Color: Fire Pearl Coverstock: PK 2016 Pearl Weight Block: Quantum Mushroom High RG Factory Finish: 500 Siaair/Crown Factory Compound Flare Potential: High Radius of Gyration (RG): 2.557 (15lbs) Differential (Diff): 0.053 (All Weights) Intermediate Differential (Diff): n/a The new Quantum Fire Pearl has been designed with 3.5 times more coverstock increasing durability and performance longevity with an amazing pin impact you not only see but hear! Why does more coverstock improve the pin action so much? More coverstock enhances the Coefficient of Restitution which is the ratio of the differences in velocity between two objects before and after a collision. The higher the restitution, the faster the pins will move after being struck by the ball, transferring that increased kinetic energy to the surrounding pins producing greater pin action! The combination of our highly popular PK 2016 pearl reactive coverstock with our high-density, redesigned Quantum Mushroom core, gives the Quantum Fire Pearl effortless skid through the front, maintaining axis rotation for a superior backend reaction on medium oil lane conditions.

Layout: 75° x 5 1/4" x 35° When deciding on how I wanted to lay this ball out, I was struggling between going with the layout I had on my Melee Jab or the Platinum Ringer. I really liked the overall shape the Jab makes, but I was looking for something that would project down the lane better than the Jab when they started to hook. I went with a blend of the two, leaning more towards the Platinum Ringer, because I wanted my end result to be better skid when they started to hook up front. I'm very impressed with how easily this ball gets through the burn up front, and still brings it in the back for a symmetrical ball. Normally, I would need to go to a Brainiac to get the kick in the back to get rid of corner pins, but this ball doesn't have any problems doing that. When bowling on the fresh, I have this ball about 2 and 1 weaker than my Brainiac, which is pretty much where I wanted it to be. I find that these two balls compliment each other pretty well. When either is just not the right ball for the given condition, 9 times out of 10, I can switch to the other and make a slight move and be fine. One main difference I do find between these two balls is that the Brainiac is a little more versatile than the Fire Quantum.

Forget all the layout and technical gibberish. After getting a few games on the ball, I can tell you all one thing, this ball carries everything. Its not my imagination with all the half 10s, bucket crumbles, wallys, etc, etc, that strike that normally wouldn't. Better carry and a free bag, just get one already! This ball is great!
