Overall another pretty good ball by Hammer, the one thing I have noticed when buying Hammer's is that there going to be consistent and thats the case with the Real Deal. 3 pieces of advise. 1. Keep your speed up with this ball, you slow down too much and your ripping right through the heads, this ball is not real forgiving. 2. Keep the ball cleaned, I have been cleaning this ball from the get go and that has led to more consistancy. 3. If dry conditions, run back to the parking lot and get your hard shit, this ball is way to aggressive for Dry lanes.

First let me say Im a lefty adn I average about 155 with this ball. Im very inconsistent. I will throw a 185 a 160 and 125-35 in a night. the other night I rolled a 540 series just to come back the nex week and roll a 420. this ball is very inconsistent. can someone please tell me how i need to drill this ball.I throw up the left side of the lane between the 2 and 3 arrows. It skids and then flips into the pocket some times. If I try throwing it out it will skid right in the gutter and wont come back. On my normal shot it comes in sometimes and other times it just keeps skidding. My pin is above my ring finger top weight 3 oz. I just dont know what to do. IT JUST WONT HOOK!!!!!! I have no clue hoew to tell my proshop how to drill it so it will hook more. Untill this ball becomes more consistent I will never improve my average. PLEASE HELPPPPPPPPP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is the 2nd review for this ball. For those of you who havent read the 1st review, I had the ball w/ the factory finish. I have found that with a lite polish this ball still reads the midlane very well, but with more of stronger backend reaction. This also allows me to play deeper angles w/ ease. I wish that I drilled this ball up sooner. If your looking for a strong piece w/ great power on the backends on those medium conditions, take the Real Deal, polish it up....and there you go!! The Real Deal is the way to go!! Hammer Pride Staff 2005-2006

Since signing with Hammer a few months ago, Ive noticed that the equipment seems to fit my style of bowling more so than any others in recent years. Ive always struggled on long oil patterns and was very reluctant to use particle equipment, based on previous, unsuccesful attempts. I came across many reviews that stated there Real Deal did not seem to suffer the "dead ball" effect. I drilled this ball w/ a 4 3/4 by 4 1/2 layout, putting the pin under the ring finger and MB in the strong postion. I tested the ball on a very wet and long 48 foot pattern, w/ a large amount of units in the middle. This ball revved through the midlane as if it were on a house shot, cruising through the oil, with crushing backend power!!! Whether straight up the boards or bellying the ball, the Real Deal is now my goto piece for those heavy situations. Check this ball out before its gone.....and then you'll get the REAL DEAL!

I came into posession of this ball from a Hammer rep who was bowling in my Scratch League. He had been throwing all sorts of Hammers the entire season, but I noticed that he always seemed to drift back to his Real Deal by the end of the night. I asked why and he said, "control, power...period". After having thrown this ball now for the duration of a summer league, I whole-heartedly agree! Never have I thrown a ball with as much power and control as the Real Deal. This is the SMOOTHEST rolling, finishing, looking...etc.... ball I have ever owned or used. Out of the box and freshly drilled in practice (in a house I never bowled in before) I shot 243, 268, 236. I was hooked. I have thrown my highest series ever with this ball, 798, and I have no doubt that I will hit the 800 mark by the end of the 2005-2006 season. I havent the room for all the positive adjectives, so I'll finish by saying this... want an easy way to raise your average 10 pins?? Buy the Real Deal. Done

Once I felt comfortable throwing the ball accross the middle of the lane, I was able to make the small adjustments to allow the ball to hit the pocket. This truely is a consistant ball with great hooking power and carry. In heavy oil, the ball hits like a hammer and playing the extreme inside angles are made easy with the Real Deal. With small changes in footwork, the Real Deal continues to roll into the pocket and carry. This ball rewards you for making good consistant shots. Even with excessive games thrown on the Real Deal, it still hits as though it is brand new.

I have never had a ball that hooks so much on synthetic lanes, and now i have a ball made for oil! i'm so happy, i hit my mark, the ball turns at the same place everytime and just smashes the pins. i had no solid 10 pins, and it's amazing!!!!! this is just a must have ball for whoever loves the game. It's more hooking than the vicious particle, than the storm vertigo, and the ulitmate inferno. If you want a ball that help your game more than anything, buy it!!!!!!! I don't know if this ball dies out, but it hooks so much even after the oil has begun to set in.

This ball hooks through anything and delivers tremendous power to the pocket. The ball is set up strong with the pin and CG in line. Very forgiving and smooth as long as there is oil. It is going to be VERY rare that I can throw this ball for 3 games but thats OK the 1st 2 have been great the last few weeks. The ball's cover seems to absorb oil so keeping it clean is going to be very important. If not I doubt it will keep it's strength for very long and that would be a shame

THIS BALL IS ONE OF THE BEST HOOKING BALL I HAVE EVER HAD IN MY BAG. THE BEST WAY TO CONTRO THIS BALL IS TO THROW IT HARD IT HAD A WAY TO FIND THE POCKET ...I HAD PEOPLE ASKING ME ABOUT THE BALL BECAUSE WHEN I HIT THE POCKET IT WAS VERY LOUD WHAT A SHREDDER.....THE ONLY WAY YOU SHOULD GET A BALL LIKE THIS IS IF THE LANES YOU BOWL AT ARE OILY...THROW IT ON DRY YOU MIGHT FIND THIS BALL IN THE NEXT LANE .....OVERALL I LIKE THIS BALL IT IS A GOOD BALL FOR THE FIRST 2 GAMES THEN I SWITCH TO MY BIG BLUE PEARL......I HAD A 740 SERIES LAST NIGHT I WAS HAPPY WITH THE RESULTS...

Good start. I avg around 185 and my first series was 675. First 20 games hooked like a dream. Very forgiving. light shots swish the pocket. High shots occoationally leaves a 4 but still carries well. A good ball for house shots and for tourniments. It lacks on sport conditions. Holds nicely for a 10. After about 50-75 games the ball died. I tried cleaning it, sanding it, rejuvinating it. Nothing worked. I got it to hook a little after a major sanding but nothing like it was out of the box. Also at first this ball did not like dry lanes. Have to speed up the ball or play very deep.

This is the fourth hammer I've owned. I'm very pleased with how this ball works on light oil and heavy oil conditions. On the light oil lane I could miss my target and it would still the pocket just right. Had a 247 first game after it was drilled with 9 in a row and 10 strikes overall. Hadn't had that kind of run in a while. The first night I bowled in league with this ball I had the best night overall. I played between the first and second arrows from the left (being left-handed of course) and played it to hook late. It would just destroy the pocket when it hit. All I can say is way to go Hammer!

I really like the way this ball hits and carries. Also the way it rolls up into the pocket. I've experienced that if you get this ball out to a slick spot or get some carry down the ball doesn't have enough recovery like a reactive ball does when it expends it's energy on the back-end. I don't believe this is the most hooking ball in the hammer line. I do however think that it is a great condition ball. For me, I've been throwing it on a med-dry house shot and I just see a nice strong arc and finish. To throw it on Heavy oil to me you need clean backends.

I absolutely love this ball. I bowl in 2 leagues on very different lane conditions and this ball worked great on both. In one league I bowl on a very heavy oil condition. I find that even with my high ball speed I can play 7 to 8 boards further inside then I coud with any other ball I own. This ball allows me to swing the ball and have the best angle to the pocket I ahve ever had. I also have a Total Annihilation, and when I play straight up 5 with that ball, I can play 13 and swing it to 5 and have amazing carry with the Real Deal. On the other condition, I bowl at a house where they have a more medium shot with alot of over-under. Here I can throw the RD deep inside and swing the ball and it really seems to blend the shot well for me, I shot a 300 my third time throwing the ball there. In my opinion this ball is a must have for any bowler who needs a little more punch in their game.

I got a Real Deal and Saw Blade for xmas, drilled the Real Deal up first. i drilled it stacked leveage for me. I have used the ball on all four of my leagues for a variety of shots. In the heavier patterns i was able to swing the ball a bit starting over the second arrow out to about 5-4 board. the ball would finish with tremendous power typical for a hammer. On my second series leagues with more of a medium oil condition i was able to move inside playing around the third arrow. i was able to keep the ball inside the oil or swing it outside depending on how aggressive i felt. Definately the most agressive hammer i have thrown to date, and i have pretty much thrown them all. I would suggest keeping up on cleaning and ball maintance with the particle coverstock. Personally i have never had a particle mantian its great hook more than a few months, i am hoping that the Real Deal will hang around longer than that.

One of the best balls made from hammer in a while. This ball hits hard and hooks hard. I am maybe a tweener and play third arrow mostly wit this bal around 15.7-16.5 mph. I can speed it up to 17.5 or so and play 10 board to about the 8 board and ball comes back and hits like a truck. Recomend this ball to anyone who wants hook in heavy oil with or without carrydown. Rated 10 out of 10 pins this ball in definatly the Real Deal. Uhhhhh not much else to say lol uhhh

This ball is by far the strongest I have ever thrown. Unlike most balls that roll early and then die in the back, this ball just drives so hard into the pocket with great hitting power. This ball is really a good ball...it hits hard, and hooks hard. It is really speed sensitive though, because today at practice i noticed that when i slowed it down a little it would take off threw the face, and if i threw it a little too fast then it would comeback but leave a 10 pin...i left 6 10 pins in a row. this ball is good for anyone who is looking for a ball that will hook a bunch, and you can miss to the outsided and this ball will still come smashing back into the pocket. basically what i am saying is that for anyone who has oil on there lanes i recommend this ball for them. this ball is for real G'ED-UP!

I drilled 2 Real Deals up Sunday. Axis Point 5 1/8 x 1/8 Ball 1 Stacked Leverage. Pin Adjacent to the Ring finger center of gravity on tin the thumb positive quadrant. Balance hole hole on the VAL on a line from the Center of Grip through the center of gravity Used ball on a fresh shot oil from gutter to gutter. I was able to play up 10 feeding the ball out to about 6 and get the ball back to the pocket. As the night wore on I had to move both feet and target in as this ball started wearing a track in the pattern like I was trying to torch the lane. This ball produced a Hard flip set once it hit the back ends. The Second ball was laid out with the pin even with the ring finger with the mass bias 30 degrees from the PAP. The Balance hole was set on the PAP. This ball produced a smoother reaction with out over hooking You definitely need Oil for this ball not to over react. We were able to drill up some of these ball for myself and one of our local senior players. Thanks to Brian Graham for getting us these balls early so we could give them a try. The ball drilled for our senior player was set up like this: Tony - Pin 3 1/2 from PAP and LMB 4 from PAP (pin 1 3/4 above midline) Hole 3 1/2 from center of grip (35 degrees toward thumb quadrant) 13/16 hole 2 1/2 deep. This layout put the pin on his gripline below his fingers and the LMB outside his VAL. Tony's PAP is 3 5/8 up 1 Diameter is 9 1/4. Tony is right handed. This player has a hard time getting most balls to hook on our heavier oil patterns. Generally his balls do not tilt enough at the breakpoint. With the Real Deal, he was able to play around 15 and swing the ball out to around 7 and get the ball back without a problem. He has only been able to test this on the one shot, so I will try and post more later. After one night Tony says this is the best ball he has ever used, mainly beca
