I had this ball for over three years before writing this review and I offically retired it today. I recently started throwing this ball in practice and it cracked right around the circumfence on the first ball I threw today. I figured it was about time I reviewed it. Drilled right hand two and a half inch pin located at three o'clock. The ball is an X out for mismarked psa. Best series was 713 (I was a 180 bowler at the time). I must have have well over 200 games on this ball. Resurfaced twice (house had 40 year old wood lanes at the time) and served me very well over it's life. This ball gets though the mids very well and had a good snap to the pocket. It did lose some of it's snap as time went on. Very good ball for someone who plays a tight inside line. Miss too far outside and start praying for a dry spot. Overall, I did like this ball...alot. I will miss it. R.I.P. Shooter. Thanks Ebonite for many good games.<scri

This was my first Ebonite ball and I did not know what to expect. Ebonite/Hammer have been known for their extremely strong cores. The TPC Shooter's core was one of their most aggressive cores that Ebonite made at that time. With their low RG, 2.50 and there high differential, .058, I expected a SD-73 type reaction. For those of you not familar with the SD-73 from Roto-Grip, the core-cover match up was designed to get down the lane fairly far and then have a huge flip like reaction at the breakpoint. The Shooter did just that flip and carry. The only difference with the Shooter and the SD-73 was that the SD-73 was readable while the Shooter was not. After throwing the Shooter on various conditions, mostly medium house shots, the Shooter was unpredictable and I could not tell where or when it was going to hook. The TPC Shooter is a great ball to use on house shots when cranking it to the dry boards. The Shooter goes down too long in fresh oil so I would advise not to swing it

bought this ball in hopes for it too be a good medium to light oil ball. drilled the ball with the drilling #1 from ebonites drilling sheet And was meant too hook on dryer backends, shorter conditions. Yes the ball did hook in medium to light oil and it surprised me when i threw it on a 41 feet condition. It hooked 10 boards! I could even flat out the ball and add more speed on the ball so it could be used as a spare ball also. Nearly shot a 300 with this ball but in the 9th a flush hit and it left a 7-pin. Anyways overall its a great all condition ball for me at least.

I used the factory finish on medium oily lanes with some carry down and it sucked big time. Skid, skid skid then..nothing. Had the ball driled for length and back end. Got the length, but no back end. I went into the pro shop where I had the ball drilled and wanted a different layout. Owner convinced me to try the grey scotch brite first before re-drilling. Glad I listened. Ball now hits like a mack truck on medium oil and I can play in or out of the oil with equal success. Don't give up on this ball if you don't like the reaction you're getting. Ball was made to be adjusted and adjusts well to surface changes. Try different grids to achive the reaction you like and you'll love this ball.

I love this ball but i do have a problem with it, i asked for it to hook on heavy oil because the house that i was going to throw it on oils there lanes alot but if they change there patterns at all i have a problem with this ball because it pulls aot into the head pin. No its not me, i know how to adjust but the way i swing my arm isnt very consistant for throwing the ball deep or throwing the ball at all. I cant really move more to the left because i would be in the ball return (lol), and its a long way till i can switch to my back up ball because its a blue pearl hammer!! Other then that this ball hits hard and when theres oil hits perfect and gets alot of mix. This is a great ball for a tournament shot where its actually oiled!<scri

I've thrown this ball for a little over 5 months, and the ball has been good all the way through. on drier lanes i can swing it out, and on oilier lanes i can play more direct. regardless of the lane conditions i get a constant reaction out of the ball. i bought the ball looking for something for drier lanes, but i have found that it plays well on all lane conditions, provided you adjust to the lane conditions. the ball is very forgiving and carries quite well. there is nothing that i dislike about this ball, the ball is flawless.

It is very predictable in medium to light oil and it hits the 10 pins down so hard when it hits the pocket but when u play in a dry lane it break so early until it hit pin 7 and u have to either push it out or play cross lane. i like this ball very much because it increaces my average and help me to win a few competition !! so if you are searching for a medium oil ball and this is the right ball for u it is worth it although it is quite expensive. Try IT !!!!!!!!

16 lb. Shooter (Original release-light purple cover) pin out 2.5 top unknown Layout: 5 1/2 x 6 Pin under middle finger, label kicked negative about 1/2 inch. PSA in weak position, thumb neg. quadrant. Middle finger tapped deeper to bring side weight to flat. Less than 1/4 oz. thumb. Awesome control ball! Controllable, good hit for a not-so-defined backend move. First used it on wood lanes, house shot. 38 feet, 10 to 10 wall. I was able to get inside the oil line and create good area. Not the best idea to wing it right-it doesn't come back hard enough to swish pins. However, held in it will hit with Mack Truck-like authority. Used it next on tournament shot-synthetics, 40 feet, OB outside 10. Couldn't use it early...too high of volume to get any roll. Would skid too much and hit pocket weakly if at all...Tried to set it short, and it was just too squirrely. After the track got defined (after about 10 bakers games) I could stay inside the track and get grea

I just had the ball drilled up during my first game so I didn't use it until the start of the second game. Couldn't put it down after that. Crushed the pocket sending the pins straight back. Great pin action. This has to be one of the hardest hitting balls I have seen in a while. This is my first Ebonite ball so I am not sure how quickly it will track out. I have always used Storm, Hammer and Columbia. This ball has alot of skid, roll, flip and snap. I can not say enough about the hitting power of this ball. TOTALLY AWESOME.

quality ball cant fault it so far everything about it, hitting power shape controllability. i have played 15 games with it and averaged 233 which says it all for the ball it is just very versatile and can be played on most conditions. overall a great ball. canty say enough about it. i have also found that weather you are playing down the boards or crossing alot of boards it still carries i can play a variety of shots and carry from all. ireally have nothing to say but good things abvout this ball maybe in time some may occur but at the moment the future is bright. Now i have more games with this ball i have found it has a very short life. also scrathes Very easily

Has a very nice roll and likes a lot of revs. Don't think it would suit a fast bowler unless the conditions were very dry with a very early breaking point on the lane. Bowling directly at the pocket can cause you to leave a lot of 10pins as the ball breaks very late. But throwing a very wide shot slightly slower with a lot of revs through the dry part of the lane creates an amazing backend snap with an awsome pin reaction! I will post another review when I've found the best condition for this ball. Think it has great potential.

for the shooter is nice ball for high rpm player who generate a lot of rev nice flip on backend better than the warrior(too crack) if you look for the long skid big snap on the backend and hit like a bomber this is totally for that but if you doesn,t like spider this ball is a bit same tracking .and on the heavy oil this ball will not good coz of difficult to control if you want something for play on oilly Apex sereis is correct shooter is nice for starter ball then adjust from this but i absolutely love this ball for hitting i refer this than Apex Addiction coz i love polish ball

Really good ball for medium oil. I bowling for 30 games, averaging 253.88 with this ball(this is the highest i've ever averaged, i'm only 14...lol). Spectators were amazed with this ball. This ball was strong enough to kick out the 10 pins. Stronger coverstock than the original Warrior since this is a solid reactive rather than a pearlized one. The colors look like something from the 70's but overall it's great ball. I would recommend this ball for medium rev players on dry-medium oil who know what they're doing. This ball can be unpredictable at times, so make sure youre in complete control of it.
