Nothing is as good as Gold. This new pearlized Pro has a medium inverted lightbulb core reactive urethane cover and two piece construction for medium to oily lanes.

Brunswick's very first pearl reactive can still handle today's house patterns; an exception would be lanes in transition (a modern-day resin would probably better suit). I found this ball at Star Lanes in Sandusky on the house rack. Like the Teal, I had it resurfaced with new grips. A weight hole was added to the layout (leverage stacked, pin in 0-1") in order to keep things legal. Even with the mild cover, the Gold has some midlane read and a sharp break to the pocket. It hits like a train with ample carry to boot. Compared to the Teal, the Gold has slightly more length with more backend recovery (due to the pearl cover and slightly higher flare potential). I once owned this ball during the 1995-96 ABC season, and the look then was the same as what I witnessed today. The Gold, the Teal, and the original Black urethane should make up a suitable vintage arsenal for the normal house environment (Gold for the open shot, Teal for tighter lines, and the original Black for ligh

I enjoyed this ball...you had a wide choices of shots, and with my inconsistant game, it still served me well. Now there is so many models of weight blocking, this Gold Rhino is simplistic. Since my last entry here...Im rolling a Wired...I wanted to find the same characteristics of the Gold in reaction, but the wired is far more limited on certain conditions. I still can see a Gold Rhino on Ebay from time to time, and there is still a following for this ball. I do remember that this ball also, like the Wired, is a good pocket area ball. Brookins were more frequent tho'. <sc

I really am impressed with this ball. Its hits very hard and has a smooth arc and nice backend for an old ball.I like the Brunswick balls but I was shocked this ball worked on oil.Very nice reaction with a nice continuous movement to the pocket.I would advise anyone to try and get there hands on one.It will definitlly work on todays lane conditions as well as it did in the old days.Brunswick might want to consider bringing back some if not all of the old Rhino Pro line.I hope my reviews have helped you with ball selection and preparation thanks for everything and good luck and good bowling!!!<s

i think this is an awesome ball for anybody to have in their bag. It was my dads, and then i had it plugged and redrilled. He didnt like it but i thought different. This ball is awesome on dry lanes. When everybody is struggling with the dry heads, just take this thing out and youll have a great advantage over everybody else. I bowled my high game with this ball. 298....damn 8-10 split. Oh well, it was a good game. But hey, this proves that your equipment doesnt have to be brand new to give you good scores.

A good friend and I bought ours about a month apart nearly ten years ago, and we still throw them regularly. You can literally throw this ball on any shot, although I prefer not to scuff it for heavy oil. Hit light-carry. Hit high-carry. Dead flush, scoop the pins out of the parking lot. Just a fantastic ball. ozzydude and curtisV know what I'm talking about. If there was ever a ball I couldn't do without, it's this one. I pull it out when I'm lost or struggling and it's does the rest. The best endorsement any ball can have is longevity, and I've seen fewer balls that have the staying power of this one., especially when there are literally dozens of new balls released yearly.

great ball. i lost this ball due to a car fire a few years ago, i was more upset for losing this ball than my car. really didnt matter on how the lanes were , this ball knew what to do. i bought ball and a few weeks a movie came out called kingpin(i think) and they used the same ball was great :) it had a six sense in where the pocket was every shot no matter how bad release was. i would say if ya have one keep it or if u have one collecting dust give it to me and i'll use the hell out of it :))

very versitile ball, mine is set with the pin out at one o clock and center of gravity set out about 3/4 inch off center of span, i can play down and in with it or swing it out in more dry lane conditions, medium flare, really good power, great all around ball, one i will never get rid of, easy to polish and easy to dull and the pearl finish really looks cool spinning down the lanes, one of the best rhinos ever made in my book. if you have one i would recommend keeping it just in case.
