For the first time in my career, I am absolutely amazed by the renewed confidence that a bowling ball can bring. Drilled up the #1 recommended drilling (2 inch pin out). Bowled in 4 houses in 3 days, statring on a house shot. Carried extremely well on the burned up shot left the next day after league. Very clean even through the semi-dry heads. Next day, in the first sanctioned league game with the ball, shot 288. Absolutely amazing. Anyone with an open spot in the bag for a medium to heavy oiled ball needs to consider the one. If you don't have an open spot in the bag, make one, because Ebonite has created a monster. Put the other balls in the closet: this baby is the one

This is the ball I've been looking for (forever). Two different Pro Shop owners recommended trying this ball after they saw me with my old Chaos on different nights. The Chaos worked great from the outside (if you gave it time) -- strong midlane, kept coming, and hit like a truck. But I always had to be careful with it. So they both said try The One. Danggggggggg. It is what I have always needed. Immediately, I went from 13 to 16 strikes per set........... to 20 to 23. Carry is amazing. I can swing it and destroys the racks. The surface on this ball seems to be just right to last (my Hawg died out in 3 sets). Where can I trade in my other 12 balls for one more One?

This ball is amazing. Simply put, it is the One, if i can shoot 840 with a ball, then it must be pretty good. Hits hard, but deflects even better, producing great carry. The best way for me to put it is its reaction is "weird". It is a good weird, but weird in the sense that it is unlike anything else i have ever thrown. Out of the box it was great, then it milded out for a couple sets, then once some oil soaked into the cover, big numbers went up. Only times where this ball doesnt line up marveously is extreme oil, or when there is hardly any oil up front. This ball must get through the heads or it can and will roll out. Andif your like me, and cant always get it to pick up on oil, especially oily backends because your little left handed wimp like me who likes to play the g and cant get off it, then you will probably need at least the green pad or some clean and dull, or maybe put it in the bag.

Just as most have said, this is a great ball, ONCE you tweak the coverstock. 4000 polished just makes it too damn squirty. I have this laid out with their #1 drilling and threw 6 games on med oil wood house after a 5 man league bowled earlier that night. Two things killed me, carrydown and burnt up shot. Still, OOB condition I was still able to swing from 20ish to 8-9-10 and the ball would come back HARD. I need to break out the 1200 or 1500 grit sandpaper and slightly re-do the coverstock. Other's that I've seen use this ball say once you've bowled a bit with it or tweak the coverstock it calms down and plays nice. You can get deep with this and I plan on doing that. This is my first Ebonite orb so I'll update this review once I've played with the coverstock and tried a few other league and sport\PBA shots. 1/29/2006 Update. Refinished the ball with 1000 grit wet sand, no polish. NOT A GOOD IDEA. Considering the shot was already gone, the ball read the lane at the arrows and hoo

I bought this ball when I switched to 14 lbs due to elbow pain. I needed a ball that would get some length and hook. If I stayed at 15 lbs I would not have bought this ball I figured it hooked to much for me, but with 14 lbs I can throw the ball a little harder and I figured why not get the best ball on the market. I got it drilled with the pin above my ring and the cg kicked out into the strong position so I could get a long and strong reaction. The ball rolled so smooth and just carried the rack almost every shot. First set out I shot 590, second set I shot 660, and my third set I shot 762 with a 300. Now that is my 2nd 300 shot my first in march of 05. So for me to bring out a new ball at 14 lbs and shoot 300 that was huge for me. Love this ball and Ebonite keep making great balls.

must buy this ball if you want to score real well I now have 2 ones and one drilled up long and strong the other is stacked right down the right side for max hook I love this ball and would recommend everyone buy one ebonite has outdone thereselves here with this one way to go ebonite. I give this ball to a friend and he throws the ball farley hard and puts a good amount of revs on the ball and 3 days later he is out buying one and now I have trouble trying to keep him out of my stuff.

I'm kind of frustrated with this ball right now, forced me to lower my previous rating a bit. I'm releasing the ball great and I love the reaction, but I am getting more unexplainable nine counts with this ball than anything I've ever seen. I hit pocket on eleven balls and left eight nine counts. I'm trying to work on my hand position see what I can figure out. I'll update again when I figure anything out. I've just about given up on mine. I can't get any carry so its just sitting at home. When bowling on a house shot, I have greater area with this ball than anything I've ever thrown. It is a very versatile ball-on my normal house shot, I can play across the sixth arrow or up the third arrow. Dont get this ball unless youre one hundred percent positive that this is what you want...any doubts at all...turn to another ball.

This is another great ball from Ebonite. It is very forgiving on the lanes. The hit on the backend is purely awesome. The ball is very controllable to throw. I shot a 300 with mine a week ago in a Holiday Doubles Tournament. This ball opened up my game . This ball is really aggressive on the backend. This is a very good product. This ball is very controllable on most lanes conditions. The ball rolled excellant. This ball can be an all round ball that anyone can use to enhance their game and roll with the big boys. The ball does a great job of carrying the light hits. If you want to improve your game buy this ball and you can't go wrong. Thanks Ebonite for another great product.

A friend of mine let me borrow this and I shot a tournament with it. I was able to play straight up at first a move left and still carry a 'not so great' shot. The pattern was set-up to extend to 40 ft, with about 105 units on the heads and 30 on the buff line. Granted I am not a big Ebonite fan this ball is really something. This ball hooks great when you need it to. I could really trust it to come back if I swung it wide. However, like with all new equipment, if I tugged it, it would slice right through the nose.

OVERALL THIS BALL IN MY OPINION, IS ONE THAT WILL EXPLOIT YOU WEAKNESS BUT AT THE SAME TIME ENHANCE THEM TOO. AT LEAST FOR ME THE BALL WAS SENSATIVE TO WEAK HAND POSTIONS, BUT WHEN THROWN FIRM, AND W/ SOME FINGER, THE BALL ROLLED EXCELLENT! THIS IS AN ALL AROUND BALL, THAT ANYONE CAN USE. PLEASE BE AWARE OF THE LABLE ON THE BALL ITSELF, YOU MUST BE CAREFUL AS TO HOW YOU DRILL IT UNLESS YOUR RON HICKLAND OR ANYONE FROM EBONITE. PLEASE MAKE SURE THAT YOUR BALL DRILLER HAS THROWN AT LEAST 2 OF THESE HIMSELF, THIS IS A VERY DIFFRENT BALL TO DRILL. THE ONE=300=SUCCESS

There's nothing bad to say about The One. I had alot of problems with it when I first bought the ball. It was great for a couple sets, then it would constantly roll out. I held off on writing a review because I knew the ball was great from those first sets. Put it on the ball spinner with the energizer plus white pad then polish and it's perfect again. The coverstock soaks up so much oil that if you have multiple people bowling on the lanes with it the shot just completely breaks down after 1-1/2 to 2 games. Can really notice when moving pairs in tourneys. Just don't let this ball get dirty. If you like it dull, cool, but keep that coverstock clean because that biotch gets oil logged and completely loses all of the reaction. Great ball, can't wait for the next one (pun intended)<
