I purchased this ball because I wanted to try an even arcing ball but did not want to spend more than $100 total (ball and drilling). I also have an attitude 2 which has a sharp break point. The Swamp Monster has now sold me on the fact an even arcing ball can work great also. I may have a different drilling than some of the other reviews on here because I have been able to use it anywhere from medium-dry to oily lanes. I have played this ball anywhere from the deep (3rd arrow from left) to straight up (1st arrow from right) depending on the condition and it always a consistent smooth arc. While I admit it doesnt look like it hits as powerful as my attitude 2 it does carry just as good (actually better on high hits). I feel this with this ball I have found a good companion for my attitude 2. I would like to get one more ball (an in between ball), maybe an inferno.

Cannot recommend as it dies to quickly. No movement at all. I hate that it requires 100 words. This part is true babble due to the 100 word requirement. I cannot say 100 words about this or any ball. Just reas the first few words. They say it all, but this stupid system requires 100 words. At least they all do nto ned to be speled kurrektly. Dumb 100 word minimum. How can anyone write 100 words about a 16 pound rock? I wisht hey would take this requirement away! Did I make 100 words yet? Lets see! Nope, it is requiring me to babble on some more. OK here is more worthless babble! 100 words yet<

BEFORE THE PURCHASE OF THIS BALL MY OIL BALL WAS A VIOLET ZONE PRO. BUT THAT BALL FINALY GAVE ITS LAST GAME AND GOT TRACKED OUT SO I NEED A BALL THE COULD FOLLOW ITS FOOT STEPS AND AS YOU KNOW ANY OF YOU WHO HAVE BOWLED IN VEGAS YOU KNOW THAT YOUR OILD BALL GETS THE MOST USE! SO I GOT TO TALKING TO PRO AND TOLD HIM MY ZONE FINNALY HAD ITS LAST STRIKE AND I NEEDED A OIL BALL THAT WOULD COMPARE TO THAT AND HE PULLED THIS BALL OUT OF HIS BAG AND LET ME USE IT FOR A GAME OR 2 AND THE FIRST GAME I SHOT WITH IT I THREW A 299! AND MIND YOU THIS BALL WAS A 1/8 INCH LONGER THAN MY SPAN AND HAD GRIPS THAT WERE 2 SIZES TO SMALLER. SO AFTER THAT GAME HE TOOK ME INTO HIS SHOP GRABBED ON OF THE SHELF AND DRILLED IT FOR ME AND THIS WAS 1 WEEKS AGO AND I HAVE SHOT 6 GAMES WITH IT AND MY AND IT HAS GIVIN ME 1 800 SERIES SO FAR AND 1 700 SERIES SO FAR. SO I WOULD RECOMEND THIS BALL TO ANY ONE WHO PLAYE WHERE THERE IS OIL. SINCE I HAVE HAD THIS BALL AS MY NUMBER 1 BALL IN MY BAG I HAVE ONLY HAD TO PUL

This ball glides through the slick stuff with ease and starts its turn early - even in the oil. Heavy rolling with good pop at the end. This ball was not designed for less than med/heavy conditions and you'll find that out quick as it will roll up just past the arrows and not hook at all. We were excited to watch the ball do its stuff the first couple of times we threw it but that quickly wore off as the 10 pins started popping up! Light hits left us with 7 pins, flush = 10 pin, tight brought out a few 4 pins. pocket carry was probably about 50% which isn't too bad considering the heavy conditions but we still expected better. Some people out there will carry well with Brunswick and this ball will meet there heavy oil needs.

I really trusted Brunswick on this ball, but they let me down. It just doesn't cut through the oil like you think it will. There are better balls on the market than this one. Great spare ball though. On oil, glides to the pin. Made a 4-9, 4-10, 6-7, and almost a 7-10. Thinking about plugging the ball, and maybe redrilling it with the pin directly under the ring finger. Might make some difference. Also, I think that the whole Brunswick franchise has been letting up bowlers down lately with these not-top-notch quality balls. They really need to step it up EDIT: I hadn't bowled in about 9 months, picked up the ball, and in my third game of my high school tryouts I threw my personal best, 247! Then, later that week, I threw a 244. Hadn't done anything to the ball at all

I am bowling in a Challege League, and one of the shots is a PBA Tournament of Champions shot. 50 foot of oil, and a very weight oil. I drilled this ball up, 3 3/8 by 3 3/8 layout. With this layout the ball is a Swamp Monster for sure. The ball give me a smooth arcing reaction that is easy to read. This ball hooks as much as some of the other companies high end heavy oil balls. This is a great ball for the money. If the heads start to dry up, put this ball in the bag. It will hook at your feet. If you have any questions, please email me. Thanks, Bill BuddiesProShop.com

Use this ball box finish on heavy oil and you will be a happy bowler. Use it on any other conditons and you will have to bag it. The ball does track out very quickly but this is what you want on heavy oil. It actually has a tracking action through the oil and bam the pins fly. Best carry I have had with a 14 lb. ball Have to use this wt. because of my shoulder but I imagine there is more explosiveness with the heavier weights. Brunswick will probably continue their maddening ways of discontinuing balls before people can get feedback on them. Would love to have had the Black/Green Monster but this is gone as well as some others I wanted to try. Pity. Gino.

This ball is not made to come into the pocket at extreme angles. The straighter you can play it the better off you are. And, in order to play straighter with this ball you better be using on a long pattern, and play inside of the oil line. Good hit, but not great. This ball is great for the cost. However you do have to keep the surface clean because it soaks up alot of oil. I like it better than the brimstone red, but only because it seems to have a smoother roll to it. Brunwicks Monster line is tops, if not 2nd in the midprice equipment on the market. This ball 3 years ago would have been their top of the line release.

I bought this ball for my wife due to the fact I was changing her over to a full roller style of release. I was looking for an aggressive ball that would help overcome the loss of hook that the full roller provides. This ball isn't the " Monster " we expected. I was planning on getting her another ball for her medium conditions, but now this ball is the medium ball. It does roll very strong and consistant on the medium shot and carries very well. But the heavy oil simply carries the ball down the lane past any break point and renders the ball useless.

Overall if you are looking for a ball that hooks, obviously dont buy the Swamp. It messed my average up for league and high school bowling. The ball looks good on the hook potential chart ,but on the lanes it doesnt actually do that. The swamp was good when i first got it then it just decided not to hook anymore. Overall i gave it 4 pins because it just isnt a good ball. The ball should be named a low - priced ball rather than mid-price bowling ball. Im not bashing Monster because im sure there other balls are pretty good.

The Brunswick Swamp Monster has been advertised by Brunswick as the world's best mid-priced oil ball ever created. This is not true!!! This ball can do absolutly nothing in heavy oil. It rolls nicely to the pocket, but hits like a twenty year old rubber ball. I have a strong release and I drilled this ball up for max hook, but the only use I could get out of it was during the first game on a normal league house shot. If you are in the market for an average league ball, buy the Swamp Monster otherwise continue to search.

I really like this ball alot, despite its weakness on dry lanes. Maybe I can figure that part out. It really crashes the pins hard. I have owned Hammers in the past, and I must say either I've gotten stronger, or this ball produces an earthquake when it smashes into the pins. I've only thrown a few games with it, and i've knocked six pins out onto the lanes on five different throws. My friends were as shocked as I was. I am impressed with this ball by it's performance, and hey, how can you go wrong with a ball called the Swamp Monster ?<

Pin-------------2-3" TopWeight-------2.2 onces Weight----------15.23 (before drilling Surface---------Factory Drill-----------3 3/8 X 3 3/8, no weight hole nessary. --------------------------Overall------------------------------------- This ball does not hook a bunch like I thought it would, but I can still strike with it. This ball rolls really early and kind of dies on the backend. This balls performance works best going up the boards rather then a big swing shot. It seemed the farther I moved left the harder it was to carry the corner pins because there was no extra little jolt on the backend (because it loses its power from rolling so early). This ball is very specific lane condition ball. -----------Condition with carry down and outsides dry.---------------- If you could get this ball through the heads the ball would do very well at finding the pocket. I had to use some loft to keep the ball from taking off when I put the ball down. Although the ball was getting to th

I purchased this ball with the idea that it will help my game. I throw the ball somewhat hard and was missing the pocket with my pearl/reactive finished ball. With the swamp monster, I am getting the late movement with a lot drive at the tail end of the alley. I would strongly urge that you have a ball on call if the alley is dry. This ball has a tendency to take off at the heads when lane conditions were becoming dry. I am pleased with the performance. A good ball for a good price. Buy it, and enjoy it.

Before I get into the review specifics, the box finish is "35 micron trizact", for whatever that's worth. Suffice it to say that it's a 'heavily loaded' particle coverstock. I have mine drilled at the Brunswick "2E" pattern(pin 4.5 inches from PAP, with a pin-out distance of a little more than 2 inches) because I wanted to moderate the overall hook vs the stacked leveraged "1E" layout. I had to have an extra hole drilled so I had the pro shop driller put it in the mid-flare position which is right on the PAP. I'm a lefty 'tweener'. I bowl in an early league in one house and a late league in another house. I've used the "swamp" on both shots and the ball is, as expected, much better on the freshly oiled shot. It burns out when the heads start to get too spotty. I shot a 195 on the freshly oiled condition and put it in the bag after the first game and went to a 'go longer' more lightly loaded ball from another manufacturer. As long as you find oil in the heads, the Swamp Monste

Ball Specs: 16 pounds Top Weight: 3.7oz Pin out: 3-4 inches Factory Surface First off, I am a power stroker with high revs and medium ball speed and about a 15 degree axis tilt. I have mine drilled up rev leverage with the pin under my ring finger and the cg kicked out with a hole going two inches under my pap. The ball revs up in the mindlanes but saves plenty for the backend and into the pindeck. Small changes in ball speed effect it very little. Also if you miss your target wide it will have plenty of juice to get back to the pocket. This is a great ball especialy for heavy to medium oil, and for getting through carrydown. As long as there is some oil in the heads, you can use it all day long. But beware when the heads start to dry out just the littlest put this monster back in the bag.
