Ebonite Optyx Spider Bowling Ball

Just when you thought you had sen it all from Ebonite, along comes the new OPTYX Spider. It may look harmless, but this clear reactive resin ball strikes on light to medium oil with a hook that makes grown men shudder. With a sharper breakpoint angle and more overall hook potential than the OPTYX Formula 1, the new OPTYX Spider is the ball to pick up when you're ready to put some real bite back into your game.

I have bowled all my high series and high games with this ball. I can play outside first arrow which is where I love to play but only when the oil is fresh. I can also play 2nd, 3rd, and 4th arrow with this. Took to a tourny and it would not hook on medium-heavy. Just slid out. This is my go to ball on any local alley. You get her to the pocket and pins will fly. If you can find one of these for sale, and you are looking for a medium to light oil ball then i would recomend getting this one! Plus its a limited edition. muhahahaha

Topweight-unknown Pin-2, 2 1/2 inches Sufuce-factory finish Drill-pin just above the bridge line by 1/4 of an inch, cg on the right pinky finger knuckle, weight hole needed, the bomb right next to the thumb (about an 1/2 inch away) Lane Condtion #1-House shot that is flooded with snappy backend (mainly a lot of people through down and in) pattern goes to 38ft and buffed down to 42ft. Lane Condtion #1-Started out with medium grip pressure, and a stright wrist, and standing on the 25 board rolling the ball to the 13 board swing it to the 2 board and having the ball jump to the left at 30ft down the lane, having a very aggrsive rocket back to the pocket, not a bad reaction but sometimes when i over rev it a little it turns way way to the left. Secondly I started with medium grip pressure with a cranked wrist, standing at the 40 board, throwing to 20 board swing to the 5 board and a strong midlane read back to the pocket. <scrip

the drilling has the pin just to the right and below the ring finger and the cg is stacked along with the bomb. this ball gives a strong break point reaction. on fresh oil it is strong as long as there are dry outsides or backends but once there is carry-down the ball tends to lose the jump at the break point. once the lanes become dry you can use this ball more and more and your line will open up also. this ball is a great addition to the formula 1, gives stronger reaction than the original. *my style has the following, avg speed (15-17.5 mph), high track, medium to high rpm (300-375+ rpm) and also a 45 degree axis tilt

I threw this last night for the first time. I laid it out with the Pin and the CG at 5 inches from my axis, and the Bomb in the Strong location. I bowled with this ball on a first shift condition which I figured was going to be too much oil after ready the description of the ball, but with a little adjustment with my feet this ball worked well. I was able to change hand position and get the ball to do a variety of reactions. The Spider is laid out similiar to my Formula 1. The Formula 1 will hook earlier and give me a smoother reaction than my Spider. The Spider is clean through the fronts and midlane with a hard punch at the breakpoint. I also like the logo better than the racing pattern on the Formula 1. If you need a ball for medium/dry lanes this ball should do the trick. I am going to try it out in my normal second shift league when i have to go to my Afterburner in the 3rd game, I am going to pull this out. Sorry but I forgot to update my review. This ball w
