Core: Predator V2 Type: Asymmetrical Coverstock: Infusion HV 2:1 Hybrid Reactive Box Finish: 5000 Grit LSP Layout: 45 x 4 ½ x 70 Strengths The strong ball motion Mythic Jackal has coming out of the oil is reasonable, the traction it has in the oil keeps it from missing the breakpoint. Infusion HV 2:1 provides easy length as it is 2 parts pearl and 1 part solid, this coverstock will sit in between surfaced weaponry and small ball polished weaponry. Mythic Jackal is bigger than Jackal Ghost from a backend standpoint, those that felt that Ghost wasn't enough for them will like what Mythic has to offer. We were very impressed with the total hook from this polished bowling ball. It provides a more defined shape with less hook than the Trident Odyssey, while the big back end helps it out-hook the Jackal Ghost on our medium pattern. Overall Mythic Jackal has less hook that Trident Odyssey with more shape, what makes Mythic Jackal standout is its backend reaction. Weaknesses The strong ball motion of Mythic Jackal off can be difficult to handle and can result in over/under, I would suggest a surface adjustment for smaller rev rates as the move inward. Mythic Jackal will let you know if the pattern isn't long enough as it will hard check for those with bigger rev rates like myself, move your feet or ball down. Overall Summary Mythic Jackal (noun): 1. The latest entry into the Jackal line. 2. Utilizes the new Infusion HV 2:1 Hybrid Reactive coverstock that has a 2:1 ratio of pearl to solid and comes out of the box at a 5000 grit LSP finish. 3. V2 core that revs up quickly with a high flare potential giving it plenty of hook to handle oily conditions. Mythical Jackal being 2 parts pearl and 1 part solid is a huge deal to me because hybrids are 1 and 1 however the personality of the ball is dominated by solid or pearl, in this case the personality of Mythic is dominated pearl wise in terms of personality. Infusion HV 2:1 Hybrid Reactive will let you hang around on heavier patterns, medium patterns, and if you're fond on manipulation as I am smaller patterns. In terms of smaller patterns it does become undesirable at a point where Mythic Jackal is simply to big, in that case I ball down. Infusion HV 2:1 Hybrid Reactive is aggressive enough that when it was time to play away from the pocket I was able to use the angularity it offers to my advantage, as the transition occurred the angularity sharpened and the stone 9 and 4-9's I interpreted as a warning. If you felt that you've wanted more out of Jackal Ghost downlane I would encourage you give Mythic a look as it is bigger downlane, the combination of Infusion HV 2:1 Hybrid Reactive and Predator V2 creates strong backend once the ball finds the down lane. Mythic Jackal is far from a myth in fact its nothing short of terrific. If you're in the market for angularity, have never tried angularity, or simply want more angularity in your bag I encourage you look at Mythic Jackal. Your game will thank you for it . K.C. Layout - 50 x 5.5 x 30 Test Pattern - Kegel's Dead Man's Curve The Mythic Jackal is a great addition to the Jackal line. What impressed me immediately was the very quick response downlane. The more I threw it, I noticed how easily I could see the lanes as they transitioned. With the pearl covers on the previous Jackal Flash, I felt I could get into the Mythic sooner with the Hybrid cover. This will allow me to see the midlane transition as well and giving me a bit more range of changing the coverstock if I need to. The downlane shape that this creates is unexpected as it recovers from angles that I generally don't play as much, but gives me the comfort having something big that doesn't burn out. If this isn't a homerun, I don't know what it is. The Mythic Jackal creates a shape in a bigger piece that I simply don't usually see – could partially be due to my style and preference of playing the lanes. The way the Mythic Jackal handles the oil on the lanes is simply impressive especially with the overall shape that it creates on the lanes. This has been a great complement to my Trident Odyssey and Iron Forge. Darryl Carreon MOTIV Staff / PBA Member

The Mythic Jackal is my favorite ball in the lineup right now. The versatility that this ball offers me, coupled with its complementary attributes when compared to other pieces in the MOTIV lineup this ball is a no brainer, The Ghost is the longest running asym on the market and there is no secret as to why. In time however, I do believe the Mythic could absolutely rival the ghost! This ball is quicker through the fronts than the Ghost but still manages to read the midlane in a controllable fashion will maintaining a ton of shape through the pin deck. I do not leave home without this one! - Zack Colosimo - Motiv Staff Member

Layout 60 x 4" x 30 Not all legends are myths. The venerated Predator V2 core (2.47 RG, .054 Diff, .015 Int. Diff) makes an epic return with the new Mythic Jackal. The new Infusion HV 2:1 Hybrid Reactive coverstock is paired with this proven core technology to create an excellent quick-response ball meant to combat medium-heavy lane conditions. I used a 4" pin in my layout so that I could elicit a strong core influence for the ball's shape, creating significant flare for more hook potential. To give myself a feel for the strength of the reaction, I got lined up with my Iron Forge on a fresh house shot, laying down 16 crossing 13. In the end it took a 5-3 left to finally keep the Mythic in the pocket. Even with the coverstock being two parts pearl, the traction generated on the lane is impressive. The combination of cover strength and core power creates strong midlane read, but there is still a huge backend snap once the ball finds the down lane friction. Versatility is also a huge trait of the Mythic as it is one of the few balls in my arsenal that I have been able to go wire to wire with in a league night without even thinking of throwing another piece; strong enough to bite through the early oil yet clean and quick enough getting beyond 20 and the deep friction. Given the wide of a range of optimum performance that the Mythic Jackal possesses, this truly is a special piece to have in an arsenal. Having a reaction and shape like this with the sheer amount of strength it exhibits makes this release something everyone should consider. A legend in the making. I drilled my Mythic Jackal to 60x5x30 just to smooth out some of the angle at the breakpoint. I was surprised to find that this ball reacts through the front part of the lane like a pearl with it being super clean, but once the ball see some friction it picks up like a solid. This hybrid cover stock is 2 parts pearl and 1 part Solid. The first of its kind for Motiv. Within the first week of throwing this ball I shot 300 and 813 the same night. This ball continues through the ball exceptionally well. So far I have been really enjoying this ball and it will be a ball that is staying in my bag for a while. It is so versatile on so many conditions. Kye Shipley MOTIV STAFF MEMBER Mercersburg, Pa
