Not sure what this is sanded to before it was polished, but I first threw at a ten pin. Firm, Straight up behind it without rolling over the thumb hole. It made a little move in the last three feet where my TUFF didn't. Now I'm curious. Put my hand under and rip the cover off with a bit slower ball speed. Of course it would hook, but it did more than I thought. The amazing part is how well it hit the pins. Even when you pick that single pin spare it sounds even harder than other spare balls. This thing is proven. Now I'm stuck! Do I 4000 and triple coat? Or leave it alone for fried lane ball?

This ball is a great game-saver. If you line yourself up correctly for the 7 or the 10 pin and hit your target... you will never miss. Missing a single pin should easily take away ten pins from your score. This ball is a must-have for any decent bowler. It is about the most inexpensive ball that you can find... so there is not much of a reason not to have this ball. This ball should never be used as a strike ball though, because since it does not hook it will not carry. Just because the ball hardly hooks does not mean that you can slow down your speed. Every once in a while, that inch or two that the ball hooks can cause you to miss.<s

The ball is a must for anybody who wants to be absolutely sure in spare shooting without considering the lane condtions. Previously, I used to have my strike ball for spart shooting. It gave a lot of headache when considering the lane conditions whether its oily, dry, carrydown and to adjust the stance. And of course for that very reason, I missed quite a number of spares. A couple of months ago, I decided to buy a spare ball and selected blue dots. Now, I am getting used to spare shooting system and no longer worred about the lane conditions. My average was up at least 20 pins as compared before. So anybody who has struggle in spare shooting, get blue dot!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

Another great ball by Columbia. This ball has stood the test of time, a great ball 15 years ago and a great ball today. This is not only a spare ball this ball is proven when used on the right condition. I have full confidence in this piece of equipment, I have purchased this ball 3 times due to overuse and I don't regret any of those purchases. Simply put, if you need a rock get a blue dot you will not be disappointed with the versatility of this legend. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . one two three four five six seven eight nine ten eleven. . . . . .

Thi sis a great ballf or the beginner that through's a straight ball or for a very good bowler that needs this ball for 10 pin picks. This ball when thrown will not move, it will stay on line and will make 10 pins easy if thrown right. But this ball will hook on dry lane conditions so it is a alturnituve to a dry lane ball and will keep the same line every time. Overall this ball is a good ball for a good bowler and will make your average rise in most situatuions. It also will help you to keep your ballance and teach you to use any ball for your 10 pins.

This is the only piece of non Track equipment that I throw, and it is the most vital part of any game. Everyone overlooks the fact that sooner or later, you have to shoot spares, and what better ball than the Blue Dot for That? I get accused of being cocky when I shoot spares, because I turn around as soon as I release the ball almost. But with the Blue Dot, all you need to see is where the ball rolls over 10 feet down the lane, because if you hit your mark, then this ball is going in a straight line to wherever you want it to go.

This ball is absolutely perfect for spare shooting. It goes straight no matter how you throw it. In the pase, I used my strike ball to shoot spares. Very often I missed sometimes because I missed my mark and sometimes because of the oil conditons on the line. So I eventually decided to buy this spare ball to pick up spares. I still missed some of them, not because of the ball but rather I missed my mark. The goods news is the oil conditions no longer affects my spare shooting. So if anyone is trying to buy a spare ball, pick this one. 100% guarantee.

Finally a spare ball that goes straight. you gotta love that. there's really not much more to say, because it's not a performance ball, but I couldn't get anybody to hook it, even the guys with all the hand in the world (sorry gotta take up some space) It's absoloutely awesome, and is probaly a ball that will last the rest of my life. The 1 ebonite plastic ball I had, sucked. I could hook the ball oil, that ain't right. And it's another success from Columbia (then again, what isn't). This the plastic ball of plastic balls.

How can you not like the blue dot? It is the perfect spare ball. It has the hardest shell of any Columbia 300 ball ever made and goes the straightest. It lasts forever and dosn't get a track very easily. You know exactly what it is going to do....go straight. It has a pancake block, so drill it over the lable. This site is making me use 100 words in my review, so i can also say that the silver pearl is pretty, and it has a blue dot on it. They are cheap too. To shoot at most spares, use the blue dot and go straight at it.

Whenever i am using my white dot and it starts to hook early i go right to my blue dot. it goes a good six feet longer than my white d o t. the only problem is when i hit up the back of it a little to much it tends to go behind the head pin and i start leaving flat 10 pins and weak seven pins. but when the lanes are a little toasty especially a tournament i like to bring out my blue dot.the harder surface of the ball gives me the little extra length i need.

This is actually my first ever plastic ball. I picked this one because everybody said this was the best. I gave a few throw and felt that they were all right. The ball did not hook at all. I've seen some plastic balls that hook a bit. This ball has ZERO hook on it. The design and color are quite simple. They only engraved the columbia 300 sign and that's about it. I think I would prefer having this than the fancy plastic balls with "things" inside them. Good work Columbia! Retain this ball a little while longer!!

BURY 10 PIN
The Blue Dot is one of the best balls every made period!!!! I have owned this ball since it was released by columbia300. I use this ball on any condtion to pick up 7 pins, 10 pins, and split shots that requires a accurate hit. If you throw a hook and need a second ball to pick up thoughs pesky corner pins you must purchase this game savior. The ball is now discontinued and probably disappearing as we speak. I love my ebonite balls but ,this ball I can't rid myself of. In conclusion, A Blue dot is an excellent choice when someone needs to shoot a crucial spare shot.

My oil type says dry... it should be any oil type, really. I usually have this ball handy at every bowling center. If the lane conditions are dry, I use this ball to get the 7 pin or 10 pin. Throw it right at it, it won't hook. bam. It's really good if your primary ball is a hook ball, because you get a direct shot at these pins. This one is great for slow/average throwers whose ball usually hooks away from these pins. This ball should work on any type of oil. It will probably hook away a little from the 7 or 10 on dry lanes, depending on your hand if you put a lot of spin in it, so don't put too much ballspin in it. Great spare ball.
