Designed with all styles in mind, the Masterpiece is a work of art. The core revs fast, allowing a high flare potential. The new Traction Reactive coverstock allows the ball to clear the heads and midlane with ease, providing a powerful arc at the breakpoint.

Got ball drilled on June 14, 2007 by Mike Miller at Ten Pins and More in Rio Rancho, NM. Before drilling ball was 15lbs. 2oz. with 2.75 oz of TW and a 3.125" Pin. Ball was drilled with the Pin above and right of the ring finger with the CG kicked out right with a weight hole utilizing a 4 1/2 x 4 lay-out. This ball is absolutely amazing, I didn't think it was going to be so aggressive on my typical house pattern(38" buffed to 45" synthetic using CONTROL oil)then I was expecting, it really digs in and transitions hard into the pocket. In it's current condition (OOB-Polished)it is currently about 5 boards stronger than my Storm Domination(which this ball was supposed to replace, but it's too strong). I was able to play a very similar line compared to my Legends - Black Pearl(OOB-3.0" pin above and right of ring finger with a similar lay-out). It is currently about 3 boards less than my Big Band and about 5 boards less than my NS2. After throwing 6 games with it last night on a fresh patt

I drilled this ball up with a 5 inch with the pin and 4 1/2 with the CG from my positive axis point (PAP). I didn't need a weight hole, and left the ball at factory finish. I threw the ball on 1st and 2nd shift on our house shot. Our normal house shot has around 80 to 90 unit from 15 to 15, and blended out to the gutter. I found the ball to slide too far down the lane in the factory finish. The LaneMaster Masterpiece is a good ball for the medium to heavy oil patterns. With the volume that we have in the middle of the lane, I played around 15 and swung the ball out to around the 5th boards and was able to get the ball back to the pocket. I think that the Masterpiece has a similiar roll pattern to the Absolute Power, but can handle a heavier volume of oil because of the coverstock. I think that with some polish you would see even more skid/snap with this ball, but I am not a big fan of surface adjustments to the factory finish. This is another solid addition to the Lane Ma

At this point I've used the ball in three leagues in three different houses. On med/hvy the ball rolled nicely with an ARC to the pocket. Both light and heavy hits carried well. On LIGHT oil (in box condition) I could not keep the ball consistant. After the first game in this condition had to BAG the ball. If you don't bowl on LIGHT/DRY the ball is worth while having .. I also like the NEW STANDARD .. the company is putting out GOOD balls .. I'd recommend them to anyone! My preference at this point is the NS .. but I haven't giving the MASTERPIECE enough time.
