Layout: 60 x 4.5 x 65 PAP: 3 ¾ x ¾ up Pre-Drilling Expectations: I am anticipating the Misfit Pearl to be a solid light to medium oil ball. Hopefully it clears the heads well and doesn’t over react to friction. I plan to use the ball later in tournaments when the oil has broken down. Ball Appearance: The ball is very bright…imagine a yellow highlighter. It will draw attention going down the lane. Insert recommendation: black or neon pink. My Random Thoughts (i.e. My Review): The ball has a quick response time and it is strong off the break point. It mixes up the pins very nicely upon impact. An exact quote from a league bowler next to me: “That ball looks like a house ball on steroids.” My first game out of box proved to be a 276 on a burnt up house shot. I missed my mark on 2 shots, both 2 boards inside, and neither shot carried. The other shots hit the pocket like a truck. High rev bowlers are going to love this ball. Weaker rev bowlers may struggle to gain proper entry angle into the pocket. This will ball will work great on burnt up conditions. Final Thoughts I really enjoy throwing the Misfit Pearl by DV8. It grabs the attention of many bowlers around you due to the color and the hitting power. The ball will struggle in heavier oil and for bowlers who have a lower rev rate. Ideally this ball should be used when your other equipment starts picking up to early and losing energy. As a sub $90 bowling ball it is a bargain! Matthew Becker BowlerX Amateur Staff www.bowlerx.com
