borrowed this ball from my roommate, 14lb, most aggressive hooking drill pattern. 656 out of the gates. was amazed at the break from the 1board. More backend than anything in my bag so i had to get one for myself. House has the lane protectors and tends to wear a dull mark in the ball quickly. Might take alot of upkeep, but it is well worth it for the reaction this ball has in medium oil. Dryer shots, this ball works great for the big wheel shot.

Sweet color and design for the label. Great ball for rev players, spinners beware

The Hammer Black Widow is an excellent bowling ball, especially for players who are looking into gaining a high performance bowling ball for tournaments, leagues, and competitions. Due to its variable "best" conditions, it can be used in almost any situation, excepting the heavy dry lane condition, which is to be expected from a high performance ball. A very smooth, controllable, and predictable roll. While it does come down to who is bowling the Widow, it tends to be more of a smooth arcing motion from release to the pocket, although it will do skid/flip with proper drilling and release. A very solid hit into the pocket, the Widow only suffers in the backends when they are very dry due to its snapping motion which can lead to over/under finishes. A smooth ball with a nice smooth motion, it can benefit any bowler using it. *NOTE: When I say the ball has a smooth arcing motion and a strong backend snap, this is from my ball being drilled for the arcing motion and the fact that my ball i

This ball is out of this world. I got it drilled with the #1 skid/flip layout. This ball hits so hard it's unreal. I average a 188 in my league and that is the highest out of about 45-50 people. The first day of using this ball in my league I shot a 217, 221 and a 201. I can't get enough of this ball. This ball snaps hard at the end but it looks so smooth when it breaks for the pocket. Even when I would pull the ball a little it would hold straight to the pocket. And if I would miss and throw it out to far right it would still come back and hit the pocket. I've never had or seen a ball this great before.

I love this ball, I'd definitely reccommend this ball to late beginners, tweeners and anyone else that wanna step up their game. Any good pro shop with an experienced driller can look at your old ball and drill it to have control like youve never experienced. Even on a dryer lane I just bring my index finger in and go a little underhand and she'll go where ever you want it to go. It does do better on oilier lanes, don't give up on it after a few games either, i was doubting this ball after 10 games but here I am now writing this and giving it a score of 10. Once you figure this ball out you will nothing but pleased and thinking of adding a second one to your bag maybe with a more polished surface....Great Ball!

This ball is a beast, I mean Black Widow. It attacks the pins with frightening force and never lets up. When the ball is in the pocket you will recieve a lot of pin action. If you throw this ball correctly it will have a monster hook to it and it is also forgiving to and extent. But if you put it too far outside or inside the ball will be unforgiving. For a medium to oily surface there is no better ball out there. When the lanes start to dry up this ball just might be too much. Other than that it is a fantastic ball and is a ball everyone should own!

This spider is drilled with the all purpose layout. Also have a small balance hole aprox. 4" from center span as recomended. The line I normally play is 30, over 15 out to about 7 and then bang. I was able to move five over when the lanes dried out and still managed to get a good shot. This ball can be forgiving to some degree, but it can also bite ya if you place it too far out or in. Overall, everytime I hit the pocket, I would get great carry. This ball is very predictable and is a great addition to my new arsenal. Most of all, this thing will carry all ten when it shouldn't. Make a bad shot, and the pin action is really helpful. I can't say enough good about this ball. If you don't have one, definately get one. If you do have one, then you're as lucky as I am...

like i said go get it out of your bag it is the GO TO ball. Great hitting power with control. Wet sanded to give it a readable roll. Tournament conditions worthy. Most important the weight block, used the Big Blue Pearl with same block only differences is the big blue had no flip block on top and was pearl, but rolled with same intentions as black widow does. Please make an offset of the black widow hammer maybe something in the black widow pearl version or another spider name to it. One more thing visit www.broadwaysportscenter.com on behalf of the ownership and management of our center we invite you to our 7th annual W.N.Y.S junior bowling camp with the best coaching staff ever assembled in the U.S.A.

Almost everyone that has thrown this ball loved it. I don't know how this "Smoove" character came up with such a negative review. He either doesn't have it drilled correctly or is a sorry bowler or both. This ball IMHO is the best ball Hammer has ever made. The review that "Smoove" gave should be removed and or ignored. You cannot go wrong with this ball. I love it! The ball is s a surprise because Hammer has used the gas mask core in the past and the results were less than spectacular. This reactive cover is the perfect match...I do not recommend polishing the widow. Some folks have added polish with good results. It just depends on your house conditions, I suppose.

Does not finish, does not finish, does not finish! This ball was so hyped that I went and got one for my wife. It was advertised to really compliment her shot and arsenal on med-heavy oil. NOT! This thing, regardless of sanding, would start a turn to the pocket then just lay there and smell, never finishing. Finally after resanding it, she just gave up. We gave it to my father in-law, who throws a straight ball and he seems to love it, so maybe that's the secret. Don't waste your $ on this thing! Find an X-Factor Vertigo instead! <sc

Wow, I just got back into bowling somewhat recently and decided to upgrade my 10 year old ball that I havent thrown in at least 5 years anyways today with this Black Widow. OMG, I'm really speechless. I felt in total control with this ball, it is very forgiving and watch out pins. I love the angle of entry this ball has. It is very predictable. I'm not a cranker, however I could not help but crank this thing a few times and a few strikes it hit so hard that 2 of the pins hit the back wall and flung forward. I do not have a fast ball speed either btw. This ball is scary. After the first warm up game to get use to it I followed it with a 186 and a 200 game. I had not broken 140 since my return to bowling with house balls. Great starting point and I will be back again tonight to throw this thing some more!!!!!! I highly recommend this ball ESPECIALLY for the money! Really feels like the old hammers to me.

First off I used this ball on a 39 foot wet/dry medium oil house shot. This ball basically lets me do whatever i want to with it. I can move extremely deep where I am comfortable playing because i have a slower ball speed and the ball recovers extremely well. Unless I make an error in my release the ball has a very consistent reaction. Even as the lanes begin to carry down this ball still keeps its carry and strong hitting power. This is the first hammer ball I have ever drilled and is one of the best balls i have ever thrown. I look foward to drilling more hammer equipment real soon.<scri

I stopped bowling in the mid - 90's with about a 210 average. I went bowling with a friend and realized how much I still love this darn game, so I went out and got a Bully. That was a while ago, and since I don't like balls that hook out of the house, that was a mistake. But it's a whole new game these days. Anyway, I'm a left handed tweener. My PAP is 5 1/2 over and 1/2 up. The ball is drilled 4 X 4 and I love it on synthetic lanes, but not so much on wood. It hooks too early on wood and I have to play too deep for my liking. I prefer a down and in shot, but I can handle a deep shot if I need to. The Toxic hits very hard, and if you're wondering, my first outing with the ball was 219, 187, 199, 278. I'm carrying a solid 210 now so that's not too bad. I like the way this ball carries the 7 for me cuz the Bully used to kill me in that area. Also, tight hits carry the 6 pin about 80% of the time cuz it's not entering the 1-2 at an insane angle, another plus in my book. The light hits usu

This ball is perfect. It is exactly what I was looking for in a new ball. This ball just keeps reving up and slides, and just explodes back to the pocket. You have to see this ball in action to believe it. I shot a 278 my 2nd game and a 300 my 6th game with this ball. It is amazing. It carrys extremely well. It especially carries stuff on the left hand side. I would reccomend this ball to anyone looking for a late hooking ball with a lot of backend. This is my first Hammer ball and I'm looking forward to buying more if this is the kind of product they produce. This ball is hard to keep in good condition because it soaks up the soil so quickly. I clean it everytime I use it and have it desaturated every month or so and it stays ok. If you get lazy and don't take care of it, the performance of the ball will suffer.
