The ball is a great addition to my team and reserves a place in my bag. it traveles a long time until it starts to hook, but it can slip off its line. it hits so hard and can burn up the lane if it is too dry. If hit on the brooklin side can some times leave the 10 pin if rolled slow but rarely does. The buzzsaw hits like a mac truck and even one time left a pin stuck in the corner of the cage.In all i think if rolled on track a great addition to any intermediate to advanced bowler's bag.<sc

This ball is not for dry lanes. I have mine drilled 1:30 max leverage thinking that this ball wouldn't hook. Well, this ball hooks more than my Freak did. It is 16lbs, and I have the same stats as in my Super Carbide review. This ball really is an over all nice piece to have because it allows me at least versatility on the lanes. It needs dry somewhere on the lanes though because of the weak cover, but I'd say a fair amount of head oil to get it down the lane. Like the other Lane #1 equipment I've thrown, it tells you how to throw it. The XL seems better off if you come up the back more, or push it. I can't really swing this ball because I'd have to call 911 for all the Grand Larcency. Once it hits carrydown it's a solid single wood festival. Also better to not spin this ball, and play a straighter down and in shot. It is a great ball, but it is taking some time to figure out how to TRULY use it.

Got this ball for dry lanes. Had it drilled to go LONG and break Hard on the backend. This is not a drill for dry lanes! Even with my medium ball speed and medium revolutions it is hard for me to control! On fresh shots(med-heavy oil to aprx 40 ft, wet/dry, x-mas tree type shape, clean backends, dry outside the 8th board aprx.)this ball shines. I stand dead center of the lane and throw it over the second arrow. The ball glides and pops to the pocket! The hook was squirrely until I put my thumb at 11:00 and just let the ball come of my hand with no extra revs. I can tug this ball inside the second arrow and it will skid right to the pocket. I can push the ball outside the second arrow and it will hook into the pocket as long as I dont speed it up. It is very forgiving! I just cant believe it. Lane1 groupies say the balls explode the pins. This ball hits very hard. Great mix on light hits. Also,I leave very few 10pins. This is my second Lane1 ball and I am very happy with them both! I will

XL does not go extra long. I have pin between the fingers to go lonnger, it hooks more than my oily lane balls. Why do manufacturers so this is designed to go long? Use this ball on medium to oily lanes but if the heads go so should the ball, back in the bag. The ball carries great but again it is not a ball for dry lanes and that was my reason to buy it. Ball can get squirrly in later part of sets due to carry down, too much over and under except on fresh oil. Buy it drill it for a medium pattern, I can promise you this it is not for dry lanes.

I drill this over a year ago for a shop guy that like to turn it up. I ordered a pin in and put the CG and Pin on his grip line, which is about 5 1/2" for his axis. He used his ball in two leagues, one was second shift and the other was a first shift fresh oil. The first night out was on the second shift, and the bowler found it too hard to control because of the backend. The ball was clean through the front and make a strong arcing motion at about 40 feet. One the fresh shot, this ball was awesome. This more head oil and midlane oil the ball was able to get down the lane further and make a smoother move to the pocket. This is a strong pearl ball, and less overall hook than the Emerald Buzzsaw C2.

I've had a really good experience getting to know this ball. I simply must make sure to not go high in the pocket. It'll carry a light hit pretty well, but will leave a messy spare if allowed to roll too soon. Overall, this ball is well worth the money!!! Beautiful skid/snap when drilled for length! You'll find the XL has a very strong move to the pocket yet still offers some controllability as lanes break down. The high rg and low differential rg make for a ball that likes to go long with a strong snap. This two-piece construction certainly adds to the overall feel and hitting power. While high-pocket carry leaves a little to be desired, the drive and carry on solid-pocket and light-pocket hits makes up for it!

How do you rate a ball that is superior on a few conditions, but is not especially useful (though not horrible) on others? Hmmm. Summary: Great sport shot ball, ball for lanes breaking down or when there are flying backends. Length. Depends on where you throw it. It's pearlized and polished, so it doesn't begin to hook until it clears the heads. This is not to say it skids. It starts to try to roll relatively early for a skid/flip ball. I would call it an 8 on the length scale, good but not like the Mess. Move: Makes a clear, definite move. It does not "snap". It starts to move and then makes a relatively smooth, controlled move left. Hard left, but smooth left. Heck, its a Buzzsaw, what do you expect? Hook. On broken or drying lanes, more than you would expect. Similar to the Voodoo, Wicked or Classic Rock in terms of total boards moved on dry lanes. Now, on longer sport patterns and heavier oil, this becomes a much smaller move, less than those balls, mo

WHAT A GREAT BALL THIS IS. I BOUGHT IT WITH THE INTENT THAT IT WOULD GO LONG BUT MINE ROLLS PLENTY EARLY. BUT IT TURNED OUT OK BECAUSE THIS IS NOW MY FAVORITE BALL. PINS UNDER THE RING FINGER ON THIS ONE WITH THE CG KICKED OUT SOME. WHAT A BEAUTIFULLY ROLLING BALL THIS IS. THIS IS THE MOST PREDICTABLE BALL IVE THROWN NEXT TO MY EBONITE TURBO. THIS IS A GREAT CHOICE FOR WET/DRY CONDITIONS BUT IT NEEEDS TO BE PUT AWAY WHEN THE HEADS ARE REALLY TOASTED CUZ IT ROLLS RIGHT OFF OF YOUR HAND THEN. OF COURSE ITS A LANE #1 SO ITS GOT THE FREIGHT TRAIN HIT BUT THIS ONE IS BY FAR THE MOST STABLE BUZZSAW IN THE FAMILY.
