The core of the most devastating ball of its time is back with a vengeance. The medium RG Turbo/X core has been retooled for today's tighter lane conditions by adding a flare-increasing domed cap. And by adding a 1,200-grit-sanded Big Wheel™ reactive resin coverstock, Ebonite creates a ball that plays best on inside angles and in medium to heavy oil. Savage. The name says it all!

Maybe I am just spoiled from the old Faball Hammers. When they hit the pocket, everything was low and straight back. This ball did not have that. This ball was suppose to be a big hooker, but it was not for me. It seemed to go too long, because I was leaving a lot of 10 pins. I just do not have any luck with Ebonite Equipment (which makes me leary with any of the companies they own). I will have to try this ball on dryer lanes to see how it handles that. xxxxxx xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx xxxxxxxxx x x x x x x x x x x x x xx x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x

I really am not a big fan of this ball. I am finding that this ball does not have a very predictable hook. I also feel that this ball feels awkward to throw. The weight block in the ball makes it feel extra heavy and the ball does not rev up very easily. I think it is mostly that this ball does not complement my style very well. I have tried sanding it and polishing it, but I am still not happy with the results. I would recommend this ball as a try it first basis. Maybe it wil suit your style better.

Excellant ball! I shot a 300 in practice with this ball. Seems to carry the 10 pin very good. Allways some pin flying aroud reeking havoc. Would like to find another one and polish it for lighter conditions. Its not a particle ball so I would think it should hold up well. Excellant ball! I shot a 300 in practice with this ball. funny thing happened to me with this ball. i bought this ball for $60can. and drilled for a nuteral reaction. turns out the ball had length but too much length. and when the ball hit i left an enourmous amount of 7 pins (im a lefty). i found a lane condition that was just perfect for this polished savage. it was a medium-dry condition on wood. the ball was actually reacting well and then hit was better. but once it hit alot of oil it would only grab 2 boards and die in the backend. (sanded) sanded this ball to a 400 grit to release the beast within. amazing hook! able to play inside 4th arrow and throw it out to 5th board and it would come back like a champ each time!

my friend Rod bought this ball about a month ago he is just learning to throw a hook and asked me to check out the ball and see what i thought so i have put about 16 games on the ball and it seems that the first game or 2 are usually the best you'll get from it on any given day unless they just finished oiling the lanes this thing hooks so intensely that i literally find myself bowling for the gutter and hope that it has enough length to get there medium oil just doesn't seem enough it hooks back so hard it is a brooklyn shot every time i have tried different lines and throwing styles and unless it is flooded i'm always to the left of the head pin i have even laid off the revs and it just wants to go left in the worst way but it hits with authority no matter what side you come in on and i have only managed 1 split with it it is good for seven pins cosistantly but you better have a spare ball for getting to the right side i have only bowled in the one house with it so i will have more o

I currently have the ball finished w/ Ebonite's Matte Polish. It is drilled leverage (~45 degree angle, ~4" pin from PAP). This gives the ball a very strong move to the pocket (not quite a skid/flip). On fresh oil, ball can be a little hard to control, but once the lanes begin to breakdown, I am able to move left and hit the pocket with very little effort. Fantastic ball for the price. ebonite savage, ebonite savage, ebonite savage, ebonite savage, ebonite savage, ebonite savage, ebonite savage, ebonite savage, ebonite savage, ebonite savage, ebonite savage, ebonite savage, ebonite savage

Great ball for medium to heavy oil, in my experience best to play from 1st to 2nd arrow (5th to 8th board), very forgiving ball if you miss by a few boards to the outside. Goods pin mix even if you do not hit the bucket. My absolute favourite ball since I made my first 300 with this ball. Not very good on dry lanes, as it reacts to early and you hardly will hit the 7 pin. Does not like too long heavy oil as, in my opinion, it needs enough development space before hitting the pins. I can recommend this ball!

Out of the box, the ball did what I wanted when I wanted it to. I am a lefty and I usually play a very deep line. With this ball I could use my typical line. No matter where I bowled, wood, syn., heavy oil, dry lanes, it did what I wanted it to. I moved to a heavy oil house and sanded the ball down with a red scotch bright, and it still was doing what i wanted to, go long, snap and hit hard. The only thing I wish was improved was that the ball would not get knicked up so bad. But overall the ball did what it was supposed to do for a great reasonable price.

This wa s the first ball I have ever owned. It was the sanded version. I must say that in the beginning, it was great. I even bowled a 258 with it when I still had a 50 handicap. However, as the season progressed, the ball lost it's edge so to say. I even used all the special cleaners that were suggested for it.I did good to get a 160 out of three games in a night. I have recently purchased a new ball made by a different comapany, and I love this new ball. I am now averaging just after 2 weeks of the new ball 180+ and have had many games in the 200+ range. Let's just hope that this ball stays alive for me. I only see bright things in the future.

This Ball is great for third game when the lanes are dry hits ok and carries well. Able to get the ball through dry heads and it dosnet loose any energy when it gets on the back end, used to have a turbo X when it first came out thats why i bought this ball very consistant doesnt over react, great ball for the cheap price if you have dry lanes and are lokking for a cheap ball this is the one to go with might want to get the pearilized one so you dont have to mess with the cover

I hate writing this 100 words thing but I'll try. Good agression for strokers. Last second snap. Kind of my showboating ball, lol. It's a life saver. It's the heavy oil answer for my game. Then again I only have the Savage, Predator, Stinger, Messenger, and Silencer. It's an average picker upper too. so yep. a hundred words eh? don't keep reading this. I'm just trying to post this thing and it say that I have only 79 words. Oh no, well, what else can I say. I like the ball. It's good for heavy oil. It picked my average up about 10 pins. yup

The Ebonite Savage is a very good bowling ball, which makes winning a true possibility. At the beginning the sanded state made it uncontrollable. Though a nice pocket hit turned pins almost into dust !!! Through time the Savage becomes less aggressive, but more controllable. Average goes up thirty pins. At the time you're used to it, the Savage becomes a great tournament ball. It is too slow for fast lane conditions, so you should have at least an additional (polished) ball. Most of the time the Savage grips on the lanes like no other bowling balls do. That puts you in a great advantage while competing with your rivals.

I am a 15 year old bowler with little below average revs and slow to medium ball speed. I just started bowling a few years ago and learned to throw a hook last year and this ball was a great starter (next to my 10 lb target zone). On my first shot with it I threw a line like I would with my 10 lb. target zone and whatdaya know, crosses all the way over and takes out the 7. But I came to realize that this wasn't the ball for my league conditions. They are 10 x 10 flooded in the middle on wood lanes. This ball wasn't enough on these lanes. I can throw the same shot two times in a row on these lanes, one will roll out the other will go brooklyn. I also bowl at a different alley with synthetics and a medium oil pattern. This is where the ball shined. I would stand on third dot and toss it out to the gutter to see a nice smooth arc back to the pocket. Even though this ball brought my average from 106 to 152 in a year, I am not totally happy with it because much of this increase came from my

Switched from A Black U-dot to this ball. It was a big jump in ball surfaces and my overall average jumped 19 pins across the board. Easily the best ball for the price, even with the newer model balls coming out. Interested to see what possible improvements can be made to this ball. Had a friend who was just getting into bowling buy one as well after seeing the results I had. His shot is considerably different, throwing a slower, less hooking ball. Even so, he mirrored my success. A league mate switched from a Matrix and his average finished 7 pins higher. In my experience, A VERY CONSISTANT BALL. (12-27-04) I hadn’t updated this in some time, so I though it was overdue. I still carry this ball in my bag but on the conditions I normally play on, it rarely sees daylight. I can use it when I play a shot across the middle of the lane. My across the middle shot is typically third in my rotation of finding a line. This ball has enough back-end on it to counter any oil push-down late in

This is a very good all around ball. i do not prefer sanded or matte finidhes so i polished this ball. Since i polished it the ball has become much more versitle. I use mine on mostly on medium lanes and i play very deep with it. Also has good hitting power with a very predictable snap. This is probably the best ball in the cat series to date. I am highly anticipating the release of the new peral version being released in july to be just as good if not better. This is one of those balls that you will always find a use for. Also is a great ball just for the price.

I just love this ball... Good ball for inside and outside shots, Can even pick up the 10 pin with it if you keep the speed up :-) After about 100 games it loses its Hook cause it takes up alot of oil.. may need to Redull it, if you bowl with a dull Savage :-) I own a Messanger, Monster, Skull ball for 10-pin, and This, and this is By FAR the best ball I have. Compared this with a Predator, and This ball hooks about the same, and hits Much harder, Leaves the 10-pin much less too. I Love My Savage :-)

drilling #5 from ebonite which is: pin below the ring finger in a 10:30 direction from the cg i use this ball on the sport condition the most. this ball goes down then gives a strong break-point at about 40 feet down the lane and then follows with a strong arcing into the packet. this ball can give you the most needed "area" on a tight shot. not only will this ball work great on a sport condition it will work great on the normal house shot too. also the ball is good for carry-down or when polished the later shifts if you play deep on the lane. *my style has the following, avg speed (15-17.5 mph), high track, medium to high rpm (300-375+ rpm) and also a 45 degree axis tilt

The term KNOCK OUT should be used when referring to this ball. The backend is just nasty, and if hit just right everybody in the alley will feel the anger. It feels like a bomb going off when hitting the pocket, and the pins are just scattered everywhere. The carry is good under medium oil - heavy oil condition, but as the lane dries you will have to work alittle harder.. You don't have to worry about the ball going off the lane because I don't think it can. The 10 pin might be the only problem with this ball, but thats it..

Dont you just hate thoese over flooded lanes, what are they paying the guy that runs the oil machine, hmm well if you want a ball add a very good price that will create a Sharp hook under thoese conditions Go out and buy The Savage, not big on control but very big on making strikes, you get a big field of error, it will strike both on the left and the right and only very rarely leave nasty spares, ask your pro to drill it with the most agressive settings and then go make minimum 7 strikes a frame

Well, I drilled this ball up a couple of weeks ago and have been using it on and off. The ball is laid out with the pin 5" from my PAP and the cg at 4 1/2" from my PAP. I left the ball out of the box. I have used it on a couple of very different lane conditions, and find this ball to be fairly easy to adjust to the lane conditions. On a more flat condition, I found the Savage to be more smooth, then our typical walled up house shot. With the flat shot, I was able to play more direct and have a smoother reaction in the backend. I think that any bowler looking for something to get down the lane on medium oil, and still have the energy to get around the corner, than check out this ball. When I went to one of the trade shows in our area, Brian Pursel said this was a new version of the Turbo X. I think this ball fits exactly that. If you have any questions, please email me at Bill@buddiesproshop.com

This ball goes long and then has a strong move to the pocket. The ball I was testing had a little bit of polish on it for more length than out of the box finish. I through one shot out to the one board at about 45-50 feet and it still recovered and ripped the rack. Strong move off the dry. Ball hit well and recovered well from less than accurate shots. This one needs some oil in the mids to prevent it from checking up too quickly. Another good one in the cat series. This was my favorite one from the cat series that I tried.
