Thug Corrupt

I drilled the Thug Corrupt the same as most of the asymmetric balls I've drilled recently and really liked: 70 by 4 1/2" by 40. This layout gave me a strong roll in the midlane, with a hard continuous arc in the backend. On the fresh house shot, the Thug Corrupt opened up the lane without being sensitive to the wet/dry part of the lane. On a 39 foot sport pattern, it was a little too strong in the midlane as it was really picking up hard in the 30-40' range, so it forced me to open my angles a little more than I wanted to. I grinded through a game and a half with it and decided to make a change for the last two games. I found this ball to work better on patterns that are in the 41-44' range, because of the strong roll and backend continuation. Comparing to the Thug, The Thug Corrupt is considerably stronger. I stood 9 boards inside of the Thug and targeted 5 boards to the inside on the same pattern. The Corrupt was definitely more predictable when the pattern was fresh, and the Thug is more suited to medium oil. The Thug Unruly was a picked up a little faster on the lane than the Corrupt, and had a smoother backend shape. With the Corrupt giving a faster response to friction, it caused me to open my angles a little more than I like to see, and I played the lanes in the exact same spot with both balls. Since the new COMPOSITE material is supposed to be stronger, i wanted to take the Corrupt to the same surface as my Unruly (2000) and see how they differed. With this cover prep, I started to really love this ball. It picked up in the same part of the lane as the Unruly, but still had the same amount of backend that it had before. When I would start to move to the inside with the Unruly and it would just be too much in the front and mids to continue down lane, the Corrupt would continue to make the same move, regardless of how deep I got and how far right I threw it. I can't wait to throw the new Thug Corrupt more. With the higher volume in my center's house shot, and the longer sport patterns we see in tournaments, I envision the Corrupt to be great for a lot of different people this year. The Unruly did very well in our center, and I envision this new piece to do even better.
