Loco Motion

Creates the most continuation on the back end in the MoRich line. This is achieved by using a medium flare version of the HUGE symmetrical core to delay the breakpoint. Combine that with the strong HI – TRAC PLUS pearlized cover to insure friction with the lane at the later breakpoint and you get a ball that comes around consistently on the back end on all medium to medium dry oil patterns, like the typical house shot.

The Loco Motion (LM) is the third release in MoRich's foray into symmetrical core bowling balls. The LM utilizes a lower density, higher radius of gyration and lower differential RG HUGE core as compared to the Perpetual Motion (PM) and Aggressive Motion (AM). This provides additional length and backend motion when compared to similar layouts in the PM and AM. My first LM is drilled 20 degrees x 4.25" x 50 degrees and utilizes a balance hole 2" down the Vertical Axis Line (VAL). This layout is useful on higher volume sport and house patterns when I need an earlier transition from skid to hook in the midlane. This Loco Motion rolls earlier but exhibits good backend reaction and continuation through the pins. My second LM is drilled 60 degrees x 4" x 30 degrees without a balance hole. I planned to use a P1 hole to further reduce flare or a P2 hole to retain reaction while supporting legal static weights, if needed. It turned out the ball meets static weight imbalance specifications without an extra hole and I love this LM's reaction with no need for additional tuning of the reaction via an extra hole. The 60 x 30 LM exhibits good length and excellent recovery from deeper angles with a shot shape closer to what I'm accustomed to from Storm Thunder-series releases. Shot shapes from arc to skid/flip are within the range and versatility of the Loco's core/coverstock combination. The coverstock used on the LM is one of the strongest and most versatile I've encountered. It's a pearlized version of the Aggressive Motion's Hi-Trac cover but is as strong as the AM's hybrid coverstock at every ball surface I used from 500/1000 abralon, 500/2000 abralon, 500/4000 abralon, 1000/2000 abralon, 3000 abralon, 4000 abralon, 1000/Rough Buff, and 1000/Rough Buff/Factory Finish: More length and more backend at every comparable surface. I've settled on a 1000/2000 abralon surface for my 20 x 50 LM and the factory surface (1000/Rough Buff/Factory Finish) for my 60 x 30 LM. This is proving to be a terrific combination in the bag, with my 60 x 30 Perpetual Motion as a step down from the 60 x 30 LM and my DestroyR as a step up from my 20 x 50 LM on long and heavy patterns. My 60 x 30 Loco is 4 and 2 stronger than my 60 x 30 Perpetual Motion and is 2 and 1 stronger than my 60 x 30 Aggressive Motion. My 20 x 50 Loco is 1 to 4 boards stronger than my 60 x 30 Loco depending on the surface. My 60 x 30 Loco reacts 1 to 3 feet later than my 60 PM and 2 to 5 feet later than my 60 x 30 AM at compable surfaces. The 20 x 50 LM starts 2 to 4 feet earlier than the 60 x 30 AM. Each of my Motions are 15-pound gross weight balls and all started with ~2.5 ounces of top weight with 3.25" to 3.75" pins. All things considered, what sets the Loco Motion apart from other alternatives is the truly wide range of conditions the ball is capable of excelling on. The large core facilitates everything from a moderate amount of high-flare, midlane-reading asymmetry to a lower-flare reaction that is well within the comfort zone of symmetrical core aficianados while the pearlized Hi-Trac supercover excels on all conditions from long, heavy patterns to short, medium-dry patterns. Whether you have a need for an excellent benchmark ball or have a specific need within your current arsenal, the Loco Motion is capable of filling your need. The LM in the hands of a knowledgeable pro shop professional is the epitome of versatility in a good looking package and at a moderate price. The Loco is well worth your effort in finding a pro shop that stocks MoRich equipment or will special order one for you. It's that good!
