Overall it a very good ball pushes hard. Has very very nice colors. Probably the best colors ever put on a ball before. AMAZING BACKEND REACTION. A good compliment for your original mastermind. Good only on heavy-medium oil. Once it gets below medium oil your going to have to put the ball back in the bag. This ball switched my favorite company from storm, over to brunswick. The only bad thing i can say is that most house shots get broken down easily so you'll only be able to throw it most likely half your games. VERY GOOD BALL OTHERWISE

Type of bowler: Tweener Avg Speed: 17.5 Rev Rate: 375-400 PAP: 5 x ¾ up Layout: 52 x 3 ½ x 55 with a balance hole 2 inches below PAP on VAL Drilled my Mastermind Genius to play off a Disturbed that I absolutely love. The intent was to drill something that gives me a similar shape but with more distance. This ball delivers. The ball keeps its energy very well and is a truck through the pins. The only downside I have seen overall is that carry down may be a bit of an issue, but that’s what the Disturbed is for in my case. 1. 40 foot House Shot – Shot has quite a bit of volume, so I was able to use this ball left to right and the good news was that it did not over read the oil line. Strong, balance shape all 60 feet. Move in the back was very good. 2. Nationals team pattern – Obviously this is an approximation of the pattern as it is at a local center, but it has been fairly true in years past. Ball read the pattern very well and was very controllable. With the flat nature of the pattern, the over-under inside was always present, but it read the end of pattern very well and consistent. Just what you want. If you’re looking for a strong shape that won’t rev too early, the Genius is a ball for you. Darrell Lovell www.bowlerx.com staffer

Layout: 55° x 4 7/8” x 35° When planning how we were going to layout this ball, I had some initial concerns. I wanted to leverage the improved skid/snap over the Mystic Aura, but I had found that the layouts we did with them (higher angles) didn’t really translate well for what I was looking for. We decided to go with a smaller angle (55), similar to what we did with my original Aura. The smaller angle was the secret. This ball definitely is what I was expecting the Mystic Aura to do, and then some. It skates through the front and has great motion through the pins. My first series out of the box with this ball was 815, so on the China, this ball is really good. I’ve also used it on some USBC Sport Patterns (2009 Nationals, 2013 Masters), and when my shorter pin balls start up too soon, this ball is perfect to go to. Doesn’t over read, and makes great transition off the back. I compared this to my Mystic Auras, and my original Aura. Compared to the Mystic Auras, this ball blended out the pattern much better than either Mystic Auras, but that was most likely due to the layouts we chose on the Mystics. When laying this ball out, we were looking to finally replace my Aura, which has some miles on it. The first three shots off my hand with this ball, I knew I had my replacement. It had all the benefits that I liked about my Aura (great midlane traction and strong backend), and added the motion through the pins that I first saw with the original Mastermind. --The opinions expressed are solely those of the writer and not of Brunswick Corporation--
