I used the rev leverage drill on it, so it would hook early. I tried different things with the surface and I left it at 1000 grit with light polish. It is sometimes hard to tell while watching the ball, but this ball reads the mids like no other. It does exactly what I wanted it to do. I usually throw it on league night in medium oil. The backends are always fresh and overhooking. When my Ace is to strong, and my triple xtreme reads too soon (it has an almost identical drill to my Triple Xtreme) I go to this. The last time I used it all night long I shot 268, 212, and 230. I got it for $135 last year, and I know that it is less than that now. So to sum it up, if you need a good ball for med oil, midlane reaction, and something to use when your other top of the line balls are too strong, use this.

I'm not going to say this is a bad ball. It just isn't for me. I throw the ball fast with a lot of revolutions. I'm not sure this ball was suited for my style. I had to slow my ball down a lot. It worked better then. But it was like I was either getting striked or splits so I'm feeling good about that. It leads to a bunch of scores between 140 and 160. I will continue to use it to see if I get better with it. Thank you for reading my review & good luck in the future.

Great ball. I used it both polished and dull and loved the reaction from both. Polished it had a nice skid snap reaction and dull it rolled really nice in oil. This was my first ebonite ball and i haven't thrown anything but Ebonite since. The only problem is with lack of oil. Cant blame the ball for that it just hooks and a hooking ball and dry lanes dont match too well. I really loved the ball polished. When i use it i throw over 15 and the ball skids right throw the heads like a hot knife through butter and then it hits the dry it just turns and destroys the pocket. Absolutly a great ball for those oilly conditions.

This ball is VERY forgiving when you hit light. If you hit slightly lighter then a perfect pocket, but you would still say it was a near perfect shot, its almost set in stone that you will leave a ten pin. Advice I probably shouldn't say is that I aim light with this ball. On sport shot lanes, I shot a 283 and an 813 series with it, hitting light nearly every strike. Unlike all the other reviews, I will tell you now that if the lanes are drenched, this ball will not give you the reaction you are expecting. I own a DinoThane crisis, and I was expecting my killer instinct to hook a great deal more than it, but after testing the balls on the same shot with the same mark, I discovered that the dinothane broke later and hooked more in very heavy oil, as long as I kept the speed down. Now, the Killer Instinct has alot of grip and the speed you throw it doesn't seem to effect the hook nearly as much. But on the same lane, the dino thane left over double the amount of ten pins tha

A beautiful ball rolling down the lanes and a very good compliment to your arsenal for heavy oil conditions. A must have in my opinion. You can swing this baby way out there and it will always come back to the pocket with the upmost authority and deliver a very powerful pocket pounding shot. I love Ebonite products and this ball compliments my Obsession which is also an oil ball but provides a smoother path to the pocket. The Killer Instinct gives one more angles to the pocket, whether deep inside or over the traditional track area. You can't go wrong with this ball. It can help your game.

Drilled this ball with a 4 ½ “ pin, the CG 4” from my PAP and the bomb at 90* which placed it in my thumb. This ball hooks. With this drilling I could not get the ball down the lane, but I wasn’t bowling where there is a lot of oil. If I sent this ball out to the right, it just burnt up and would not recover. This ball wanted to roll in the midlane. I polished it with the Particle Polish and the ball then went farther down the lane, gave me a strong arcing backend reaction and a powerful hit. This ball is a winner when it is matched up correctly with condition.

why would someone need this much hook. the guy that gave it to me said the ball wasnt really moving for him and he puts more hand in the ball then i do. he said i could have it since i was having a problem finding something to not take off on lanes. i thought this was gonna be great and i was gonna love it. well it started off me just tossing it to the gutter and it was holding, but as i got more used to the ball i ended up out there by middle arrow not really struggling but still out there on the lanes. overall if you want hook and you i guess dont put much hand in the ball, this ball will be for you

on the overall this ball is amaizing.....there are so many ways to use this ball...on dry days i can crank the ball like robert smith and on super oily days i can move left and put some major revs on the ball. there isnt anything to hate about the ball...when i go to the lanes i get alot of attention because of the color...and i can finally see how many revs im putting on the ball(other ball was pure black) so i wasnt able to tell untill now n n n n n n n n n n n n n n n n n n n n n n n n n n n n n n n n

I've been a Storm fan for a while now. I own a X-Factor and a Core Power LRG but needed a heavy oil ball. I looked into Stroms Fear Factor but after waching a few people throw it I was convinced that it wasn't what I was looking for. I didn't want a Particle ball that starting moving as soon as it leaves you hand so I looked into heavy oil Reactive balls and found the Killer Insticnt Sanded by Ebonite. I've heard great things about this ball and decided to order one and see what it would do. I had it laid out and drilled Stacked 4x4. Pin 1/2 inch above and 1 inch to the right of the ring finger. This ball flat out MOVES. I was bowling a house shot with med oil and had to throw this ball over the left gutter swinging it out to the 5 board and it was still hitting brooklyn. Throwing my buddies Fear Factor on the same conditions I found that the Killer Instinct Sanded out hooked the Fear Factor by 8 boards. Ebonite really has something here. I'm no longer afraid of oil. Infact

This ball in my opinion is ten times the ball the fear factor is. ive throw both of them and i am so much more impressed with the way this one reacts. This ball gave me a little leadway. it carried some higher hits in the pocket and just shattered the pins on some lighter hits. Another plus was all night i only left one ten pin. This ball worked really well for me and i recomend it to people who are looking for a good ball to hook mostly on medium to heavy oil. Another plus is that the ball looks so darn cool going down the lane. The orange is just awesome. Ebonite is making so good balls of late and this is just another one of them.

another great ball from ebonite drilled stacked bomb swong out to the trck about 1/2" from it almost. Pin 3 3/8" from pap.... This ball will move and I mean move.... hits like a ton and pins scatter quick... Carry down doesn't bother this ball either eats thru it with ease and a nice smooth reaction that isn't jumpy or unexpected. Ebonite has done some good things in the past 5 years and they keep coming out with great balls not only top of the line but their mid priced are also great balls.. i'm even thinking of getting another one for nationals but drilled pin above the fingers bomb swung out and polished to the max for a deep inside shot.
