Rogue Assassin Coverstock: Coercion HFS Reactive Core: Sigma (Symmetric) Surface: 3000 Grit LSS Length: 14 Backend: 16 Flare Potential: 5+ Layout : 90 x 2 ¼ x 45 The was an idea to create a weapon that was capable of being a control benchmark on medium oil, capable of providing traction in the oil, and to provide a controllable down lane motion, The end result was the Rogue Assassin. The Sigma core is our benchmark standard as it provided bowlers with stability that dates back to the SX1, SR2, Sigma Hybrid, Sigma Tour, Sigma Sting, Forza SS and Rogue Blade. Coercion is our proven coverstock that's been utilized on heavier oil weaponry is intended to increase friction on heavier conditions so Rogue Assassin will allow you to assassinate, Coercion provides more traction in the oil than Rogue Blade's Hexion SE cover and has a box finish of 3000 to the 4000 of Rogue Blade. The aggressiveness of the Coercion coverstock makes it smoother at the breakpoint compared to weapons such as Rogue Blade, Ripcord, and Villain Scorn however it does possess more overall total hook, I consider this trait to be a plus because attached to the overall strong hook is the strong continuation. Much like with Trident Abyss Rogue Assassin is best suited for heavier conditions, and Coercion offers more overall total hook compared to Golden Jackal, T10, and Ripcord. As aggressive as Rogue Assassin is it does require oil upfront to perform at a desirable level, short oil patterns didn't quite give me the ball motion I was looking for and at that point I audibled out to a smaller weapon. Rogue Assassin will offer you more overall hook than its predecessor Rogue Blade, as I fan of the Sigma Core it was a no brainer why it was love at first roll. Assassin's use weapons of assassination to assassinate so I encourage you to take a look at Rogue Assassin. Your game will thank you for it. K.C. White II Motiv Staffer

The Sigma core has been a favorite for years because of its versatility and amazing power. Combining a moderate differential with a lower RG, the Rogue Blade provides outstanding control in the mid-lane. The Rogue Blade is wrapped with MOTIV's new Hexion SE (Strength Enhanced) cover stock. This new shell is an upgrade from the original Hexion cover. Hexion SE is stronger in the oil and gives a faster response down lane. The result is a greatly stronger motion without giving away angle. This ball gets through the front part of the lane, starts up in the mids and smooths out on the backend. This gives me a controllable and predictable ball motion that I see myself utilizing on a variety of patterns. The Rogue Blade will most likely be the first ball I pull out of the bag and will give me a great look on the lanes! Order yours today and #GetMOTIVated Motiv Staff Tyler Lewis

Going Rogue. Motiv took their proven Sigma core and wrapped it in the Hexion SE cover and it is everything you could want from a core/cover combination. This ball is very simple, throw it, watch it strike. I've thrown this ball on 36ft, 41ft, 42ft, and 45ft and it does exactly what it needs to. The versatility this ball provides out of box is the perfect benchmark reaction with some extra pop down lane to make sure it clears the deck. This ball reminds me so much of the Sigma Sting which I had nothing but confidence with. If you are a bowler who only bowls one week a league or someone who bowls everything under the sun, the Rogue Blade will give you all the confidence you need to strike and be successful. Well Hello again MOTIV Nation! It is with great excitement that I am here to introduce you to the next entry into the already impressive MOTIV line. Although MOTIV has been at hard and successful work with providing us with new and innovative weapons to help us in our battles on the lanes, we must not forget some of the original pillars to MOTIV's growth and success. We find ourselves witnessing the continuation of a comeback tour on one of MOTIV's tried and true cores, the Sigma Core. That's right MOTIV faiths, MOTIV is keeping the Sigma core in the lineup as it was revived last year with the Forza SS. This time however, it is wrapped with a new variation of the Hexion cover stock. Enter the Rogue Blade, MOTIV latest entry to their Mid-range/Medium oil area of their bowling ball chart. As explained previously, MOTIV continues to keep the Sigma core alive and well but decided to go with a "old meets new' approach with this one. The Sigma core, known for its versatility and power, is now encased with the new Hexion SE cover stock. This new cover builds on the angularity of the original Hexion cover by beefing up its strength in oil and improving on its response down lane (faster and more angular). The beauty of this combination is that we now have a versatile core with a strong ball motion that will still allow you to maintain different angle down lane. I don't know how else to say this, I am simply in love this piece. The Rogue Blade is truthfully as advertised. I have always been a fan of Sigma core. As many of you have noticed in my previous reviews, the versatility of a piece goes a long way for me and the Sigma core embodies versatility. Some of the issues I've experienced with this core unfortunately was not the core itself, but rather the cover stocks wrapped around it. In the past, such as the Forza SS, although a versatile ball in its own right, there were times I found it difficult to open my angles too much. I would lose carry potential because of the smoother ball reaction it gave me. The Rogue Blade provides me with the angularity I needed to snap that 7 pin out as provide a few weeks ago. I decided to sub in a league for a friend of mine the shift before my regular league later that evening. First game, with almost no effort, I start my evening off with a 300. My evening did not end there however, for my normal league, I move to the other side of the house and end up shooting 278-300-238 for 815. These games were thrown with my Rogue Blade. The ball was not cleaned or surfaced adjusted between shifts, I simply adjusted my positioning and angles and the rest was history. The Rogue is a Monster.... I drilled my Rogue 65 X 4.75 X 60. This is one of the three drilling's I have been using since the USBC has come out with their changes to the weight hole requirement. This leaves the pin under the bridge and the GC kicked out about a 1/2" from my grip line. The reason I chose this lay out is the lay out allows the ball to see the lane in the middle and roll off the spot. As anyone who has read most of my reviews over the years I am a fan of mid lane shape. To me the lay out allows me more miss room and removes the over under we typically fight on today's lane patterns when they get cliffed. My initial ball drilled with Motiv was the OG Sigma Tour, I have been enamored with the Sigma core ever since. I have a friend of mine that calls it the Turkey core, basically looks like a large turkey inside the ball. The Sigma core has been one of my favorites with the low RG and the Medium Diff, this core is strong and continuous. Now add a pearl cover that goes through the fronts and still sees the middle part of the lane with back end continuation. You have a true winner. The combination of big core and strong pearl cover allows the ball to me to use the Rogue on longer patterns and some volume as well. The over all shape is what I would describe as smooth hockey stick. The cover clears the fronts as long as there is enough volume, the Rogue will tell you when there is not enough volume. As the core begins to take over in the middle part of the lane, the cover is working well with core and allows the Rogue to start the shape. The over all continuation through the lane and the pin deck is tremendous. The Rogue will let you chase the pattern and doesn't seem to loose hitting power as long as the pattern has some volume. I am impressed with this ball and look forward to adding this nugget to my tournament bag for the foreseeable future. Clayton Mohr Motiv Staff Alexandria, MN

Ball Specs: Motiv Rogue Blade Hexion SE Reactive 4000 Grit LSS Symmetric Sigma Core Layout 65 x 3.75 x 30 Bowler Specs: Right Hand. PAP 5 Over 3/4 Up Rev Rate 275. Tilt 20. Rotation 50. Speed off hand 18 Review: If you liked the Sigma Sting you will love the Rogue Blade. The new enhanced Hexion cover provides a similar look to the Sting only stronger to overcome today's lane oils. The Rogue uses the trusted Sigma core which is very versatile. Combined with the new cover, the Rogue reads the mid lane very well and makes a very good move on the back end. It seemed to me the early Hexion covers went a bit long for me, so I needed a break in period on the those covers or I had to hit them with a 2000 pad. There was no need to adjust the surface on the Rogue. I actually tried it with a bit of polish and I gained more backend with very little loss in length. The Blade seems to be a very forgiving ball on less than good shots also. The Rogue has been very good on our slightly than wetter house shot and the carry is excellent. As I find with most of Motiv bowling balls this one hooks a bit more than expected. It comes at a 4000 finish so if you find you need more hook or less hook the surface is easily adjusted. Pro shops should not have a problem selling this ball. We have sold some on shelf appeal alone. The payoff is when the bowler sees the performance they are twice as happy! I think the Rogue Blade will be a great fit in any arsenal for medium conditions. Summary: The Blade gives a nice mid lane read with strong back end. This ball is a great fit on medium to oily patterns. The Rogue Blade builds on the greatness of the Sigma Core. Layout: 65 x 5 x 35 The Sigma core is back in mighty fashion in the Rogue Blade. By wrapping this 2.47RG, .047Diff motor in the brand-new Hexion SE coverstock (4000LSS) we get the dependable motion we have come to expect with some explosive pop to finish. The intent of this ball is to fit into the medium oil range; I have found it to do that plus have the ability to create traction in medium to heavy volume. While the midlane read is consistent with every other Sigma ball I have thrown (which I believe to be the best in the game), the new cover system provides unprecedented backend movement and continuation. The moment the Rogue Blade finds the dry it makes a pronounced move towards the pocket with no hesitation; this quickness can create more advantageous angles than something a little more sluggish at the spot. I drilled mine to give me a little extra push down the lane as the typical house shots I see are in the medium range. Even with this longer pin I can easily throw this ball from start to finish. The cover is stronger than anything else MOTIV has put in this reaction category yet there is no sacrifice of energy retention with larger angles. I have been able to play anywhere from straighter and outside of ten board to looping it through fourth arrow. Versatility is key in any benchmark ball, and the Rogue Blade fits that mold wonderfully. So long as you are not trying to throw this in some soup, or on a desert, you will find this ball can just about do it all. Trent Overbey In the Zone Pro Shop MOTIV Staff www.motivbowling.com

This ball is the newest introduction into the MOTIV line of bowling balls. The MOTIV Rogue Blade features the combination of the new Hexion SE (Strength Enhanced) cover stock combined with the proven Sigma core which has been a favorite amongst competitive and casual bowlers for years due to its versatility and incredible power. This masterfully combines outstanding control in the mid-lane with a powerful response down lane. Most importantly, it features the continuation through the pins that MOTIV balls are becoming known for. It will be a great fit in your bag on medium oil. With the merging of a moderate differential with a low RG, it provides the Rogue Blade with easy revs and outstanding control in the mid-lane. The Rogue Blade will become that ball you can count on when you need to control of the mid-lane, but are still looking for a strong backend reaction. My Rogue Blade is laid out pin down (below my ring finger), the cg shifted to the right (no extra hole). This ball has already found a place in my bag and drives through the pins with easy from any angle. If you are looking for a ball to control the mid-lane without sacrificing backend reaction, has continuation and awesome hitting power. Look no further, you've found it.
