The new Red/Orange Misfit features the same low-diff weight block from the Misfit Pearl, but utilizes a new solid cover that is less aggressive than the original solid covers from the first three Misfit balls. This combination yields great length and a smooth move at the breakpoint. This ball is a little cleaner through the front than the original solid Misfits, and much more controllable on the backend than the Misfit Pearl. Mine was punched up 55 x 4 1/4 x 75 with a big hole down my VAL. On the fresh house shot, I was able to play on top of the friction without the ball over-reacting. When I moved into the middle of the lane, the ball didn't quick dig through the soup that the oil machine puts down in the middle of the lane. Players who struggle with carry as their league pattern breaks down will love the new Misfit. It will allow the bowler to stay close to the dry part of the lane, without diving through the face. On a shorter sport or challenge pattern, the Misfit Red/Orange gives me the best ball reaction I have ever had. I was able to stand on top of the gutter, which is where most short patterns give the most room for error, and the Misfit gave me a smooth, predictable, and consistent arc to the pocket, and the strike percentage was incredible. If you're facing some trouble with dryer lanes or struggle on short patterns, the Misfit Red/Orange is the ball for you.
