Brunswick Shock Zone Pro Bowling Ball

(10 reviews) Write a Review

The Shock ZonePro expands the envelope of Proactive™ performance by combining a high RG core system with a DTX Proactive coverstock. The large doorknob shaped core incorporates a 2” diameter low density sphere in the center of the ball to push the RG Max to 2.639; the highest ever achieved with a DTX Proactive coverstock. This core/cover combination helps to keep the Shock ZonePro in check through the front part of the lane, allowing it to unleash its power in the mid-lane and back-end. The performance of the Shock ZonePro makes it the perfect choice to bridge the gap between Reactive balls and the more aggressive, earlier arcing Proactive balls in the Brunswick line. A Proactive ball with better down-lane recovery and increased entry angle into the pocket, the Shock ZonePro is what you’ve been looking for.

This ball holds its line very well - If I miss my mark a board either way, I still usually carry-Ball hits with a ton of power and goes long and snaps back hard. Carries light and high hits with consistancy.-My average increase 14 pins to a 216. I have always used Brunswick products and this is the best ball I owned-The Shock Zone is a wonderful ball and I would recommend it to anyone. The people that posted bad reviews on this ball must have had the ball drilled incorrectly. I own 2 298 games(1 on Wood and 1 on Synthetic) and both have been with this ball-I blew the 300 not the ball

If you are considering a new ball, don't get this ball. The ball is very bad ball that tracks real easy. Also I was able to carry with the ball. I was carrying better with my PLASTIC BALL then I did with this ball. I would consider something other than this ball. You would improve your game better with a plastic ball than with this ball. I would take this ball and use this ball as a practice ball for drilling my bowling balls. This ball is pathetic. If you want something to improve your game, buy any ball out there except for this one

This is a great ball to play on long oil as well. It can leave a few corner pins when it is time to get a little deeper with this ball, but that's easy to fix, just roll it a little harder, and it looks like someone kicked the ball to the pocket when it gets to the breakpoint. This ball has tremendous energy when it hits the pins, it's very predictable as well, but this ball is a little squirty on carry down, as any ball really is, but if you can play light with this ball, you should strike at least 70 percent of the time.

If you don't throw a huge hook, but like to play second arrow, this is a good, powerful ball. It doesn't hook a tremendous amount, but it hits hard. It works for my style. When I find the pocket this ball rams through the pins and keeps them low. I had a 164 average in my league. My old ball was outdated & had trouble carrying light hits & corner pins. Since I bought this ball 2 months ago, the pins are being punished for all those strikes I was missing. I have thrown both the high game and the high series in the league and my average is almost at 180.

I like the ball for its back end reaction and carry. Perfect for medium conditions. The ball will skid a considerable distance, even on the dry stuff. The only ten pins I leave are on shots where I didn't have my hand in it like I should. I use this as my middle range ball, and what the hell, the price was right. I have noticed noticable increase in my average, primarily due to the better carry this ball provides. Any ideas out there why this ball was discontinued, or what ball is comparable in the Brunswick line now?

With this ball i have increased my average drastically. I have only been playing for two years and this ball has helped me increase my average swiftly. With my old ball i was averaging only 130 with 150 - 155 high, but with the shock zone my average suddenly sprung to 175 with 250 high score. It has helped me win a lot of tournaments in the amateurs competition. I only play once a week and still maintain my average falling on a low score of 145 only on a very bad day. I can't understand why many dislike this ball. Besides hitting the strike zone almost all the time, it also has very good recovery on the backend.

Well buying it online for $40 was a great start. From the moment I through this ball it had no presentation on the lane. It is a slow flipper on fresh lanes and it is too aggressive come the 3rd game to keep on the lane. I did not feel comfortable throwing the ball, and the ball is really unpredicatable if you throw off your mark about 2-3 boards. Well at least I can't complain when the ball established me at a 165 so early in the season. I guess I can reccommend this ball to anybody who likes to sand-bag!!!!???? Buyer beware I would rather be throwing a freaking target zone before I pull this one out of the garage.

My Shock Zone is drilled 4.5 x 3.5, similar to my Battle Zone Bullet. I was hoping to use the Shock when my Bullet isn't quite enough, and my Sledge Hammer was a bit too much. I made a good choice. The Shock works well on all the mediums, as long as the fronts have some head oil. I've played lines outside 5 board and inside 20 with the Shock Zone with success. The ball is very versatile. The coverstock (light particle) allows me a little room for error too (trust me, I need it sometimes). If you get it to the hole, this ball will carry. Seems to have a very strong arc/drive to the pocket. I put the Shock Zone in the bag on drier shots or fried heads. Because it is a particle cover, it will grip way too early and hit like a pillow on dry. However, it seems to do well on carry down, even though it doesn't hook a ton. It does grip though, and is my choice for spotty shots where my reactives don't seem to cut it. A couple other reviews on this site of this ball rip it for not

I dont see why people hate this ball. I love it. When I hit the pocket...........10 in the pit!!!!!! I bought this ball last year and averaged in the 190's with it. I only bowl once per week so I cant complain about that. I bought a FUZE detonator this year to replace this ball, and i prefer this ball over the FUZE. The only bad thing about this ball is the material, This ball has gotten alot of scratches/marks in it. Maybe soft material or bad lanes??? I am thinking of selling my detonator and keep using this ZONE for the rest of the year.

I bought this ball because it was supposed to be as good if not BETTER than the Riot Zone. Well , whoever told me that must be , well... not smart, thats for sure. This ball was drilled to go long and snap, wooo! I was way off on that one. This ball did just about next to nothing. It would go long and hook maybe 3 boards at most. When I actually got this ball to get up into the pocket , it would leave a 10 pin. I got so mad at this ball I gave it to my dad. He didn't even like it , he sold it after he threw 2 horrible games with it.
