Wow!!! This is my first time trying a dyno-thane ball and I got this one as a comp....wanted to get a ball drilled for super caked up oil in which I didn't have to compromise how I throw the ball....I am amazed at how the ball comes back in oil...it does specifically what dyno-thane says it will do...hook in oil!!! I was also surprised how well it carried as well, I like the hit, and I like the way the ball looks....I must admit, I was skeptical at first since I don't know to many people throwing dyno-thane equipment but i am glad I did. This is a ball that will be in my arsenal for years to come...definitely gonna try and get more of these and also look more into dyno-thane bowling balls.....

Drilled it up 3.5 x 3.5, with the pin very high and left about 0.50 ounces side weight. What a monster! You can describe it in three words - strong, strong, strong! From the time it leaves your hand, you can tell it’s just looking for an excuse to hook. And if it can’t find one, it hooks anyway. There have been times I’ve missed it completely at the bottom of the swing, and this ball just doesn’t care, it’s coming back from anywhere. I don’t know if it’s possible to throw this one through the break point. I certainly haven’t been able to do it (and believe me, I’ve tried). If you’re going to use this one, you need solid oil coverage through the heads and at least early midlane. The back end recovery will let you get deep and use it on the oilier mediums, and the midlane and back end will let you square up just a bit and use it on the heavy stuff. If you like to cover lots of boards, this is the ball for you. If you’re someone who’s ball speed is a bit too high for your rev r

I now have a Thing Returns, Thing, and Thing Lives. This ball is an excellent choice for oilier lanes. I have mine drilled with the pin down (Rev Leverage) with no balance hole. So, it could even be a little stronger if needed! For a strong hooking ball, this is one of the most consistent, readable balls I have ever owned! This is by far the strongest reacting arcing ball in Dyno-Thane's line! It carries just like my Thing Returns and is just as forgiving! It's responsive to hand position changes and just loves to make a left hand turn once it hits friction on the lane. In my opinion, it doesn't handle carry down as well as it could, but that's when you need a particle ball for that little extra grab. I'd recommend this to any bowler who wants to attack the heavier stuff!<scrip

I punched mine Label Leverage 3.25" Pin-to-PAP, cg 1/2 inch positive, box finish and no X-hole. WOW what an easy revving and heavy rolling ball. This ball is easy through the heads, reads the midlane very well and is still rolling heavy through the 8-pin at 60 feet. I purposely practice after a Youth League were the oil gets pushed everywhere just to see if I can line up and string away... This ball ignores the carrydown and continues through the 5 and 8. I have had more success practicing with this ball on PBA Pattern D once I put a light scuff on it... definitely recovers more than my Anomaly.

I have had this ball for about 3 months so I figured it was time to post a review. The ball is drilled pin down and CG Kicked out, with a weight hole. I first used the ball in out of box condition and the ball worked great, clean through the heads, great mid land and nice backend. I then purchased the AU79 and dulled it to 600 grit, so it replaced the Thing lives for Heavy Oil. I then polished The Thing Lives using Storm 1 polishing compound and the ball reacts even better, a stronger backend, and cleaner though the heads. Dyno-Thane is a great ball company and It carries the 10 very well for me, I would recommend Dyno-Thane balls to anyone.<

I've thrown a 750 set with this ball many 220 plus games and it keeps on showing me theirs more to see. This ball is fast becoming my old reliable friend. If I'm not sure of the oil pattern in a new house. I just move three boards left and in a couple of throws I know what to expect and how to move to get the result this ball has shown me this past year. This ball will be the best ball for your money spent, game after game, year after year. I have thrown it in three leagues plus practice this past year with at least 200 plus games on it and it still rolls like the first day I bought It. Not what I've found from other big name Ball companies.

i used this ball on both wood and synthetic house shots. i 1st used out of the box finish in both houses. i had to move in to around 4th arrow on both conditions as the night went on. i polished it and it was easier to use and get down the lanes. the wood surface made it unplayable when they dried out. hit and carry are good. drilled mine a label leverage with a small balance hole on my pap. the polish did not change the roll of the ball, just when it rolled. very aggressive ball. it is definately not shy. moves moves moves. if the lanes start to dry out, as long as there is oil in the middles, keep moving left. if not, change to something that will skid a bit further. unless you cant get anything to hook in oil, i suggest you put at least a medium polish on it to keep it in play longer

This is my first expensive ball. I have been using a Flame for a long time and it works well enough, but I see everyone else swinging the ball out with a lot more power so I upgraded to something a lot more aggressive. This ball hooks too much to play my style. You have to keep it inside of 2nd arrow or it is not easy to control. I would say the power when I hit the pocket is very impressive and can carry the 7 pin on the really low hits which my Flame doesn't do. With a lot of oil or if you play inside with a lot of speed you will really like this ball and I am more than happy with the hitting power and drive thru the pocket.

Drilled Cg under pin with pin next to ring finger. For the ball not being polished I was still able to get some lenth out of it before it started to move back to the pocket. The Ball carries almost everything with very few 10 Pins. I think I have actually left more nine pins than 10 pins. Ball works very well on lanes with oil. Once the line dries up put this ball away. Found out it was too agressive for 2nd shift leagues that are not reoiled. Handles carry down very well if there is enough oil in the heads. Another great ball from Dyno-thane!!!!!

Covering Reaction: Just to start off, this ball will hook coast to coast if you're not watching how much oil is on the lane. I drilled this up for maximum hook potential simply because I needed a replacement for my fluked fear factor...and that's exactly what I got. This ball loves oil, and just cuts through it like a knife in air while maintaining a super smooth reaction the whole time. Another thing this ball dominates, to my surprise also, is handling carrydown. As stated before, it just hooks to the pocked like a dream. However, there are some things to be aware of. This ball has the very strange attendancy to hook perfectly for 5 frames and then underhook for the next three, so it can be inconsistant at times, though I would not expect to see this too much. Another thing is this ball hates dry lanes, or even up to medium. It will just overhook, or roll out if you have no backends. Though for medium-heavy amounts of oil and beyond, this ball is just what you need... Covering

I can stand farther left and push this one farther right than any other ball I own. It appears to really rev hard at about 35 feet and it looks like its a down hill path to the pocket from there. You need to get into the oil with it and ride the oil line until gets to the break point that you need. This is my heavy oil ball now, and its really nice to be able to take that giant step left and get the ball around the corner, I know I dont belong over there, but it sure is fun to stand there. The hit is nice too.

This ball is a perfect compliment to my Anomoly. I have used it on the heavy oil shot that holds up all night and scored 744 out of the box. On the less heavy shot, put up 266 then had to change quickly because it was just to strong as the oil went away. I replaced my last Storm Product, Fear Factor, with this ball. Everthing in my bag now is Dyno-Thane. I currently have aboyt 30 games on it and it stilll moves as it did out of the box. Drilled 3 3/8 X 3 3/8, pin next to ring finger.<scrip

This ball does what it is suppose to do. This ball hooks and eats through the oil. Our team has drilled up 3 of these and all 3 of them have been great. We needed a heavy oil ball and D/T came out with one. Drilled two of them with pin above the finger and the Cg kicked out about 2 inches. Then drilled one with a 4x4 pin under and they all rolled fantastic. Dynothane once again comes out with a ball for a purpose and not to flood the market. The staff at D/T is doing a great job putting out a great product.

Dyno-Thane was kind enough to send Willie Willis one of these to test out. Willie laid the ball out with the pin 1 1/2 inches off his grip line and the CG in the center of his palm. On the heavier oil volume house shot, this ball was awesome. It would rev up in the head, pick up a roll in the mid lane, and then make a strong sweeping move to the pocket. On a medium oil shot Willie just moved deeper into the lane to give the ball more room. When the lanes started to dry out, the ball was too much. Willie found this ball to be as aggressive as his Ultimate Inferno and Total Annihilation overall. This is Dyno-Thane strongest release to this point. The Soaker coverstock gets rid of the oil on the surface of the ball quickly and will keep bitting on those heavier volume shots. Drilled mine 4 1/2 inches from axis with large hole under axis point (cg kicked out 90 degrees). Used the factory finish (not sure what that is) Like most of the Dynothane equipment, this ball still tries to be clean through the front but it picks up the midlane much better. Overall the most aggressive ball they make (for me anyhow) and has plenty of pop left when it hits the pins. I would compare it to a earlier / stronger version of the Element. A great ball where you have to create more angle through the front part of the lane and need it to read the midlane hard.
