Plastic slips. The Groove grips. And grip is exactly what you need to improve your game. When you’re ready to step up from plastic, get in the Groove. Ready to start hooking the ball? Move up from Plastic to Reactive coverstock technology. Compared to Plastic, Reactive coverstock technology increases traction and hooking action in the oil, and Reactive coverstocks can be sanded or shined to create large differences in hook potential. Reactive coverstocks also respond more aggressively to dry lane surfaces than Urethane coverstocks, increasing backend hooking action and hitting power. Coverstock: These three Power Groove Reactive balls feature a factory polished version Brunswick’s popular PowrKoil 17 Reactive coverstock. Factory polishing helpes create a more skid/snap reaction that saves most of its hooking action for the back part of the lane. First used on the Sapphire Zone, PowrKoil 17 is the strongest Reactive coverstock ever used on a Groove class ball. Core: The Power G

this can be a good ball for beginners , and it works for bowlers with lower ball speed and on short oil patterns. Easy to contol. Nice hitting power! On dry lanes this ball hooks way too soon. With a different coverstock, the power groove would be a good dry lane ball. I like it on fresh oiled lanes, when I want to bowl down the boards, but if I gain speed, this ball doesn t hook. I don t really use this ball anymore, but bowled pretty good games with it. Good Ball, but Brunswick has better balls ! I like the BVP-series!

I bought this ball as a back up to my Ultimate Inferno. It does go longer but I can play third arrow when I thought it would be a down and in ball with a smoother break. I'm not much on bowling specs. My power groove is drilled with the pin staight between and approx. two inches in front of my finger holes. Which would account for the good length, but it really breaks sharp and appears to be hard to control for three games. I should try this ball in another house as the house I'm in has issues with the oil mach. and they are not looking to replace it as the house is for sell. I would like to hear someother reviews before I invest in something else.
