I used to use this ball so I figured I would give it a review. I would use this ball when my more aggressive equipment, at the time one of the Apex's would be too much ball for the lanes. I like that I can throw this ball nice and hard and it will still hook hard. This ball like most of my Ebonite balls carrys light hits well, but doesn't carry the high hits as well, I'm beginning to think it may be me not the ball however. This ball is for medium to light oil conditions. I like to start this ball at 20 or maybe a little bit left and let it get out to like 3 or 2. I tryed playing inside with this ball, and it just doesn't turn the corner very well. So I suggest this ball for light conditions where you can throw the ball nice and hard and to the outside.

Bought this ball used for $20. The span was huge at 5.5 inches and had thumb plugged and re-drilled for my 4 inch span. The ball could be skiddish at times and leave too many wash outs or ball would go too long and leave lots of 10 pins. This ball would recover very well if thrown too far out and you would have to be exact if playing the inside oil. This ball did nothing on fresh oil. I would recommend it for lighter oil conditions. Maybe the reason the ball was not good for me was the partial redrilling.

I got a chance to roll this ball at Ebonite's demo day last month. I was impressed at the reaction of this ball. I received it as a gift and rolled it for the first time yesterday. This ball took out pins that should have remained standing! Times where the ball ran brook it still carried. Very smooth angle of entry to the pocket with good carry. I roll at a slower ball speed but that didn't matter. It didn't change the reaction of the ball one bit. I threw it out a little too far a few times and it still found it's way back to the pocket. I would highly recommend this ball.

This ball is very good ball for any price.. The ball seems to get down the lane without any trouble and shifts to another gear when it gets to the backend.. If there is any pins left after it hits the pocket please contact the front desk because the pinsetter has to be offset. Play the ball out to 15, and let it do the rest.. Please insert 9 volt battery in your remote control because everything after that is like clock work.. This ball is designed for bowlers who have strong presonality, and attitude, and for those who just don't give a care.. Update - I have been using this ball more and more, and this ball is becomming more and more aggressive.. The ball is transferring into the Sanded Savage.. Came up with an idea, and desided to change the grit to 1000, and polish the ball.. This ball became more aggressive.. Probably will have this ball resurfaced, and see if it will help..

Buy one of these things because you will not be dissapointed at all. I love a ball that gives me options and is receptive to different hand positions and this ball does that extremely well. The pearl Savage is a must have for my bag, and it will stay there for some time!! I have not tried much of the other Ebonite mid line balls yet, but this ball has convinced me to drill up a couple more of them. With a midline this darn good, why bother drilling anything expensive?? Save yourself the money and go win yourself more. Great job Ebonite!!!<scrip

This was another ball that came to us with our Striking Effects program. This Savage is made for the drier lane conditions, and that is the type of shot it was tested on. This ball was laid out for one of our shop bowlers. The pin was above his ring finger and the CG was swung out. A 5" by 4" layout. The shot was light oil from gutter to gutter, with fresh backends. The Savage Pearl looks like the original Purple Excalibur with the pop it makes on the backend. The shop guy was standing 25 put it down on 17 and sending it to around 3. This ball was booming back and exploding the pocket. As the night went on, he was able to move a little deeper and it was still able to recover and rip the racks. If you like the Savage Solid, make sure you think about this ball. The Savage Pearl will give you a great dry lane ball.
