This ball will replace your biggest hooking ball in your bag. Period. It feels like an arrow stronger than the jackals so you know it hooks!

Ball Layout - 25x4.5x40 Test Pattern - WTBA Paris Bowler Specs - 16mph, 425 rev rate, low track The Trident Abyss has unbelievable capabilities compared to those earlier in the line. The Coercion HV3 Coverstock is so strong, but with an unreal amount of control, there is no doubt that the ball will absolutely hook. By far, this is the strongest I have ever thrown. I compared mine to my Jackal Rising and Trident Quest. While I typically like playjng smaller angles with the Jackal Rising, I naturaly played further left with the Abyss. The Abyss was able to create a shape that was able to play with the over/under as it was able to read early enough in the oil and not react as fast as the Quest when get the ball gets out earlier to the dry. The Abyss is an unstoppable force. For as big overall as it is, the signature continuation is still there even when getting deep and way inside. If you need something that hooks, there is no doubt where to look. Darryl Carreon MOTIV Staff | PBA Member

This ball does 2 things HOOK AND STRIKE and it does both A LOT. If you want or need hook this is the ball to get. Not only will you move left with this ball it pounds the pocket and does not run out energy. I can't say enough about this ball it is really just overall powerful ball. Just get this ball and #MOVELEFT of everyone else. Thanks Nick Doggette MOTIV STAFF PERFECT APPROACH PRO SHOP

By Bryan Ramsey From Phillipsburg, NJ About Me Motiv Staff Strongest Motiv Ball to date Let me start off by saying this ball is a monster. I'm a fairly high speed player with a rev rate that sits around 420. I picked one up due a tourney I had coming up that was throwing down a 47 foot pattern, this ball is everything I expected it to be and get ready to believe the hype. Perfect ball for your higher volume tourneys. But let me tell you that's not all this ball offers. I also have tested it on several occasions on my house shot Tuesday nights and came away blown away with just how versatile the abyss is. Do yourself a favor and pick one of these new motiv monsters up, you won't be disappointed. #MOTIVBOWLING

Poseidon, the Roman god of the seas, dwells within the abyss... The symbol of his might, the Trident! With a trident in hand, the control of the abyss is in your hands. MOTIV has embraced this very myth. They introduced us to a piece that allows us to conquer the heaviest of oil patterns. This is shown in its very name, the Trident Abyss! MOTIV has taken the Turbulent asymmetric core we have seen in the previous Trident pieces and wrapped it a modified version of the Coercion cover stock. We are now introduced to the Coercion HV3 reactive cover stock, which allows the Trident Abyss to dig hard and deep into the heaviest of oil patterns. The Abyss is, to simply put, no joke when it comes to dealing with heavy oil. This new modified cover stock allows you to carver right into the oil and simply control the pattern. What I personally like about the Abyss is that although it is such a strong cover stock and some of the concerns with that involves the ball burning up too early and lacking hitting power down lane, this is not the case. This piece allows me to develop shape regardless of how heavy the oil is on the lanes and still maintains continuation down-lane. One interesting aspect I have found with the Abyss is that not necessarily limited to superbly saturated lane conditions. On several occasions, I found myself using the Abyss in situations where the lanes called for more of a controlled shape on the lane. Essentially, I'm referring to shots that were on the tighter side but not exactly heavier oil patterns. The Abyss allowed me to play a more simplified shape on the lane and if I experienced carry down, the Turbulent core still provided the hitting power down lane to snap out the corners. The Trident Abyss is an absolute must for the competitive bowlers that struggle on the heavier oil or those bowlers who face tighter-than normal house patterns that struggle with getting the correct shape on the lanes for optimal scores. Trident Abyss is the newest form of Motiv weaponry to combat heavy oil and possesses the same Turbulent core as its predecessors Trident and Trident Quest, the difference however in Abyss is Coercion HV3 reactive coverstock with an out of box finish of 2000 LLS. The cover is designed to provide traction on the heaviest of oil patterns. I consider Abyss to be the snow tire of snow tires because of the amount of traction it provides while going through the oil pattern effortlessly, it had no issue heavily standing up in the midlane with more than enough energy down lane to go through the 1-3. As the oil pattern transitioned it became a matter of moving left and as long as there was enough oil up front for me Abyss continued to do as advertised, because Coercion is s huge cover you will see no shortage of hook or recovery down lane. To the credit of Abyss it does create a fair amount of angle at the break point for the cover being as coarse as it is, granted it is not as angular as the Trident Quest but it's still rather impressive. Abyss isn't the type of weaponry that will checkmark off the spot but it will stand up and roll over, a trait I find most desirable in snow tires. Comparisons Jackal Rising: The strength of between the two of them is the ability to overpower heavier patterns due to the coverstocks they possess, Coercion HV3 is bigger than the Coercion HV2 and is also earlier providing more traction overall. If it's a snow tire you want then Abyss is what you're looking for and should you want a smoother alternative go with the Jackal Rising. Jackal Ghost: Ghost is more angular on heavier patterns than Abyss is at the break point and is not as early as Abyss is, Abyss also has a bigger cover than that of the Jackal Ghost. Trident: Although can create traction on the heaviest oil patterns it doesn't create as much traction as Abyss does. Trident does offer more angularity than Abyss does down lane because of its hybrid coverstock I like the traction Abyss creates which is why it's an easy choice when encountering heavy oil patterns, not only do I get a lot of traction but that traction is not lost when I have to move my feet left of target. As the pattern breaks down and the fronts start to fade it is not beneficial for me to continue to use Abyss out of box, it is best that I ball down as excessive friction is not beneficial to Abyss. Motiv has a record of creating weaponry that does as advertised as Abyss is no different, weaponry designed to combat the heaviest of oil patterns. Stare into the Abyss if you dare. Your game will thank you for it. K.C. White II Motiv Staff Whybowl Staff

Motiv's NEW Trident Abyss merges the Turbulent assymmetric core and the Coercion to create the strongest ball we've ever made! Finally got to throw this ball, and I was with speechless. The #StepLeft is real. My home center typically is heavier in the middles, but the Trident Abyss cut through the pattern and hit like a truck. I strongly recommend this ball for speed dominant or lower rev players and for higher volume/heavier patterns! Motiv Staff Tyler Lewis

This ball is the newest introduction into the Trident line of MOTIV bowling balls. The MOTIV Trident Abyss features the combination of the Coercion HV3 cover stock and the Turbulent asymmetric core. This is the strongest ball ever made by MOTIV and is built to dominate in a flood of oil. Most importantly, it features the continuation through the pins that MOTIV balls are becoming known for. It will be a great fit in your bag on heavy oil. With the merging of a high differential with a low RG, the Trident Abyss creates maximum track flare to make the turn in deep oil. The Trident Abyss will become that ball you can count on when you need the ball to dig on heavy volume patterns. When I was told how much this balls hooks, I was honestly worried that it would burn up. To my excited surprise, it never even thinks about it. I have never seen such a big ball continue through the pins anything like this special ball does. My Trident Abyss is laid out pin down (below my bridge), the cg shifted to the right (no extra hole). This ball has already found a place in my bag and drives through the pins with easy from any angle. If you are looking for a ball that will hook on anything, provides control, does not sacrifice backend reaction, has continuation and awesome hitting power. Look no further, you've found it. Motiv's newest release is the Trident Abyss. Merging the Turbulent asymmetric core and a modified Coercion cover, this is the strongest ball ever made by MOTIV and it is built for oil. The Turbulent weight block provides a lower RG with a high differential creating maximum track flare to help you make the turn in the oil. The Coercion HV3 (High Volume 3rd Generation) reactive cover has been modified to dig even harder in heavy oil. The Trident Abyss is an obvious fit for speed dominant and low rev bowlers looking for more hook. Competitive bowlers will love this very strong piece that provides control on heavy oil patterns. From DEEP! Wow. This ball is something else. As a medium ball speed, high axis player, it has always been a struggle to get a ball to bend on heavier oil till now. The trident abyss featuring Turbulent core wrapped by the HV3 cover creates that overall strong motion you want to see on heavier/longer patterns. I threw this ball on house and I started further left than anyone and watched this ball just tread through the oil. I said this wasn't enough. I took this ball to a 47' oil pattern where I had struggled in the past to see shape, this ball did what I needed it do. I was able to square up and get this ball to tread through the oil all while having the continuation down lane. I even had miss room to the right and was able to watch this ball pick up and not lose energy. If you struggle to get a ball to hook or can't get the ball to face the pocket on heavier patterns, go to your pro shop and get a Trident Abyss right now. You won't regret it. Motiv Staffer D.J. Layout: 90 x 2 ¾ x 35 Holy hook in a box, Batman! Honestly, when first opening the packaging I thought that a piece of the parking lot was shipped instead. Much to my delight, there was no error and it was the Trident Abyss. The all new Coercion HV3 coverstock (finished at 2000LSS) gives off a sense of pure hook in both sight and feel while the proven Turbulent core (2.49RG, .054Diff), the workhouse of the Trident line, is lurking beneath the surface. I could go into the typical details of how this heavy-oil ball rolls through the soup, but instead I will just say that this rock, the most hooking piece ever created for MOTIV's lineup, will provide you with all the traction you need plus a bit to spare. Even with my low flare layout there is still no issue in getting this ball to read the lane and create its own friction to move towards the pocket. Make no mistake, this is a lot of ball on a typical house shot, so be prepared to dive deep even on the fresh. Prepare to dive into the Abyss! Motiv's new Trident Abyss comes with the new Coercion HV3 Reactive coverstock and is the strongest ball they have made to date. It uses the same Turbulent core as the previous Tridents. I have mine drilled 70 x 4.5 x 40 which puts the pin above my fingers. Review: You've all heard this ball hooks a ton. I am normally a down and in guy who likes to play around the track. My practice session was on a house shot that had about 5 games on it. Off my Rogue Blade (pin down at 2000 grit) line, I had to take a good 8-10 board move left in order to hit the pocket with the Abyss. This ball definitely reads the lanes sooner than anything in my bag and allows me to get inside out of my comfort zone. Before the Abyss, I used a Rogue Blade or Villain for heavier patterns, both at 1000 grit. The Abyss reads much sooner than both of these and I feel has more drive going through the pins when you hit those floods. Summary: This is a ball I'd keep in my bag for the earlier blocks and to help me move inside when I need to play those deeper angles. I don't see me being able to use this all 3 games of league, but could definitely get some use game 1 and 2. I have not thrown any of the other balls in the Trident line to compare, but for comparison to the Rogue Blade and Villain, I am a good 8-10 boards left. When you need a ball to play the flood and read early, the Abyss is the one for you. Adam Yoshii Motiv Bowling and Vise Inserts Staff Member Just Bowling Pro Shop

Motiv Trident Abyss HV3 – High Volume Reactive 2000 Grit LSS Asymmetric Core Layout 45 x 4-3/4 x 40 Bowler Specs: Right Hand. PAP 4-3/4 Over 1/4 Up Rev Rate 250. Tilt 20. Rotation 50. Speed off hand 18 Review: The new Motiv Trident Abyss is definitely the most aggressive ball in the Motiv line. If you are worried about the new USBC rules cutting back on hook get this ball! The Abyss is simply a beast. The ones I have drilled so far for testing have no weight hole. We might as well get ahead of the new rules. I see asymmetric balls like the Abyss becoming more popular in the future due to the no weight hole rule. You will need to start the Trident Abyss in the oil or it may burn up too early due to the strong surface grab of this ball. I tested this ball alongside my Villain and even with my lower rev rate I was 6 boards left with my feet while rolling the Abyss. The way this ball handles oil and covers boards is very impressive. I will feel much more confident when I go to my next heavy oil tournament using this ball. I have a few stops in Arkansas coming up and I will have two of these with me for sure. When you trust a ball to come back it is easy to make a good shot. I have rolled this ball on a variety of conditions and if there is heavy oil you will not be disappointed. This is not a dry lane ball! The carry of the Abyss is very good considering it rolls so early. I have a lower rev rate and high ball speed and the shot we did the video on was a heavy oiled, modified house pattern. The Trident Abyss has an early continuous roll and very predictable back end. Motiv has a hit with this new cover. If you are looking for a heavy oil ball, or bowl on thick sport or PBA conditions the Trident Abyss is a must have. I will put the total hook of the Abyss up against any other ball currently available. Summary: The Trident Abyss has the strongest Motiv cover ever with a turbulent asymmetric core for max hook. If you need a heavy oil ball you need an Abyss. The Abyss is early and continuous. If you are speed dominate or bowl on a flood this is your ball. Coming 10-03-18 is the new Motiv Trident Abyss! The Abyss is raising the bar for traction in oil while maintaining energy retention for great continuation. This will be the STRONGEST solid cover that Motiv has ever produced, but it's paired with the Turbulent core from the Trident series in the past, which promotes a little more length and continuation in comparison to the early rolling Jackal Rising. Im finding for me that the Abyss is a foot or so longer than the Jackal Rising but 3-4 boards stronger overall, which will be a piece that more styles of bowlers will definitely enjoy and help the more straighter and less hand bowlers. The Abyss compared to my ghost was hands down more over all hook. Must have ball for everyone. Go get your's when it comes out. Motiv staffer
