire. As the lanes began to transition, I can see how the asymmetric core works its magic. When the Forge Fire became a little too quick or was a little too clean, the Trident Horizon provided enough traction soon enough while still creating that controllable motion downlane. As a fan of every ball that has been on a similar spot on the ball chart, I can guarantee I will be drilling multiples of this in the future. Likes: Versatile Cover Controllable downlane Great for tournament play Dislikes: None Summary: While some may not be fans of asymmetric pieces or not have as much knowledge for its use, the Trident Horizon will make you a believer. With the amount of success I've had with the original Forge, I absolutely was excited for what was to follow. The Trident Horizon is definitely a piece that I can utilize on various patterns from start to finish – on the fresh and as the lanes continue to transition. There is something special about this Hybrid coverstock, the various surface changes that can be done with this while still being able to perform well is amazing. Trident Horizon Coverstock: MXC Coercion Hybrid Reactive Core: Sidewinder Type: Asymmetrical Box Finish: 4000 Grit LSS Layout: 45 x 4 ½ x 70 Video: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=DUFc1CBexq4 Strengths In terms of angularity Trident Horizon has more than its angular predecessors Trident Nemesis and Trident Quest despite them both possessing glassier OOB finishes, however in terms of coverstock MXC Coercion Hybrid is more responsive to friction at the end of the pattern. . MXC Coercion Hybrid is what makes Trident Horizon clean up front, cleaner that both Jackal Legacy and Forge Flare which possess MXC Coercion. It can be compared to Fatal Venom from a read standpoint, however it reads earlier to that of Fatal Venom. MXC Coercion Hybrid will offer you a combination of midlane traction and plenty of continuation at the back end, very useful in the event you decide to cover a bit of lane. Weaknesses MXC Coercion Hybrid is still MXC Coercion Hybrid meaning when Trident Horizon encounters too much friction you may want to ball down, however there is always the option of glassing it or simply moving your feet in the opposite direction of the hand you throw with. Overall Summary MXC Coercion Hybrid is what society has been waiting for in terms of clearing the heads without the natural grab that MXC Coercion possesses, even in Hybrid form Trident Horizon has a lot of muscle and traction in the oil. Although MXC Coercion Hybrid is in the came family as Jackal Legacy and Forge Flare, is substantially cleaner and quicker than both Legacy and Flare. I have confidence in having Legacy and Flare paired with Horizon for a terrific trio for fresher oil conditions, in terms of surface I prefer mine at box although I did put a bit of hi-gloss on it to see what my reaction would be and it evened out the asymmetrical reaction. I encourage you to not look over this Horizon instead try this Trident Horizon. Your game will Thank you. K.C. White II Motiv Staff IAMBowling Staff

The Trident Horizon has instantly become a go to ball in my bag. With the Sidewinder core, the Horizon is the perfect ball down from the bigger asymmetrical balls that allows for a cleaner transition through the front part of the lane, with an insane amount of continuation through the pins. I can move in on heavier oil patterns and the Horizon still digs through the oil with ease and doesn't lose any hitting power down lane. With how versatile this ball is, I can see myself drilling more with different layouts in the future to give many different looks to the pocket. Layout: 50 x 4 1/2 x 30 Devon Miller MOTIV Staff

The Trident Horizon is the newest asymmetric ball in MOTIV's line of products and it sure doesn't disappoint. What I love most about this ball is that the Coercion MXC formula is strong enough to use on the fresh of heavier patterns, but the sidewinder core used in the Trident series allows the ball to retain enough energy to corner and still get through the pins as you move left during the duration of a block. Having this ball in your 6 ball arsenal is essential because this ball can do it all and is extremely versatile and can cover a variety of ball motions. By far one of the most versatile balls I've thrown recently. It'll be a ball that I'll be taking with me everywhere! If you would like to, please check out my review of the Horizon on YouTube. The ball still kept trucking through the pins as I kept moving left! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RSm7hy7jaQA

The Trident Horizon fits perfectly in the medium/heavy oil line on Motiv's ball chart! This ball features the Sidewinder asymmetric core which has a higher RG and lower intermediate differential which always this ball to clear the fronts more easily and the new Coercion MXC Hybrid Reactive cover technology really allows this ball to create more backend motion! This was a favorite the first time I threw it and you will want one of these in your tournament bag! Steve Haas - Motiv Staffer

Layout 55 x 5" x 35 Popping performance and colors? The Trident Horizon certainly grabs attention on the lanes with both its color scheme and outstanding performance on medium-heavy to medium conditions. The new Coercion MXC Hybrid Reactive coverstock, finished at 4000-grit LSS, wrapped around the asymmetric Sidewinder core (2.52 RG, .049 Differential, .013 Intermediate Differential), creates a versatile ball reaction that has shown me it can excel on straighter, fresher lines as well as deeper, burnt-track lines. Based upon the strength of the cover, I laid my Horizon out to push a but further down the lane and retain more energy for a more pronounced backend motion since the house I typically bowl in has a medium volume shot. Even with this 'weaker' layout, this ball has plenty of teeth to bite through the oil and create the traction needed to throw it on the fresh. Getting through the heads is easy thanks to the Sidewinder core, the Coercion MXC coverstock digs to find midlane friction, and these two forces combined unleash a quick, powerful backend motion that creates forgiveness at the spot which, in turn, opens up the pocket to throw pins for exceptional carry potential. In any given night of practice or league I have started as far right as laydown-10/cross-8 and have continued through laydown-30/cross-22. This versatility has given me stability within my arsenal which has allowed me to stay above my competitors when the transition happens. By being able to both create friction and then get left and use the friction, the Horizon has allowed me to make consistent moves and stay more comfortable as the night progressed compared to others who have to switch their equipment as early as frame six of the block. While the coverstock is in the same family as the Jackal Legacy and the Forge Flare, this ball is significantly cleaner and quicker therefore you can have confidence having either of those balls along with the Horizon to create a strong one-two punch for those fresher oil conditions. I truly believe the Trident Horizon is one of the best medium-heavy balls on the market today, both in reaction and in looks (to be honest, blue and pink has always scored for me). The versatility of the angles you can create with a single layout is impressive in-and-of itself, let alone what could be accomplished with surface changes as well, which makes this a special release that could have a home on the MOTIV ball chart for some time. Review: The Trident is the latest release in the MOTIV Bowling product line. This Hybrid monster will be the first ball out of your bag at any event and will dominate the lanes in that event. The new Trident Horizon brings together the Hybrid Coercion MXC cover stock, the solid version of this cover stock can be found on the Forge Flare, and we wrap it around the sidewinder core. This wow combination gives the bowlers an option that can dig through the oil but can still give you retainable energy down lane that can clear the fronts much easier than any other bowling ball in that category. IF you want something that is going to be the first ball out of your bag and can throw it on anything then get the Trident Horizon at your local pro shop today. Weight Block Sidewinder Asymmetric Cover Stock Coercion MXC Hybrid Reactive Finish 4000 Grit LSS Comments: The Trident Horizon this the first ball in an awfully long time that it's the first ball out of my bag at anything I bowl. First time throwing it, it gave me the wow reaction that I haven't seen in some time. I feel I can throw this piece on any condition and have success and I have had some mild success in the events that I have bowled since this ball has been in my bag. All types of bowlers need to have this bowling ball in their bag because while it is a big piece, I feel that it can be thrown on anything and it won't give the pocket away and people don't have to get out of their comfort zone in order to throw it especially with the finish the Horizon comes out of the box with. Likes: Versatile; Strong down lane motion; continuation through the pins. Dislikes: None I recommend this bowling ball for all types of bowlers. Wow. I am partial to the Jackal line but this ball is amazing. This ball is so clean through out every part of the lanes. I love the way that this ball comes off the spot and thru the pins. I can see myself being able to use this ball on just about any oil pattern there is. This combination of core and cover really go well together.
