As a player with a lots of Revs I bought this ball for heavy lane conditions - and it is working really good for me. On a lot of oil this ball is still hooking a lot, hitting the pins like a train. When reducing the revs on the ball it is still hooking, but not that much and then it is leaving the 10 pin more often. This ball dislikes dry parts of the lane. There it tends to overreact and looses power to early. When this happens I have to take the PowerGroove Reactive ball, which goes longer. Since the PowerGroove ProActive Plum is out of production I have to look for another ball like this because in a few months I have to throw it away.

This is a 14 pound ball with the pin just right of ring finger (righty) and the cg stacked below it. A small weight hole near Pap was added to keep the static weights legal. I have thrown the reactive power grooves and liked them. They were a little too snappy on the backend and I thought that this proactive vesion would give me a little more arc. WRONG! This ball goes even longer than the reactive power grooves and the really grabs the dry. I have a hard time keeping the ball in the pocket because the breakpoint is so abrupt. I get a little less hook than with the reactive version and more backend. This is the opposite of what I was looking for. I carry well light with it but flush pocket is a nine pin every time. Not a good ball for me but if you want length and snap give it a try!<scrip

A very good ball for very long oiled lanes with heavy oil. Grips even in oil with a smooth arc. When hitting the pocket the pins have no chance. Gets a lot of strikes. I bowled my 4th 300 game with it the same day I got the ball drilled (got 2 balls drilled that night, used both together for the perfect game. the other ball was the Power Groove Reactive Green/Pearl). On the other hand this ball couldn`t bring the full power to the pocket when I was hitting the outside boards of the lane. The angle to the pocket wasn't right any more und the ball started to overreact.

Overall, a decent ball but not one to put your faith in. It's good when the lanes are fried, because it is able to go long and stay on the same line. This ball leaves absolutely NO margin for error in the pocket, or it will leave an inordinate number of ugly counts/leaves that will leave you wondering what the heck happened. I normally throw a shot between the first and second arrows...but not with this ball. A ball out there will stay out there and give you a beautiful 3-6 pocket hit. It is a better spare ball or complimentary ball than a primary option. The ProActive line on the ball is basically false advertising, since it hooks about as much as my urethane Maxim. That said, it can play down and in well.

This is a great ball for fingertip straight shooters who enjoy a powerful hook on the end. It travels smoothly when released and starts hooking circa 3/4 of the lane. That's where the fun begins, since its 2-cylinder inner core creates a beautiful consistent hook, which gets stylishly into the pocket. Once there, unlike other B Reactive balls, it gently sends messengers and forces all pins to go back. Your strikes won't explode, they will just dissapear. This is also a great split-taker and performs well when attacking single-pin spares. You get all this for ~100 bucks.
