Paranoia... it can be a terrible thing when it consumes someone. Nothing can compare to it in that person's mind.... It can be seen as if it may never go away... long-lasting... chronic (see what I did there). Never fear my friends, such a thing would not be something for you to bare. No, No. The same cannot be said for your opponents however... MOTIV's new piece to their ever expanding arsenal force them to speak the very problem they will be face with once you pull it out of your bag, Chronic Paranoia. Building off of the success we have seen with the original Paranoia, MOTIV has decided to take Oblivion core and warp it in a solid coverstock! The beauty of the new Agitator Solid Reactive cover is that it is capable of providing incredible versatility that we can expect from what we are considering a new benchmark piece in your bag. What I have seen with the Chronic Paranoia is that it comes 'As advertised', and that is what I love most about it. I have always favored smoother ball reactions as you have seen in my previous reviews. A bowler's competiveness/longevity can always be measured by their versatility. When a ball can allow you to blend out patterns and play from different angles; that is the essence of versatility, which the Chronic delivers on. I have my Chronic specifically placed aside and reserved for my tournament bag for this very reason. I have thrown it in league play and the ball reaction does not disappoint, its transition through the mid-lane does not waiver in the slightest regardless of the angle I take, more squared up shot versus opening up the pattern. Although I have not rolled it on a shot were the heads were rather toasty, the Chronic is one of the first pieces out of my bag when I want to play the lanes more squared up and basically 'Keep it simple stupid'. This approach allows me to keep my moves and adjustments minimal as long as possible until finally I need to make the big jump. Layout: 75 x 5 x 40 Are you looking for a benchmark ball that reads the lane for you but still have a strong backend that does not quit through the pins? Go now further than the Chronic Paranoia. The younger sibling to the skid/flip Paranoia shares the Oblivion core (2.53RG, .047Diff) but uses a stronger, solid coverstock (Agitator Solid, finished at 4000LSS) to give it more teeth. This combination provides ease of motion through the heads thanks to the med-high RG core while still creating a midlane read that allows you to read the lane and make the proper transitional moves. I left mine at box finish and have found that it is an amazing compliment to the prior release, the Primal Fear. Where the Fear glides through the fronts and mids effortlessly, the Chronic picks up a little more in the midlane. This earlier motion creates a bit more control and makes it easier for me to read the lane effectively. Once I start making zone moves left then I can switch to the Fear and continue moving left with no worries of a flat 10 showing up. I have been equally impressed with this ball's motion through the pin deck. Typically one might see the ball lay off just a little bit because of the midlane roll but not the Chronic; when it decides to go left it sees the job all the way through. This piece fits nicely in the middle of my arsenal. At the beginning of the block I can take this ball out, throw it on the pattern, and properly identify how I should attack the lanes; this is the definition of a benchmark ball. If you want to cure yourself of the chronic madness that challenging lanes can create, find the Chronic Paranoia. Trent Overbey In the Zone Pro Shop Motiv Staff www.motivbowling.com

Rev Rate:500 Axis Tilt: 25 Axis Rotation: 45 Ball Speed:17 PAP Measurements: 4 1/8 Description: Chronic Paranoia (noun): Motiv bowling second installment of the Paranoia series featuring the all new Agitator Solid Reactive coverstock and powered by the Oblivion core. Layout: 60/4/30 Ball Reaction: The overall ball motion was different from the original but I was still beyond satisfied with the results; the Chronic is earlier up front and smoother down lane than the original. Whereas I got a lot of snap down lane out of the original; with the Chronic I get a lot of roll. I really like how I am able to use this ball on heavier patterns due to the bigger Agitator Solid Reactive coverstock. Comparisons Paranoia: The standout quality between the two is the overall ball motion throughout the lane; in the Chronic Paranoia the ball motion happens earlier up front and smoother down lane. Upon exiting the pattern is doesn't produce the sharp angular ball motion that the original provides and I see this as a benefit as it allows me to sit on top of the ball; force feeding it into the pocket without penalization. The Agitator Solid Reactive cover is stronger than its pearl counterpart and that allows it to handle oil a little better than the original did as it produces more roll than skid, I see the Chronic as a great counterpart as it offers the exact opposite of the original allowing you different angles of attack. Summary: A recurring theme with Motiv is that we create bowling balls that do as advertised and the Chronic Paranoia does just that, without a doubt it is the exact opposite of the original Paranoia granting you a different shape and reaction throughout the lane. I personally best liked the original at box with our high gloss polish on it, it was ideal for medium to med-light conditions for me however in terms of heavier conditions the original was not an ideal choice. Even in taking down the cover I still found the original too sharp for my liking, the Chronic however is a perfect fit not just for mediums but it can also handle heavier conditions as well. The overall ball motion and continuation of the Chronic Paranoia is a phenomenal compliment to the original Paranoia, and overall it is the stronger and smoother between the two. I gave into my own Paranoia and now it's become Chronic, not only has it consumed me but my opponents as well. I encourage you to give in yours as well. Your game will thank you for it. K.C. With the new Chronic Paranoia being MOTIV's new benchmark ball, I thought it was fitting to test with the former benchmark ball, the Forza Redline – which I have a similar layout on. Immediately, I found my Chronic Paranoia to be extremely controllable from a variety of angles. Unlike the Forza Redline, the solid coverstock has given me a little more versatility with both ball reaction and the coverstock itself. The Chronic Paranoia is more smoother through the breakpoint than the original Paranoia, but still has great continuation through the pins. I did find my Chronic Paranoia to be slightly earlier than the Forza Redline and a little more backend shape as well. The Chronic Paranoia does it all – continuous, controllable, versatile. The term benchmark for me translates to this ball should go everywhere with you. The Chronic Paranoia has a well deserved spot in my bag. It is apart of the perfect 1-2 punch with every ball around it in the current lineup. With the Oblivion Core creating an angular reaction as seen in the original Paranoia, the solid coverstock helps slow down the reaction and does not sacrifice any hitting power. The Chronic is the newest solid release from Motiv. I had much anticipation for this release, the original Paranoia is one of my favorite balls in the line up. I was interested to see what a solid version would do. I ordered 2 right away and drilled them both. I have one 50 X 4.75 X 35 pin up and the other 60 X 4.5 X 60 pin down. I wanted to see was how they would stack up. The pin up ball as would be expected sees the friction and motion much more than the pin down ball. The pin down is much more controllable/predictable for myself. I was surprised to see the Chronic be as strong as it is. With this ball landing directly in the middle of the ball chart and having as much success over the years with other such balls. I feel this ball is going to make a very good benchmark ball. The ball should allow me to see the lane easy and tell me right away what direction I may need to go if that ball isn't working on the given pattern. The overall strong motion and continuation of this ball is going to a good compliment to the original Paranoia. The Chronic is overall stronger and smoother than the Paranoia, not as strong overall as the Forza GT. I am looking forward to using this ball on a typical house pattern when I see one. I am hopeful this ball will be as amazing as the original Sigma was on house patterns. Sigma is still my all time favorite house pattern killer. Clayton Mohr Motiv Staff

Ball Specs: Motiv Chronic Paranoia Solid Reactive 4000 LSP Ball Specs: Symmetric Core Layout 50 x 4-5/8 x 40 Bowler Specs: Right Hand. PAP 4-3/4 Over 1/2 up Rev Rate 300. Tilt 20. Rotation 50. Speed off hand 18 Review: The New Chronic Paranoia by Motiv is one of those balls I immediately fell in love with. It uses the Dual Density Oblivion core from the Original Paranoia but the reaction is very different. The Original Paranoia was strong and angular and got down lane very smooth. The new Chronic Paranoia picks up sooner but still reacts firm to friction and does not quit. The continuation on this ball is one of the best I've ever seen. I don't have a high rev rate but I see most of my shots with this ball splitting the 8 and 9 pin or just behind the 8. The Chronic hooks more than I expected, even in heavier oil. I have no fear swinging it to the dry because it always recovers. When I am ringing the 10 pin with a flip type ball I go to the Chronic Paranoia and wham, no more ten pin! The Chronic is a nice fit between my Venom Shock and Revolt Havoc. It is a little stronger than my Forza GT that I use as my primary benchmark ball, but with a heavier oil House or Sport Shot the Chronic will not disappoint. The Chronic color blend looks fantastic and the Chronic colors even pop more when polished. Did I mention it rolls great polished too! The Chronic is one of the hardest hitting balls I have. This combination of core and cover does not seem to have any over/under problems. I have drilled this ball pin up and pin down, changed the surface and put it in the hands of different styles with great success. The way the new Chronic handles multiple patterns and the confidence it gives me makes it a must have in my tournament arsenal. Summary: The Chronic Paranoia reads the mid lane then finishes with a driving backend and hit. This color is eye catching and very cool. The entry angle provides a great carry percent. If you want a strong benchmark ball, get a Chronic! Glenn Wendel PBA Member Motiv Staff Ultimate Staff Video Link - https://youtu.be/Vec1apU96RU gwendel@comcast.net www.motivbowling.com

DESCRIPTION INNER CORE - Oblivion™ COVERSTOCK - Agitator Solid Reactive FINISH - 4000 LSS RG RATING - 2.53 (15 lbs) RG DIFFERENTIAL - 0.47 (15 lbs) FLARE POTENTIAL - 5"+ REACTION The Chronic Paranoia is the newest ball to take on the title of "benchmark" in Motiv's current lineup and it doesn't disappoint. I can use it from a variety of angles while still retaining carry and continuation through the pins. Whether I am playing up the outside or swinging the middle part of the lane, the Chronic Paranoia excels on medium oil. If you need a ball to blend out the pattern and be able to strike from multiple angles, this ball will give you what you're looking for. VIDEO https://youtu.be/EChFww-UeNc COMPARISONS In my video I compared the Chronic Paranoia to several different balls in our current lineup. As you'll be able to see in the video, it fits perfectly in the middle of our ball chart. The Forza GT reads earlier and is a couple boards stronger while the original Paranoia reads later and is a few boards weaker. Obviously the Primal Fear is stronger and the Venom Cobra is weaker. Just like with all of our releases, The Chronic Paranoia was designed to have synergy with our other equipment. I have been able to ball down from the Trident to the Fear to the Chronic Paranoia throughout transition seamlessly and would be able to ball down to the Cobra as well. SUMMARY The Chronic Paranoia is a ball I will be using for years to come. This ball just flat out gets it done for me no matter what part of the lane I have to play. When I have to bump inside after playing the track area it just keeps carrying. I honestly haven't had a ball this versatile in quite some time. The moderate length and the predictability of how it reads the friction keeps the ball in play and provides me a bit more area on house patterns. It doesn't over read coming off the friction and doesn't go straight in oil. It truly is a remarkable ball and worthy of the benchmark title. MOTIV STAFF MEMBER Doug Anderson

This ball is the newest introduction into the MOTIV line of bowling balls. The MOTIV Chronic Paranoia features the new Agitator Solid Reactive coverstock combined with the Oblivion core. It's smooth through the front of the lane, reads the med lane for change of direction and makes a strong smooth move on the backend. Most importantly, it features the continuation that MOTIV balls are becoming known for. It will be a great fit in your bag on medium to heavy oil. The Chronic Paranoia will become that ball you can count on when you need to blend out the pattern without the ball hydroplaning in the oil. I can clearly see this being my benchmark ball on medium to heavy oil. It does not overreact to the conditions that are in front of me. In saying that, the ball still has a more than expected amount of backends for an out of the box dull solid and seems to recover from almost anywhere. My Chronic Paranoia is laid out is pin up (above the bridge), the cg shifted right and has an extra hole below my axis. This ball has already found a place in my bag and very often will be the first ball out. If you are looking for that benchmark ball that will blend out the pattern for you, with awesome continuation and hitting power. Look no further, you've found it. Motiv's new release is the Chronic Paranoia. This ball will be able to strike from many different angles as it is a medium oil ball and right in the middle of Motiv's ball chart. The Chronic Paranoia features the Oblivion core and the new Agitator Solid Reactive cover stock. All this technology equals a ball which will fit many different styles from the rev dominant player trying to open up the lane to the speed dominant player who can shut down their angles and use this ball's great continuation. Being a medium oil and moderately angular ball, the Chronic will be another "benchmark" ball you will want in your arsenal. YouTube: https://youtu.be/c7hU87OF1Vc Steve Haas Motiv Staff Member
