I bought this ball about Xmas time and I have to say it doesent act like a mid range price ball. When oil gets heavy this ball is great. The coverstock and low RG make it perfect for an controlable smooth arc. Or I have it drilled to finish hard at the end. My only complaints come with dry lanes. This ball also is difficult to maintain due to its STP coverstock. And for some odd reason this ball tracks up so darn quick. Oh well, now I have to shop for a dry lane ball... Anyone want to float me a loan? :)

This ball is an amazing step up from where I was - drilled for a nice back-end finish, its pretty explosive. I just got this ball recently (thanks to an excellent recommendation) and it performs admirably. In the time I've thrown it, I've left quite a few solid 8's & 9's, oddly enough - but the ball sends messengers on brooklyns like nothing I've ever seen. If I could hit that shot more consistently, I'd sure as heck throw it! Realistically, if you're looking for a high-end ball with a low-end price, this is top-quality - its got a beautiful roll to it.

The predator, is the first edition to the cat line that is using particle technology. This is a good step, making particle balls to a new market segment, the league bowler. I have bowled nothing short of exceptionally with this ball. When i first punched this one up, i decided to go with the long drilling and test the ball on some very fresh conditions. We have a 40,000$ phoniex lane machine in my house( the machine weights 400 pounds), we can ask for any pattern and i requested a pattern of oiled to 38 feet and buffed to 44feet. A very good pattern choice to test this ball. Now, i know that the Ebonite ball matrix chart said this is the most aggressive and shortest ball in the 2001-2002 line up, and it is recomended to bowlers with low revs and high speed, I only fit in one of those catagories. I'm 6'5 and have no problem generating speed and revs. This ball after a month and a half has meet all expectations. This is the first ball out of the bag. But the pattern in most my leagues is

drilled to go long and snap. Box finish, no weight hole. This ball is the truth. If your shot is burned out you must switch to something that will retain energy to get that carry, or you will leave allot of those 10 pins. Can play inside or up the boards with this one. Dry lanes make it a chore to throw this ball but you can do it with a smile on your face. Ebonite has done a great job with this low particle ball. Can be polished to go longer. haven't tried that yet. maybe with the next one I will.

Well, I drilled this ball a week ago, for heavy oil, thinking this was going to be a monster. I drilled it 4" by 4" With the pin under my ring finger. I left it in factory condition, and went out and threw it. I have bowled with this on both, wood and synthetics. I have used a variety of shots with this ball going up 10, or a small swing from 10 to 5, and inside around 20 to 10. This ball is sweet. I was thinking that this was going to hook early and hook a lot, but it is able to get through the heads really smooth and give you a controlled midlane reaction. I didn't notice any problems with hit with this ball throughout the different lines that I played. I like humming this ball up 10 and watching it explode the pocket. I was amazed at the messenger I was throwing, because the lanes were dryer than I thought this ball would be good for. Since it didn't burn up in the heads, it still had good hitting power when it made it to the pocket. If you like the Vortex 2, you will love

Just picked up this ball yesterday and had my pro drill it using the #3 Rev leverage drilling from the Ebonite Cat series instructions. This was also the suggestion from the Ebonite Rep. at a recent Demo Day. Bowled last night on synthetic lanes that have a tendency to get squirrely as the night progresses. While everyone else moved right, I got out the Predator and moved left into the oil. The ball picked up it's roll fairly early but had plenty of movement toward the pocket. Very impressed so far. I'll update this review as I throw it more.<s
