(203 reviews) Write a Review
The Hammer Black Widow has been designed to give the bowler more length and more angle at the breakpoint than any Hammer ball to date. The Black Widow features the Gas Mask core with added flip block and Hammer's new Violent Reactive coverstock to produce excellent length, strong backend and enhanced drilling versatility for a variety of bowling styles. The Engine: The Black Widow features the asymmetric Gas Mask core design with added flip block providing a High Mass Bias rating of .014. By desigining the core shape to be a High Mass Bias ball, the Black Widow will produce strong hook motion with aggressive backend. The Tiires: Hammer's Violent Reactive coverstock will give the bowler more length and stronger move on the backend. Combining the Gas Mask core shape with added flip block and the Violent Reactive coverstock produces a strong and aggressive movement at the breakpoint. Featuring the High Mass Bias Gas Mask core with flip block and Violent Reactive coverstock, the Black Widow goes long and attacks violently on the backend. There's no lane condition out there that's safe. 16# 15# 14# 13# 12# RG DIFF RG DIFF RG DIFF RG DIFF RG DIFF 2.51 .049 2.50 .060 2.49 .057 2.53 .055 2.60 .039 Mass Bias Rating High

This ball is great, I use it all the time, especially when I am all alone. I suggest you buy this ball, and use it the way I use it. This is one of the greatest balls in the market. If you like to do what i do with the ball, you will not regret getting this ball that is for sure. It is one ugly ball, but you'll find out quickly why that isn't importat. It's just so great, I mean looking at the ball now turns me on, and makes me want to go bowling, if you know what i mean.

No matter how great the ball is it still depends on how you roll the ball... the ball is just another factor on how you upgrade your self.. it should be drilled upon your style.. try to get some advise to old bowlers.. focus on what you are doing, remember your strike zone.. This has been said by many.. and it's true.. but totally when i used this ball it always upgrade my score and confidence to play , I am excited every night league to put it out and roll it on the lane, it seems that everything has forgotten when it hits the pocket.. what more I ask for... hopefully to get one more spare of this when I got money.. :)

Great ball Im buying a 2nd one soon before it goes away. So after my 1st one is done for sure ill have another one ready. Make sure to clean this ball right after you bowl dont let the oil get into the pores of the ball. I do this and use Ebonite Abralon Sanding Pad depending on the lanes and I have never had any trouble haveing this ball hook like it did out of the box close to 120 game with this ball and still hooks a ton. Hit HARD every game every Throw. You will throw alot of higher 200 games with this ball even if you miss your mark you got a few boards to play with very nice ball from Hammer

Two leagues a week and usually a third night for fun with friends. I made the decision to purchase this ball to roll in the New Year. What a ball. I read tons of reviews, did my homework, and consulted my pro-shop. I am extremely happy with my decision. I have read several reviews here regarding how the ball "dies" with use. I regularly clean my ball with acetone after bowling. It is important that you take care of this ball; it does track up quickly...devouring the lanes will have that effect. You cannot wait until you are getting your stuff to go bowling to decide to clean or maintain your ball. This has to be done immediately post game. That being said...I did notice about 100+ games in that I wasn't getting the crush I desired so I had it sanded to a 2000 finish. It was even better than when I took it out of the box. I just started the first of my two summer leagues last night with a 695 and look forward to continue throwing my deadly deadly widow.

way too overpriced for the ammount of games it lasted. but very good out of the box. i had some of my best games with it. i had a 264-245-267 tournament with it and won first place but it just didnt last as long as i thought it would. 60 games and poof..... it left me. im really hoping that it was just a defect in the ball because for the price that pro shops are asking, it was not worth it. iv switched over to brunswick in hope for a better deal. i had also heard that it was a very easy ball to rev and it was great is heavy oil... but seriously i had a tournament with a 42 foot length for the lanes and i had to ajust about 10 boards and was almost shooting straight without hook....no matter how many revs i put on it.

Fantastic ball - just make sure your driller knows his/her stuff. I am a High Roller and the ball had been drilled for Stroker. I really didnt realise until someone (another league) bowler looked and the markings and offered some advise to have the drilling checked. But aside from that I have bowled 4 200+ games and my average is only 158. That is 4 200+ games out of 20 games. I am really keen to see to the new Pearl version now as my spare. If anyone has seen it please get a review on here ASAP. Should anyone have any extra to add I would love to here about the magical Black Widow.

This ball hits so hard. Right from the box I shot 288-266-225 779 series. This ball is just so great and versitile for anyone. You get so much carrydown and just a great ball. You can miss your mark by four boards and still get a great reaction from the ball. I would recommended everyone to purchase this ball. Like the old saying "Nothing Hits Harder Than an Hammer". This is great ball for any lane condition and any lane surface. I should had an invested in this ball much earlier. I have change my mond from Storm,Coulmbia,Brunswick, and Ebonite Hammer is the real deal.

Awesome Ball! This ball goes long and then seeks out the five pin like a missle! Don't listen to anyone who tells you this ball or any other ball is "dead" after so many games. Take it to the pro shop and have it "baked". They put the ball in a machine that heats the ball to approximately 140degrees or so, and the oil in the ball will ooze out. 50-80 games is probably about when this needs done. Hook Again or revivor may also work. What happens is the oil pushes the part of the coverstock that grips the lane deeper below the surface and the oil is now close to the surface, not allowing the ball to hook. Try it!

Hate to disagree with you Kid, but on this one, couch is dead on. I loved my widdow out of the box, but around that 40 - 50 game mark it just died, I cleaned the ball after EVERY set with ebonite cleaner without fail. I talked with a rep at Ebonite whos only suggestion was to soak the ball in hot water. After several soakings and a resurfaceing of the ball, it was ok for a couple sets then back to total over under. Shame too i really liked how the widdow reacted. bought a Angular one, and didnt have any of the same problems i did with the widdow. This isnt the first time ive had problems with Hammers equipment, I owned a Diesel and one of the blades (cant remember which one) and both balls did the same exact thing. No matter what I tried with the advice of Ebonite they were just dead. Kinda weird really since Ebonite owns Hammer and I own 3 ebonite balls and have never had this happen to one of their balls.<scri

The ball is insane out of the box and it hooks really hard, after long term use and lots of medium-heavy patterns it dies very fast. it has very very slow reaction time meaning its terrible with speed and low rev rate. good at low speed high rev rate after a few games but after a while you could put say 500-600 revs on the ball and it will move say 2.5 boards. I also had a side weight drilled when I got the ball. I had it polished out of the box. heres the thing with this ball, The black widow is insane out of the box for around 20-30 games after that it dies completly! I can rev the ball to around 350-400 and it goes NOWHERE.

THIS BALL IS AMAZING I HAD IT DRILLED WITH THE PIN ABOVE MY RING FINGER AND THE CG KICKED OUT ABOUT 1 1/2 INCHES TO 2 INCHES AND OT HAS A WEIGHT HOLE THIS DRILLING IS NOT TO MAKE IT ROLL EARLY THIS DRILLING MAKES IT GET THRU THE HEADS AND I MEAN EXPLODE ON THE BACKEND. THE BALL MAKES A HUGE TURN TOWARDS THE POCKET AND ON BURIED HITS OR HIGH HITS IT CARRIES THE 4 PIN OR THE NINE AND ON LIGHT IT JUST BLISTERS THE RACK AND IT ONLY HAS LEFT ME ONE RINGING TEN(THE MESSENGER MISSED) WITH THIS BALL HAS SO MANY MESSENGERS FLYING ACROSS THE DECK AND KEEPS THE PINS LOW EVERYONE SHOULD HAVE THIS IT EVEN HITS HARDER THAN THE NO MERCY WHICH I ALSO HAVE.<
